4.1(3) IPMA Config Information

Hi Guys,
I am messing around with 4.1(3) trying to get the config info out of it for IPMA.
So far I've looked at the following sources..
IPMAUser table in SQL (Still trying to work out exactly what this means and how it works)
TelecasterSubscribedService table in SQL - I can query for devices subscribed to the IPMA manager service
CTI RP details - I havent looked this up yet.. assume its in SQL device table - I will check the IPMA RP here and get the line configs
Device tables again - can determine assistants by their softkey templates..
Will get some info out of the line info also, like matching CTI RP DN's to Manager DN's (obviously in different partitions)
What I am still having trouble with is mapping managers to assistants.. this is configured in the user pages.. so maybe some of it is in DC Directory.. and maybe the rest of the config is actually in the IPMA service itself somewhere..
Going to dig around some more.. but has anyone got any good tips here?
I can also use AXL to pull user info etc.. but I dont think it contains IPMA config info in the response..
Or does anyone know any other sources or ways to get this info out?
Cheers,
Tim

  • Migrating config information from a 6.1 server to a new 7.0 server

We have multiple web sites on a Sun One server we wish to upgrade. In our plan, we want to install a new server with Solaris 10 on it and Install version 7 of the Sun One server. How do we migrate the config information from the older server onto the new server without manually recreating it all?

Despite the 'Web' in the name, this forum is not closely focused on either servers or configuring them. JWS is a technology for launching rich client apps. (to the end-user).
You might have better luck on one of the forums listed under 'Enterprise and Remote Computing' or 'Web Tier APIs'.

  • Accessing config information in XML file in a Weblogic web service (JWS)

    Problem:
I have implemented a web service for sending emails and pages via Java Mail and SNPP respectively using WebLogic Workshop on the BEA WebLogic 8.1 platform. In the service, I use certain pieces of information that are currently stored in an XML file on disk. Also, in its current state, the web service is implemented with public methods directly in the .jws Java file and not as a session bean. The file read from disk is performed every time the web service operation to send a message is invoked. As we all know, the I/O files access is very expensive and a performance bottleneck, especially when it is incurred on every invocation of the web service ‘sendMessage’ [operation.
Without radically re-writing the application, I am looking for a way to improve the performance of the web service and can only come up with the following 2 ways:
    1) Move the code out of the sendMessage operation: Here, the main question I have is 'to where should I move it to'? I have seen in the WebLogic Workshop documentation that WebLogic Server maintains only a single instance of a Java class that implements a Web Service operation, and each invoke of the Web Service uses this same instance. In that case, I should be able to put the code in the constructor so that the files is read only at the time the class is instantiated, but a constructor in the .jws file that contains the web service operations itself does not seem to be invoked by the container (I tried to put a breakpoint in the constructor, but it seems that the constructor code never gets called)
    2) Move the configuration variables into some type of standard configuration file of WebLogic, something like web.xml or wlw-config.xml or jws-config.properties files. But I found that these XML files have an associated schema to conform to and do not provide any custom elements or attributes that I could add for my application(is that true?). Also, if I can somehow put the configuration information into any of these standard files, how do I access it from within the application 'without' doing a file read from disk? Are these configuration file items available in memory for access and use by the web service and if they are, what API can I use to access and use them?
Any and all ideas are welcome!

I have been looking into a similar problem. Since web services are by design stateless, they aren't good for 'remembering' information between calls. Aside from a file read, the only other solution I have found is to use a database. You can make use of an entity bean or simply make some kind of JDBC call. I don't know if you need to stick with the config file, but if so maybe you could read the config data into a database once and then you might have faster access than reading from a file. I'm not sure about which would have better performace, but its all I have come up with so far. What parser are you using to read your XML file? Have you tried others to see if they have better performance?

  • I need to know the name of the file that contains my "about:config" information.

When my Firefox was updated to the latest version I was no longer able to print, save images and more! I tried downgrading at least 6 times with a few different versions with no success. When I look at my "about:config" page there is NO reference to "print_printer". I do see many references to my default printer, but I can NOT print or save any images. When everything works Firefox should be left alone!

Non-default ("userset") preferences in about:config are saved to the '''prefs.js''' file, which is located in the Profile folder.

  • Translator not loaded due to error in FlashObject.htm invalid config information?

I am getting an error message in any file that I am opening or changing in Dreamweaver CS4.
I uploaded CS4 several days ago and no problem until now.
I am working on code that contains no Flash objects - and, as I said, this error is appearing even when I modify a brand new blank HTML document.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After doing a little more searching on the forum, I found this solution:

If anyone is having a problem like this, try following the recommendation of deleting your Configuration Folder.
Worked for me - I am back to loving my new CS4!
BTW, anyone know how or why the Configuration would get corrupted?

