A better webgallery? Here's my attempt.

Imagine a web gallery, generated from your Aperture albums, that allowed clients or visitors to your site to search your photos by keywords, IPTC and EXIF metadata. Imagine providing a function for your clients, friends or family to leave comments with your photos. Imagine doing this with one click.
This is what I've done. You can read about it, and have a play with it at the link below. (NOTE: Keyword searching works but I have disabled EXIF and IPTC searching for now, until I decide what way I will present this information - any suggestions?)
Leave me feedback for improvements and I'll see what I can do.

the better solution for the select statement whould be to use the aggreagte function sum for the field kwert:
SELECT knumv kposn sum(kwert)

The select is inside the loop an lt_output.
Aggregate functions and FOR ALL ENTRIES can not be combined, the
FOR ALL ENTRIES is a select distinct !!!
So you must leave the loop around the select and you can't use the FOR ALL ENTRIES, but this is o.k.,

gopro hero 3 black + premiere pro cs6...
I shoot at 720p 120fps.
Premiere doesn't want to read that as 120fps, it wants to read it at 60.
Video is slow while the audio remains okay but cuts off far too early.
I can go into modify the clip to make it read as 120fps but then my audio is super fast.
Tried unlinking audio and video beforehand but it still applies when the clip is dropped to the timeline.
I used cineform to convert my files but it ends up turning 300mb into 1.5gb...
I think I may need to figure a h.264 codec within premiere because that is what gopro writes with I think?
How can I fix this issue this is getting to be obnoxious...

re: the chipmunk audio, i think in the speed rate setting there is a check box to preserve audio pitch (i'm not sure exactly)
the time remapping feature might work because it does not affect the audio

Because it says it's incompatible when it can't be, I got hope. I get error messages all the time with my iPod and iPhone that it cannot sync and that 'this device is not capapble of connecting to iTunes' stuff. I literally forget that happened, plug it in again and it works, I later realize that iTunes made a mistake, they do that.

Here Drive + Beta (Navigation region issue)

Hi all.
Well, long story short , i had a Lumia 800 until march and recently bought a Lumia 920, so i gave the 800 to my sister, till now all is good except for the shocking news i discovered yesterday when tried to navigate to a destination and here drive told me politely that navigation isn't available for my country, but on the 800 i used Nokia drive not once and this was a big + for me when i chose nokia over others.
Well i live in Moldova, the map provided by Navteq is awfull, it has only the national and international roads( and some POI's) and this is all, and by the way city names are often incorrect written, but it was a lot easier to navigate from one region to another without getting lost, so i don't know who at Nokia had that "genius" idea to remove Moldova from the list of allowed countries for navigation but it was a bad move, so please update the list and on another note update the map too .

Here Drive+ Beta & Here Maps do not activate on my...

Hi,
I have installed Here Drive + Beta and Here Maps on my Nokia 620, when I click on them to activate they just return to the app list. I have un-installed and re-installed several times over various days and it still does not load. Important to note, Here Transit and other navigation apps work but not Here Drive + Beta and Here Maps! It's very frustrating, can anyone suggest what's going on?

In the end I gave up and proceeded to do a hard re-set back to initial factory settings – low and behold it now works fine, although I haven’t fully tested it on the road.

Photosmart C8180 stopped working and refuses any re-installation attempts on XP Desktop

