80 Party conference

Hi
One of our partner is having CUCM 8.6.2 and meeting place 8.0 & currently they are having 40 party conference license, they want to upgrade to 80 party conference.
Please suggested what is need required to upgrade the same...
Regards

What protocol are you running on the GW??
MGCP? H323?
If H323, have you properly configured the codecs??? H323 uses G729 by default if nothing is configured.
CUCM CFB only supports G711 and for MOH to work with other codecs you need to enable them under IPVMS service parameters.

  • SPA IP Phone - * (Star Key) not working using 3rd party conference service

Hi - I have an SPA 504G  with SIP service and use a third party conference service to host conference call.  The 3rd party service requires me to log in as the Leader and to do this I have to press the * key.  This doesn't work possibly becuse * has been configured as a short action code.
Does anyone know of a way to disable short codes (*) whilst a call is in progress?
    Thanks

This doesn't work possibly becuse * has been configured as a short action code.
Then deconfiguration of such action codes and/or relevant supplemental services should solve your problem.
It may help you to know that I have no problem using * against remote IVR with the following configuration (SPA508G with firmware 7.5.4):

  • Can we implement multi party conference using jmf?

    Hello every body
I want to implement the multyparty conference i finished the signalling part with SIP now i want to transmit the voice that conference. I have the receivers and trasmiters with me for individuals users but i need the multi casting part. How to multi cast the voice or vedio to the other partiipants of that conference once the conference server gets the voice or vedio. Kindly provide me the neccessary docs. If any sample code is there then well and good.
    Thanking you in advane
    Sreenath Kulkarni.

Embedding the video or using streaming video doesn't necessarily change the total number of megabytes the end user has to download.
6-10 megabytes doesn't sound like a lot to me.  I would be checking the actual available bandwidth at the other end to see if the issue might be there.  Remember that many users don't actually have as much bandwidth as they think they have because they're actually sharing it with a lot of other people.  And in places like India or China the time of day when you are trying to download can have a huge impact on the time it takes.  When I was in Beijing a couple of years ago it was useless trying to download anything at certain hours of the day because of the load.
I don't believe Captivate creates any extra overhead.  Whether SWF or HTML5 will be smaller is easy enough to find out.  Just create a course in Cp6 and output it to both formats then measure the total filesize of each.  That's a pretty good apples for apples test.

  • Conference Calling

Is it possible to add a 3rd party  to an incoming call from my Q10?  If so, how?

Get 2 or more people to use 3 way calling and call each other....
Use a third party conference call service, where everyone calls one number and "signs in" to the conference call

