A pop up comes up for Wi-Fi, but won't go away

Hello,
I was using my phone was a personal hotspot for my laptop so I could work outside, when I got a pop-up on my screen. The pop-up won't go way, I tried clicking all
buttons, and forced quit all of my applications, but nothing seems to work. Please help.

Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Keychain Access on your Mac. I found a couple of articles I suggest for the issue you described.
Your keychain uses your the same password as your login password. If it is not accepting that password, I recommend running the Keychain First Aid using the steps in this article:

If you are still repeatedly seeing a prompt to enter your Keychain Access password, you may need to reset your keychain. This will create a new keychain so any saved passwords on the old keychain will not be available, and you will need to enter them when accessing sites for the first time again. It keeps asking for my password but won't accept the usual password.

When I try to access my account I get the following error message: "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: Username and password not accepted." However, when I look up the account information the username and password I see are the same ones I have been using. How can I clear this up? I tried setting up a new account but it didn't work. If you changed your password in gmail webmail account, then you will need to remove and re-enter the saved password in Thunderbird.

I have known a similar issue occur after an update.
I've also experienced a server request to loggon to webmail account cuase this, in which case logon to webmail and everything works ok afterwards.
That error message could mean the username and password are incorrect or it may not be correct for the chosen settings - meaning the settings are wrong.
Note: Username = full email address.
So try this:
if the password was remembered, remove it.
'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Passwords' tab
click on 'Saved passwords'
click on 'show passwords'
If Thunderbird password manager was instructed to remember passwords, they will show up in the list. There will be be two, one called mailbox and the other smtp. highlight both and click on 'Remove' then click on 'Close' then click on OK to save changes to Options.
Close Thunderbird and wait a few moments for background processes to finalise.
Restart Thunderbird.
On startup it should prompt for a password.
enter the password,
make sure you select the checkbox for Password Manager to remember the password
click on OK.

This happened to me twice lately. I finally got around it by double tapping the home key to go back to the homepage finding the app store that was running and flicked it up to get rid of it.

Bought battery for ibook G3 but won't charge up?

Hi, my original battery for my iBook G3 600 was almost dead so I bought a replacement. I have been using the battery only for about a week now & charged it up only a few times. Everything was fine until last night.
I put the ibook to sleep until this evening, when I tried to boot up I got nothing? There is a slight wirr in the background but no screen?
I decided to test the iBook with my old battery as there was still a little life left in it. The ibook then booted up no problem?? I dont understand it?
Can anyone help me with this problem? Be much appreciated...

The green light means the battery isn't charging. When everything is running right, this means the battery is charged but when things aren't working right, it simply means the battery isn't charging (for whatever reason).
These are the four most common possibilities when the battery will not charge:
(1) there is something wrong with your battery
(2) there is something wrong with your power adapter
(3) there is something wrong with your power input board (the part that contains the port where you plug in the adapter)
(4) there is something wrong with your logic board
In your case, since you've already replaced the battery, eliminating it as the problem, it is likely either a bad power adapter or a bad power input board.
Do you know someone with a known good adapter, or could you take it in to an Apple Store to have them check it out to see if another adapter will charge the battery?
The power input (DC-in) board (the part of the computer which houses the adapter port) may be going bad if it sometimes will charge the battery and sometimes won’t. Sometimes it will work intermittently before quitting entirely. When a DC-in board quits working, the computer will run fine from the battery, but won't run from the adapter, and the adapter will no longer charge the battery. To diagnose a bad DC-in board, you need to make sure it isn't the battery or the adapter at fault by swapping out first one and then the other, If it runs from a known good charged battery okay, but won't run from a known good adapter, then you are going to have to replace the power input board.
Usually, if it is a logic board problem, the iBook simply will not run from the battery. This happened to mine. The battery showed up in the battery status indicator. It was recognized by the computer and charged by the adapter (as shown by the battery status indicator). However, when I unplugged the adapter from the iBook, it was just like pulling the power cord from the wall on a desktop. The iBook immediately shutdown. Dead.
My husband’s problem was quite obviously the power input board because the adapter tip had broken off in the port. Often (and, sadly, in our case), this damages the power input board so that it no longer functions, necessitating replacement of the board as well as the broken adapter.

so after double shaking, is the ring flashing red +white? If it is not, then it is not in pairing mode. (I'm assuming you have the ERA) And you see nothing on the iphone? Nothing is found? Or is the device found, but not paired.
try placing the jawbone in pairing mode first, and then turn off/on the iphone blue tooth.
I don't think you need to unpair with the BB. But you can try. go to BB settings and there should be a way to forget the device.

