A quite complex problem

hello,
I'm trying to write a program that should be composed of two kind of parts: a kernel and some separate packages the cooperates with the kernel. These packages should contain text, images, sound and classes.. because every package behaviour is different I chose to use some classes for every package and I chose to load them at runtime. The problem is that this package should be contained in only a single jar file (also encrypted with jce) and I don't know if it's possible to load a stream of bytes and use it directly to render an image (without specifying a path, also because the image doesn't have to be extracted from package).. can anyone tell me if it's possible or not?
another unrelated question, to load some files (always for the same program) I used a ProgressMonitorInputStream that throws InterruptedIOException, now I wanted to stop the thread that loads the file when cancel button is pressed so I tried to find a way to stop a thread, i tried thread.interrupt() but it doens't work, what should I use assuming that I don't want to use deprecated methods?
Thanks a lot for your help,
best regards,
Jacopo

  • Password Complexity problems on fresh install of Server 2012 R2, This has not been answered before....

    Hello all,
I have a problem that I can't find the solution to. I have found others with the same problem but the answers provided to them were not the exact situation I am in currently. Please read all the text and see if you can answer this...
I downloaded a copy of Windows Server 2012 R2. I am installing it on a stand alone PRE OWNED server which is a Dell R900 quad quad core server with 16gb ram and 500gb drive. The drive has been initialized and configured perfectly and windows server has been
    loaded.
Upon the start of it, the screen appears that tells you to change your password for the admin account. Upon putting ANY (and I do mean ANY) password in there regardless of the complexity, the machine comes back with ..." The password you typed does
not meet the password complexity requirements set by the administrator for your network or group. Get the requirements from your administrator, and then type a new password."
I have tried new drives with no luck, I have tried everything that one can try on this (except the right thing of course). My guess is that the machine retained some crazy complex password file and stored it in an EEprom on board. If this was a factory fresh
machine, I would guess that this wouldn't be an issue as there was no file created yet that the machine is running it's scripted denial from. So... Does anyone have the exact method for eradicating this file or changing the domain controller or file that
controls this complexity problem WITHOUT HAVING TO LOG INTO THE MACHINE since as I said, you can't log into it. I even tried to go in through Linux to find the password in the SAM and since it's a new copy of windows, and there is no passwords in there, it
couldn't find the file since the admin acct wasn't set up yet (but that domain controller is working it's butt off and keeping me out I tell ya! lol)
Any help would be appreciated more than you know! ...Scott

    Hello Phillip,
Thanks for the reply! Yes, the drive was put in the machine with no other drives (500gb SAS) and installed/initialized without incident. The DVD was put in the DVD drive and the OS was installed on the machine. As the machine starts up again after
install (reboots) the text comes up that says that you have to change the password on the administrator account due to this being the first install of the OS. I put in a password, and then put it in again, then get the statement about the password being entered
doesn't meet the complexity level set on the domain controller and to contact the admin of the network. I then looked up what that was referring to and used a series of passwords that should have worked as they matched the exact complexity that windows stated
in their tech knowledge base. Such as ... P@ssw0rd and another like Pass\/\/0rd!! as well as quite a few others with various names and symbols. Each time meeting or exceeding the 8 chars with upper and lower case with symbols
present. Each and every time that complexity statement in yellow comes up.
I tried changing and initializing 2 more disks and downloading another copy of windows server 2012 R2 and tried it all again. Still the exact same thing. I have never seen anything like this before. I have installed windows server 2003 and 2008 in the past
many times without errors like this but this one really has me beat as to what is wrong.
I read a tidbit on a way to go to DOS and take some files from the DVD and copy them to certain locations on the drive the OS is installed on. That is supposed to write over the files that provide the complexity issues but where ever I saw it, they didn't
go into detail as to what exactly to do. I know others have had the same problem in the past but every answer I can see either doesn't address the question or provides the wrong answer altogether.
That's why I am posting here in a last ditch effort to save this project since the same exact problem is happening when I tried to install windows server 2008 R2 as well. I thought I may be able to just go with 2008 and get that running without the issue
but when I wipe the drives completely, and reinstall onto the drive the 2008 version, the exact same thing comes up.
If you have a solution, I would love to hear it! Thanks again...Scott