  • Recent MCI to Verizon Residential Service conversion - Terrible

    Hi Folks,
It is my understanding that Verizon staff members do review the posting here. I hope that this is the case as I would like to share many issues that I have experienced to help improve the process and services offered by Verizon.
First, ALL of the folks that I spoke with were very pleasant on the phone including someone in India! This is about all the good news that I can offer.
Background - Happily using MCI residential services over a number of years with two accounts. MCI worked great and performed all services in a clean and efficient manner.
Forced to leave MCI services and advised via letter that Verizon would pick up in the foot steps of MCI - I also understood that I could select other phone service providers other then Verizon if I choose to. Now I wish I had!!!!!
Typical MCI services that I had:
    Caller ID
    Call Waiting Caller ID
    Three party Conference Call
    Caller announce
    Speed Dial
    Voice Mail
Call Waiting, No Answer Transfer to multiple locations with Caller announce (managed by me the user)
Email Caller ID info (Sent to places I managed i.e. Black Berry - pop mail etc)
Internet Voice Mail pickup & Play - Store
Fast Access to Voice Mail from local phone (Dial 00)
Fast Access to Voice Mail from cell phone
Easily talk to live person for any variety of issues - Trouble - Billing - Competitive discounts - Promotions
Initial conversion to MCI (ALL service available and ready the day of conversion!!!!!!!!
Now the Verizon story and Oh what a story they weave.
Contacted the conversion Team as per the conversion letter TWICE two accounts.
Discussed all of the features that I had with MCI and Verizon's features & price (Did this twice - Two accounts)
Told by Verizon conversion department that 99% of the services are the same - NOT TRUE! Further the services were included in the discounted package (NOT TRUE!)
No date provided for the conversion
Call Waiting Caller ID was not provisioned
Speed Dial is not part of the package - More dollars and wait to have this added after service was turned up
Speed Dial is crippled and not very useful - No pause control so I can not program access number pause pause pause then account code or access number or pin number etc. Most Verizon folks I talked to have no clue as to what pause is in a speed dial string (this concept has been around for over 20 years - What is with Verizon?
Three party Conf call is NOT included in package Additional cost and wait to have this added after service was turned up
Call Waiting, No Answer Transfer to multiple locations (managed by me the user) is not available
Caller announce not part of package
Told that Email Caller ID info (Sent to places I managed i.e. Black Berry - pop mail etc) is not available - Found out from friends that have Verizon service that it is available via Verizon Call Assist
Contacted Verizon one day after orders placed to insure that I would have Verizon Call Assistant - Still waiting a week later - placed over 40 calls to numbers provided by Verizon (pass me on to someone or something else i.e. automated talking systems and 12 hours of on the phone over three days!!!! Most people that I spoke to have no clue what Verizon Call Assistant is, much less getting info or placing order for it - Even though it is FREE and part of service if you like.
Verizon services turned up randomly over the past week - What happened to Your are now on Verizon and your service are ALL available!
Additional note - After holding for almost an hour to connect with a live person in the Verizon Call Assist group - I was advised that the email they offer for Voice Mail deposits Only Indicates that you have a voice mail and does not include any Caller ID info - Since this service is still not turned up I am expressing what I was told. This means I am back to the drawing board - I really need to know who called remotly (IE Black Berry etc) whether they left a VM or not. Time to start looking for a new phone company....
I'm sure I left out a few things here and there.
My frustration level is beyond belief and it's hard to put into words that are acceptable for a forum. @#$%#$%&$^#%^
I use Verizon Wireless and have for many years - They have been top notch so I thought the incumbent wireline provider (Verizon) would have its act together. Boy was I wrong.
I invite any and all responses especially any Verizon folks that really want to do something about these issues - I would be happy to discuss in detail any and all issues presented.
    Ren

Just a thought about Speed Dial -   even if there were some way to program in a pause I do not see how this would help you in dialing account numbers or pin numbers because the Speed Dial service does not actually produce call tones but simply enables the user to dial a stored phone number by pressing 1 or 2 digits instead of 10.

    It's true.
These two systems together (or independently?) should not be used for mission critical systems, ie the specialized systems that these run on must be like 100% or six sigma or whatever.

