Able to Remove Bill of Material when there is existing Production Order

Hi All,
Is this logical?
A bill of material (AAA) is created with a couple of components attached. Then production orders are raised against this Bill of Matierial (AAA). SAP B1 still allows user to delete the Bill of Material (AAA).
According to the usual standard in SAP B1, the master cannot be deleted when there is document attached to it.
How is this so?
My version is SAP B1 8.8 SP 0 PL21
Regards
Jessie

Hi Jessie,
Yes, it is very logical, since SAP treat BoM not as a master data in usual way master data as you know. Keep in mind that even in BoM table, OITT and ITT1, SAP use the item master data code as a BoM code. If your finished goods is AAA, then the Code field in OITT and Father in ITT1 also same with AAA.
Which means, it is the Item master data - Item code is the actual reference to Production Order. Try it by yourself, if you already assign AAA in Production Order, you can't delete it from Item master data. When you assign the item master data in production order as the finished goods, system actually only copy respective raw materials from BoM and copy it into the production order. Consider it as a template, not a transaction - master data relation.

  • No Planning file entry when materials received against production order

    Hi,
Planning file entry is not getting created when I receive material from a Purchase order where account assignment category is 'F' - Order. In other words, the material is received against a Production Order.
We run MRP automatically through MD01 and it will not run for the material as there are no planning file entries.
MRP List MD06 shows the purchase requisition and the production order even though the production order requirement has been met.
Please help me out with this issue. I really appreciate the help the community members have given me earlier regarding my questions related with the planning file.
    Sincerely,
    Ketan

    Hi Dhaval,
    1st Scenario
When I receive material through a Purchase order and receive it into stock, then MRP is able to run because planning file entries are created when I receive the material and clear out the MRP list as the requirements have been met.
    2nd Scenario
When I receive material through a Purchase order and directly against a Production order (Direct Procurement) , then MRP is not able to run as planning file entries have not been created even if the requirements have been met.
How can I prevent the 2nd scenario in future where production order and purchase requisition exist in the MRP List but since the material has been received against a production order therefore MRP will not run and clear out the MRP List?
    Sincerely,
    Ketan

  • How to track material consumption before closing of Production Order

    Hi all,
My customer needs to track online material consumption in Profit & Loss statment.
Now when we take trials, we found that if we do not close a production order then Change in stock a GL under Expenditure drawer is not updated, and also the cost of good sold is only updated when we post sales delivery transaction.
Now the issue is that my customer wants to track online material consumption, meaning once material is issued for a production order then it should appear in P & L  under expenditure.
We are using default valuation method as Standard for the Finished Good Item group, due to which WIP Inventory variance GL (we are using Change in Stock under Expenditure drawer of COA) gets updated on closing of work order. Second GL Cost of Goods Sold gets update on posting Sales Delivery. The difference of these two GL shows correct Material consumption, but for this we need to post Production Order close and Sales Delivery transactions.
    I wish  to know that
1.Is it possible to track online material consumption in SAP B1 ?
(Here online meaning if we post only material issue transaction, and we do not have posted production order close and sales delivery transactions )
2.If yes, how to achive it?

Is your BOM's set to backflush? Yes
Have you specified seperate WIP accounts for each item group? Yes
Answer to your both question is Yes.
Thanks for your interest in the message.

  • Error when doing GR for production order with serial number

I'm not familiar with serial number and equipment management but I'm trying to help my user resolve this issue.
This product is returned from customer site.
I saw that this material is being reset in IQ02 from status in warehouse to become Available when the material is consumed in the production order via 261 movement type. So now the status is available. Then the user went to change a new serial number. Later, GR for production order is done in MB31. Errors are encountered when prompted to enter the new serial number.

Or how to know how much raw material is issued to WIP on a production order.
i nee dto have a report which has material cost and material overhead an dtotal.
how to build this report ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Sai,
You can try using MB51, use filter movement type 261. Add a filter for the posting date coverage.
Then proceed. Click on the icon DETAIL LIST.
Then click on the SUBTOTAL, add MATERIAL as a Criteria. The click the column AMOUNT IN LC.
You should see the total issuances to per material.

