3d layer problem in PS 10 extended

I've tried importing spheres in both .obj and .3ds format, and they show up looking like this:
Those odd stepped artifacts only disappear when "Single Light From Eye" is the light mode. They seem to appear regardless of whether the 3d file is saved with lighting information or not.
I'm importing the shapes using Layers - 3d Layers - New Layer From 3d File
Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong and how to avoid those artifacts will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mylenium, I'm not entirely sure but I think the .obj was created in Maya, and the .3ds in Autodesk. Two different people made the two files. I find it surprising that they've both got identical artifacts, given that they were created by different individuals in different software. It's largely this factor that's made me suspect it's actually a PS problem. I'll be happy to be proved wrong though. I really want this to work.
Thinking about it I've never actually seen a good smooth example of a 3d sphere imported into a 3d layer in photoshop. I've been completely unable to find an example online and the help files do not appear to show one. I think that's odd really, given that it's a new feature.

Problem with layers is when I use the crop tool in a layer out of 20, all of them get croped at once including a locked backgound layer.
When I use smart object in a layer to size down image with transform tool, guess what happens to all the layers in project? all behave odd, changes same as the layer being sized down. If I work images or layers in separate files, once I bring them over to my workspace, all get affected without maintaining their own individuality. This happens with every new project. I think colors are not affecting layers. Layers are not grouped, I do not know anything about linking layers. This problem is stopping me from using photoshop. Please help!!!
I had previously a problem with a photoshop bug (GPU sniffer), which I was able to resolve it with reintalling the graphics video card with the help of HP technical support, I am able now to work with repousse however with same video card.

Problems installing Photoshop CS6 Extended

Hello to whoever is reading this - I have a problem installing Photoshop CS6 Extended (as you can guess from the title) due to the fact that I download a pre release version of it (not the beta) And I've looked everywhere on my laptop and I still can't install the trial even though I've deleted everything relevant to the pre release version, it can't be my normal version of Photoshop CS5 can it? It'sonly occured to the Photoshop CS6 Extended trial, all the other Creative Suite trials from Adobe Download Assisstant work.

we have a Livelink Server database running with two replicas on two nodes as Always On Group, both instances running extended protection in "allowed" mode.
Our company security policy demands setting the extended protection to "required".
Are there any known problems with a "required Extended Protection" / "Always On" / "Livelink Server" combination?

According to my knowledge, there are no known problems with a "required Extended Protection" / "Always On" / "Livelink Server" combination.
Extended Protection helps to prevent an authentication relay attack by using service binding and channel binding. We need to note that when Extended Protection is set to
Required, only connections from protected applications on protected operating systems are accepted. This setting is the most secure but connections from operating systems or applications that do not support Extended Protection will not be able

Merging layer problems, I did a tldr

Hello, I've been having a problem where I create a path in layer 1 and fill it with the color red. I don't do any type of blending with it so I don't need to rasterize it. I create a layer 2 and merge them by holding alt(I'm using windows) and clicking between them. I make a path on layer 2 and fill path with white. The path I made in layer 1 turn white and the path in layer 2 turns red. I'm using Photoshop cs6 extended. Can anyone help me?
Tldr: make red box in layer 1,make circles on layer 2 on top of box in layer one. Fill path on layer 2 to white turn box white and circles red.

Alt between layers does not merge layers. It clips the top layer into the lower layer. You can right click on the layers if you want to merge the layers. Merging will combine all selected layers into a single layer. So that only one layer exists.
Clipping on the other hand stops the effects of the top layer from bleeding down through all the layers when there are more than two layers to contend with.
As for what you are trying to accomplish could to capture your entire screen and post it here. Just to make sure we are all on the same page for what you want. Feel free to write on the image to convey what you would like it to do.

Mouseover/layer problems

I'm setting up a Flash site navigator consisting of buttons
down the left side, each of which controls a movie clip. On
mouseover, the clip plays, zooming in an image, and stops. The
zoomed image is a nested button whose hit area is a trunk that
extends back to the original button. On mouseout, the movieclip
resumes play, fading out and returning to frame 1. Each of these
assemblies is on its own layer.
The problem is that only the button on the top layer works
right. Buttons on layers below will execute the mouseout function
prematurely, when the mouse gets to the edge of an unrelated form.
If the page is refreshed, then the first button to be used will
work OK, but the ones below it will have the problem. If I move the
layers around, the top one still works right, so the problem isn't
in the coding or setup of any particular layer. I'm using cs3 and
actionscript 3. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Printing Problem with CS 6 extended and Canon Pro 9500

My prints are no longer coming out centered. I have the "center" box checked in the CS6 print dialogue box. The prints are not centered left to right or top to bottom.
This seems to be a problem since I upgraded to CS 6 extended and or newest print driver for my Canon Pro 9500.
I believe that since I did one or both of these changes there is a border (consitst of slanted hash marks around the perimiter of the print dialogue picture) in the preview of the print.
The border segments left and right are not equal and are very uneven in width. The top and bottom borders are closer but still not even in width.
Can anyone help me with this issue?

Layer problem with graphics

I have a layer where on one frame I have 3 dynamic text boxes
which I convert to one graphic. These are used to display a value
set through actionscript whilst a motion tween fades it in and out.
I have called the graphic set1 with names on each of the
inidividual textboxes. One I have finished with this graphic I make
a blank keyframe later on and create another three dynamic text
boxes on the same layer (different frame) and call them different
name. The problem is when I go to set all three to one graphic like
before and called it "set2" or anything.. it keeps reverting to
"set1" and displaying them again in the new frame.... any ideas
why?

But I meant to say ... If not, turn the object's text wrap off using the Text Wrap panel.