  • IChat AV 3 works for me

    Hi 3 Chatters --
I decided to post this in the clear rather than posting it separately to several of you who are reporting problems others have reported to me in several (approximately 10) multi-party test chats in which I have participated since installing Tiger on Friday evening. I plan to update it below as merited.
Day 1: By Saturday evening I had learned the following:
    1) I have now connected with a G4 and BOTH of us were getting 30 fps. Unable to determine why this ONE is faster than the 15 fps numbers I was getting immediately after upgrading to Tiger, but 30 fps is not NOW limited to G5s with me.
    2) Have now connected with a G4 experiencing low (1 fps) frame rates and low bandwidth (15 Kbps). Turning off Virex helped, but still left numbers of 1 fps and 30 Kbps. Permissions Repair, Reinstall Tiger by Archive & Install, and another Permission Repair FIXED the problem. 20 fps and 350 Kbps with me now.
    3) My QuickTime Streaming speed was unchanged by the update, and has not posed a problem for my end.
    4) Have now tested with multiple party videos and conclude that, at my available bandwidth, approximately 450 Kbps as reported by Connection Doctor, adding the 4th party degrades video quality (fuzzy) more than adding numbers 2 and 3.However, all participants in the multi-party conferences agree it is a WOW !
    5) Have chatted with two buddies who did permissions repair, updated, and then repaired permissions again. Both said the upgrade went smoothly.
    6) Have chatted with several who had problems getting iChat AV 3 going after using the standard "Update" method to install Tiger without any additional OS X maintenance. Some got going again by doing Permissions Repair after iChat AV 3 failed to launch or connect. Others had to repair permissions, reinstall Tiger using A & I and then repair permissions again to get it working. I do not know whether anything less labor intensive would have corrected, but that seems to have done the trick for those with whom I have chatted.
    I used the following method.
    a) Backed up my data (on my Panther 10.3.9 Mac)
    b) Repaired Permissions
    c) Repaired the Hard Disk
    d) Forced the Chrons
    e) Repaired Permissions
    f) Inserted the Tiger DVD and used the standard, easy, fast, 2-Step Upgrade
    g) Repaired permissions
    h) Restarted my Mac
    i) Launched iChat AV 3 and it worked.
Connection Doctor frame and bit rates are still somewhat slower for me than the were in 2.1, but I am getting better rates today than I got when I first upgraded last night. Unexplained as to why.
I later found that I had to reinstall my printer drivers, but iChat AV 3 worked from the beginning.
From the above, I conclude that one should perform OS X maintenance and repair permissions
    b before AND after
using the "Update" method to install Tiger. If you do not want to do those steps, I suggest the A & I method instead of Update.

    Day 6 Status: Thursday
    15. More chats from around the world reveal that iChat AV 3 seems to be a power user's app. (No surprise after reading Apples Mac OS X 10.4: iChat AV system requirements, I suppose.)
Some users who could not connect to me via video (even one on one) have still not been able to connect with me. Most of these users are afflicted with the "insufficient bandwidth" problem (14.) mentioned above. Sadly, I have no new info for them. Happily, Mountan Mac (see post above) and the others posting there are offering all the help that is available for those of you effected.
However, some other users who could not connect to me via video (even one on one) could do so after quitting iChat AV 3 and launching it again. Most of these users had included iChat AV 3 in "Login Items" in System Preferences > Accounts. When they removed iChat AV 3 from Login Items, restarted their Macs, and manually launched iChat AV 3, they had no trouble getting video connection on the first try. This seems more prevalent on G4 users, but happened once or twice even on single processor G5s.
Moreover, some iChat AV 3 users who
    b could
connect via one on one video, but whose camera icon was flat (as opposed to iChat AV 3's new "stacked / shadowed" icon) could, therefore, not be included in multi-party conferences. After quitting iChat AV 3 and launching it again, their multi-party icons and multi-party conference capability returned.
Some of these users, too, had included iChat AV 3 in "Login Items" in System Preferences > Accounts and got improved results by deleting their iChat AV 3 Login Item. Some others, however, particularly some dual processor G5 users who encountered this issue, were running
    b several
(up to seven) applications while trying to do iChat AV 3 video conferencing! Closing the other (not iChat AV 3) applications did NOT remedy the problem. However, when they closed the other apps, quit iChat AV 3, and relaunched it, the problem went away.
From this testing experience, it appears to me that iChat AV 3 makes decisions about whether and how much video chat power is available
    b when it launches.
It apparently does not change until iChat AV 3 is launched again.
To give iChat your processor's maximum capability, I suggest that you:
15.1 - Do NOT include iChat AV 3 as a Login Item, and
15.2 - Close other apps BEFORE launching iChat AV 3
I have not actually tested this, but a couple of people have asked about making video recordings of their multi-party chats using iChatRecorder or SnapZ Pro.
(Trying to use QuickTime 7 Pro to record iChat AV 3 results in a "Camera in use by another application" error in iChat AV 3.)
I have not hear back any reports (positive or negative) yet, but this, too, would seem to me to be a substantial load on your processor .
15.3 - If you try recording an iChat AV 3 video session, be sure to test to see whether your Mac has enough processing power to run the recorder app and iChat AV 3 simultaneously.
Please post back and tell us whether recording the session works for you.