Hello, I am new to the forum and am in need of some installation help.
I had graphics card failure (twice), and the last time the computer got turned on it was without the printers USB being plugged into it and this seems to be when the printers Software Solution Center stopped working. I could print in a mundane mannor but needed the solution center for my high end digital printing jobs.
So, I uninstalled and tried to re-install the software. Each attempt has given me a failed installation. I have been at this for days. I got a fatal error but didn't see an actual code for it. I allowed it to scan for problems and it told me "A solution has been found for this particular problem" but following each of those steps did not solve anything. The downloaded software from the site gave me the same results.
What happens is the software installation goes to approx 97% (although the last attempt said 100% and still failed) and then it hangs and says it took too long to respond. This part I failed to pay proper attention to, I believe. Sorry for the lack of better info here, but the software kept telling me "No HP devices have been detected" on each failed re-install attempt ... which have been at least 10! I believe this is because the software didn't finish the install.
I ran disk cleanup between each retry as well - however I know for a fact all things were not removed from registry and found several folders in the Temp folder after as well. I didn't know what was safe to remove and what wasn't so left them alone.
I did get a screenshot of the Error Situation Code from the error log it prepared to send to HP and which is what prompted the "A solution has been found for this particular problem" message and download of an app called HP Installation Error - XP.hta. Again, attempts to do these steps also failed.
I am at my wits end and hope to be able to solve this issue. I need my printer soon (I am making wedding invites "soon").

First: I am a bit disappointed that it has taken over a month for a reply. I all but gave up.
I followed these instruction at the link provided. However, I couldn't follow through -
When I clicked on the HP Update link provided, I choose XP, selected Next, clicked the plus sign next to Update (It only showed Update(6)) I do NOT get an option anywhere for "HP Update Software Utility".
All I get are these:
1. Critical Update: Cannot find scanned image or document files after scanning completes.
2. Solution Center Update
3. HP Print Driver Update
4. Critical Update to Enhance Reliability of Network and USB Connectivity and Improve System Responsiveness While Printing
5. Critical Update to Correct a PC to Printer Communication Issue
6. Critical Update for HP Photosmart Essential
I do not understand what is even going on with this software! I have installed/uninstalled many times. The last time I got as shown in images in above messages. The software hung at the 96% mark on the final configuration. I went through all the steps shown in previous messages to troubleshoot. Followed all options given. Nothing worked.
This time I did not uninstall the software. It is listed in Program Files. It is listed in the Registry. The monitor icon is in the sys tray and is showing a green checkmark as seen here:
When I try to open Solution Center I get this message:
I can still use the printer (have not tried the scanner - its an Photosmart C8180 AIO) but cannot access advanced features.
I can access Photosmart Essentials. When it first opened it asked to check for updates. I thought I would just to see if the software was working. This is the message I got:
BUT, as you can see - I am online already! What is up with that?
While going through some of those steps provided in the link you gave me in the above message I went into Event Viewer to see what I could find. I cannot believe after all the years I have used the computer - I never knew about that!
Interesting information. I found many error messages and warnings (for a total of 21!) in there related to the HP install attempts. Many are repeats because of the sheer number of times I uninstalled/reinstalled. All contained either an error code of 1904 or 1905. Each showed an issue with either Flash (filed to register), smartwebprinting (ClipBook.dll not existing), etc. I am going to give screenshots of the ones that seem to be different (bare with me here):
OKAY ... That was all the messages. You can see on them which were fatal and which were warnings.
NOTE: About the one showing an error with the Flash. Flash is installed and it is the latest version. I do not recall if it was at that time (since this has been over 30 days ago), and as I said - I have not tried to reinstall again .... I cannot begin to tell you how discuted I am with HP 'anything' at the moment.
I hope I have not left anything out after all this time. I have tried to provide as much information as possible. I hope to hear back; soon.

Flash Catalyst Beta

Does anybody know when Flash Catalyst will be available for beta?
We're in May now. Isn't it supposed to be out by now?

Certainly because of the previous FC version. You'll have to do a bit of housekeeping before installing the new beta. Here some tricks that might help:
On a MAC: The first thing to attempt is to use the Finder to go to the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Installers folder (this is the /Library folder under your boot volume, not your user folder). Once there you should see several folders with names that are just long numbers. Open each until you find one that has an Uninstall.app file with the or Adobe Flash Catalyst icon. Double click on that Uninstall.app and see if it will let you uninstall. If not try the Setup.app file in the same folder
On a PC: The first thing to attempt is to use Windows Explorer to go to \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers. Once there you should see several folders with names that are just long numbers. Open each until you find one that has a Setup.exe file with the Adobe Flash Catalyst icon. Double click on that Setup.exe and see if it will let you uninstall.
If all that doesn't work out, there are other ways, but I'd recommend a clean swipe of your system.

