A variable that reffers to a class.

I want to make a class that in the constructor defines type of class, like the constructor for ArrayList, with the brackets around <Object>. How do I do this?

Thanks, that is what I was looking for, thought the code is a little different than what you said. The constructor doesn't matter, '<T>' just has to be at the end of the class name.
public class MyClass<T>
}Is it possible to make it so the class type specified has to implement or extend another class type?

  • Creating class wide variable that gets re-initialized every time

    I declared a class-wide variable in my jsp document using the <%! %> tags:
    <%! boolean HasMoreRows = true %>
    I set this variable to false in one of the private jsp methods (also declared within <%! %> tags) when the program is supposed to terminate (there are no more rows left in my database result set).
    When I run the jsp document the first time after modifying it, it works fine. But if I hit the browser "back" button and then hit the "submit" button on the jsp page again to recreate the database result set, the HasMoreRows variable has the same value it had after the report ran the first time (that is, it is set to false).
    I think this has something to do with the way a servlet is created and re-used by the servlet container. I have to set the variable in a method so I cannot use a local variable (i.e. a variable declared inside <% %> tags). Does anyone know how to declare a variable that can be used anywhere inside the jsp document (including all methods) but gets reset to its initialization value every time the jsp document is run? Thanks.

    I think I figured out the solution. It is to declare the variable in the <%! %> tags but initialize it in the <% %> tags.
    <%! boolean HasMoreRows; %>
    <% HasMoreRows = true; %>

    Hi,
    WebExpensesAMImpl$ExpenseTypeAmount is an inner class that you cannot access from outside of the class in which it is specified

  • How do I create a variable that is a time?

    What I need is a variable that is a time such as 13:00 that can be used in an equation like 13:00 - 12:30 = 00:30 or 13:00 - 12:45 = 00:15 etc.
    I have no idea how to do this because if I use something like:
    var Onsite = 12:30
    var Offsite = 13:00
    I get the following message:
    Consecutive statements on a line must be separated by ;
    It is pointing to the : and that makes sense but if I use this:
    var Onsite = "12:30"
    var Offsite = "13:00"
    Then I can't use it as an equation because it is being treated as text.
    Any ideas?

    Look at the NSDate class if your using Objective-C (or Swift), it can be used to create points in time (date + time) and can determine the distance (in seconds) between to points, using the -timeIntervalSince* methods.

    Yeah!!! It works. Turned out to be a combination of DrKlap's and Martisan's suggestions -- had to change var frame's declaration from JFrame to MyFrame:
        MyFrame frame;Next, created the external class -- but again changed JFrame references to MyFrame:
    public class ShowOnExit extends WindowAdapter {
    //   JFrame aFrame;
       MyFrame aFrame;
       public ShowOnExit(MyFrame f) {
          aFrame = f;
       public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e)
          System.out.println("Why me???" + aFrame.textArea.getText()); // aFrame here not frame !!!
    }This worked. So looks like even though the original code added a WindowListener to 'frame', the listener didn't couldn't access frame's methods unless it was explicitly passed in as a parameter. Let me know if that's wrong.
    Thanks again, all.

  • Create record variable that refers dynamic query assigned to a ref cursor?

    Hi ,
    Just explaining what I am trying to achieve:
    1) i have a hr.departments table that was loaded in hr schema on 1st oct 2012 with 4 columns(department_id, department_name, manager_id, location_id)
    2) now I have a new schema by my name 'rahul' and I have loaded departments table but now an additional column has come into picture,ie created_date, this table got loaded on 1st-Nov-2012
    3) Now going forward my columns could be dropped from the departments table (it can be a case), for example might be my departments table in my schema 'rahul' one day could comprise of only 3 columns(department_id,department_name,manager_id)
    4) Now in the next step, I have managed to extract common column names(in a single line where columns are delimited using a comma) from both the tables(hr.departments and rahul.departments) which are (department_id, department_name, manager_id, location_id) using all_tab_cols table and I have written a function for it which i will be pasting below.
    5) now going forward, using the above column names line with column names delimited using comma, I have used a ref cursor and assigned a query to it using the line of columns that I have extracted from the above point
    6) Now I want to create a record variable which refers to my ref cursor, something like we do when we create a record variable by reffering to an explicit cursor defination that we give in the declaration block.
    PS:
    1) I have been out of touch with plsql for a long time so I have lost a lot of mmeory regarding plsql.
    2) basically I need to compare data in hr.departments table with rahul.departments table for only columns that are common to both the tables, rest new or discarded columns information will go in one of the log tables that I have created(this is done already)
    Please help me, I did try searching on google for the same but it really confused me very badly, any kind of help is appreciated, please find my code below:

    This thread is basically nothing more than a continuation of your original thread except now you are finally explaining what you are really trying to do.
    Re: passing table name to a procedure and then need to open a cursor ..
    In that original thread you said you found the solution
    >
    Well Mate thanks for your suggestion but I got it working through ref cusror, thanks for your time.
    >
    So I ask you to post your 'solution' and when you finally did it was clear that you hadn't solved anything at all. Your solution used a ref cursor all right but the code relied on a record ('record_employees') that was based on a table name ('employees') that was declared within the procedure. There isn't much point in passing in a table name if you have to hard-code the table name in the procedure.
    create or replace procedure p_ref_cursor(fp_old_table in varchar2)
    is
    type ref_cursor is REF CURSOR;
    v_ref_cursor ref_cursor;
    record_employees hr.employees%ROWTYPE;
    begin
    open v_ref_cursor for 'select * from '||fp_old_table;
    loop
    fetch v_ref_cursor into record_employees;
    exit when v_ref_cursor%NOTFOUND;
    dbms_output.put_line(record_employees.employee_id);
    end loop;
    end;Then sb92075 ask you the question that illustrates what I just said
    >
    what happens when you pass in "HR.DEPARTMENTS" ; besides throwing errors?
    >
    And you blew him off with this
    >
    Mate, departments never came in my context, in my prior message I explained what I was trying to achieve ... so I dont know what problem you are understanding reading my posts.
    >
    And now here you are asking how to get this to work for the departments table.
    It is very difficult to help someone that won't tell us what it is they are really trying to do so we can try to suggest some better ways of doing it. Hopefully, in the future, you wil start by explaining your problems instead of focusing on the solution you think you should use.
    Back to the issue -
    The first thing you should do is finish defining the requirements. Assuming the above actually works to identify columns that have different data what are you going to do with that information?
    1. Do you need to save that different data from TABLE1 somewhere?
    2. If you don't save it how will anyone look at it to decide which table has the correct data?
    3. If you do save it how will you save it 'generically' since other tables will have different columns and datatypes?
    4. What about the data from the same record in TABLE2; do you need to save that data somewhere?
    5. Will these two tables have primary keys? Are they on the same columns in each table? If not what if TABLE1 has one record but there are TWO records in TABLE2 that are identical. Is that a match? Or is that a problem because TABLE2 has an extra record even though the record is identical?
    In short detecting the differences is just one small part of the entire problem. You also need to save those differences somewhere so someone can examine the data and decide what action to take. That is the more difficult part of trying to implement a 'generic' solution.
    But now that we know what you are really trying to do take a read through this thread from 6 years ago. It has three different ways to pass a query to a procedure and get different output. You may want to save a copy of the thread since it has some very advanced techniques in it.

    I think the reason why this thing happened is that I am using Point123 return type in insidePoint method. To midlePoint method in segment class, it does not affect whether I remove toString or not. That is because I use its own String return type.