  • Planned material price in case of production order for sales order (MTO)

    Hi,
In case of production orders created for sales order, the planned price for a component (BOM) material gets picked as per following:-
    1. If there is no entry in EBEW for the component (that is, there is no previous GR for the component) for that sales order, then plan price is picked up on the basis of planned costing variant.
    2. In case there is an entry for the component in EBEW (there has been a previous GR for the component with reference to the sale order) then the plan price for the component is taken from the EBEW table (first GR price) and system ignores the costing variant.
The above is as per my observation. Please validate if this is correct or not.
The requirement is that even if there has been a previous GR for the component (there is an existing entry in EBEW) the system should take the plan price on the basis of costing variant and not from the EBEW table.
How can this be achieved? Is there a user exit that can force the system to read the costing variant before looking into the EBEW table?
    BR
    Abhi

    Hi Ajay,
Yes i had considered it but I'm not sure If it will help.
Because the main problem here is that system is ignoring the costing variant itself and instead picking the price from EBEW table. So changing the costing variant (validation variant) may not help.
Moreover i don't want to valuate with my own strategy. I want the plan price to be equal to standard price of material from material master. Basically MBEW instead of EBEW.
    Any clues?

  • Material Cost Not Shown in Production Order if planned with MD50

    Hi,
We have run MRP MD50 for a sale order item ie FERT material which has BOM Items. All the stock of the BOM items is tranfered from Unrestricted Stock to Sales order stock. FERT ITEM planned order is converted to Production Order and all the BOM items sales order stock is issued against PO & Sales order no with Movement Type 261E.
After confirmation and goods receipt stock of FERT is shown under sales order Stock of Fert Material.
We can see the cost of operations but cost of materials consumed against the Production order is not displayed in Production order Cost analysis..How material cost can be displayed????
If i create PO with out refering the sale order that is normal process i can see the cost of materials triggering in Production Order.
Can we settle the varience when we are planning against sale order???
    Some one Pl help us.

  • Error when creating IMG CO Production Order

    Hello experts,
In IMG I am trying to create new order type with Order category 4 (CO Production Order), however when using transaction KOT2_OPA
    Order type ZD00
    Order Category 4
    I get the following message
Enter values in work area for non-key fields
    Message no. SV174
I am using version 4.7 with Highest Support pack SAPKH47028
    Can anyone help
    Regards Debra

    hi,
By using the transaction KOT2_OPA (which is started in the IMG
during the Customizing of the internal orders) internal order types can
only be created (Order categories 01,02 and 03). With the order category 04 it concerns CO production orders; please maintain these by using the transaction KOT2 and/or above the Controlling IMG path -> Product Cost Controlling -> Cost Object Controlling -> Product Cost By Order -> manufacturing orders -> Check order types.

  • Material costs not captured in production order

    Hi all,
After clicking 'Cost order' (Ctrl+F7) in production order header screen, if i am checking the cost component structure(Goto->Costs->Cost comp. structure) of production order, only the operation costs are captured. The materials costs are not captured here. Please suggest me in this issue.
    Regards,
    Krishna Chandra.

Hi everybody..thanx for the replies..i want to clear the following things to u,
    1. Costing variance key is PPC1 for planned and PPC2 for actual.
    2. I have maintained the prices in the material master - MAP for child items & Std for the header item.
    3. This is happening for all the production orders
    4. I have kept the costing relevancy for all the materials in the BOM.
Apart from these please give me the possible inputs to solve the problem.

  • My MacBook is 5 years old. Until recently, I had no problems. I had a CD that got stuck in the drive and I was able to remove it. But now there is a grey screen with a file folder and question mark in the middle. How do I fix this?

I have tried rebooting the MacBook several times as well as resetting it. If I turn it off and then turn it back on while holding "option" a mouse appears on the screen but nothing else. This started earlier today when the screen froze and I had to restart the computer (with the CD still in it). I have not been able to get back to the computer since.

