8.2 work hours/day ?

Is there a possibility to create a 8.2 work hours/day working day?
The customer dont wants to use 4*8 hours + 1* 9 hours for creating a 41 work hours week.

Tell the Client is not possible
But if they insist to create like this than tell them you have to request Oracle to create an instance of 8.2 work hours a day and that cost money
Most of the project manager they do know P of the programming and they ask for things which are not pratically possible

  • In iCal, "Available Meeting Times" greys out working hours one day off, MS Exchange

I am using iCal, accessing an MS Exchange server. When setting up a meeting, "Available Meeting Times" greys out the non-working hours of potential meeting participants. However, the days are one day off. E.g. the working hours of my collegues are displayed are Tuesday-Sunday instead of Monday-Friday. The dates and times of meetings are relayed correctly. Only the display of the working hours seems to be off.
Needless to say that my collegues are using Windows Outlook, and everything works there.

I still have the same issue. Had it ever since at least 2010 and meanwhile we switched Exchange-Servers and I'm on Mavericks, but still. Looks to me as if iCal requests something like "getWorkDays" from teh Server. The Server probably replies [2,3,4,5,6]. When the week starts on Sunday, this is perfectly fine. But if the Week starts on Monday, this will give you Tue-Sat as available Days. So it might be a bug in either Exchange or iCal to treat that information correctly, but I'm not obv. not sure about that.

  • Project Resource Calendars for onshore and offshore (different working hours)

    Advice please.
As with many companies we use Project 2010 with onshore and offshore resources.
    Facts are as follows:
    Onshore resource – 09:00 – 17:00 – 35 hour week
    Offshore resource – 08:00 – 18:00 – 40 hour week
These resources are in different time zones; however that element is not an issue.
The problem seems to be with resource calendars.  Resource calendars are setup as per above and assigned to appropriate resources in EPM/Project Server 2010 - however could be local for same issue.
The problem is that work is reflected correctly in hours or days but not both.
So looking at Task usage table.
    For example:
Typing in hours for Onshore and Offshore resources on any task is correct.
So 7 for onshore and 9 for offshore.  However when you can the work view in options so that work is entered in days, its incorrect for offshore.
Same hours for both but incorrect days.  Basically the resource calendar does not seem to have an impact.
The Plan default working times can be set to either schedule but either way one or the other type of resource is out.
For instance :  Offshore resource 9 hours should equate to 1day. However it equates to 1.29 days.
Which would be correct if that resource was on an onshore cal.
    My assumption is as follows:
Set the Project default hours to 08:00 – 18:00 – 9 hour days, 40 hour week.
This allows offshore to work there hours as the project plan is effectively open for business.
Onshore resources should then be restricted to their resource calendar meaning that they only work 7 hours per day regardless of the plan indicating 9 hour days.
    Hope that makes sense...
Any thoughts would be much appreciated…..
    -CL.

    Hi,
Everything you write is right, and your confusion only stems from the misunderstanding of how Project defined the "day" as a time unit.
Matter of fact, Project uses for its calculations only ONE time unit which is the MINUTE.
Of course, that implies the HOUR is a usable unit as well - an hour being 60 minutes isn't questioned by anyone.
OTOH, your post illustrateds tha a definition for  day is not so obvious; Project's definition is that a day is always equal to an hour times the parameter "hours per day" in the options. So what a day is, is totally independent from any calendar, Project,
Resource or Task calendar. Within that definition the values you see are "right".
But the good news is that your other assumption, quote:
Onshore resources should then be restricted to their resource calendar meaning that they only work 7 hours per day regardless of the plan indicating 9 hour days.
That is true. Work is planned according to available working time in the appropriate calendar.
My advice is to not use the day as planning unit in any view: the hour will better allow to understand how Project is planning the tasks.
    Greetings,

  • Daily working hours calculation but Half an hour flexi before start of planned time & shortfall hours calculation