Layer problem with exporting nested Indesign Doc in indesign doc to PDF

Hi folks,
I managed to create a PDF with very strange layer behavior... even with content that shows when ALL layers are turned off...
Here's how I did it:
- I placed our two page company letterhead indesign document in another Indesign document.
- Both documents have several layers (our company use up to 8 different languages for their corporate papers)
- The document that I exported to PDF, has itself two layers, and the nested Indesign document is exclusively on masterpages in the second layer.
- The nested Document has 4 layers visible, but consists of around 27 layers.
- Turning on the layer that contains the letterhead doc, correctly shows the corporate identity on all pages that are based on the master layers. Turning the layer off hides it. So far, so good.
- I use a PDF preset which renders a PDF with following settings:
- When opening the resulting PDF, the layers of the main document are all there, as one would expect. However, toggling the layers visibility renders a weird result... The document is 4 pages, a usage contract. You can download it from our server via this link. Now if you would toggle the layer visibility of the "letterhead_def actual" layer that is supposed to hold only the corporate identity, you will find that all works correctly for the first two pages... but on the 3rd, all contents seems to have been combined onto the second layer... and on the 4th page, the contents landed on a layer that isn't even listed in the layers panel, as turning ALL the layers off, still leaves the Terms and conditions visible...
This looks like a bug to me... I'm going to try and flatten the nested indesign document first, before I export to PDF to see what that brings, but that is of course quite the hassle.
Would be interested to see if more people have run into this thing...

Set text of layer problem (escaping ' and " in javascript)

Hi all
I am using the Dreamweaver behaviour "set text of layer" and
I am having problems with escaping
single AND double quotes in the javascript.
Because the text I want to set the Layer with contains some
javascript.
So the text of my layer contains both single and double
quotes.
I can escape the single quotes like this:
But I can't escape the double quotes the same way for some
reason.
even if I use \" javascript thinks it's the end of the
javascript function.
So I have tried using " in the javascript of the
text to set, but strangely, although it works
in Safari, it does not work in FireFox and IE.
When I mouse over my javascript link set in the layer, the
browser status bar shows the right thing
in Safari, but in IE and FireFox, it shows extra double
quotes...

Problem in a class extended from Dialog

I have a problem with the setSize() method when I do this:
public class xClass extends Dialog

setSize(150, 200);
setLocation(x,y);
The problem is that sometimes the size is set ok but sometimes not.
Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

I usually just do a this.pack();, but if you need to set the size, I'd try using the setSize(Dimension) method, instead of using the two ints.

Dual layer problem

I'm am trying to burn a dual layer PAL SD dvd. An error box comes up to say that the break point cannot be set, use manual selection but when I switch to manual the dialogue box does not appear. Any thoughts.

1 menu with 6 min video as bg

That is great news. Though I have never had an issue with the Layer-break on a DVD-9 in Encore, part of that could be that I edit my Sequences as Chapters and then have a separate Timeline for each of those. I've never even done a Chapter Playlist, because of my workflow.
Also, when using ImgBurn for DVD-9's, I've never had any problems either, and have appreciated the greater control with regards to the Layer-breaks.

DW8 INserting a Picture in a layer problem

Hi folks, while i design view, has anyone had any problems
after inserting the image into the layer that the "Overflow" box is
not available and only available before inserting the image?
Supposidly, you should be able to make the overflow box to
"hidden", but the overflow box disappears after inserting the image
and I cannot find it. Also, the layer moves up towards the top of
the page. Is this a poblem with DW8?

Most likely not. Please list the exact steps you are taking,
and what it is
you want to do. The simple act of inserting content into any
container,
whether a 'layer' or a table, would not be expected to cause
that container
to change locations on the page.
And what is the 'overflow box'? Do you mean the visibility
column on the
Layers panel?
As a wild guess, I would imagine what is happening is that
you are not
inserting the image into the layer, you are REPLACING the
layer with the
image. Did you look at the code <shudder> to see if the
layer's markup was
still there?

BC4JToystore - View and Controller layer problem

I am trying to create a web application based on the BC4JToystore design (MVC) where it seperates each layer into different project.
Here is the problem.
1. when i create a new Struts base JSP (JSP + Action Class) from the wizard on the controller prject/layer, JDev would automactically add the ApplicationResource.properties, define the /transaction, /navigate etc. to my struts-config.xml, add the ###_jpr_War.deploy. Of course, the Action.java + jsp files. So wat i did was, I manually remove the jsp files and add it to the view layer/project. Are there any better way of defining new struts action class/jsp. and how?
2. I understand i would need to deploy my class files to the webroot/WEB-INF. I hav studied BC4Jtoystore where the .deploy profile is defined in the Deployment project. I couldn't quite get it right. I wonder how the developers deploy files from other projects (controller) into JAR files. I notice in the project settings where it onli includes the custom lib of toystores and when u preview the .deploy, they hav got all the class files from the controller project/layer. How u guys do that?
As i couldn't get the Deploymnet project's .deploy profile work, so i define a .deploy profile in the controller layer/project itself. Here is the problem. It took me like 2 minutes to deploy just 1 file. Later i found out in the preview, it has heaps of classes in the archieve content where it includes the libraries i defined in project settings. Is is neccessary as I think these classes already exist in the library. how do i get rid of it if it is not?

It depends on where you call the method. If you call it directly from the task flow you can right click on the method, select 'edit binding' and you get a dialog where you see the method binding. In the lower part you see the input parameters for your methos. There you set the parameter to '#{securityCcontext.UserName}'.
If you call the method from inside a bean via an operation binding you use code like
        OperationBinding binding = bindingContainer.getOperationBinding("doSomething");
        binding.getParamsMap().put("param1", "hello");
        binding.execute();Don't forget to check for errors after calling hte method.
