Hi
where can i find the setting for the "Negative Stock - valuation area", I beleive this is different from the plant storage location setting for negative stock and needs to be activated first.
You can find this in OMJ1 Transaction, apart from this in the Plant parameters also you can flag the Negative stokcs for Special stocks.
b) I am doing a goods issue 201 aginst the cost center. Is there a way of finding the correct cost center.
In OKB9 maintain the defulat cost center for the G/L account  used for posting the Goods issue to cost center.
You can find the G/L account attached in OBYC, GBB transaction & genaral modifier VBR, valuation class of the material

    Hi
You can have multiple currencies in your system.  But all the transactions at accounting happen only at company code currency level.  You can view report in alternate currency.  Please check with your FI consultant  He will guide you more on the use of currency.  You can have CC currency, Group Currency, etc.

  • Valuation area 001 posting issue

    HI,
I have got this error message. System doesn't post to VA 001 prior to 20.05.2011. How can I resolve this?
Business Transaction Cat: Interest on  Position Date: 01.05.2011 is before the initialization key date of valuation area 001
    Message no. TPM_TRG461
    Diagnosis
The business transaction ' Business Transaction Cat: Interest' with position date  Position Date: 01.05.2011 should be changed or created. It occurs before the initialization key date of valuation area 001. The business transaction that posted the position value on the key date may no longer specify the correct value.
    System Response
The business transaction is not transferred to valuation area 001 since it occurs before the initialization key date.
    Procedure
If the position displays an incorrect book value based on the change made, you may be able to adjust the book value by manual valuation.

    Hi,
Suppose I want to capture all the postings which were made starting from the issue date to Go-live date for a fixed income instrument say bond or fixed deposit then what should be the approach?
What if I keep initialization date as 01.01.2004 for all valuation areas and momentarily make update type not relevant for posting and complete all accrual/amortisation/valuation processes for the past postings and then revert back the changes made to update type.  Will it help to capture entire life cycle?
Assumption is all the instruments have issue or purchase date after 01.01.2004.
    Thanks

  • GL account and cost center field appearing for Goods issue movt type 201

    Hi SAP Gurus
We are trying to post goods issue in ecc6 . The problem is that the GL Account and cost center fields are available fields .The cost center field is logical but why the GL account field is avaiable .
How we can grey out the same field as it is going to be picked up from the valuation class setting in GBB - VBR ? Any ideas
    Regards
    Hitesh

    Hi Ravi
You think that its ok we have to input the cost center .
But if you allow the users to input the GL then you are overriding the whole purpose of defining the valuation class and offsetting entries ? What is your opinion ?When you input the material in the goods issue screen the offsetting entry needs to be picked from the GBB -VBR .Although even if you do not enter the GL the system posts the Godds issue document .But from the control perspective this needs to be suppressed .
    What do you think ?
I have also posted the same in Logistics forum .
Once  again many thanks for your help .In case you find some solution this would be of great help

  • Post Goods Issue Accounting Entry & Profit Center Updation???

    Dear All,
At the time of Post Goods issue it generates an accountng entry.
we are getting an error related to Profit center.
we maintained profit center in the sales order. and please clarify me can we create cost element for COGS account which hits at this level.
I am getting the following errror.
Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled
    Message no. GLT2201
    Diagnosis
The field Profit Center marked as balancing is not filled with any value in line item 001, even after document splitting.
    System Response
    The document cannot be posted.
    Procedure
    First check your entries.
    Additional causes could be:
No value can be derived for this field from the current document data.
You have entered a document type that is not designed for this business purpose.
    Procedure for System Administration
    Customizing
But we need profit cener wise balance sheet.
    so please guide me.
    regards,
    shashi kanth.

If you define document splitting criteria based on Profit Center and if your document contains multiple line items with different profit center, this type of error will come.
To check this, Go to IMG Path -- Financial Accounting (New) --> General Ledger Accounting (New) --> Document Splitting --> Define Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger
There check whether the mandatory check box is selected for profit Center.  So check in your delivery document, whether any line item does not have profit center.
You can also have a look at any of the following notes
    a)  995055
    b)  1074689
    c)  1079819

  • New planned goods issue date during delivery creation due to changed route

    Hello All,
I have defined 2 routes with different values for transit time and transporation lead times. I have configured routes such that in order creation - route A is determined and while delivery creation due to weight group - delivery B is determined.
Now for Route A i have maintained transit time of 3 days and Transportation lead time of 4 days and for Route B it is 1 day each.
Delivery scheduling is active for the order type.
Now when i create the order with a delivery date of say 05/24/2010 then (route A with transit time of 3 days) is determined and the planned goods issue date of 05/21/2010 is in the order.
Now while creating delivery (Route B which has transit time 1 day) is determined due to the weight group. But the planned goods issue date is still the same 05/21/2010 as in order.
I am assuming that since the route B has a route of 1 day so the planned goods issue date should be re-determined to 05/23/2010? IS there no scheduling done during delivery creation even though route and subsequently transit time has changed?
Please let me know the answer to this...
    Thanks
    Shobhit

    Hi ,
You can use TA - MASS . Enter object type - BUS2032(for sales orders) on initial screen and select sales item data.
Next screen enter selection fields like sales order no and items. After giving order no and item range , execute and enter all new values for any item data fields. After pressing button "carry out mass change", don't forget to press save button.

