A Thank You on a Support Foru

I just wanted to thank SSR and the other contributors from everyone on this forum. They have been a great help to everyone on this board - and they are just Creative customers like the rest of us.
So thank you, now go have some eggnog

I think someone at Creatives got a genius idea about this support forum. But the most important thing, for me anyway, is to see that there are Creatives employees who are answering questions in this forum (and thanks to the others, also). You wouldnt believe how big of a difference it makes when you get a chance to complain about your product and have someone from the company actually answer. Sometimes you just need to complain a little to let your frustration flow out :-) I got a MuVo N200 a few weeks back, and although it's far than perfect, I was able to get an answer from support here and knowing that someone at the company knows about my issues makes my purchase worth every penny I spent.
A little note to those complaining about Creatives. Lemme tell you one thing, in my experience there is no perfect MP3 player on the market right now, it's still a relati'vely new market and one of the biggest MP3 player seller, iRi'ver, won't even have people answering questions on their support forum, they also released many buggy firmwares. Anyway the idea here is that I get the feeling Creatives really want to help their customers, and if some of their devices are faulty, they're gonna do as much as they can to fix the problems, unlike many other companies who'll just go silent and try to ignore their customers for as long as they can.

hello there, this is really urgent i would like to ask if there is a way to deactivate/lock my Mini Ipad because it was stolen, i hope you can provide me a way to do so, thank you for the support and i really hop you can help me, i bought this mini ipad not too long ago.

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did enable it then you could try locating and/or remotely wiping it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you haven't already done so then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model you should also contact your carrier.

  • FCP 7 short clip via share export keeps blinking and does not react. Thank you for your support!

Try to export renederd short clip in FCP 7 via Share, but export knob keeps blinking and does not react. Please help,
    thank you very much!

I did notice the "sequence" indicated 32 bit and all the clips, wav music, etc. are 16 bit.  Is that normal?
    May be but I would.
    • Convert all material to formats that FinalCut has easy to use and that match the Final product (Movie)
    • especially the Audio file .wma, wav etc and 32-bit - is no good start
    - convert them to .aiff 16-bit 44.1kHz or 48kHz
    • Set up a NEW Project - BUT FIRST select - right kind of project depending on material - AND FINAL MOVIE PROPERTIES.
THEN FIRST - Start a NEW PROJECT - Else it will not work.

  • 64bitVista: thank you for the support; finally.

My iPod Touch is now recognized, Yess!. All is flawless, so far. Task manager still shows 32bit, bummer. Where is the iTunes64Setup.exe, I did an automatic update. Does that mean there is a 64bit code?

If it's turned off, then it's not trackable.  If you mean you blocked it with a passcode, that's a good step.  That means it's virtually impossible for them to get into your phone and get your data.  You can also try a remote data wipe via Find My iPhone, if it comes back online.
However, it's easy to restore a phone as new.  Best bet is for you to contact local law enforcement, and your wireless carrier.  As your carrier to blacklist the device.

  • I've lost my home and go back one page icons, how do I get them back? I reinstalled Firefox but it didn't help. Thank you!

My toolbar is all messed up. I no longer have a "go back one page" arrow or a "home" icon. I have tried added them as add-on, but nothing changes. I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox but it is still the same! Help please. I hate having to go to my history to go back one page. Thank you for your support!

Support problem. The adviser tried to diagnose the failure of an application called JOTNOT PRO to update. He said he'd phone back at 8pm. I pick up his call at 8pm. Electronic voice: thank you for calling apple. We are now closed" So now I have 2 problems: the adviser had got me to reset so bye bye wifi passwords and settings. And then when he phones back as we agreed he's not actually on the phone, it's just a voice saying Apple Support is now closed! What on earth is going on at apple support I wonder.
Anyway, the original problem: an application called JotNot Pro fails to update. The error message says something like "you cannot update this cos either you bought it with a different Apple ID or somebody else bought it."
    Neither applies. Can anybody help?
PS. This is my first approach to the support community so please bear with me!
    William

You might have better luck contacting the app's support or developers.

  • I have a model 1,1 Mac Book in the black case.  How can I transfer about 30 GB of stuff to a MacBook Pro running Yosemite?  Can't do a Thunderbolt transfer.  The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8.  Thank you.

How do I transfer 30 GB of stuff, mostly text documents, bookmarks and a few hundred photos from a MacBook model 1,1 in the black case, purchased in (2007?) running Leopard 10.5.8 with a 667 bus, 2 GB, 256 GB to a MBP 13" Retina running Yosemite 10.10.1?  Using Migrate is out.  Discovered after I bought it that the Seagate Plus Backup for Mac does not work with 10.5.8.  OnetoOne recommends backing up my data before I do that, which seems like a good idea.  Have a 801.11 n Time Capsule that also isn't working so that is not presently an option.  Thank you.

The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8
The only reason I can see for that is it's formatted NTFS, which would likely be Read Only in 10.5.x, if you can reformat it MacOS extended, which would erase everything on it now, then that should work for your purposes.