Bridge CC slow? Here's a fix for some situations

Like so many of you, I have been having issues with my Adobe Bridge CS6 & Adobe Bridge CC 2014 installations both being very slow (5-10 seconds to open any context menus, folder update taking minutes, etc). Even though my machine was more than capable, something was limiting my Bridge performance.
After experimenting, I finally came up a solution that fixed it for me and others in my company.
It seemed like any action I took in Bridge was making it ping my distant network drives, which added a huge delay to any operations. I realized that this might be stemming from the fact that my company operated a Windows desktop syncing server / domain (no clue what i's actually called..) that would back up our user profiles automatically. By creating a local user and running Bridge through that (even while logged in on my main account), my performance is 1000% better.
Here's what I did:
1) While logged in on my main account, I created a new basic user on my local machine following these guidelines, writing down the username/password that I used for this new user
2) I went into "All Programs", right clicked the Bridge CC 2014 icon, and chose "Send To > Desktop (Create new shortcut)"
3) On my desktop, I right clicked the newly created Bridge icon and selected "Properties"
4) Under the "Shortcut > Target" option, I entered: C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /user:COMPNAME\NEWUSER /savecred "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CC (64 Bit)\Bridge.exe" (Where COMPNAME is is my computer name and NEWUSER is the username of the user I created in step 1)
5) Clicked "Change Icon..." and then "Browse", navigated to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CC (64 Bit)", and chose the Bridge.exe file to use as my new icon
6) Clicked OK to save the shortcut
7) Then I ran the shortcut and was prompted for the password I setup in step 1, which I entered, then hit "Enter" (it should save this from now on, due to the /savecred option we used in step 4)
Like that, my Bridge was back to performing like it did in CS5! As long as I used the new shortcut I created, my Bridge continued to work well. Using the "old" shortcuts wouldn't break anything, but Bridge would run very slowly.
Some things to note:
1) You will have to resetup ALL of your preferences/keywords panel/favorites/windows/etc for this "local" Bridge - none of your actual image files should be affected, though
2) In order to access network drives through this "local" Bridge, you will need to use "Switch User" to login as the user you created in step 1, map the network drives while logged in as that user, and then logout (and this may add the same slowness back to Bridge!)
3) Performing actions on network drives with the "local" Bridge may actually be slower using this method, which is why we now use the "local" Bridge only for local work and the original Bridge for working on a network drive
4) May make your systems administrator mad if they don't want you setting up new users..
5) Plugins/Scripts may need to be edited to work with the "local" Bridge

Yes it was extremely frustrating process to read any library books after the upgrade to Adobe Digital Editions 2.0.
Eventually it turned out that the process must have you sign out of the Kobo device Account under settings on the Kobo Device.
What we did was to remove all library books from the Kobo device and from the Adobe Digital Edition
Next was to sign out of the Kobo Device as well as the Kobo Desktop on the PC as well as exiting from Adobe Digital Edition.
Next was to start up Kobo Desktop and sign in.
Next was to connect the Kobo device to the USB port.
This resulted in the Kobo device being upgraded and Sync'd to the Kobo Desktop. Wait until the Sync is complete
Disconnect the Kobo device from the USB port
Next was to restart Adobe Digital Edition and using CTRL-SHIFT-D to deauthorize the computer and select Erase Authorization.
Next was to go back to Adobe Digital Edition, Help and Authorize Computer
Next was to reconnect the Kobo device to the USB port
Next was to select the Kobo device in the Adobe Digial Edition and Authorize the device
Next was to get a library book in the Adobe Digital Edition and then add it to the Kobo Device
Everything seems to be working from then on.

