  • Wireless keyboard and mouse keep losing connection Edge 92z

    We recently installed 8 new Edge 92z 3414 DHG Thinkcentre desktop pc.  Originally supplied with Windows 8.0 and upgraded to 8.1.
    We are having intermittent issue with most of them, where keystrokes are lost or repeated and mouse loses connection or is jerky.  The mouse issue can be fixed by switching off and on, but comes back later.  batteries are brand new in both KB and mouse and are the original Slim range supplied from new, using a nano usb dongle.  the distance is less than 10 inches for either.
    I have tried updating the drivers, but they seem upto date already. I have put the nano usb dongle on a short extention as a test, but with the same result.
    Any ideas?  The loss of keystrokes is driving us all mad!!  Help.

    There are things to do with an issue such as this one.
    1. You must ask yourself if this is a hardware issue:
    Try brand new batteries, if that doesn't fix the issue then you must try this.
    Best way to isolate this issue is to boot into the install dvd of your mac osx.
    Why?
    The behavior on the boot disk enviroment is totally different than the operating system while running from the hard disk. If you can recreate the issue there then its a hardware issue.
    If hardware:
    reset the pram (research it)
    If the issue is unable to recreate in the boot disk enviroment but you can in the regular enviroment then you can isolate it to software issue:
    Software troubleshooting:
    1. Remove configuration file for bluetooth:
    10.6: machd/library/preferences
    10.5 userfolder/library preferences
    file: com.apple.bluetooth.plist.
    Reboot.
    A combination of pram reset and plist removal works well. If it may help, use a usb mouse to remove the pairing of bluetooth then readd devices.

  • Thinkcentre Edge 92z (AIO) - Dead after BIOS update

    Today I started Lenovo System Update to check for new updates for my ThinkCentre Edge 92z (model 3396BSG). System Update found a BIOS update. I started System Update from my Win64 Pro System.
    Initially the display was showing white characters on black background. After a while a new window appeared with yellow characters on black background.
    No interaction was done by me.
    Some minutes later the system turned off.
    I turned the system on and - nothing. The system didn´t show any startup  messages, no splash screen - nothing. During "boot" (in fact no boot at all) I was not able to enter the BIOS - the systems seems to ignore any keyboard interactions.
    To my opinion something during BIOS update killed my system.
    I would appreciate any hints or comments.

    Edge role is design for perimeter networks, to keep security risks minimum.  So it’s not recommended to have edge role in internal network. Must have separate network or subnet for edge services.
    If you are playing around it in labs, then you can put edge role within same subnet as other exchange roles and no specific requirements in that case.

  • Add TWO Edge Animations/Stages to ONE web page (without using oam)

    Hi All,
    This is a bit of a follow on question for those who are adding scalable height/width edge compositions to web pages using the awesome piece of code created by Sarah (http://sarahjustine.com/) and other forum contributors... (attached code below).
    My question is: How do I add a second Edge Animate composition to the same page using this method?  So it's using "Stage" already... i'm guessing it's a matter of changing it to "Stage_02" etc in the following code?  I've tried changing the relevant code but so far I have been unsuccessful in getting it to recognise a second stage.
    Any help would be appreciated, many thanks in advance for your time.

  • Combining 2 Edge files timelines into one

    Is it possible to combine 2 Edge files? I have designed 2 simple mouse over animations that share the same asset image library.
    Can I simply copy one timeline and past into another as I did in Flash? I have made sure all labels, ids are unique between files.
    I have tried but is seems to break the animation.
    Be happy to supply files.

    Try this
    You can copy/paste from one doc to another, but its a little tricky
    - Open both documents, activate the doc you want to copy the elements/timeline. Click once in the Timeline then go to the Edit > Select All menu command. You should see everything get selected.
    Then click once in an empty area of the Elements Panel (doing so you should see an orange border around it) then Edit > Select All again. At this point all Timeline and Elements items should be selected. Now go to the  Edit > Copy menu command.
    - Activte the second document, go to Edit > Paste All.
    I believe the drawback here is that the Stage {} actions do not get copied in the process, so you need to copy/paste them individually.

