6.0 and existing apps

When I try to update my apps i get a message saying i need to shop at the "canadian store".  My list of purchased apps has also disappeared. This happening to anyone else ?

Are you in Canada? Or somewhere else? Have you been buying from the Canadian store?

  • Install of CS-5 Suite and Existing Apps

    Sirs,
    I have what's probably a unique situation:  I bought Photoshop CS-5 and Acrobat X Pro, thinking that was all I needed.  Well it wasn't.
    Yesterday I installed the 30-day trail version of Illustrator CS-5.
    Today I finally broke-down and bought the entire CS-5 Creative Suite.
    Now here's the question:  how bad have I screwed things up, when I goto install the CS-5 Premium Suite when it finally arrives?  Can I just install Illustrator?  Or do I have to install all the CS-5 components?  See what I mean?
    I'm terrified of messing-up my existing installs of Photoshop Extended CS-5 and Acrobat X - which work flawlessly.  Not to mention when I do go to install Illustrator - the CS-5 Suite installer will get confused when it sees the demo already on my machine?
    Any advice?  Kindly shoot me an email too - just in case I don't see your reply here - as this is the first time I've posted that I can remember.

    Hi,
    1. If you already have Photoshop & Acrobat installed and if the suite you have purchased contains these applications, you can deselect these products when you install the suite. That will ensure that all other products in the suite except Photoshop and / or Acrobat is installer.
    2. If you want to only install Illustrator, you can follow the same process as above, by deselecting all products except Illustrator. You can uninstall the trial version of Illustrator before you install from the suite.

    Content and Apple IDs -
    Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

  • Every time I try to update my existing apps I'm not successful and I get a message saying it can't connect. I've try changing my password and still no success.

    You can log out of the currently logged in account by taping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and you can then log back in.
    If you updated your existing account with a new email address then that shoud 'refresh' it on it
    If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can redownload its content and download updates to its apps. You should be able to update an account's email address via this page : http://appleid.apple.com

    Yes.
    What you need to do is Transfer the iTunes Library from your Old computer to your New computer...
    Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

  • Trying to sync my iPad and get the message that "all existing apps and their data will be replaced"

    Previously my Windows 7 laptop didn't recognise my iPad but I persevered and now am getting the message when trying to update the iOS that if I sync, "all existing apps and their data will be replaced" so I'll lose everything I've bought since I last synced (which is a while).  How can I back up my apps before syncing fully and then updating. I have 'transferred purchases' using the File menu but still getting the message.

    Sounds like you have created a new library somehow. Ideally you would restore your old library and the problem would go away. If that is not possible then you should be able to:
    Backup the device to the computer
    Transfer your purchases into an authorized library
    Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
    Download remaining past purchases from iTunes in the Cloud, where available
    Restore the device from the backup
    This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
    May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
    When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

    Try looking for your files with Spotlight Search
    1. From any Home screen page of iPad, drag your finger down anywhere on the center of Home screen.
    2. Spotlight search will now appear and you can search for apps, texts, or any other content you'd like just as you did on previous versions of iOS.

    It's a credit card, not a debit card ? As far as I know that message will show if you are trying to use a card that was not issued by a bank in the same country as where your iTunes account is based (and you need to be in that country).     Did you create a completely new account or update the existing one ? If you created a new account then any
    content bought/downloaded via the old one will remain tied to that old account, and it can't be copied or transferred to a new account, so you will need to get your old account re-enabled in order to download updates to its apps.
    You might be able to get it re-enabled it via this page : http://iforgot.apple.com
    Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
    If you've changed the password on the old account but the iPad isn't recognising it, then try logging out of your account on it by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' it on the iPad.

    My husband is selling his iPad as he is not satisfied with this device.
    With doing this he does not need his apple I'd and account anymore.
    He has go some expensive office apps on his account and I would like to take them over onto my account for my Pad as he will not need his account and the apps he paid for anymore.
    How is this possible?
    Can we add the two existing accounts together?

    I'm not aware of a way to murge itunes store accounts
    BUT you could use your apps and hiss apps on your ipod. Authorize your computer for his itunes store account. You could then plug in his ipad, and transferred purchased items to your computer. next time you sycn your ipad you could sync those apps to your ipad.
    In the future if you needed to update the apps you would need to know the account password.

    I have got a new computer and i can no longer do a full sync. Apple always tells me I will lose all my exisiting Apps if I do a new sync. I prefer to purchase Apps on my computer over my iPod because of the smaller iPod. The new computer is recognized by Apple as an allowable new PC.
    But this Sync warning is a pain. Plus, when i view my iPod's App icons on my copmputer, I can no longer drag and move them. I have the latest version of iTunes installed. Thank you for your help

    Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your device manually before syncing, you can restore it from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
    Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your iPod without syncing.
    Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
    When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
    Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
    Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

    As for your second problem, see if restrictions for app installation and deleting apps are active in Settings/General/Restrictions. If yes, allow to install and delete app again.
    Don't forget to authorize your PC in iTunes:
