A company has invaded while I was on Firefox and it insists that I buy Vista antivirus 2011 to solve the problem - does Firefox have a way to delete this?
I had left my computer on when I went to dinner and both internet explorer and firefox browsers were on. When I returned, the screen said that I had been "infected" and a variety of trojan horses and other problems were breaking into my computer and my personal data were at risk. It insists that I buy a program called Vista Anti-virus 2011 to fix the problem and prevent future problems. A search on another computer suggests that this software itself is very malicious. I want to get rid of the infection but don't know how. Can you help?

While I was trying to update one of my apps, I created a new AppleID (since I forgot my old one) and when I tap "Submit" It says "Your username/password is incorrect."
Is this because the account is still processing (I just verified it)? Please answer- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -
the podcast app is not fixed still wont download,did not find any solutions with anyones comments,they all have the same problem with this app.So how can you say the problem is fixed,get someone who knows how to really do something so it is not a recurring topic of frustration!!!!!
You might get more replies to this (but not from Apple, who you will recall, do not monitor these discussions) if you had posted in the Podcasts for iOS discussions, but never mind. At least in this post you've mentioned that your problem is with the Podcast App, something you didn't mention in your previous post. Consequently, my comments were based on "problems downloading Podcasts", not "problems with the new Podcast App".
(I don't use the new Podcast App, since I cannot install iOS 5 on my Touch. So I stick with the older method of listening to Podcasts on my iPod.) That said however...
It cannot have escaped Apple's attention that the new Podcast App has not been well received. Although these discussions tend to focus on what's wrong rather than what's right, it does appear that the App hasn't been well thought out.
In particular, the Auto Play feature, which - once an episode has finished playing, the "next most recent unplayed episode" will begin. Now, maybe I'm wrong but to me that means that it plays the Podcasts in reverse date order, so episode 19 will play after episode 20 and episode 18 after ep.19! That is how the iPod Classic plays Podcasts by default and the Classic forum is littered with posts from people who think this is barmy. (I think it's barmy too!)
I use an iPod Touch as well. Although not perfect, playing Podcasts on the Touch is far easier than on a Classic.
You are unlikely to find any "solutions" to the issues with the Podcast App, because the "solution" is for Apple to redesign it.
If you are assuming that the update of 25th july is a claim that it's fixed... oh dear! I notice that the App views, shown in the Store, still include that "tortoise and hare" screen with what appears to be the transport mechanism for a reel-to-reel tape deck. That alone tells me there is no real improvement to the App. It really is the worst graphic Apple have ever produced! I'll be surprised if anyone under 35 recognises that graphic as a reel-to-reel tape deck.
Actually, I have a question for you.
If you have the Podcast App installed on your Touch, does that mean that the previous method of listening to Podcasts has been removed from your iPod, or can you still access them in the Music App? If you can, abandon the Podcast App and use the old method. If not, please warn me in order that I don't purchase a new iPod Touch until Apple fix this!

While browsing on safari earlier today I had about 10 tabs open some with YouTube.
I was on a flash website browsing and the system froze and the spinning wheel came Up on the mouse.
I tried to move the mouse to get to the force quit in safari but then the mouse froze too, after a minute I held down the power button and turned off the laptop.
Now I tried to turn it back on, it turns on and loads up as far as the white screen with the grey apple logo and goes no further?
What does this mean, how can I solve it? I'm in panic as all of my school notes are on it, any help or advice would be muh appreciated!Do you have backups of all the data on the startup drive? If not, do nothing else until you've backed up that data, if you still can.

You are not pushing the headphones all the way in. Make sure the white plastic is flush with the iPod.

I have downloaded ios 7.2 update for my ipad and now my screen is locked and shows a picture of a plug and the itunes symbol. Does anyone have advice to fix this frustrating problem? I have seen help online for iphones, but none for ipads. The screen will not budge. I have tried holding down the power and home buttons at the same time, to no avail. After installing iTunes 11.0.1 I got a splash screen that appears after all updates. The screen reads:

Question: How do I re-install or replace this file?

When installing iPhoto 9.2.1 software update, I got this pop up.
"The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update."
Is this a minor matter that can be ignored? Any suggestions on what I should do?The faster (and way more recommended) way to do this is to run a permissions repair from disk utility.
Open Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility -> Click on Macintosh HD -> then in the right pane there is a "Repair Disk Permissions" button click on this. It should repair all permissions to their proper settings.
Another option is to manually repair them on this kext only. This involves opening Terminal and running the following commands.
sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext
sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext
Otherwise if you don't have any firewire devices it doesn't really matter. -
Entire days of pictures are not loaded on iCloud, while most of the days are loaded. Weeks has passed, while I was connected to wireless, so I dont understand why still entire days are missing...

Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.That driver appears to be for a Zydas wireless usb adapter. Zydas has been through a couple of different acquisitions and no updates appear to be available, so you'll probably need to delete that extension.

My iPhone 4 has lost SIM connection several times over the past week when the phone is left on continually. I have had the SIM checked and it was not the source of the problem. I have found that I can reactivate the SIM by switching the phone off and on again. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, is there an easy fix. I have been advised by Apple that the latest IOS update may overcome this situation but I'm only on slow download speeds and 690 Mb would take forever. I would appreciate any advice.

Howdy. I keep getting a message stating that my apple ID has been disabled. I recently contacted my CC company, AMEX, for several fradulent iTune charges, which is probably where the problem first originated. How can I resolve this issue?
I had to dispute several unauthorized charges to itunes. My apple id was disabled after that. I followed jarnoldus's (older post) advice and it worked. Im duplicating his entry here with a few modifications. I hope this works for you.
1. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com
2. Choose your product (mine was ipad)
3. Click the "iTunes, App Store or iBooks" icon
4. Click "Apple ID account security"
5. Type in "apple id has been disabled"
6. Choose your country (mine was US)
7. Choose the "talk to apple support now" option
8. Provide the info they request (name, email, phone number)
9. They will call you right away.
Explain your apple id has been disabled. The rep will connect you to an iTunes rep. He/she will look up your account. You will be required to answer your 3 security questions. You MUST get a minimum of 2 correct. If you succeed they will enable your id. Good luck!