    3. Reversed Proxyand NAT and firewall setup our firewall with Port Translating

  • COMPLAINT for AIO PC Service Req.no. 8002788412 dt10/3/14

    Copy of my complaint to [email protected] and others is pasted below:
    I own a Lenovo Think  Edge 72Z all in one pc 3574-KSQ Serial Number XXXXX purchased on 16th MAY 2013 at JALNA MAHARASHTRA.
    My machine stopped working on 08/03/2014.
    I had called lenovo customer care on telephone no.18004194666 and found out the customer care does is not open for work on Saturdays.
    So I waited for Monday and called them on 10/03/2014. Request number given to me was 8002788412.
    I explained the problem to the service representative in full detail and mentioned that when i started the machine it did not start and only green power light came on for about 10 seconds and then a beep combination sound came and it shut down. I also made the service representative hear the beep sounds on telephone to diagnose the problem. I was told he is placing a service order request no. 7005985572 and sending motherboard to change and resolve the problem.
    Since then i have  gone through extremely severe hardship caused to me because of pathetic quality of Lenovo service and till date my machine is not repaired.
    I am narrating below the entire sequence of events for your understanding.
    VISIT no.1 dated 12 MAR 14 SO NUMBER 7005964491
    on 12/03/2014,  an engineer named XXXXXX TECH ID WP 1305000 came to attend my machine. He told he had come from Aurangabad Wipro service centre. I was surprised he was not aware of the problem and beep sounds which i had discussed with Lenovo customer care. He told me was he was told that the display is the problem. He checked the machine and concluded that processor of the machine needs to be replaced. He has mentioned in the service report as problem reported = DISPLAY ISSUE and under action taken " CHECK SYSTEM FOUND MOTHER BOARD ISSUE. SO REPLACED MOTHER BOARD BUT SYSTEM BOOTING BUT MAKING BEEPS." He told me processor had to be replaced and placed an order for processor.
    VISIT no.2 dated 19 MAR 14 SO NUMBER 7005776032
    on 19/03/2014, XXXXXX TECH ID WP 1305000 attended to my machine. He could not solve the  problem. In the service report he has written under problem reported = DISPLAY ISSUE and under action taken "DISPLAY ISSU PARTS REPLACED NEED TO MOTHERBOARD
    VISIT no.3 dated 22 MAR 14 SO NUMBER 7003985572
    on 22/03/2014 engineer named XXXXXX TECH ID WP 1303559 along with his senior XXXX attended my machine. He came with new motherboard and tried to solve the problem. He could not solve the problem. He concluded that power supply needs to be replaced. In the service report he has written under problems reported = ISSUE IN MBD/ NO DISPLAY and under action taken he has written REPLACE MBD, BUT ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVVED. WHEN REPLACE MBD SO CONTINUOUS BEEP IN SYSTEM. SO CHECKED PROPERLY. THEN ISSUE FOUND WITH SMPS. SMPS CHECKED WITH MULTIMETER SMPS IS NOT PROPERLY OUTPUT VOLTAGE. SO REQUIRED SMPS.
    VISIT no.4 dated 26 MAR 14 SO NUMBER 7005991923
    on 26/03/2014 engineer XXXXX ID WP 1303559 along with another person attended my machine. He could not resolve the problem. In service report he has written under problems reported =  NO DISPLAY and under action taken = WHEN START SYSTEM COMING 4 BEEPS 4 TIMES & 5TH BEEP IS THREE TIME & SYSTEM IS SHUT DOWN. CHECKED SYSTEM PROPERLY. 1ST TIME RECEIVED MBD BUT BEEP SOUND CAME & SYSTEM IS SHUT DOWN, 2ND TIME RECEIVED PROCESSOR BUT SAME ISSUE. 3RD TIME AGAIN  RECEIVED MBD BUT SAME ISSUE LAST TIME RECEIVED SMPS BUT ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED. CHECK ALL SETTING CHECK MINIMUM COMPONENTS & CALL CC TEAM LENOVO MR. NAWAZ( 30314)
    Today is 27/03/2014 and my machine is down since 08/03/2014. I am a practicing Chartered Accountant and this machine was my desk PC. I cannot express in words the hardship that I am facing due to my machine breakdown. To add to that, I can only hope whether you can understand the professional stress I am going through because this is the period of March ending. All my work is in the machine. I am unable to service my clients properly and have to work extremely hard to provide service to my clients. All this because of poor, insensitive and casual nature of service offered by Lenovo. I cant believe, such a big company like lenovo has outsourced its service to such vendors such as wipro and impact infotech where they employ amateur and un-skilled bunch of engineers who dont have a clue of what the problem is let alone having the ability to resolve it. It has taken 4 visits and 18 days...still counting...they cant even diagnose what the problem is?
    I am extremely disappointed with the quality of product & service lenovo has sold to me. After going all through this hardship, I have decided that I do not want to continue using this lenovo machine any more and in future as well. I WANT AN IMMEDIATE REFUND OF THE MONEY THAT I PAID TO BUY THIS MACHINE RS.36,250/- I am attaching the invoice of the purchase of this machine AVADHOOT COMPUTER SOLUTIONS, JALNA INVOICE NO.268 DATED 16th MAY 2013. I am also attaching the copies of 4 service reports issued to me by engineers as mentioned above. I am also attaching the emails that I have received from lenovo regarding service orders.
    I request you to consider my hardship and stress I am going through due to Lenovo Machine and poor service of your company and its service agents.
    I Request you to consider my request of taking back the faulty machine and issue me a refund of Rs.36,250 on URGENT BASIS as I have to purchase another machine to resume my professional work.