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the operating system files on the  hard drive are somehow corrupted or damaged.
If you don't have your install disks you can get the 10.4 gray disks by calling AppleCare. 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need. With the original disks you also get the iLife that was current when your MacBook was bought included on the #2 disk.
Or if you don't have any files you want to recover from your hard drive you can get Snow Leopard for $29 if you have at least 1gb of RAM and a working DVD drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY You would then erase and reformat your hard drive and install Snow Leopard. You won't need the box set unless you want the latest iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps you can get them from the App Store in 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote and Numbers for $20 each.
If you have files you want to recover you can get a larger hard drive and put your old hard drive in an external case. After you install the Mac OS on the new hard drive you can plug in the old hard drive in the external case by the USB connection and try to access it that way.

  • Is anyone able to explain really poor performance when using 'If Exists'?

Hello all.  We've recently had a performance spike when using the 'if exists' construct, which is a construct that we use through much of our code.  The problem is, it appears illogical since if can be removed via a tiny modification that does
    not change the core code.
    I can demonstrate
This is the (simplified) format of the base original code.  It's purpose is to identify when a column value has changed comparing to a main table and a complex view
    select 1 from MainTable m
    inner join ComplexView v on m.col2 = v.col2
    where m.col3 <> v.col3
This is doing a table scan, however the table only has 17000 rows while the view only has 7000 rows.  The sql executes in approximately 3 seconds.
However if we add the 'If Exists' construct around the original query, like such:
    if exists (
    select 1 from MainTable m
    inner join ComplexView v on m.col2 = v.col2
    where m.col3 <> v.col3
    print 1
The sql now takes over 2 minutes to run.  Note that the core sql is unchanged.  All I have done is wrap it with 'If Exists'
I can't fathom why the if exists construct is taking so much longer, especially since the code code is unchanged, however more importantly I would like to understand why since we commonly use this type of syntax.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

OK, that's interesting.  Adding the top 1 clause greatly affects the performance (in a bad way).
The original query (as below) still runs in a few seconds.
    select 1 from MainTable m
    inner join ComplexView v on m.col2 = v.col2
    where m.col3 <> v.col3
The 'Top 1' query (as below) takes almost 2 minutes however.  It's exactly the same query, but with 'top 1' added to it.
    select top 1 1 from MainTable m
    inner join ComplexView v on m.col2 = v.col2
    where m.col3 <> v.col3
I suspect that the top 1 is performing a very similar operation to the exists, in that it is 'supposed' to exit as soon as it finds a single row that satisfies it's results.
It's still not really any closer to making me understand what is causing the issue however.

  • When there is error in order Alert Management  will trigger the alert

    Hi SAP Experts,
At present in schedule condition we have whenever the order is not in open status,it is not a template and if it contains error at time Alert is to be triggered.
" Product  is not in the entered catalog/variant" is the error message which should not trigger alert  as the order is in open status when this error occurs. This working fine before SP Upgrade from 12 to 18 but now it has stop and the alert is geting triggered inspite of the same shedule condition.
Please suggest what might be the issue during upgrade that the condition stopped working for ALM.
    Regards,
    Jaya

    Hi,
implement logic in ABAP proxy to push data when validation check is correct, this is right approach to perform validation.
Even we can achieve this in PI Mapping.
Create ALERT rule for this interface and forward CC errors to ECC Team.

  • Have to provide a popup when there is a Sales order change(VA02)

    Hello,
I would like to know how to capture Sales order changes(VA02) through an enhancement. Based upon users changes which can be either a addition or deletion in sales order then I have to provide a popup. I am unable to find out whether Sales order has undergone a change or not. Field r185d-dataloss is alway having 'X' whether data has changed or not. System field SY-DATAR is not capturing any deletion is sales order.
I am using USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE but unable to check sales order is changed or not.
I need to provide popup after user clicks on Save. Tables CDPOS & CDHDR won't have current sales order change.
    Thanks for your replies.

I am using USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE but unable to check sales order is changed or not.
Donot do any changes and hit save. check if this routine is triggered if you are not changing anything.
In program MV45AF0B_BELEG_SICHERN there is a condition
    IF R185D-DATALOSS = SPACE       FORCE_UPDATE   = SPACE     AND
           UPD_VBUK IS INITIAL        AND
           UPD_VBUP IS INITIAL.
The else part will only tirgger if its changed. The routine USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE is called in the else part.