  • UCCX8 Is There a Sesion Variable that contains the Call Control Group ID

    Hello,
         Is there a session variable that contains the Call Control Group ID of the trigger that called the script?
    -Lauren

    Hi Lauren,
    sorry, after two hours of analysing call hierarchies and running debugs, I gave up. I can't see any way of getting that value programmatically, in other words, I don't see any public field or method that would yield the desired value.
    However, if you want to use this only for debugging purposes, then getting the contact using the Get Trigger Info step, assigning it to a variable named contact (of type Contact) then calling the following method on it:
    contact.getTask().getTrigger() (which automatically calls the toString() method) would return a String similar to this - and it contains the ID of the Call Control Group apparently:
    "ContactApplicationTrigger[time=1356102368509,locale=en_US,cfg=JTAPITriggerConfig[schema=ApplicationTriggerConfig,time=2011-09-14 18:28:25.0,recordId=414,desc=Cisco JTAPI Trigger,name=82152,type=Cisco JTAPI Trigger,appName=TRAPPA,enabled=true,sessions=5000,idleTimeout=5000,locale=en_US,parms={},taskGroups=[],controlClass=class com.cisco.call.CallControlChannel,controlGroupId=1,contactGroups=[GroupInfo[class=com.cisco.dialog.DialogChannel,id=0]],dn=82152,redirectCSS=redirecting.party,cmDeviceName=TRAPPA_82152,cmDeviceInvalid=false,cmDescription=TransRouting IVRA,cmDevicePoolUUID={978D6B59-356E-FC92-81A9-3AAE9F843120},cmDevicePoolName=DP_Main_C,cmCallingSearchSpaceUUID={87083019-FEBF-9B48-742B-7658396D1D5C},cmCallingSearchSpaceName=CSS_mobily_normal_HelpDesk_IS,cmLocationUUID={29C5C1C4-8871-4D1E-8394-0B9181E8C54D},cmLocationName=Hub_None,cmPartitionUUID={10003B1B-F235-16A7-927D-01EB3DCCB57C},cmPartitionName=P_operatori,cmVoiceMailProfileUUID=,cmVoiceMailProfileName=None,cmCallPickUpGroupUUID=,cmCallPickUpGroupName=,cmDisplay=,cmExternalPhNumMask=,cmFwdBusyVM=false,cmFwdBusyDest=,cmFwdBusyCSSUUID=,cmFwdBusyCSSName=None,cmAlertingNameAscii=,cmPresenceGroupUUID=ad243d17-98b4-4118-8feb-5ff2e1b781ac,cmPresenceGroupName=Standard Presence group],contact=JTAPICallContact[id=16548,implId=3206772/2,state=STATE_ANSWERED_IDX,inbound=true,App name=TRAPPA,task=38000443987,session=17000062888,seq num=0,cn=82152,dn=82152,cgn=0725099603,ani=0725099603,dnis=null,clid=null,atype=REDIRECT,lrd=78866,ocn=78866,route=RP[num=82152],OrigProtocolCallRef=000000000030EE740228F81300000000,DestProtocolCallRef=null,TP=81122]]"
    Looks like the cfg field cannot be accessed, but the automatic toString() method is kind enough to dump all this information.
    Hope this helps.

  • Retrieving only private variables that have getter

    I want to list all variables that are readable outside a given class. None of the variables are public but the relevant ones have a getter.
    The java.lang.reflection packages allow me to get all the fields but I only need the ones with a getter. I thought about retrieving the name, with that construct a String getFieldname and check if a public method with that name exist with no parameters and a correct return type.
    Is there a more convenient way to achieve that functionality?

    I want to list all variables that are readable
    outside a given class. Outside? No.
    If you have a class then it is simple enough to use reflection to do this.
    That means you have to have to start with the class though. And in that case it has nothing to do with whether it is "outside" or not.

  • SELECT-OPTIONS for variables that cannot have a range

    Hi all,
    There is an option to show only one input-field for a select-options declaration by using the 'no intervals' option. But it is still possible for the user to specify ranges when doing multiple selections (i.e. specify intervals for the variable).
    However, if I have a variable that implicitly does not have ranges, (e.g. 'Arjun' TO 'Shankar' makes no sense at all), I want to let the user do multiple selections for it, without allowing him/her to enter ranges for it.
    Can I do this in a selection screen in any way (even if it involves not using select-options)? And if yes, how?