Sometimes the registration of ADE to Windows as the default hander for .acsm and .epub files does not work;
that is what causes the double-click in Explorer to fail; and usually prevents opening from the browser as well.
especially in Windows 8/8.1, and maybe 7;
this appears to be a bug in Windows (for once not a bug in ADE).
Two possible ways round it.
First, try to force it in Explorer
Right-click on a .epub file (and repeat entire sequence for .acsm if necessary)
Select 'open with' if on the list, 'open' if not.
Select 'choose default program'
Select ADE if it is on the list,
If not select 'more options' and select ADE is on that list.
If not, at the bottom of 'More Options' list is 'Look for another app on this PC', select that
and navigate to the ADE executable (may be at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions\digitaleditions.exe)
Now .epub/.acsm files should be associated with ADE, and double-clicking should work.
Sometimes, Windows allows you to go through all that, but then refuses to make the association you have asked for.
In that case, the only way I know is to use a third party file association program.

Adobe DRM books are associated with an Adobe account; once accessed on a device registered to a given account they can't be used on a device registered to any other account.
You must regain access to your old account and register your computer and other devices with it.
You should not create a new account if you want to keep your old books.
Each account has a permanent internal ID, and is at any one time associated with an external email ID.
The email does not need to be valid, (though it can only be verified if it is valid).
For example, if you lose an email address for some reason or another, it doesn't mean that address is no longer associated with the Adobe account.
The correct thing to do when you change email address is to associate the new email address with the old Adobe account.
Login to the Adobe account using the old (now invalid) email address and old Adobe password.
You can then goto Adobe ID/My Adobe ID and change the email address/external ID associated with the account.
If you have already made a new Adobe account using your new email and registered computers and devices with it, you must ... ... ...
Change the email address associated to your new Adobe account. Until you have done this you can't do step 3.
Many email providers allow variant addresses, such as [email protected] and [email protected]
Those will be the same as far as google is concerned but different as far as Adobe is concerned.
You can now abandon the new Adobe account
Change the email address associated to your old Adobe account to your new email address.
Deregister your computer from the new (now dead) Adobe account, using ctrl-shift-D (cmd-shift-D if on a Mac)
Deregister any ereader devices registered with the account, using ctrl-shift-E (cmd-shift-E if on a Mac) to ADE with the device plugged in
Reregister the computer with the old Adobe account, using the new email address with which you associated it in step 3
(menu/Help/Authorize Computer, Library/Authorize Computer on the older more reliable v1.2.7)
Reregister any ereaders
(menu/Help/Authorize Device, Library/Authorize Device on v1.2.7)

A book is associated with the AdobeID in use at the time the book was downloaded (.acsm token file turned into encrypted .epub/.pdf file).
An AdobeID has two forms, internal (something like 'urn:uuid:ff2ddc22-eca0-46c6-a84d-xxxxxxxxxxxx') and external (email address).
The authorization mechanism on the book is associated with the internal ID.
The internal ID for an account never changes; you can change the email address it is currently associated with on the Adobe website.
You can check the Adobe ID ADE is using in internal and external form in ADE2.0 using ctrl-shift-I (Help/Authorization Information).
For ADE1.7.2 you sadly only get the external ID, using Library/Authorize Computer (which acts as a query if already authorized).
You can check the AdobeID in external form in Bluefire.
In either case, if you have changed the external ID associated with the account since authorizing the device,
you may be told the old external ID, or may be told the up to date one.
You can check the AdobeID associated with a book in internal form with the rather roundabout method at the bottom of this post.
I don't know of any way of finding the current external ID given the internal ID of the book;
unless it is an ID you still use in which case the matching values from ADE2.0 will tell you.

