92010NT_Disk1.zip

http://download-east.oracle.com/otn/nt/oracle9i/9201/92010NT_Disk1.zip

Hi Jeffrey, I am experiencing the same problem. I have downloaded the 92010NT_Disk1.zip file twice and each time the file download has completed successfully. However, when I go to unzip the file, I get an "invalid archive" message. The size of the file on the http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html page is 612802971 bytes (598440 kB) however when I am downloading the file, the message in the dialogue box quotes 584 mB, so there is a discrepancy somewhere.
If you are able to resolve this problem, please post a message to this forum, and I will do the same. Thanks!

Then you can hold down the Alt key and left-click a link.

  • 92010NT_Disk1.zip won't download

Trying to download 92010NT_Disk1.zip (9.2 RDBMS for NT disk 1), and not being successful. Disks 2 and 3 come in fine, but 1 will either die at 99% downloaded, or will complete, but when we try to unzip it, it complains that it's an invalid file type.
Anybody running into this and know how we can fix that? Thanks.

  • 92010NT_Disk1.zip fails to unzip

I have downloaded 92010NT_Disk1.zip as well as the zips for disk2 and 3. Disks 2 and 3 both decompress using PKZIP just fine, but the Disk 1 keeps failing on file 998 of 3204. I downloaded the 92010NT_Disk1.zip a day later, but it continues to fail the same way. The file size on both downloads matches what the web page says they are supposed to be. I'm using a cable modem at 768Kbps.
    The site is: http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html
    The size is: 612,802,971
Anyone know what might be wrong here? Thanks!

I'm running in to a similar error. I've downloaded
    92010NT_Disk1.zip
    92010NT_Disk2.zip
    92010NT_Disk3.zip
    five times now
    from this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html
    I've created C:\9idb_9.2.0.1 folder
    and
    C:\9idb folder w/ subfolders disk1, disk2, disk3
I download 3 zip files to C:\9idb_9.2.0.1 and when I unzip these files to their individual folders they don't unzip all three come back as invalid file archive errors.
The knowlege base and previous answers on the forum w/ regard to this problem, suggests that my FTP dropped out b/c of the difference in file size. However I notice on the link above that
    92010NT_Disk1.zip is
    612,802,971 bytes
when I begin downloading the file, however it prompts progress of ___MB out of 584 MB not 612. Previous downloads of this file have been no greater than 582,162,809 bytes.
After the fifth unsuccessful attempt unzip these files, I tried using Winrar ( http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm ) instead of Winzip because Winrar uses a utility to test the integrity of the archive with a checksum. You will be able to tell if the archive is bad or if it's something else. When I extracting the zip1 file to disk1 path, I got a message reading "the archive is either unknown format or damaged." So I tried unzipping it in the same folder with Winrar, it unzipped the files successfully in the 9idb_9.2.0.1 folder but came back with an "unexpected end of archive" error. Starting to feel a little frustration...
    Help!

This download has been up for some time so it's most likely a problem with the file transfer - did you verify the filesize matches what is posted on the web page?
You may want to use a download manager for this file if you keep getting the error - there are many available. (www.getright.com works pretty well).

It sounds like you may not have it configured properly to use cookies or something else I'm missing but you might want to try this: a) login to OTN from the homepage to make sure your cookie is set b) navigate to the page you need to download from c) launch getright separately d) copy the URL from the download page and paste into Getright (File --> Enter new URL to download) This is assuming you have v 5.0.2
Let us know how it goes.

  • Bad Zip Files

So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
    - Server name download-east.oracle.com
    - Filename 92010NT_disk1.zip
    - Date/Time 8/23/02 4:45 PM
    - Browser + Version IE 6.0
    - O/S + Version Win2K
    - Error Msg CRC errors
Why can't you just make it a lot more small zips. Every time I download I get errors in different parts of the zip w/CRC errors. We could then download 50MB or 100MB pieces and unzip into the folder. Large zips are impractical

    Hi,
(CRC- Cyclic Redundancy check if you get CRC error it means your zip file is corrupt) I also download 6i from same location and it works fine are u using any download manager for downloads.

With the file 92010NT_Disk1.zip I get the Error message as indicated below. The dl itself takes about 3hrs with my connection, so I rather not try it again unless I know for sure it is going to work.

That is what I am doing in effect. I downloaded the Collection from the trial page on the Adobe site. Then created DVDs from that download. It is when copying the files from the DVD that I get the error message. Could there be a problem with my download? If so how do I check?

  • Unable to unzip the downloaded files

So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
After downloaded the 9i for Windows (disk1,disk2,disk3). I cnnot unzip the file. I get the foloowing message from WinZip message box: "The WinZip Wizard cannot open this file; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading again. If you want to add the file to an archive, first create or open the archive, then drop the file again."
I downloaded the file again and still get the same message. What do I need to do? Thank you for your help.

It is quite easy to solve your problem. Double click your disk1 or anyone of the 3 and right click the zipped folder then click on extract all. Do the same for all the 3 disks. You should find at the end exe file on disk1. Good luck

and I download all the files in this page , But i do not know from any file the installing is start and what the meaning of other files, can any one tell me, Please?

         4. Create directories Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3.
         5. cd to Disk1 and unzip the 92010NT_Disk1.zip here.

  • Unable to start intaller for Oracle 9i

I encountered difficulty in installing Oracle9i Release 2 Personal Ed onto my notebook. I was unable to start the installer when I clicked the "setup.exe" file in Disk 1 folder. Nothing happened.
    OS is Windows XP Home.
Here is the sequence of what I did:
    1. I downloaded all the 3 zip files into a folder in D partition. (D drive has 29 GB of free space; C drive has 39 GB of free space)
    A point to note here.
The size of the files that I downloaded were not the same as the ones listed on
the Oracle download website. I tried downloading a couple times, but still the same
result. The files sizes I got were
    598,441 KB for 92010NT_Disk1.zip
    525,005 KB for 92010NT_Disk2.zip
    248,495 KB for 92010NT_Disk3.zip
    2. I then unzipped the zip files, then extracted and saved the
contents of each zip files into respective folders, namely Disk 1,
    Disk 2, Disk 3.
    3. I double clicked on "setup.exe" in Disk 1 folder. Nothing happened.
    Please advice.

You are correct that Oracle does not put a space between Disk and 1. But I thought since it is only the name of the folder, it probably should not matter how you name it, and should not have effect on the installation as long as the same folder name is used consistently in the installation process.
I tried your suggestion by putting the quotes in the right places this time. But still nothing happens.
I did not create any CD for saving the respective disk files, but rather, I just saved them onto D drive. Do you think the issue stems from here?
Or, do you think the issue is due to the OS being XP home?

If the platform is XP Prof. You have to stop the services before you de-install the modules. To complete clean up the Oracle installation, after you run the Oracle installer, you have to remove the key in Windows registery and then remove all the related directories.
The "getting started for windows" document has a detailed instruction of how to do this (from stopping oracle services to deleting directories). I tried it at least twice, it works.
    Good luck.