    Use this:
    SELECT-OPTIONS xxxx FOR yyyy NO INTERVALS
                                               NO-EXTENSION.

  • When I click on firefox I get a java script error that says "TypeError: Components.classes[TvtPwmComponent_CID] is undefined", what does that mean?

    Whenever I click on firefox, or when a pop-up occurs, I get a java script error that says, "TypeError: Components.classes[TvtPwmComponent_CID] is undefined". I don't know why. It first occurred while I was on ESPN while trying to watch college games live.

    This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

  • Using a Meter control in LV Touch Panel, and using shared variables that are custom controls.

    I Just started using LV touch Panel module with an NI TPC-2106.
    I have two differenct problems:
    1) I was planning on using the "Meter" control quite a bit. I can set up the meter exactly how I like on the host PC, but on the touch Panel computer it seems to ignore my adjustments, mainly the start and end of the scale - i.e. I would like control to run from 0 to 360 with 0 straight up, using the entire circle. However, on the Touch panel computer it always puts 0 at about 7 o'clock and 360 at about 5 o'clock. I have also tried adding markers to no avail.
    2) I am communicating with a compact fieldpoint controller. I can creat a shared variable that is a simple double with no problems. However, I have some shared variables that use a custom control for the variable type - bascially a cluster with a couble doubles, a time stamp, and an enumeration. It lets me drag the shared variable into my diagram, but it seems to ignore it when I run it.

    Ipshita_C,
    - I am using LV 8.6.1f1and LV Touch Panel 8.6.1.
    - I have attached a simplified VI that shows how I want to use the meter. Notice that the placement of the endpoitns does not work correctly on the touch panel, and that it ignores the arbitrary markers that I placed.
    - I also have included an XY graph control that displays on the TPC with margins around the graph area that I removed from the graph control.
    - For the shared variable, it appears to be an issue related to the touch panel, not fieldpoint. I found another thread in this forum that mentioned that clusters containing Enumerations do not work in shared variables on the touch panel. I changed the enumeration to an integer and it now works fine.
    In general, there seem to be a disappointing number of limitations in the touch panel implementation. My biggest concern is that I have not found any documentation from NI that lists these limitations. I seem to have to try things out and see what works and what does not work. Can you point me to a comprehensive list of touch panel modules limitations?

  • When I open Firefox, the browser does not open. Instead I get a small window that says: TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined. How do I fix this?

    I tried to uninstall AVG antiviral software, but it did not uninstall. Next, when I try to open Firefox I get a box popup that says:
    TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined.
    If I click OK in that box, I can then open Firefox.
    Also I can no longer update Java.
    Help!

    Possibly you have "AVG Safe search" extension installed as part of "AVG Free", solution involves reinstalling :AVG Free" without the Link Scanner component see

  • BEx: How to change a Query Variable that is not visible in Filters List?

    Hello Experts,
    Good day, I'm currently editing an old query, I am changing the Query Variables with new ones, but I found one variable that I cannot replace.
    Please see the screenshot below, in the Query Properties Window [Variable Sequence Tab (right side of picture)] the Variable that I am trying to replace (Unit) is visible. But when I look for the variable in the "Filter Tab" (left side of picture) under Characteristic Restrictions, it doesn't exist in the list.
    How can I find this Variable and replace it with a new one?
    Other reports are still using this variable so it will impact the other reports if I simply edit the variable. So I need to replace it with a new variable instead.
    Thank you for your time.

            SInce you are searching for a variable for Unit, look into below screenshot and navigate to the variables.
    First click on drop down and select 'Entry for variable' then you will get lisl (after you click on drop down in 'Target Unit' drop down option.
    Normally these type of variable called 'Formula Variable' try editing any of the formula and locate the option as shown below,