    IPhoto 6.06 “quit unexpectantly” problem
    Running OS 10.4.9
I dragged some jpegs into iphoto for import
The jpegs were dated 2002 and named tom001.jpg etc.
While importing they caused iphoto to unexpectantly quit
When iPhoto is relaunched it begins to load photos and quits after 15 seconds
Seems like it may still be trying to import
I have deleted out of the library (thumbnails and originals) the photos that were imported
I have tried rebuilding the database but iPhoto continues to quit
I have rebuilt the thumbnails (long and short version)
I have used disk utility to repair disk permissions
I have tried all of the below from this apple support link
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107947
Additionally I Have created a new user and imported the suspect photos. I photo is now stable. Also I pointed the new account to a duplicate of the damaged library to a external drive. Can not se roll names. Rebuilding small icons as a experiment.
    HELP
    Thanks in advance D Wells
    G4 power book   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    DWells:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
See if either of those will help.

  • Complex problems synching with Tiger 1.4.3 upgrade

After finally getting the courage to upgrade to Tiger on my iMac G4, I do have problems synching.
I have a Zire 21 Palm. Nothing worked so I upgraded the Palm Desktop Software to 4.2.1 as required. Went to HotSync Conduit settings and enabled HotSynch for this Palm device. Opened iSynch, went through the enable Palm synching. Get the message to finish setting up your Palm OS device you need to select the HotSynch conduit in HotSynch Manager. (But I thought I already did that.) Anyway, I press the hot button, after a while it says connecting to Palm device, but the job never stops. I have to cancel, and no data has been transferred.
I ALSO have an iPod. I explore this, I plug the iPod in after upgrading the iPod software as suggested. I set the contacts and calendars panel to synchronize (and to update podcasts, too), Now iTunes keeps telling me it's updating my calendar and contact information. It tells me this for over an hour. I have to go some where, I cancel, when I come back, it goes back to its labor. I don't think it should take this long.
I also think the .Mac synching isn't working quite right, but I'll settle for a solution to the other problems.
Bottom line, I still have no way to carry my calendar around with me. Help is needed.

Ok, here is a copy of the iSynch log. I had never looked at this before.

11:22:09 AM Warning Device "Jim Andris" synchronization cancelled
You suggest reconfigure iSync so that calendars and tasks are turned off - and contacts are turned on - without making any other configuration changes
I went in and changed all other conduits in the Hotsync Manager to Do Nothing EXCEPT FOR iSync conduit, which is enabled.
Then I unchecked the Calendars and checked Contacts on the Zire 21 menu on the iSync panel. I pressed the hot button on the Zire at 9:23 am. It said “Connecting Jim Andris” (which is my user id) Then it switched to just Connecting… It is just spinning with about a tenth of the bar in blue.
    Later (10:15 am)
In the Zire 21 log it says

  • Quite complext problem - INSERT into PAYMENTS

I am trying to use the following code to insert data into the payments table. The code does work, the user is prompted for the order number (3 times - but this is ok). The fnext time this code is used the order number previously entered is used again without the user being prompted. This assignment is due in next week so any help would be great. The code is:
    INSERT into Payments values(Payments_seq.nextval, '&order_no', initcap('&Payment_Method'),
    (select sum(order_details.cost) from order_details WHERE '&order_no' = order_details.order_no),
    (select (orders.date_of_order+7) FROM orders where '&order_no' = orders.order_no), &Amount_Paid);
The table we want to enter details is called 'payments' but we want details taken from order_details which is another table.
    Pam

    Use "&&order_no" to prevent re-prompting.
Use "UNDEFINE order_no" to unset the variable.
btw the problem would seem to be to do with setting and clearing SQL*Plus substitution variables, and nothing to do with inserting, payments tables or query complexity.

  • I have quite a problem here, if anyone could help me, it's complicated.

    Ok here is the situation,
I tired to buy new music on my iTunes and it said "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari." So I went my System Update and my only update was Mas OS X Update Combined 10.5.8 so I clicked to update it and put in my password and it started to download when it stopped because it said "The update Mac OS X Update Combined can't be saved. You do not have appropriate access privileges. The Installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder." So I looked in my Finder and in my Trash for the installer package, and I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I decided to try and download a newer version of Safari 4.0.4 for Tiger but I couldn't because it said "You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.4.11" (and I checked under the About This Mac and it said it was a 10.5.2, so why couldn't I download all this stuff?) This whole problem started when I couldn't buy new music on my iTunes, can you please help me with this whole messed up situation? Thanks, KB

The latest version of iTunes requires 10.4.11 or later. Safari requires 10.4.11 if using Tiger or 10.5.8 if using Leopard.
Apparently you have permissions issues on your system. I suggest trying the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

If you're using Logic 9, you can pull the project up ( by double clicking it ) from the media browser window and import the tracks into a new arrange page manually.
If it crashes after a full import, then start again but pull the tracks in a few at a time, then save, then do a few more and save again but using a different name. Then you can always revert back to the pre-crash version.

  • Can't force quit applications problem during Time Machine backups

I've run into a frustrating problem with Time Machine. I'm using an external 750gb USB hard drive as a backup disk with my Mac Mini; the connection is visa the Firewire 400 port.
When I'm doing anything that's CPU-intensive while a Time Machine is backing up, it is a 50-50 chance that one or more applications will crash. It is impossible to Force Quit them, which means that it is impossible to log out or shut down. The user is faced with a choice: Kill the whole system, and risk corrupting the system hard drive, or yank out the Time Machine disk's connector, and risk corrupting the Time Machine backup. Of course the latter is preferred, and that's what I've done. Thus far, I haven't seen any corruption on the Time Machine drive, fortunately, but in order to work with my system, I have had to disable Time Machine backups while I am working. (I reconnect the Time Machine drive overnight.)
I know from some Google searching that others are experiencing this problem. My question is, has anyone figured out why this is happening, or developed a workaround?
    Regards,
    Bryan

In the process of restoring my MacBookPro from an external TM drive as we speak. I can say with almost 100% certainty that force restarting (holding the power-button down until the book shuts off) will corrupt your start up disk to some extent.
My problem is that I was away from my network when TM tried to do an update. I'm not sure if TM was actually able to connect to my server but none the less I was on a verizon wireless card and so even a minor backup would have been slow.
I needed to shut the computer down and leave. I have had TM hang when trying to shut down and tried to tell it to stop the back-up (which it tries to do for hours on end and have had to force quit before... had to run disk first aid that time) So this time I figured Id leave the computer on (though unplugged) while I drove home.
I did not close the case until the screen went dark. Unfortunately, it had just gone to sleep (a half hour later) instead of shutting off but I did not know that at the time so I shut the case then.
When I plugged it in in the AM it was dark but not black... I could just see the screen and could see it was frozen. Force restart completely screwed my startup disk. Luckily I have a BU from the night before.
Maybe TM should also be linked to the location, and or connection you are using. So, if I am away from my LAN it will automatically turn off. I also wish I could set it to back up every x hours instead of every hour.
Good idea... just needs some work on the routines. (only an hour left on my restore now)

An odd little problem just occurred. I have a HP Scanjet 7400c scanner, and the latest HP scanning software. It’s not great, but it works; I’ve had no problems with it before (not on this particular G5, anyway). Today I noticed that the little black arrow in the Dock that indicates the app is open was sat next to the scanner software icon. I was working in Photoshop cs2, but I hadn’t opened the scanning software!
I saved and closed all other apps and tried quit the HP software. Nothing, so tried to force quit the app. Nothing. Couldn’t restart the Finder, couldn’t restart. In the end I was forced to shut down by holding down the power button, after which I repaired permissions in Disk Utility, ran Cocktail and did a swift session on Diskwarrior to make sure everything was OK. No problems found.
I’m not au fait with everything my G5 does, but I want to keep it healthy. Anybody got any idea what this was – and should I worry?

