4 x 6 Recipe Cards

I am still old fashion and would like to keep a recipe box.  I have 4 X 6 recipe cards that I would like to be able to type the recipes on the computer and then print them on the cards.  I can't seem to find a template for this purpose.  Any suggestions?

Thank you for that search.  My issue is I already have the cards and they are not on a sheet, they are individual cards that are 4 X 6.  I've been trying to set up a word document that would be the size of a 4 X 6 card but not having any luck.

    Can I print 3 x 5 recipe cards on my HP Photosmart C4580 printer from Vista operating system?

    Hi,
    No instructions for loading 3x5 cards, please try using the loading envelpoes way:
    a. Pull out the main tray.
    ❑ If the photo tray is open, push it back in.
    ❑ In the main tray, slide paper-width guide outwards.
    ❑ Remove any previously loaded media.
    b. Load envelopes.
    ❑ Insert one or more envelopes into the center of the main tray. The side to be printed on should face down. The flap should be on the left side and facing up.
    ❑ Slide the stack of envelopes forward until it stops.
    ❑ Slide the paper-width guide inward against the stack of envelopes until it stops.
    c. Push the main tray back in, and then open the paper tray extender.
    Hope this helps.

  • Paper Mismatch when trying to print a recipe card from a template

    I keep getting a message when trying to print a 4 x 6 recipe card on both of my color printers. No matter what I do I cannot print the cards. I have a HP Photosmart C4480 printer and a HP Officejet 8000 series printer. I am running Windows 7, 32 bit. I went to reinstall the drivers from the original installation disk and I get the message that a newer version of the drivers is already installed.

    I am sorry to hear you went through so much time and effort to get it working . More so because in the end we don't know what solved it. However, I am glad to hear everything is working now . Let us know if you run into any other problems!

  • Follow-up question on BOM production and consumption of same item

    Awhile back, I asked the question about whether it made sense to have a BOM structured to simultaneously produce and consume an item.  BOM that needs to produce and consume same component
    Thanks for the help and it does what I thought it should.  We have a local difference of opinion on the consumption of primary components, though.  To attempt to ensure that we account for the bleed-off of materials into a vacuum system, we set up a BOM like this
    Material A    498.379
    Material B    332.253
    Material C     14.914
    Material D     22.371
    Material E     64.317
    Material F    103.570
    Material F     -35.804  (This is the quantity vacuumed away, treated as by-product.)
    to cover a recipe card structured like this
    Material A    481.150
    Material B    320.775
    Material C     14.400
    Material D     21.600
    Material E     62.100
    Material F     100.00
    The difference of opinion is whether to recognize the reclaimed material (Material F) at all on the BOM, with a minority saying that we will not consume (and therefore not order) enough of materials A through E.  They say that "you have to put the same amount of good ingredients in as you produce because it's a closed loop system".
    So the other approach would be a BOM like this
    Material A    534.252
    Material B    357.852
    Material C     15.840
    Material D     23.760
    Material E     68.310
    The  material reclaimed (Material F) is sourced not only from this particular vacuum system, but from other vacuum systems outside the blending operation.
    It seems to me that the first approach is correct, because we recognize consumption and production of the reclaimed item, and proportionately increase the component items to recognize that more are needed than will go out as good product.  Even the reclaim becomes reclaim.  The amounts vacuumed off seem to be consistent at 3.57%.
    Which approach is correct?

    Thank you for the reply.  The reclaimed material can be as much as 11% of the total material made.  Last year, over one million kilograms were worked back into the product as reclaim, and the metals are somewhat expensive (not like precious metals, but they are not trivial, either).
    Accuracy versus precision is always something to consider, but I think it's important enough to follow, especially because it is sourced from several processes.  The sourcing from the other sources means that the reclaimed material from those sources has already been reported as production of the primary product which consumes the virgin materials, so I think it should be re-introduced into the flow as a separate item (Material F)
    The primary argument I want to settle is the business about how we won't order enough component materials if we use the BOM that shows simultaneous production and consumption.  I think under the approach in which we ignore the reclaim, we will consume more components from the backflush location than we physically use and would then order too much material because of using a BOM that pulls only virgin materials.

  • RoboHelp 9 search results icons and context

    I have some formatting issues with the search results.  In the image below I want 2 things to change.  I would like to remove the extra info and simply have the link.  I also want to ditch the little icon.  I am pretty new to RoboHelp so ask me any info I may have excluded.
    RoboHelp 9

    Sorry for the forums issue. I know how those can be!
    Apologies in advance if you feel I'm speaking down to you in any way. As you seem unfamiliar with RoboHelp's outputs, I'm guessing you may also be unfamiliar overall with RoboHelp.
    Using RoboHelp is a lot like working in a kitchen. You mix "ingredients" that consist of Topics (HTML Pages) Images, Video and whatever else. And RoboHelp assists you in mixing these.
    In a kitchen, you prepare a dish for someone to consume. Generally, you prepare the dish based on a recipe. That recipe may exist in the form of a card in a small recipe box. In RoboHelp, there is a pod called the Single Source Layouts pod. This is just like the Recipe Box. And each layout type is just like a recipe card in the box. There are layouts for WebHelp, for Microsoft HTML Help, for AIR Help, etc.
    One of these is nominated to be the default. That's just like moving that particular recipe card to the front of the recipe box.
    So when you create your output (your recipe) I'm asking what type of output you created. Which layout has "default" beside its name in the Single Source Layouts pod? That's likely to be the one you are using and seeing what you are seeing.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Extra margins when printing double sided

    I'm using Word 2007 and have created recipe cards using a basic recipe templete in Word. I have the top margin set to .25 and I'm printing on a regular 8x11 piece of card stock (I want to simply cut the sides and bottom down to make a 4x6 index card).
    However, the margin is printing at almost .75 when I print double sided. Any help would greatly appreciated! I've been working on this problem for two days and I bought the printer to print both sides.
    Thanks!

    Did you ever figure this out? Because my C309g changes my margins when I print double sided, and I can't find any info on it anywhere...!

  • Dynamic image getting "stuck"

    I have an application where you "page through" recipes. You can see it here. The recipes are a list with an item renderer of the "recipe card", controlled with a stepper skinned to look like "next" /"previous" buttons.
    In the next iteration of this, I needed to add a "sponsored by" badge to one recipe card.
    So, I added a section in the XML for that recipe only, with the path to the client's logo image in the xml.  And then I added below the recipe description this code:
    <s:Group click="goRecipe(XML(data).sponsor.link)">
         <s:BitmapImage source="/images/{XML(data).sponsor.image}"/>
    </s:Group>
    It works, but once the image displays for the sponsored recipe (the one where this value exists), it is "stuck" and shows up as you page back through the other desserts.  It shows up on every other dessert, even if they have no sponsor node in the XML and they were blank before.  Changing the "tab" in the recipe book (which refreshes the list by changing its filterFunction) clears the image again.  But once it displays it stays.
    Any ideas?

    glad you got it working
    i was going to say, sometimes, depending on how you load the data, the itemRenderer's data property can be null. in these cases you can add
    if (this.data == null) {
      return;
    to the dataChange handler.
    An alternative to dataChange events is to override the set data method:
    override public function set data(value:Object) : void {
      super.data = value;
      if (value.sponsorImage != null || value.sponsorImage != undefined) {
        sponsorImage.source = value.sponsorImage;
        sponsorImage.visible = true;
      } else {
        sponsorImage.source = null;
        sponsorImage.visible = false;
    something like that...

    How do I comment on the apps in e.print, I like the ones there but most are for kids, no adult apps for birthdays etc, I would love to see more of these aswell as recipe cards.
    As for efax free service, my printer is connected and my printers e.mail address and e.fax number shows but I still do not know how to send a fax from my email program and I do not have e.fax showing on my desktop only e.print, is this correct.

  • Not able to print to custom 4x6 paper size with Pages 5

    I'm having a lot of trouble printing to a custom 4" x 6" paper size with pages 5.  I create my custom size, switch the page setup to use that size in landscape orientation, and everything looks fine.  Then when I go to print the document the destination paper size is set to "Suggested Paper: US Letter" instead of "Custom" as it used to be.  If I do print on US Letter paper then its properly lined up at the top left corner, but if I print on 4x6 it is all cut off.  I've tried scaling it to fit on my 4x6 size in the destination paper size menu, but that just shrinks the whole thing to fit in the center of the 4x6 in portrait orientation.
    I am able to do this fine in pages '09, however I've already converted over 40 recipe cards to work with pages 5 and they don't export back to pages '09 properly.
    If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this to work I would really appreciate them!

  • Really embarassing questions from a new Mac user

    Okay, I have my new Mac Mini up and running and thought I'd test drive it by creating some simple holiday cards, recipe cards, gift tags, etc.
    What application do I use for this? I found text edit, but that doesn't seem to have any graphics or clip art so to speak and I don't want to use photos.
    Am I stupid? Or is there really no program for this sort of simple thing?
    If I need to purchase additional software, what should I get?
    Thanks.

    I'm not sure which stationaries you're talking about, although it's been a while since I used Microsoft Windows in a production environment. I know that Microsoft Works includes quite a few of them, but while it is bundled with many PCs, it's not part of Windows.
    I think iWork features templates for CVs and so forth, and it's supposedly very good for creating stylish documents. FWIW, iWork is usually released at MacWorld San Francisco in January, so you may want to hold off to see if iWork '07 is released (after all, it's just a month away).
    Also, while Pages can import and edit MS .doc files, it's not as good as some other applications. NeoOffice, which is based on OpenOffice.org, is free, Intel-native, and has good compatibility with MS Office documents.

  • Why does purchasing a child's song require 9 separate steps?

    My daughter just wanted to buy 12 songs on iTunes.  We have family sharing and child accounts set up.  For each song I had to do the following 9 steps:
    (On itunes) Click on the price
    Enter childs iTunes password
    Confirm desire to buy
    Ask for permission
    (On my phone) - Click Approve
    Enter password
    (On itunes again) - Click on price
    Enter childs iTunes password
    Confirm desire to buy
    Why doesn't the song start downloading once permission has given?  Why does the child's password need to be entered multiple times for a single session?   Surely there must be an easier way?

    Hi Cynthia
    When you look in RoboHelp at the Single Source Layouts pod, think of it in much the same way as you would think of a Recipe Box in your kitchen. Inside the recipe box are often recipe cards that hold the settings for each dish you might create. So each of the items inside the Single Source Layouts pod is equivalent to a recipe card. The card contains all the settings that govern how that specific output is created.
    As you work your way through the different areas of the settings, one is typically labeled Navigation. And in this area is a setting labeled Optimize Speed For.
    The setting here determines whether the navigation elements are spllit into smaller chunks or left in a larger file. Try ensuring the option here is set for Local PC or Intranet.
    Give that a try and see if it helps... Rick

    I have a HP Photosmart Plus and I am trying to scan recipes and have them print on a recipe card that is  4by 6(same as some of my photo paper)is this possible?Can't figure out what I am doing wrong,any help at all would be appreciated.

    Hi Maureen1936,
    Printing on 4x6 index cards is possible. Keep in mind though, the paper would be going into the printer in a portrait orientation and you would need to set the print settings orientation to landscape.
    If you continue to experience an issue, post back with your model number. There are many variations of the Photosmart Plus, it would be best if I knew which model you have. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