  • Re: Help on Cisco UC 520 Configuration

    Dear All,
I am new to UC 520 Call Manager Express and Cisco Unity Express. I would like help in solving the following problems encountered during the config of the latter:
    1. Call Transfer
    - When I transfer a call, I need to know if the other person to whom the call will be transferred is available or not,
    - if possible i should be able to put the current person on hold and call the other person and see if he is available or not before doing the transfer
    - if ever a call is being transferred and the other person is busy or unavailable, the call should be reverted back or forwarded to another number instead of going to voicemail.
    2. Configuring phones for call conferencing.
    Please note the following details:
Unity Express Version being used: 3.0
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
    1. In order to get transfers working the way you like, ensure you create ephone-dns as 'dual-line' - this allows one call to be on hold whilst a 'transfer' call is made outbound. Also ensure transfer-system full-consult is configured under 'telephony-service' mode. Basically transfers then are two-step - whilst on a call, hit transfer then dial the target extension. If they answer, announce the caller and hit 'transfer' again, or hit 'end call' to go back to the original caller.
    2. You can enable three-party conferences by setting 'max-conferences' under telephony-service. It works the same way as transfer; hit 'Confrn' to start whilst on a call, dial another phone, and then when they answer Confrn again to set up the conference.
    Regards
    Aaron

  • UCCX - Control call legs

    Hi guys,
We have a UCCX 8.5 cluster and we want to set up a feature like IVR Rebound: caller talks to agent, and then agent can conference the caller to another IVR (internal or external IVR) for the caller to process the authorization, during the authorization process, agent must be on hold (cannot hear/interupt the authorization process), after the authorization is done (either successful or not), agent is connected to caller again.
Understand that it is not something nature to UCCX, I'm thinking of setting up system like this:
    1. Caller calls to CallCenter and connect to agent.
    2. Agent transfers (transfer, not conference) the call to an IVR script.
    3. IVR accepts the call and put the call on hold. Now the caller is connected to IVR, agent is free.
    4. IVR calls back to agent (as the agent will need to do something with the 2nd IVR) --> we have 3 party conference: IVR, agent, caller.
    5. IVR makes another call to the 2nd IVR (can be external IVR, which is used for authorization) --> we have 4 party conference: IVR, agent, caller, IVR#2.
    6. Agent key in some information needed by IVR#2.
    7. IVR puts agent on hold and unhold the caller so the caller can proceed the authorization himself.
    8. Authorization is done, IVR#2 disconnects, IVR needs to unhold agent so the agent and caller can talk to each other again.
    My questions are:
Q1) In step 6 & 7: can IVR script detects a key sequence to determine when to start putting agent on hold. I'm thinking of Menu Grammar step but not sure if it is OK.
Q2) In step 8: can we catch the disconnection event (when IVR#2 disconnects) by using exception Channel Inactive Exception? I tried but when the IVR2 disconnects, the caller and agent cannot connect to each other but can only hear ringback tone/busy tone.
    Thanks,
    hoanghiep

CCX has no ability to conference separate contacts together so this approach will not work. I can think of two options:
The agent transfers the caller to the authorization IVR at the conclusion of the call and checks for an approval status before processing the order. This is the cleanest approach from a CCX reporting perspective.
The agent transfers the caller to the external IVR which accepts an agent-specific identifier and transfers the caller back to the agent after authorization. You can use CCX or an external platform for this; the experience is essentially the same.