My HP 3970c starts up without my prompting either. Although it, if I click it in the Dock lets me quit it directly from the Dock. Check your Apple menu -> System Preferences -> accounts -> select the login account that you use, and click on Login items. You'll see whether or not it is set to automatically start up there.

  • Complex Problem with Time Capsule and Network

I have setup an airport network based on a 500 gb Time Capsule which for about a year was working perfectly. Last days some problems came up. The network is shared to 2 different macbooks pro. The first macbook pro works perfectly, the internet connection is stable and fast. The other macbook works weird: Although it finds the network the internet speed is very slow and not stable. Also it can't backup on the time capsule as it used to do (msg: can't find the server). Ι have the same network settings for both the macbooks pro and I had several times restart and reset the time capsule.
    Thanks in Advance
    Costas

I suspect that you are using someone else's airport connection. That would let you access the internet, but not access your file server. go to the airport menu and make sure that you are using your airport connection.
If that does not work, does everything work well when the computer is within a few feet of the time capsule?

  • High complexity problem...

we have got a big problem here, maybe someone can help....
we need to make a diferent page (a blog, in this case), for each final user of the portal... this page must have an option to be selected on the top level navigation bar...
We want this to be created automatically each time a new user is created... is this possible? i`ve been able to create the iView, the page, modifying the properties of both, but i cannot create the role to show the page..
I will reward with a lot of points, goods and anything else:)  to the one that gives me a nice solution....
    thanks in advance to everybody..

    Hi Alejandro,
what about creating one role, one page, one iview? First you assign the role to everybody. Now the iview should have the starting RID pointing the to a folder of the current user (/alias/documents/<user.id>/blogs/). If the user uses the iview - the folder structure will be created automatically.
    Se this for more details:
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=241915&tstart=45">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=241915&tstart=45</a>
Now you don't have to maintain a pack of roles and asign each role to each user - there is only one role for every user. If the user does not want to see the role - just unassign - that should be less complicated like creating a role for every user.
    Hope this helps,
    Romano
PS: or a "proxy iview" could help - search for "proxy iview Detlev" in Portal forum - what do you think Detlev?

  • Complex problem: 802.11n, Bluetooth, Iphone 4 and Magic pheripherals...

    Hi folks,
    My hardware:
    - Macbook Pro with Apple LED Cinema Display
    - Magic Mouse, Trackpad and Wireless Keyboard
    - Time Capsule as WiFi Router
    - Apple TV
    - Iphone 4
    - Airport Express as WiFi printer connection
    My problem:
    - As known, time machine backup causes lags on BT devices when WiFi is run in 802.11n (b/g compatible) and switching to 802.11n only (5GHz) solves the problem. I solved the problem with my WiFi printer (Samsung 4500W, 802.11b/g) by connecting it to my Airport Express.
    - The persisting problem is that my Iphone 4 only supports 802.11n (2,4GHz) and this frequency seems to still interfere with BT so at this point I have to live with the following: Using my Iphone as a remote in my Apple-powered network with lags on BT peripherals OR using BT peripherals in a 802.11n (5GHz) environment without using my Iphone 4 in the WiFi.
Does anyone know a solution to this?
And if the guys from Apple read this:
    - Please update my Iphone to 802.11n (5GHz)
    - Please remove the f...... mouse acceleration in Lion ;-)

When connected to the wi-fi network, on your iPhone go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Select the right facing arrow in a blue circle icon to view the wi-fi network settings. Select Forget this Network at the top.
Follow this by rejoining the network.
If no change after this, on your iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will erase all wi-fi network settings for all wi-fi networks you have connected your iPhone with and will require re-joining every wi-fi network you have access to including your own.