OK. To find the internal AdobeID.
open a sample DRM .epub file as a .zip file.
With some zip programs, you can just open the .epub as an archive (ev, with 7zip),
with others you will have to rename the .epub file to a .zip file first, then open it.
find the file 'rights.xml' within the zip. Probably 'META-INF\rights.xml'
open the rights.xml file
inside you will find a section '<user>' that looks something like
<user>urn:uuid:ff2ddc22-eca0-46c6-a84d-xxxxxxxxxxxx</user>
That string is the internal version for your AdobeID.
That stays fixed for the AdobeID, even if you change the associated email (or password),
that internal ID is what is really associated with the book.
(n.b. there is no point in trying to change the urn to a current one you might find and recreating the .epub file; the DRM is cleverer than that).

It may be that if you can give them that internal ID they will be able to get you access to your account again.
If they say they can't, it might be worth trying two or three times at intervals;
it seems from what others have said that some of the representatives are very clued up, but others are not.
(I've never used the Live Chat).

Overdrive~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes Overdrive has issues with authorization (I have seen from other posts, not experienced).
Try the Bluefire app and see if that will authorize.
If it does, you can use it instead of Overdrive to read Adobe DRM books such as library books; but can’t use it to borrow them.
Also... Even though registration is done via the app, it applies to the device rather than the specific app. It may be that registering Bluefire causes Overdrive to start working, but I’ve never seen that confirmed.
nonauthorized~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a vicious trap that Adobe lays for unsuspecting customers.
They do give very mild warnings, but not nearly strong enough.
When you register 'without ID', ADE creates an anonymous/implicit ID with limited powers (eg can't be used to share with other devices).
Whenever you first load a DRM book, that copy of the book is associated with whatever ID the computer is registered to at the time.
Any book you load while this anonymous ID is active gets associated with that ID, and can't be read on any other device.
When you properly register your computer with a real ID, that old anonymous ID is lost.
Now you don't have any devices that can read the book.
The only way I know round this is to use a DRM stripper such as epubee BEFORE you deauthorize the device.
I do NOT advocate using such code to get around the valid limitations placed on a DRM book.
However, where the problem arises only because of the ineptness of Adobe's ADEPT DRM infrastructure and its implementation,
such a measure is totally justifiable.

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help, and indeed installation can even trigger this state.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
Another is "E_AUTH_NOT_READY"
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. There's no way to do it from Digital Editions itself.
You can do it by making directory junction (on PC, and I'm sure Mac has something similar).
Move the directory and any files you already have from .../My Documents/My Digital Editions to wherever you want them.
Open a command prompt
Navigate to .../My Documents.
Type mklink /d "My Digital Editions" "wherever you put the directory"
The new directory does not even need to be on the same drive.
tablets~~~~~~~
Adobe Digital Editions does not generally recognize tablets, only dedicated ereaders.
For a tablet, install compatible Adobe DRM ereader app. I suggest Bluefire; also consider Akdiko or Overdrive but some people have issues registering them. Some tablets come with such an app preinstalled. Authorize the tablet from within the app to use your Adobe ID (details vary from app to app, usually somewhere within Settings)
The tablet may well be able to download books without use of ADE at all. If you do want to transfer books from ADE/computer, use a file manager (Windows Explorer, Mac Finder) to copy to the tablet as mounted drive, or use a utility such as Dropbox.

I can't check whether it also still has some of the other standard issues with ADE2.0 that regularly show up on this forum

Prone to suddenly stopping working after a time even when it worked before (1.7.2 resolves)
Prone to failure to scroll pages. (1.7.2 resolves)

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

Some of the representatives haven't been properly trained and don't know what to do (and claim there is nothing they can do);
in that case the only way seems to be to give up that chat and try another session hoping for a properly trained representative.
If your problem is with another device using Overdrive, Bluefire, Aldiko or similar third party app, it is recommended not to mention that app when on the chat, just mention that you have run out of authorizations (E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS) . Thanks to AJP_Bear for that tip.