  • IPhone 4S battery discharging Way Too FAST

    Hello,
    to my utter disappointment the battery life or better the life of a charge of the iPhoone 4S battery is deplorably short. I have read all the negative comments and I had been forewarned by the salesperson that the this might happen (he works part time for the phone company that sold me the phone and part time freelances setting up iPhones for corporate use. And in his experience battery life varies greatly depending on if the battery was treated correctly at the factory, what version battery it was etc. And in his opinion the quality of the components Apple builds into it's hardware (harddrives, batteries etc.) are not cutting edge at all – as one might expect taken all the hubbub Apple creates around it's products – but cheap run-of-the-mill stuff.)
    So, I feel a lot like Apple does not live up to it's self-created reputation and standards of delivering top-notch hard- and software – for a hefty price, that is.
    I have disabled as many of the location-based services as possible, only activating them as needed. I have turned off any and all of the auto-update, selfcheck, -connect etc. features. I do not receive emails, I do not Twitter, Facebook or whatever Social Media stuff to save energy. Still, the battery discharges at a ridiculously fast pace. E.g. a reminder message (displaying on the startup screen as soon as I unlock the iPhone – unused all night): 25% of the energy level is being used up by that. A lot of the fancier apps using location based services or GPS apps are depleting the battery within an hour or even less (hiking, biking, jogging appps). So a lot of the much vaunted versatility of the iPhone falls short for me because I cannot use those apps without wasting too much energy.
    As I said before, I am very disappointed!

    We've been to the Verizon store on Mary Esther cutoff in Ft Walton Beach three times now. The first time they said to make sure no apps were running and eliminate those we didn't need. We did that. The second time we were met by a person who told us no one had that problem and it was Apple. The manager then came over and was very nice, suggesting we try to backup the phone to our laptop, reset the phone to factory, and restore. We've done that three times. We've also tried renaming our router access point twice.
    We go today and tell the female rep that we still have the issue. She says no one at Verizon has ever heard of it and there's nothing they can do. I ask if we could get another phone since it was under warranty (April 10 was our anniversary) when we first brought it in, or replace it with the insurance we pay $8.18 per month for. She said no on the warranty, and sure for $169 deductible. She threw it back on Apple. Clearly not happy customers. If I didn't have a year left I'd be swapping providers today.

  • Why can you NOT get a straight forward answer on upgrading to Edge?

    On Saturday morning I called customer care with a SIMPLE question about how the Edge Program works. The lady I spoke with gave me information that didn't make sense and told me one of my lines could move to edge and the other could only after 6 months of on-time payments. That didn't make sense to me, how could one be eligible and not the other when the explanation of WHEN would be eligible is contingent upon 6 months payments. I was so irritated I started shopping at other carriers to see what their "Edge" like programs work like and was considering switching carriers. So, I called back and spoke with another guy to find out what my ETF's were and he informed me that I COULD upgrade both lines to a Note 4 for about $5 above what my bill is a mo. each with all of the discounts applied. I told him that I would go to a Verizon store and probably upgrade instead of cancelling. So, I went to the store and was treated TERRIBLY!! I was told that I could not move both of my lines to the edge program with the Note 4. I was told I could move to Edge with both lines but one would have to be a Droid and the other could be whatever phone I wanted. I was blown away with yet another piece of information that was not matching up with what I was told. He said I could call customer care and see if they could do anything. I was BLOWN away that a corporate Verizon store would just turn me away (which was extremely demeaning and embarrassing in front of their other customers) to call customer care again and tell me my best option would be to cancel if I wanted a new phone for the line I wanted to upgrade. So, I called customer care again and spoke with another lady who correctly informed me (I think) of how it works and stated there was nothing she could do on the line that was not eligible which should have been told in the previous conversation with the guy I spoke with. One thing struck me as odd, she said the phone is on a lease with Edge so the phone is never yours, which is something NO ONE mentioned at any point in any prior conversation. So, is that true? I now know where I stand with upgrading but my original questions about how Edge works are still not fully answered and what the last rep stated brings up other questions. If it's "leased" what happens if it's broken or lost? Anyway, I was looking for what I thought was a straight forward answer to a question about how Edge works, how much it costs, and are my lines eligible, etc. and wasted a good hour on the phone and another two driving to a store just to get turned away like as though no one even cared! The last lady I spoke with seemed to care but I'm blown away with the TERRIBLE customer service and COMPLETE lack of ownership. Why can no one take the feedback and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT and then answer my questions about the Edge program. Bottom line, I'm not looking for a freebie upgrade (though maybe I should for all of the time wasted due to incorrect/inaccurate information). but I'm blown away that no one wants to do anything.
    That all being said, can someone on here explain how Edge works with the discounts and is the phone really a "leased" phone? Pretty sad that I'm resorting to forums to ask other customers how it works but would appreciate any info anyone can share. I'm probably going to port both of my numbers to AT&T if it is true they are a lease and due to all of the terrible customer service.

