500.11 GB Toshiba MK5065GSXF can't be repaired, what do I need to do?

I've bought my Mac in 2011 and it has been working quite normally up until this couple of months.
Whenever I use it and try to open Safari, it starts to freeze and won't let me open any other applications.
So I have to shut it down and turn it on again and again. Sometimes it restarts itself (rarely but it does).
I read about this utility disk repair thing, which I just tried (not a good computer person) and it says that 500.11 GB Toshiba MK5065GSXF can't be repaired, failing. (and It's marked red).
So, I want to know what's there for me to do or what does this even mean?

It mean the hard drive is failing. Backup all your files at once, IE Make a copy of them on an External drive.
Then you will need to have the hard drive replaced. you can do that yourself or take it to an Apple store to have them do it for you. You can also take it to must any competent computer repair place even if they don't specifically work on Mac computers. Changing the hard drive is very simple to do.
You will then need to reinstall OS X and all your programs and then copy back your personal files.

Can't address the problem directly, cause even though my iPad4 is Cell+Wi-Fi, I've never put a SIM in it and never had the need to text, SMS or iMessage, from it. When away from the office or home wireless network, I tether it off the iPhone. Skype, both text and video, work just fine thru the Wi-Fi link, though.
HOWEVER, when I was hashing out the contract details to get the iPhone 5 about 14 months ago at Telcel, the representative distinctly mentioned that both Visual Voicemail as well as iMessages would be included in the package and they would be mandatory cause "I was getting a (subsidized) Apple iPhone" on a 24 month leash. Then when the gizmo came out of its box for SIM installation and activation, she went thru the motions of making sure both were working properly. So I assume the carrier has some say in the matter.

That message is usually a sign that you tried to roll back to an earlier build of iTunes, but occasionally I've seen it connected to a new upgrade. This technique should fix things.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I have a Macbook Pro 15'' Retina and I'm thinking of getting a Yamaksai Catleap Monitor, please can someone tell me the best way to connect this? Do I need a thunderbolt to DVI connector, or Thunderbolt to VGA? Im assuning the former would be superior! Please can someone advise?

Some UK links... You can use any of the following to get the video signal out of the iMac and into a standard format:
Mini DVI - DVI
Mini DVI - VGA
Mini DVI - Composite/S-Video.
The DVI will give you best quality, but VGA will be simpler. The DVI to HDMI connector is:
Buy a DVI to HDMI connector (link). Long HDMI cables are pretty expensive though.
Although HDMI can handle sound as neither DVI, MiniDVI nor VGA do you'll need to connect the sound separately. Simply connect the sound out on the iMac to the input on the TV using a cable like this:
3.5mm to RCA.
If you use the miniDVI to VGA connector here's a long VGA cable (link).
All Macs since about 1999 have had +DVD Player+ installed. I'm not at my Mac right now to check Front Row in Leopard but Front Row in Tiger certainly played DVDs (but +DVD Player+ is a better, more flexible DVD Player).

Do you have a recovery partion.
When you forgot the password and you can't use OS X, you have to use the new Recovery.
To boot in Recovery system, press Command and R keys in boot and hold the keys until you see the Apple icon. If you have a Mac with Internet Recovery, read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718. If your Mac has got a wireless keyboard, hold them when you hear the startup sound
When it starts, select Utilities > Terminal, and type:
resetpassword
Press your user and type your password. Finally, reboot.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Based on the OS that it shipped with, the Mac, it's OS and the installed apps, such as iLife are all associated with the original owner's Apple ID. He was supposed to erase the Mac, reinstall the most recent version of the shipping OS and call Apple to request the Mac be disassociated from his Apple ID. You will have this type of issue until that has been done.

Can't figure out what battery I need???

Hey everyone. So I have a mid year 2010 macbook pro. It's a macbookpro6,2. Model number is mc372xx/a. 15 inch, 2.53ghz. My problem I am having is the battery was warped. I threw it away before buying a new one not realizing there were many different batteries. Anybody know what specific battery I need (aftermarket) or a good website to buy one? Thanks.

my own view on this matter would be to go with the Apple battery, but others here could disagree. The larger range of mA·h for the Apple battery suggests a longer average runtime per battery cycle, and non-Apple batteries tend to be hit-or-miss in terms of quality; but if lowest price is your primary criterion, then a simple price check would suffice to make your decision.

I don't know what the Brain is but I imagine that the repair center said that the processor was bad. If they couldn't repair it, then there is nothing that you can do with it. Apple doesn't repair iPads, they replace them. If you are out of warranty they do offer replacement iPads starting at $250.00 in the U.S. you can check and see what the policy is where you live.