  • ATA 186 Conf calls

I'm trying to set up an ATA 186 so that we can integrate it with our Polycom VCS. The ATA is set up as an SCCP device, and works fine as an analog line. What I need to do though, is set it up to use the BellCore mid-call service, as this seems to be the most "standard" way of initiating a conf call. Thus far I'm having no luck with the params to use to do this. Has anyone done this, and could you share any insite?
    Thanks,
    Alan

The ATA is limited to do 3 party conference call. ATA can support conference call. Please look at section 6.6 of EDCS-148811 for detail instructions.

  • Third party Video conference device conferencing with Cisco SX80

    Hi ALL,
We have Cisco BE6K (Call Manager 10.5), CTS-SX80-IPST60-K9, DX650, 7861, 8861 IP phone, Cisco 2901 Voice Getaway, 3750 Switch and ASA. internet was connected on ASA. SIP connectivity (For DID) connected to Cisco 2901 Voice Getaway.
I need to know cisco best practice and implementation guide on below question:-
    1. How Third party Video conferencing units (LIFESIZE and Polycom) can conference and call with Call Manager IP Phones and SX80. Third party device will not register on MY CUCM.
    2. We have two site. On Sit-1 has own Call Manager 10.5 and Site-2 has own Call Manager 8.X both are reachable. Now How they make a call?
    Thanks
    Gazi Afzalur Rahman

    HI Ayodeji,
    Thank you for valuable update.
    1. On B2B solution :-
    a) Are Third party device needs to register on CUCM or not. What the B2B solution says because that device not register on CUCM?
    b) Which connectivity i need Internet and SIP or Only Internet?
    c) On other site are they need SIP connectivity or Internet ?
    2. Sip trunk between the two clusters are we need SIP connectivity on both site or need only reachability? On this scenario are we need VOICE RT because we have different data connectivity router for both site.
Can You refer any CVD guide of implementation ..
    Thanks In Advance

  • Initiate MeetMe conference from a 3rd party phone

    Hello all,
We have integrated a 3 party SIP phones with CCM 7.1.5. Only 3 party SIP phones and we need use conferences.
We must initiate the meetme conference from any of these phones. How can we do this?
How can we use the MeetMe Service URI : x-cisco-serviceuri-meetme in a 3 party SIP phones?
    Regards,

    Hi Wayne,
It appears that this option is not available natively for 3rd party SIP phones in CUCM yet. Meetme conference can only be initiated through the use of Meetme softkey or Programmable Line Keys (PLKs).

  • Playing Annoucement to called party before conference call starts

    Hi,
I have an interesting requirement here.
My customer wants to play annoucement to the participants of adhoc and meet me conference before bridging them in call. The announcement would be something like this "This call will be recorded, press 1 if you want to join the conference press 0 to hang up". If caller presses '1' then the he should be bridged.
Is it possible to use IVR server for this??
For the adhoc conference this is what I thought:
The conference initiator calls an a number to initiate IVR Script, the script asks him to enter the number to be called(conference participant's number), then the IVR script places call on this number(use "place call function"), once the recipient answers the call, IVR will announce the prompt to him "This call will be recorded, press 1 if you want to join the conference press 0 to hang up".
    Questions:
1.Now how to merge this call with the conference initiator call(as conference call) if recipient presses 1??
2.What treatment can be given to the conference call initiator, for the suration when IVR is placing call out? Can we give him some hold music??
2.Is there any better way? Can I use "Call Consult Transfer" function instead of place "call function"??
3.Will it be easier/possible to use Unity instead of IVR server for this?
4.How can the same be done for meetme conference??
    Thanks

yes that works to use the new contact which set by 'set contact info' step.
So now I am able to play prompt to called number after the call been connected.
But I found I couldn't collect entered digit by Called person if I use Menu step.
For instance, if I use 'Menu' to collect the digit from Called person, then when enter '1', redirect the original (or this new) call flow to reception.
My sub steps within Menu step (using new contact session) seems no working.
    Any thoughts?
General idea is: I can use IVR to place outbound calls, play prompts, then collect digits from called party and make sub call flows decision.
    Thanks