  • Services-config best practices for ADEP

I need to establish a services-config.xml to connect to LCDS from my ADEP project.  Are there any best practices I should be aware of with respect to ADEP / LCDS interaction in this regard?
    Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike. You can use the CRXDE Lite editor to modify the services-config.xml file for a Data Services application deployed to the Experience Server.
When you are in CRXDE Lite, navigate to:
    /etc/aep/config/dataservices/services-config.xml
Open the services-config.xml, make your changes, and click the Save All button.
After that, when you create a new "Flex for ADEP Experience Services" project in Flash Builder, the channelset-config information will be copied from the services-config.xml file into a channelset-config.xml file that gets added to the dataservices directory of your Flex project and is also added to the mxmlc compiler options for your project.

  • Error in instance config xml

    Hi
I am trying to integrate mapviewer with OBIEE, when i connect to the datasource from the mapviewer, and try to click on any of the demo Oracle maps, I am getting an error saying that...." *Cannot get map cache instance config information for MVDEMO.DEMO_MAP*."
When check in the start OC4J its showing " *ERROR Not found in MDSYS.CS_SRS: srid=8307, Warning Invalid cache root directory :/scrtrach/mvdemomaps*"
This "/scratch/mvdemomaps" path is there in USER_SDO_CACHED_MAPS_TABLE under DEFINITION column in MDSYS Schema in the database. whereas this root directory path is different in the Oracle application server Mapviewer --->Mangement-->Managing Map Tile Layers--->DEMO_MAP-->Tile storage-->" *C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\mapviewer\web\tilecache\MVDEMO.DEMO_MAP\*
My doubt is whether this both path (in the mapviewer and in the database) should be the same. Because i am unable to render any of the demo maps.
Can somebody please throw some light on it.
    Thanks

    first don't use MDSYS.
use mvdemo or some other user.
    anyway
Not found in MDSYS.CS_SRS is the error you may want to resolve first.
Is Spatial correctly installed and functioning in that database instance?
select count(1) from cs_srs should return something like
    COUNT(1)
    4409
similarly connect as a dba or other privileged user and
    select count(1) from all_objects where owner='MDSYS' and status='INVALID';
    should give
    COUNT(1)
    0
or 1 or some small number.
    and
    select count(1) from all_objects where owner='MDSYS';
    COUNT(1)
    1468
If all of the above are OK then next step is to look at
whether the user mdsys is locked.

  • Hyperion System Configuration Information

    Hi All,
I'm sure this is a "no brainer", but is there an easy way to get the information relating to what databases Hyperion is using? i.e. Shared Services etc - You know, the info that you need to configure the hyperion stack on first install.
    THANKS
    Paul

They are on version 11.1.2 - It's already installed and configured. However, no one seems to know if the backend databases are 2005 or 2008 and there's a project to move everyone over to 2008. So I need to find out what we are actually using for ALL our installed Hyperion Stack - Shared Servces, EAS, reporting etc. I'd have thought there would be a config information page somewhere to take a look at?
Just trying to get the server names and database names.

  • Managing Configuration Information using JNDI

I'm considering using JNDI to manage our application configuration. Can
you please comment on these design ideas?
The Admin. server will master the configuration. The nodes will connect
to the Admin. server's JNDI and create a copy of the configuration
context in the local JNDI (anyone know any easy way to do this?).
(I can't use auto. replication, if the admin. server goes down the node
servers will unbind the config. information.)
The nodes will register as NamingListeners to the Admin. server's JNDI.
When a property changes in the Admin. JNDI, the nodes will automatically
    pick it up.
I'm worried about when the Admin. server goes down. Do I have to
    re-register the nodes as NamingListeners?
In a nutshell, my two questions are:
    1) How can I easily copy an entire context between two JNDI trees?
    2) How do I deal with the Admin. server going down (it does happen)?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Bob Lee <[email protected]> wrote:
Actually, that would be excellent. Do either of these implement what I'm
talking about (clustered JNDI with local caches), or would I have ot use
one of these to implement it myself? No, but you will get replication in the cluster. I've used JavaGroups to
replicate JMX configuration and it worked pretty well.
I'd really like to use JNDI for the interface. It's standard (nothing
new for other developers to learn), it decouples the clients from the
underlying storage implementation, and it has the notion of contexts
built in which I really need.