    Dear All,
I want to calculate daily working hours but Half an hour flexi before start of planned time & shortfall hours calculation if a person didn't completed 9 hours job.
We have different types of DWS, PWS & WSR for different PS/PSA & EG/ESG groupings.
We have a requirement for Executives/Officers (E0-E8/ S1-S2) for only one PSA (1100) for only one DWS(GFLX). In this requirement I want to calculate daily working hours but Half an hour flexi before start of planned time & shortfall hours calculation if a person didn't completed 9 hours job.
Please see the requirement and my configured DWS and PCR's in detail with example and suggest me the solution:-
    Overview
I want to calculate (Please take the reference from DWS screenshot)
daily working hours, but starting from first Begin Tolerance Time
Shortfall of hours if 9 hours not completed, but again starting from first Begin Tolerance Time, although employee has come before Begin Tolerance Time
I've configured one DWS as below,
    Requirement:-
The planned shift timings is 9:30 - 18:30. Employees should work and complete 9 hrs in a day, but this 9 hours should be counted only from 9:00 (i.e. Begin tolerance time). It means. In time should not consider before 9:00.
    1. Suppose 1st day employee punch In time is 9:00 then he has to work up to 18:00, then only 9 hours of working will be completed & no shortfall will be calculated.
In above case, if Out time is 17:00 then shortfall will be calculated 1.0 hours, because his working hours will be counted 8 hrs only.
    2. Suppose 2nd day employee punch In time is 9:45 then he has to work up to 18:45, then only 9 hours of working will be completed & no shortfall will be calculated.
In above case, if Out time is 18:00 then shortfall will be calculated 0.75 hours, because his working hours will be counted 8.25 hrs only.
    3. Suppose 3rd day employee punch In time is 8:30 then he has to work up to 18:00, then only 9 hours of working will be completed & no shortfall will be calculated. (In between 9:00 - 18:00 ). Here In time is 8:30 but system should consider and count from 9:00.
In above case, if Out time is 17:30 then shortfall will be calculated 0.5 hours, although he has worked 9 hrs.
    4. Suppose 4th day employee punch In time is 10:11 then he will be marked as Late Come(as per DWS) and then he has to work up to 19:11, then only no shortfall will be calculated, because he completed 9 hours.
Now the below PCR is calculating Daily Working Hours,
Now the below PCR is calculating Late Coming Hours,
    Overview
I know that use of begin tolerance time is different in from my requirement. Please guide me if this DWS configuration will not work.
As of now system is able to calculate Daily Working Hours (but not from the begin tolerance time), Late coming days and Late coming hours, but shortfall is not getting calculate properly.
Please give me the idea how to write PCR for these requirement, I know that my ZDHR PCR (Daily Working Hours) needs to change or replace to fulfill this requirements.
If you want any other details please let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak

    Hi Sankarsan,
After changing the function PTIP and I used GEN in PAR2, because in PAR3 error was coming.
After the changes PCR is processing as below for three different IN time :
    1. when IN time is 8:45
and in this case, ZES table No Time type is showing which is wrong because he worked from 8:45 to 18:30 it means 9:30 hours (calculation should start from 9:00 am).
    2. when IN time is 9:15
and in this case, ZES table Time type 9002 is showing 9.25 hours which is correct because he worked 9.25 hours.
    3. when IN time is 10:30
and in this case, ZES table Time type 9003 is showing 9.00 hours which is wrong because he worked only 8 hours.
    Pls suggest.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak

  • Updating work hours

    Greetings everyone,
I'm trying to update a field in a table with the total work hours in a specific month. To achieve this I've tried using a piece of SQL found in several other threads to retrieve the number of work days in a month. This doesn't work properly in my case however, since the subquery doesn't know the reference to a field on a higher level. Here is the SQL:
    UPDATE PS_EMPL_WRK_HRS Z SET WRK_HRS = (
    SELECT Z.STD_HOURS * (SELECT COUNT(*)
        from (select trunc(Z.EFFDT, 'mm')+level-1 dt
               FROM   DUAL
               connect by level <= last_day(Z.EFFDT) - trunc(Z.EFFDT, 'mm')+1
where to_char(dt, 'dy' ) not in ('sat', 'sun'))  END AS WRK_HOURS
    FROM PS_GENL_DEDUCT_NLD GD
    WHERE   Z.EMPLID = GD.EMPLID
      AND Z.EMPL_RCD = GD.EMPL_RCD
      AND (GD.DEDUCTION_END_DT >= Z.EFFDT OR GD.DEDUCTION_END_DT IS NULL)
)The error message will be ORA-00904: "Z"."EFFDT": invalid identifier, because the subquery to retrieve the number of workdays in a month doesn't know about the Z alias.
The PS_EMPL_WRK_HRS contains the EMPLID, EFFDT and STD_HOURS. For each employee the record contains one row for each last day of the month, which is stored in the EFFDT field.
    Any help would be appreciated!

I want to use numbers '09 to calculate the hours I've worked, preferably each week. However, I'd like this list to continue over time, rather than making a new table every week, IE I can see what days I worked 3 months ago and how many hours I did.
What I want to have is a chart, in which I can insert my clock in and clock out times, and after every 7th day it will give me a total of my worked hours.
Here is a screenshot of a layout I'd like, however I'm open to better suggestions! It's all just typed in, but I'd like it to be auto complete of course.
    http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/7370/screenshot20091129at230.png
Is this possible? In the future I'd like it to be able to calculate my pay aswell, maybe with a forumla to minus the 1 hour of lunch inbetween my clock in and clock out, however this could wait as I'm very new to this program.
    All help is GREATLY appreciated,
    Thanks, Lewis.