ICloud Photo Beta with Family

My wife and I each have our own Apple IDs. Under my ID I purchased the extra storage for iCloud hence all of my photos and videos are uploading automatically to iCloud Photo Beta which is great. How can my wife set her iPhone to automatically upload all of her pictures and videos as well? I have initiated and set up Family Sharing but that creates a "Family Album" and does not automatically upload her pictures to the iCloud account I am running. Does she have to give up her iCloud? If so what are the steps to get her on mine? Thank you for the help everyone.

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like you would like to have an album where all of you and your wife’s photos are automatically uploaded. This can be accomplished by signing into your iCloud account on her device, which would then be kept up-to-date with your iCloud account:

Another option is to activate iCloud Photo Library beta for her iCloud account so that her photos will be uploaded to her iCloud account and kept up-to-date, and then she can add photos to your shared Family Album at will.

Macbook 10.5.8 Version Built in ISight problem with YM 3.0 beta version

I am using my Macbook built in ISight with the latest version of Yahoo Messenger for Mac, the 3.0 Beta. Every time i will use the YM webcam, it will only last for about 1 minute and will not work anymore. This is happening since i bought my macbook last November 2008. it will be a year next month and still the ISight is not working properly with YM. When i checked from the store where I bought my macbook, they said it happens in YM coz according to them YM is not yet fully applicable with apple laptop models and recommended to use other messenger instead. My family and friends are using YM only to keep in touch with me so I don't have a choice but continue using YM. Its really disappointing coz I even downloaded the other version of YM before this 3.0 version, but same problem still exists.
Can anyone help me on how can i fix this problem? or if there is really a solution on this..I've always wanted to have a macbook laptop but having this kind of problem really made me think if i did a right decision to buy this laptop. it is indeed an expensive laptop but i cant enjoy it fully...
please help me!!!

Problems like yours, especially those involving known-unreliable (Beta) software, can be difficult to resolve. You need to start by troubleshooting to determine the source of the problem. Then you will KNOW what to fix. You seem like a fairly experienced user, so try any of the following you think might help in any order you like.
(0) You can use the suggestions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 to determine whether iSight is causing your problem. Be sure to try with more than one user account and with some other apps, too.
If your iSight works properly with all other apps in every user account you test, your Apple hardware and software is NOT the cause.
If you can eliminate iSight as the source of your trouble, you will need to either switch to other ways of communicating or troubleshoot other system elements that might be causing the problem. Here are some other things you can consider if you don't get better suggestions here.
(1) Sometimes a restart restores function on internet connected applications. Shut down everything and restart your entire system including modem, router, and Mac in that order. To eliminate possible communication hardware problems, allow self-test to complete on each device before starting the next.
(2) If you updated or installed any other software immediately before the problem began, check their websites to see if there are known issues with your system configuration or installation. If these are no know issues, carefully following the developers' instructions, reinstall any recent software additions that you think might be causing a conflict with YMM, use Disk Utility to repair permissions, and try again. Doing this reinstall will reduce the possibility that some recent addition might be conflicting with your new YMM Beta.
If you find conflicting software, follow the instructions and uninstall to see if removing it will restore proper function to your favored communications apps.
(3) Check YMM's Help: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/mac/mac3/index.html
for help with installation and communication requirements/ configuration topics.
If you do not find the answers there, check the dedicated YMM forum (use the "Ask Other Messenger Users" link on the help page) to see if your problem has already been solved by other users who post there.
(4) You can also take your MacBook to a different location and see if the connection works when you access the web via a different internet connection.
(5) I no longer use YM because I often encountered problems like those you describe, but my testing from several years back showed that Yahoo! seemed to support the Windows version of their messenger app better than the Mac version.
Because your iNtel Mac can use Boot Camp, VMware Fusion™, Parallels™, or VirtualBox to run Windows® software, there is another alternative available to you. Choose which method you want to use to run Windows®, add the required software to your iNtel Mac (if you have not already done so), and then install and use Yahoo! Messenger for Windows.

(6) If all else fails, and if your family and friends are willing to try something "new and improved" (does NOT work with Yahoo! Messenger), you can both install and try a different video chat app such as Google Talk or Skype.