CS5 - Dialog Comes Up for Duplicate Layer - But Never Before Today

I've been working with Mac CS5 since it came out. And Mac PhotoShop in general since the early 90's. That said...
This just started today right in the middle of a project:
Normally I hold down my Option Key and drag a layer down to the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers pane.
Now I get a dialog popping up asking me if to give the duplicate a name (if it's multiple layers), or to ask if the default name is OK.
This wasn't happening earlier in the day.
Why has this all of a sudden started happening?
How can I turn the pop-up off?
I've tried resetting the prefs with Cmd-Opt-Shift on reopening PS5. Doesn't help
Yes, I know I can do this with Cmd-J, but I've doing the Opt-Drag methods for many years, and that's now how I'm used to working.

So, why are you holding down the Option key when dragging a layer to the New Layer icon? It should duplicate the layer without doing that.
If you hold down the Option key WITHIN the Layers Panel, it will duplicate the layer you drag. You may have been confusing those two methods to duplicate a layer. (A "senior moment"? I have had many.)

Flash player permission box pops up but won't go away

This little annoying box that aways pops up wanting permission to store things onto my laptop pops up and will not go away. How do I get rid of it? I have tried the settings box, checking the tiny box for it to not ask again but it keeps popping up anyways.

Mail asking for my password but won't accept it?

Hi I am having problems with my mail on my MacBook. It is asking for enter password for account, I put my assword in then it comes saying"the MobileMe imap server "mail.mac.com" rejected it"? Any ideas as this has never happened before?!?

Launch the Mail app.
From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then click the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Select your MMe account on the left then type in your password.
If that didn't help, open Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities
Select Password on the left.
Use the search field top right corner of that window to locate your MMe keychain.
Then right or control click the keychain, then click Delete.
Go back to the Account Information tab in Mail > Preferences > Accounts.
Type in the password. Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain.

Apple wants to charge for a repair but won't tell me what's wrong with my iPad

So my iPad mini is 1 year and 5 days old, and it suddenly won't power on. Nothing, even with a different charger and cable. The Apple website said to send in for battery/power issues, so I filled in the form and gave them my credit card for a little over $100.00 and sent it to them via UPS. That was 2 days ago, now I get an email saying they need to charge me $225.95+tax and I have 48 hours to either pay it or have them send the unit back. Nothing on their repair status tells me what is wrong and why the sudden increase in price for an iPad mini repair. I can call or chat online for another $19.00, but that seems like hiway robbery to me. I mean, I already paid you $100+, can't you even tell me what you found that needs another $225?!?!? On the repair status, there is an area called views of your product with a broken image file, so I can't even see what they are referring to.
If I way the $19, will they even be able to tell me anything, or will they just read what I can see on the webpage? I'm starting to think it will be cheaper to just buy another iPad mini at this rate.
Has anyone any advice ?

Well, I called Apple and talked to them last night. They were surprisingly very friendly. They emailed me a picture of the iPad with what they were concerned about. Now there is a dent in a corner, that I know wasn't there before. I take create care of the iPad and use a full bumper case. I explained to the repair tech that this dent is new and was not there when I took the iPad in for UPS. Actually, when I took the iPad to UPS, I had the unit in the original box (I'm OCD that way). The guy at UPS told me to take the iPad out of the box and then he weighed the iPad, some bubble wrap and an empty box. He then said it was good to go and I walked away with the original packaging. I honestly suspect the damage happened at UPS. Plus a small dent in a corner shouldn't affect battery, right? Anyway, after talking with a few people at repair, they noticed that their records show the iPad being 1 day out of AppleCare.
The last guy was going to just charge me for the battery replacement, which I am good with. But, guess what, Apple can't partial charge, it's either all or nothing. So, after about an hour of being on the phone, they will repair or replace the iPad at no charge to me (just this once, only).
I have to admit, that calling and talking with these guys was very helpful. Everyone was friendly and cheering. Plus I wasn't calling India (no offence to India). I am definitely going to continue purchasing Apple products if this how their support works. If only Cisco could learn to work that way...

Palm desktop flashes on for a second but won't open

I have recently replaced my Tungsten E with a Tungsten E2. Although it hot syncs properly, I cannot access the palm desktop leaving me with having to do all updating through the device only. Thinking it was a problem with the software, I tried to open the palm desktop on another computer on which I had it installed some years ago. There is obvioius some sort of conflict but I can't figure out what. I rarely used the palm desktop so was not aware of the problem until recently. I have had complete computer crashes in the past year and had the computer properly serviced but that is the only thing I can thhink of that may have caused the problem. I removed the software and reinstalled it several times but it made no difference. Anyone else have this problem?

Palm recommends you turn your AntiVirus software and firewall off temporarily when installing Palm desktop.
You need to have Admin rights, and not use the "switch user" option, but be the only user logged onto the computer.
Try reinstalling with all the above conditions intact.