  • Exit to Fill Assignment Field in Good Issue Accounting Document

    Dear,
I would like to fill assignment field with eqipment number when post good issue via VT01N (shipment).
What exit that i should use for that purpose?.
    Thank you

    Hello,
I am not aware of any exits which can do this for you. Did you try substitution for your requirement ? Also there is a possibility to use the field XREF3 to get the desired result.
I hope the above hints help to resolve the issue.

  • Negative stock caused by vl06g for consingment stock W

    Hi Gurus,
We are facing following problem in our company.
When we post collectively goods issues for consignment stock (W) for previous period thorugh transaction VL06G, system lets negative stock while it shouldn't.
When we post GI for current period everything works fine - system doesn't let us proceed GI if we don't have enough stock.
    Below listed our settings:
    1. we didn't allow negative stock in valuation area- OMJ1,
    2. availability check of item category KAN (consingment pick-up) is on,
    3. in material master- in "Sales/General:Plant" View, negative stock is not ticked.
    Thank you

    Hi,
As Jürgen said price can't be negative. You need to correct MAP first before posting the invoice. Try running consistency check (Tcode: MB5K) you might know the reason why system is showing -ve moving average price and then you can correct.

  • Reg: Negative Stock

    Hii,
How does negative stocks works in SAP, here in Material Master for a selected material in plant 1000 and SL 0001, i have checked on negative stock option in Plant/ Storage 2 view.
while issuing the stock in MIGO, it is not allowing and it is givng an error with deficit qty not allowed.
Can u pls guide me, how does it should make it work.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Muralidharan

    Hi muralidharan ,
A negative stock occurs when you post a goods issue(GI) witha quantity that is larger than the book inventory.Negative stock balances may be required if,for organizational reasons, you enter goods issue before the coreesponding goods receipts, and the material is already physically located in the warehouse.Negative stocks always indicate that physical movments have to be entered in the system at the later stage.
So that you can work with negative stock inSAP system, you have to specifically allow this in customizing for the affected material. In Customizing for inventory mangerment, you will find the settings for negative stock under Goods issue/Transfer postings>Allow Negative stocks..The path for this is
    SPRO>Materials mangement>Inventory management and physical inventory>Goods issue/Transfer postings>Allow negative stocks
Negative stocks are allowed at valuation area level and storage location level. At plant level, you can set the special stocks for which negative stocks is allowed.
For example the special stocks for which negative stock is allowed are
    >Vendor consignment
    >Stock of material provided to vendor
    >Consignment stock at customer
    >Sales order stock
    >Project stock
    >Returnable packaging with customer
    >Returnable transport packaging
If you have negative stock for a material ,this is shown in the material master record on the accounting view, the plant stock view, and the storage location stock view. The negative stock is also displayed in the stock lists.
To determine for which materials you have negative stocks, use the warehouse stock for material report. From SAP Easy acess screen, choose Logistics>Materials management>Inventory management>Environment>Stock>Warehouse stock(MB52)
You can execute the selection, for example, for several materials for a storage location that allows negative stocks. So that only the materials with negative stocks are displayed, choose the Only display negative stocks indicator on the selection screen.
    Hope this will help you
    Reward if useful
    Thanks and Regards

  • Material Revaluation with negative stock

    Good Afternoon,
Iu2019m working with negative stock, standard valuation method and item cost by warehouse in SAP B1 2007 SP01 PL08.
I need to update the standard cost of all items and I'm trying to do that using the Stock Revaluation Transaction but I have the error message: u201CItem XXXXX has been selected with a negative stock quantity and cannot be revaluedu201D and u201CSelected items cannot have a negative quantityu201D. There is any option to work around these messages and update the standard cost?
    Thank you,
    Susana Cunha

    Hi Senthil,
I don't know how could you so sure about Negative inventory management is a bug in SBO.  You know, there is not much you can do once the inventory become negative.  SAP allows it happen simply because some one may not or may not have a way to care about the accuracy of the inventory.   The best way is setting to not allow it.  The negative inventory is never logical for any applications to MANAGE them.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Restrict goods issue if stock on posting date is zero

    Requirement:
Current Inventory period : July 2011
    Stock of a material from 01.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 is zero(in MB5B report)
I upload stock of material  or GRN occur on 31.07.2011. Say Quantity u2013 100
Now stock as on 31.07.2011 is 100 in MB5B
    Still, Stock of a material from 01.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 is zero(in MB5B)
Now, If I do goods issue of a material quantity 100 on 15.07.2011. System allows goods issue. though opening and closing stock as on 15.07.2011 is zero.
After goods issue transaction if I check stock of material on any date between 16.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 , The opening stock and closing stock shows negative.
I want to restrict goods issue if stock on posting date is zero or less then stock available on posting date.
    Please suggest

    Hi,
This is not the way SAP is designed. As the previous speakers wrote (and as you noticed yourself), SAP maintains stock figures in the database per month rather than per day. MB5B makes complex calculations in order to find out how much stock you had on a specific date - as you probably noticed on the response time. Performing such calculations every time you do a GI would be unfeasibly heavy task for the system - remember there are organisations that perform hundreds of inventory movements a minute!
An alternative solution I suppose would be to maintain the daily stock figures in the database. This would make the finding of the stock figure very quick, but on the other hand, the maintenance of such table would be unfeasible - if you post today a GI on say July 1st, you would need to calculate 36 stock figures and update 36 database records!
Hope this explains the technical issue.