  • HP DV7-4073 Hinge & Case failure. (THANK YOU SUPPORT TEAM)

I am hoping this posts will help others as there are many other posts like it that have been closed due to one reason or another. The stated cases of these HP Laptops having hinge issues after so much time and use is a growing concern and people know the HP name but find out after their purchase that the level of service is not what they expected. Personally, i purchased an HP DV7-4073nr back in October 2010 for school to get my degree. Around a year later, the case was cracking and splitting, and then the dreaded hinge issue came up. Fast forward 4 years later to today and thats where the happy ending finally happens.
I sent an IM to an HP support rep (JeffHelp) thinking that i would never hear from anyone again about my problem. Not only did i get a voicemail (never answer 800 numbers) with a case number AND a case manager name, but i also got a case management callback number. after about 30 minutes on the phone I was told my unit (verifying serial number and model number) was way out of warranty as well as end of life/end of service. Luckily, i was talkign to someone who cared enough about living a dispoable lifestyle and helped me not only find the correct part, but was able to apply a very generous discount to the overall cost.
Searching online for parts yeilded a very expensive cost for like new or grade A/B parts so i didnt think that spending over 100.00 dollars Americn for a single base piece was worth that. to my surprise, without even asking or questioning me it was added to my order. I am not going to go into great detail about that transaction but it was a complete jaw dropper and shock to me, and in a very good way.The bottom line to this post is that, yes, the products do obviously have some defects, and yes HP may have chosen to omit those facts after it was obvious and provide desirable compensation or repair for their products.
One fact remains that even with parts; computer, car, or otherwise, if you want OEM, you are going to pay the OEM price or risk your money on ebay looking for the best replacement. Take a few minutes and research your exact problem, your part number(s), and what effects the damage may have had on the overall condition of your laptop. Once you have it all figured out, CONTACT HP. Create a thread, send an IM, shoot them an email. Do something. They seem to be caring more about their reputation lately as i have seen many support reps and and mods on this forum replying to customers and members, replies from those people saying how amazing they were treated, the really good options they were offered and how they had some of their faith restored in HP's customer service over the years.
I would like to give a HUGE thank you-shout out to JeffHelp and Terri in the support division for all of your help, the unbelieveable customer service level you both went to and the understanding/concern for follow up that was offered. i am actually looking forward to my parts hoping they fix the problem and being in the support industry, i DEFINITELY think that credit is deserved where credit is due, especially in this case.
The last thing i would like to say is that support is all about hearing the negative and bad results on a daily basis over and over until you want to jsut walk away shaking your head. I think in the light of all these performance issues their equipment is having, its high time we recognize the team members who go above and beyond to do what it takes to make an HP customer a happy customer! So here is my shout out to Jeff and Terri.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
You have restored my faith in HP Customer Support Division and I have a completely new outlook on your teams for their effort to make things right with me. Keep up the amazing work, we may be far and few inbetween, but those of us who egt that level of support, appreciate every bit of it.

  • My Mac with OS 10.5.8 says I cannot open Firefox because it is not supported on this architecture. I tried to update my version, and this is all I get now. What can I do to use Firefox again? Thank you.

My computer is not allowing me to utilize any version of Firefox, after multiple downloading attempts. I simply get a message that Firefox is not supported on this architecture, and the Firefox icon in my toolbar now has a circle on it with a line through it (Canceled). I hope that someone can explain what I need to do to be able to use Firefox once again. Thank you, TC

As you have a PPC or Power Mac the last release form Mozilla to work on PPC is Firefox 3.6.*
Firefox 3.6.23 can be found at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Since you have a PPC Mac there is this third-party option for Firefox 7.0.1 at
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
As of Firefox 4.0, a '''Intel''' Mac with OSX 10.5+ is required for Firefox builds from Mozilla. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/7.0.1/system-requirements/

  • Trying to install AOM in Bridge CC but can't find the "Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions" folder - where is it? Thank you!

After updating to 10.9.2 the Finder changed and I feel something is hiding - for example, I no longer seem to be able to "GET INFO" about my hardrive... only my drive and "my documents" etc... maybe this has something to do with not being able to find this folder:  Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions

Jeff... Yes. I meant to mark this solved - found another thread recommending using FINDER-GO TO- and /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions.
    It worked easy.
That little bit of info would be a great addition to that install AOM instructions.
    Thank you for asking!

  • I just downloaded Firefox 5 and it said that my Yahoo toolbar will not work with it. Is this true? If so I will not use this new version and will switch to another browser if Firefox stops supporting the Yahoo toolbar. Thank you.

I just downloaded Firefox 5 and it said that my Yahoo toolbar will not work with it. Is this true? If so I will not use this new version and will switch to another browser if Firefox stops supporting the Yahoo toolbar. Thank you.

Add-ons contain a range of compatible Firefox versions, and Firefox honors the listed range by disabling the add-on if you are trying to run it on an unlisted version.
I'm sure Yahoo! will update its toolbar eventually, but not every add-on maker supports beta versions of software.
