3D- New Mesh from Grayscale- Plane produces a mesh with some gaps in.

When I open a greyscale BMP file, and use the 3D->New Mesh from Grayscale->Plane option to create a 3D mesh based on it, the mesh it creates has some curious gaps in - I've attached an illustration of this, showing dome shapes with the mysterious gaps.
Anyone know what I can do to make sure there are no gaps of this kind? Some kind of Blur filtering, perhaps? Any suggestions? Should I convert the BMP file to some other format first?
I'm using CS5 extended (64), on Windows 7 (64).
Also, does anyone know how the mesh resolution can be altered? It seems to be about 1/12 of the resolution of the grayscale image that the mesh derives from, that is, for each 12 dots in the greyscale image, a single point/vertex of a mesh triangle on the greyscale mesh, is created.

Here is a JPG equivalent/version of a BMP file that creates the kind of gappy mesh I mentioned in the original post. (Can't upload a BMP file, it seems. And I hope it will survive the upload process without having its resolution altered in such a way as to stop it generating the gappy mesh. Also, it's not a greyscale mode image, but I understand that doesn't matter - I certainly get exactly the same problem when I convert to greyscale first - I forgot to grayscale this sample before I uploaded it).
If you download the file, open it in PS5 extended, do the 3D->New mesh from grayscale->Plane, and then zoom in, you should see the odd grey triangles and rhombus shapes that indicate the incorrectly-created mesh. If you open the 'background' layer and make that white, it'll make the 'gappiness' a bit more visible.
I'm using Windows 7. My GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce G105M/PCI/SSE2, but I suspect this problem is a computational one inside PS, not a display one (for example, zooming in and out leaves the gappiness in the same places in the mesh).
One thing I've noticed is that this gappiness thing seems to be a function of the size of the depth map file - I took a large depth map file that produced the gappy mesh, and I cropped the centre out of it, and when I used that to generate a 3D mesh, it did not have the gappy bits any more, even in the places where the large file had generated them. Odd...!!!

Depth Map for 3D Mesh from Grayscale is broken

When I create a 3D Mesh from Grayscale in Photoshop 14.1.2, the resulting depth map appears to renormalize its depth. That is, I apply a levels adjustment to lower the depth map's contrast (e.g., output levels to 0 and 12), and that has no effect on the mesh. However, if I add a bit of white to the map, the other areas of the mesh flatten with the white spot becoming the high point. If I remove the the painted bit, the map renormalizes such that its lightest value acts like white, and darkest black, even if they are not.
pretty sure this is a bug...any workarounds?

Hi, I am interested in knowing if one can control the density of meshes created from grayscale images. Is this linked to the image resolution? If so, what is the relationship? Thanks for your help!

The formula seems to work on a constrained algorithm that balances out the largest dimension in either direction, based on trying to make that larger side 100 units or the closest value near it. So with a 1000x1000 pixel image, you get a 100x100 grid, as every 10th pixel is sampled. If the value exceeds 1000pixels, additional rows and columns are added until they cann accommodate all the pixels.... Well, anyway, I'm sure Steve G. can explain this better.

if your Spry menu is triggered on 'hover', it will not work on an iPhone as touch-screen phones cant do 'hover'.
any menu with NO hover (mouseover) effect or trigger will work on touchscreen devices. Pick a menu plug-in that doesn't have any associations to 'hover' factor.
as most touch-enabled menus will still contain hover rules or mouseover javascript handles. Even most JQuery menus will contain :hover rules.
There is no disagreement about that with you, Al.

Removing mesh from 3d annotation

I would like to know how to remove a mesh from a 3d annotation
I have tried the following with a scene containing 2 meshes:

however, both meshes are still visible on screen

There is a solution for your request. Yes, the current API does confuse people on this issue. When you 'remove' a mesh from the scene, you are actually only removing the mesh from the 'list' of scene items. You are not setting it's visibility.
To set the mesh visibility, get the mesh object and set it's 'visible' property. Here's a simple piece of code that uses the spacebar to toggle visibility on the first mesh in the scene:

I made all my adjustments to the RAW color images, which took me quite some time. I converted them to B&W by using Sync Settings – Treatment (Grayscale); just wanted to see what they looked like in B&W. My plan was to undo the last move by hitting Apple Z (Command Z). I got distracted and had to leave. A few hours later I returned, closed LR down totally forgetting to undo the last move. I’ve tried to convert them back to color but the images don’t appear to look the like they did before; the white balance isn’t the same, neither is the exposure.
Is there anything I can do to get them back to pre grayscaling them?

Go into the develop panel on your image. On the left hand side in the panel there will be a history list. Simply click on the item right below "convert to grayscale" and you will be back straight to to where you where right before you converted to grayscale.

Time From field is not getting displayed in correct format in Activities

We are facing one problem in UI , when we search for Activities in Web UI . In the field "Time From" we are not getting the time in correct format , ie is instead of getting time as say 13::38 we are getting time as 13::3 , but when we place cursor on it the field it shows correct format say 13::38.
Can any one suggest how to display in correct format ?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

I upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 4s, after a few initial problems and two restores, everythings seemed to be working...until I went to play some music, all music loaded to itunes via CD's played, but ALL purchased music from itunes does not play...i click on the song and the screen flashes to the image then goes back to the list of songs, so the purchased music shows up...just does not play. here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

Selective Deletion from Infocube Only (Not from Aggregates)

For the Selective Deletion, i used the FM 'RSDRD_SEL_DELETION' in program. But this FM deletes the data first from Infocube then from aggregate.Because of this, deletion took more time to delete and adjust the Aggregate.
I need an way in which i can delete the data from Infocube only and after i reach to my reconcile period then i will deactivate and actiavted the aggregate, so the data will be consistent in Infocube and aggregate.
is there any to Delete(Selective Deletion) the data only from the Infocube not from its aggregate (for the Performance Point of View)?

You can try manual selective deletion which will delete data from cube only. check out the below thread.

If you want to delete data from FM only, then try to deactivate your aggregates before you start your selective deletion.
Once deletion is done, you can reload the aggregates
