5G ipod w/ Direct Connect Cable in car -Buzzing

I have a JVC kg-310 head unit in my car. the 5g 30gb ipod is connected using a direct connect cable to the back of the jvc unit and a dock connector to the ipod. The ipod is also charged by the connection. When in use a buzz is heard. If I move the click wheel, the buzz goes away for a few seconds and then returns. I turned off my cell phone as well. Problems persist.

i have a workaround for my situation. I noticed that the buzzing starts when the backlight on the ipod goes out....since I have a charger plugged into teh iid when it use, I don't mind changeing the setting for backlight to "always on"
Not exactly the way I want to do it, but I can't keep spending money (or time) on...THANKS for responding.

My iPod touch has stopped connecting to the car. It says it does not support this accessory, the car says no audio files. It has been fine for months. I have reset and restarted the iPod. I've tried my iPad with the car and that's still fine so it must be the iPod rather than the car. Try:

Why won't my ipod won't connect to my car hifi system through the usb cable? (it says: Unreadable)

Just bought the latest ipod nano because the usb on my previoius model was unreadable by my in car hifi system but found the same thing with this one. Is there a different usb cable available that is compatible with a Mercedes E class?

Direct connection network problem

hi. I've just set up a network using a direct connection cable between 2 computers. Currently the cable (15meters) is connected to the Realtek lan port with the other side connected to a SMS (100mps) network card in the other machine( pentium 2.4 GHz 640MB ram). Every few minutes or so the "network cable is disconnected" blob in the system tray appears. Also this problem persists when playing network games using a TCP connection. My IP addresses are manually set up to 197.197.197.1 & 197.197.197.2 on the other machine. All firewalls are off and both the nVidia & realtek ports give the same problem. What could be the problem?

Just make sure you use the Port that you loaded the Drivers for. I would suggest using the nVidia one since when you load the nVidia nForce Drivers, it will active that NIC.
Are you sure you are plugging the CAT-5 Crossover into the correct NIC?

Connecting ipod directly to amp in car

i was wondering if connecting my ipod directly to the amp in my car using a cable with rca plugs on one end and a headphone jack on the other would create any problems for my ipod... anyone know?

If you have the direct inputs to accept the audio, then it will not cause a problem.
There are several similar methods to manage this:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack of your iPod, to the mini-jack input (or AUX RCA input jacks) of your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units may have this feature.
There are also some after-market, moderate to fairly expensive direct interfaces, that hook into your existing car stereo to provide a high-quality, direct connection. Most will also power/charge the iPod. Pretty slick, but can be pricey ($80-$300). If money is no object, a clean way to go. Not very portable from car to car – if at all.

Whichever you choose, power the iPod through your car’s DC power -- either from a power adapter, or as part of the combined audio adaptor. Have a method to secure the iPod to the dash/console/etc. See the reviews for all the various accessories at the iLounge
You will also get better audio output if the dock connection plug is used, rather than the headphone jack. See Sendstation for a novel adaptor called a PocketDock. Others types are also available via this site.

Ipod connected to my car

I recently purchased an Ipod classic 80gb to use primarly in my car. Im only ever going to disconnect it and update it every month or so. My question is will it damage the Ipod always being connect to the Stereo? I have a kenwood KDC 808 stereo and im using the Kenwood KAC IP500 unit to link the ipod and stereo together. The ipod is nicely tucked away out of direct sunlight e.t.c but im just concerend having it always connected (even when im not using the car) will cause problems. thanks!

no it won't cause a problem. sometimes its best to unplug the cable and just drop it down in the footwell or something though because of thieves who will see a cable running to somewhere out of sight and think 'ooh iPod. i want it.'
but in terms of how the iPod works its never been a problem for me.

After iOS5 update, iPod no longer connects to car stereo

Hi,
my husband and I both have an iPod touch 4th generation.
We also have a Dodge Caravan with a car stereo, that lets up hook up the iPods and control them over the display. The cable does not charge the iPods, but we knew that.
I have updatedt my iPod a while ago and never encountered any problems with the car stereo.
My husband updated his iPod to iOS5 today, and the car stereo does not connect via the cable. On the iPods display it just says, an error has ocurred.
Would that be a hardware issue? The iPod is a month or two past warranty. We already tried restarting and resetting the iPod (not to factory settings).
Is there maybe a way, to return the iPod to iOS4?

Sometimes, when you cannot "see" your ipod, it is because the drive that was assigned to the ipod, when you connected it, is already being used by the other devise. Your ipod is connected, but is "under" the other item, which means that you have to disconnect that item, so that you can "see" it. It will not be one of the drives that are normally associated with the computer like the C drive, or the ones assigned to your disc drives. It would be a drive that was assigned to an external devise, or another USB devise. This may or may not be your problem, but it is worth a shot.

Check with the manufacturer of your radio and see if they have a compatible cable.

IPod to iPod direct connection

Hi,
Does anybody know of a cable to directly connect one iPod to another iPod to allow direct sharing? That would be really usefull.

Again, the reason it hasn't been done lately is that it would require more than a cable. It would require some sort of black box with software that would enable the two iPods to communicate. The one I remember was quite expensive, about 200 dollars. Probably not a huge market for that.
So, I guess we're stuck syncing with iTunes for now.

Direct iPod to iPad connection

I've been using an iPod and a portable PC in my travels on my bike. I used the PC to change my playlists which can be controlled through my bike's dashboard and handlebar control. Now I've bought an iPad for its ease of use and better form factor in my bike's bags. So now I would like to know if and how I can connect directly my iPod to my iPad to change my iPod's playlists, add songs and so on. Is this possible and how can I do it? I guess, first I need a special connection cable or 2 iPad/iPod cables plus an USB gender changer.

I bought it mainly for my grand-daughters, to teach them a bit. But I also intended to use it as a portable PC substitute first as its size and form factor is more biker-friendly than a portable PC and I have a trip to make soon. From what I'm learning it's a gadget more than a PC. Maybe one reason of its success. My fault. Too much maximizing, a RPG gamer sin

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Just updated from 10.6.7 ---> 10.6.8 and had the same issue. Despite having done a clean install from 10.6 and got everything back off my TC, now Time Machine can't find it!
Green light is on, ethernet cable conected, network CP says its conected but nothing. Airport Utility can't find it. Hit reset button, Orange flashing light but still no show in Airport Utility.
But I know its there, as rebooting from 10.6 SL disk shows the backups are still ok?
Hmm, ideas anyone?

Can anyone help me restore an ipod itouch ,tried restore on itunes but it fails everytime the error code says it's a conection problem i have 2 computers and tried all usb ports but keephaving the same problem ,even bought a new connection cable

Went to update the ipod touch and it wiped out everything , Itunes keeps trying to restore it but fails everytime giving me an error that it cannot see my ipod yet it sees it and tries to restore it everytime i connect the ipod to the pc , the help file suggested i reinstall the latest version of I tunes so i did i tried using different ports on 2 computers and also bought a new connection cable but still won't restore can anyone help?