    Hi Lewis,
The first three columns must contain data recognized by Numbers as Date and Time information.
I would skip the empty spaces in the date list. Enter the first date in A2 and use the Cell (format) Instpector to set the date format to match your example.
Then click on A2, grab the small round handle at the bottom right of the cell and drag down to fill in the rest of the dates.
The Duration column (D) could contain a simple formula:
    =Clock out 'Sun, Nov 29, 2009'-Clock in 'Sun, Nov 29, 2009'
But in that form it will generate an error message in the weekly sum for any week in which you didn't work (or at least record an in and out time) on every day. To avoid that, use the formula below:
    =IF(ISBLANK(Clock out 'Sun, Nov 29, 2009'),"",Clock out 'Sun, Nov 29, 2009'-Clock in 'Sun, Nov 29, 2009')
+Note: Construct the formula using the Function Browser to insert the functions. Click on the cells whose values are to be used. The labels above are those that were generated as I constructed the formulas; typing them in may not work in your table.+
Fill down column D by dragging the handle as above.
+With the data in your sample table, you will get a "-10h 0m" result in D2 as all times in this row are recorded as being on November 29, 2009. Quit before midnight. (Or adjust your start and stop times to both fall on the same day.)+
E8 (and every seventh cell in E after than) will use the
SUM function to add the times for the past seven days.
    =SUM(D2:D8)
To Fill down column E, select the seven cells E2:E8, then grab and drag the handle down the column.
You should get mostly empty cells, with a number or a duration appearing in every seventh row.

  • Time updation for Support desk message and business calender working hours

    Hi Experts,
I would like to know how to set the time updation of Support desk message in CRM_DNO_MONITOR. After i receive a new message in it, I can see the from timing and to timing (even after changing the status of message) as 00:00:00. Is there any standard job to automatically update the timing of message?
Also i would like to know, how to set the working hours for various days. Lets say i want to set my business hours for Monday from 10am to 6pm and for Tuesday as 9am to 5pm.
    Suitable points will be rewarded.
    Thanks in advance,
    Naresh Dodeja.

    Hi,
The reason is "created by me" selects the role "Creator" of a message/notification.
There are three roles "Creator", "Contact" or "Reporter" and "Responsible" or "Processor".
The creator is identified by his user name and the others by their BP-ID.
Therefore using the report "created by me" does not work if your users are defined for BPgen only.
That it works you have additionally to define in BP the role "BUP003 - Employee".
You find in the transaction BP for "BUP003 - Employee" in the tab "identfication" a field "User Name".
If you enter the User-ID the user  has in the Solution Manager then it works.
    Good look!
    Best regards,
    Adelbert

  • Resource availability during Non-Working Hours and Weekends

    Hi Gurus,
Aim: Make the Resource available during Non-Working Hours and Weekends
    Requirement: CRP functionality enabling
In CRC2 I have selected capacity tab and in capacity header under 'Change Interval and Shifts' button. I have Inserted a new Interval period and given the validity from/to dates(Non-Working day - Saturday) and Saved.
When i execute the Capacity Planning CM01, there is no change. The Resource availability still shows as "0"hrs for this particular date and for rest of the days it shows as 8hrs.
I have checked the same even after executing the MRP, No change in Capacity Planning Overview - Still the available Capacity Showas as 0
Please guide me, how can i use my resource during the holidays. Means make the system understand that the defined day is a working day though it is holiday as per factory calendar
Please correct me whether am i missing any settings or i should follow some other logic
    Regards,
    Tam

    Hi Partha,
In workdays i dont have any such option "2"
As per standard list I could see only 3 entries in the possible values(F4) popup
"Blank" - Working days according to factory calendar
    "0" - Non-Working days(Overrides factory Calendar)
    "1" - orking days(Overrides factory Calendar)
I have even tried with option "0" and "1" its still the same, when i enter the period From and To date the fields for the entries Shift start and end date, workday, Shift Seq, Length of the shift, No.of shifts.........are jumping to the next line item.
Because of which i understand that the entered values is not corresponds to the newly defined period
Pls guide me to how to make the resource available during non working days

  • Working Hours

    Hi All,
I've been using this formula to monitor the amount of hours between two dates that have elapsed excluding weekends:
    DateDiff ("s", {campaign.date_approved}, {campaign.date_closed}) -
        (DateDiff ("ww", {campaign.date_approved}, {campaign.date_closed}, crSaturday)2460*60) -
         (DateDiff ("ww", {campaign.date_approved}, {campaign.date_closed}, crSunday)2460*60)
    ) /60/60;
But i've now been told that the hour calculations should only apply to working hours 9 to 5.
Does any one know how i would do this?  I was thinking of something like subtracting 80 from the total (16 none workable hrs per day * 5 days) but not sure if this is correct?
    Any ideas any1?
    Many Thanks,
    Dave.

Good work by Jyoti, use the formula, set StDate and EndDate as your start and end dates, I would have given 50 points to Jyoti if I could.

  • Fixed Duration Tasks work hours not updating properly

I have a task of 2 days duration which is fixed duration; with 1 resource assigned when it is 30%, I add 2 more resources to it as even though duration is same work hours need to be increased. But I don't see any impact on work even when 2 resources
are added. M I missing something

Just check if the check box - Effort Driven is checked for that task, as in this case whatever are the hours in Work field that gets equally distributed between all resouces (in your case the newly added and existing resource). Uncheck that box
and then assign resources; this should fix your calculations for the expected hrs. adding to Work field.