    I just saw in another post that if it's an "early" edge I would have to turn in the phones. No one told me that either and now I wonder if just forget Edge and port out. What's the advantage of doing Edge with all this confusion and red tape? Is an early edge considered early if you're upgrading with Edge prior to the contract end on the current phone? Verizon Customer Care and Stores REALLY NEED to be up front about this stuff! From what I see here and what others are going through Edge is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE program.

  • Lync 2013 /w Edge not working properly (internal/external same domain name and all "external" users"

    I've got some issues with a Lync 2013 setup.
    The config consists of 2 lync servers. One FE and one Edge. All seems to work except audio in meetings and Sip.
    The setup is like this (fake ip's used):
    Front End:
    Internal IP: 172.16.0.10
    External IP: x.x.185.10
    All ports open in Cisco ASA
    internal AD DNS: dialin/lync/meet/lyncdiscover to Front end internal ip. edge/lsedge/sip points to edge internal ip
    EDGE:
    Interal IP: 172.16.0.11 (no gateway configured)
    External IPS: x.x.185.11, x.x.185.12, x.x.185.13
    All external IP's are direct internet facing, no NAT (a firewall is in place).
    All external interfaces are using a wildcard certificate.
    All server are running in a remote data center, so basically no internal users. We all connect to the external interfaces. The Windows domain name (AD) is the same as our External DNS (companyname.com).
    Autodiscover works, we can logon, chat but there is no audio. The audio test failes. Also SIP is not working with a sip trunk.
    External DNS: sip/webconf/av are pointing to their external ip's. sipexternal is a cname to sip. lyncdiscover/lync/dialin/meet all point to the Frond end External ip.
    _sip._tls/_sipfederationtls.tcp/_xmpp-server.tcp all point to the sip.companyname.com ip.
    I just can't figure out what is wrong.

    @PaulB_NZ Thanks for the input. In my opinion the FE does need an external IP. How else will you be able to connect if you are a remote worker?
    The Edge is (asfar as i know) needed for Enterprise voice and Federation with other (external) sip domains. It's not needed for basic (chat/video/whiteboard etc) Lync functionality for both internal and external (remote) users.
    The Edge is to communicate with services/users outside the origanisation.
    I do still think that the basic topology (FE with internal IP and Nat'ed external ip working with an Edge with internal IP and 1 external IP nat'ed to 3 DMZ ip's) is correct in this case.
    I can be wrong and in that case would like to be pointed to the correct configuration.

  • Can´t copy vector from Illustrator to Edge Animate

    In the newest version this should be a function, but nothing happens for me when I copy the object in Illustrator and try to paste it in Edge Animate. Any help?
    Another question would be why the filters are even among the tools in Edge when they don´t work on anything, neither vectors not photos.. and also, texts often don´t end up correct in the preview. Seriously, I work as a graphic news designer professionally and pay money for your products. This is not OK.

    That´s how you went about it in the older versions. In the New 2014 Edge you´re supposed to be able to just ctrl+C a vector from Illustrator and ctrl-V it in Edge. That´s one of the big new features. But nothing happens for me and there doesn´t seem to be any one else who experiences this problem since I haven´t found anything on it when googling.
