ABNAN

Dear All,
I am getting error during Tcode ABNAN,
"Fiscal year 2011 is incorrect for post-capitalization of asset RI01 3002189-0,      Message no. AAPO012"
Giving details for your Reference.
Created Asset Code with AS01 wirh Post Capitalisation option.
Now i want to POst capitalise my  Asset.
I have given input in ABNAN as
Document Date and Posting date as "Today's Date" (i.e 03.02.2012) and  Orig. Value date as "01,04,2008".
Also checked in Tcode OAAQ, Here Close Fiscal Year is 2009. i.e FY 2010 and 2011 is open.
Also In OB52 , current FI Period 10/2011  and 11/2011   is open for my Variant.
I got some detail in SDN messages tahe, "The posting with transaction ABNAN is only allowed into the year after the last closed FY"
Now My FI Period for FY 2010 is closed , so i cannot post in FY 2010 .
I have  FY 2011 is open. so how to Post this Transaction as it's giving above error.
Also checked in Other SDN messages but could not get clear solution.
Pl suggest me some solution to solve my problem.
Regards
Swati Shah

hi swati
there are 2 things you can do:
OPTION1. go to AJAB and close 2010 year and try to post capitalization for 2011.
OPTION2. do capitalization with normal JV
                pass entry as
                                      asset    70 with t type 100
                                      offsetting acc  50
this offseting acc would be same account mentioned in ABNAN

  • ABNAN- Asset Posting Captitalization

    Dear All,
I am try using ABNAN for changing the asset value.
The asset was capitalized on 2013.09.08.
After runing ABNAN, i enter Orig. Value date with 2014.06.08.
It pops up the error message AA566.
I want to know if the Orig. Value date must be in previous year?  Meanwhile Tcode ABNA can run with no errors.
What is the difference between ABNAN & ABNA? Very appreciated for your help!!!
    Cheers,
    Jill

    Hi Jill,
please check your business process. The post capitalization is to be used once you had an expense posting in the past, which should have been capitalized on a fixed asset. The value date to be entered has to be in the past so that the system can determine the portion of expense which has to "remain" and the incorrect consumed expense which will be caught-up by a revenue posting.
In case the original posting has been done in the current (open) fiscal year, the system offers the possibility to reverse the original process and re-process it correctly to capitalize it as fixed asset.
In case your original value date is in the current year you can use transaction ABZON to post multiple acquisitions in one transaction.

  • LSMW recording with TCode ABNAN

    hi guys,
i wonder whether someone can help me, i created a recording using Tcode ABNAN, this recording was running well using foreground session, but it always failed to run when i use background session.
i hope someone may share this experience, thank's anyway....

    hi
    good
The LSMW usually has 3 or 4 steps of execution:
    1) Read Data
    2) Convert Data
    3) Generate a Session / Process the converted file or session (These two are separate steps for a LSMW with BDC session).
If you want to schedule a job:
    A) The first two steps need the Files on Application Server. You must use App Server files in the Specify Files and Assign Files steps.
    B) The LSMW should preferably not be BDC session based. You will lose the benefit of scheduled processing, as the LSMW and Session will be two separate schedules. Sychronizing these and tracking the Sessions may be difficult.
    C) You need to note down the ABAP program names for the three steps and create the relevant variants.
    D) Then, schedule the three programs in a single job in that sequence.
Note that each LSMW may need a little different approach.
    thanks

  • Problems retriving the asset created in a batch input using Abnan

I created a batch input program that use the transaction ABNAN. I need to create a report with all the assets created and their respective documents in the batch input. However, that information is not given in the messages that are retrieve when the transaction is called. I use the following code:
      CALL TRANSACTION tcode USING bdcdata
                       MODE   call_mode
                       UPDATE update_mode
                       MESSAGES INTO messtab.
At the end of this, messtab have a message id that correspond to this message:" text was saved".
The asset number and the document # is given in a pop up message that appear when the person press save. This message is not included in the batch input.
How can i get the asset created and its respective document?

  • Revenue from post-capitalization from transaction ABNAN

I am working for a local governmental entity, and I am trying to add assets to our system that should have been recognized as acquisitons in previously closed fiscal years. I understand that the transaction I should be using is ABNAN, post-capitalization, however; a problem that I'm running into is, after I post the transaction and perform the next step, transaction ASKB, to post full and contra accrual account postings, I get the following error message: "Revenue from post-capitalization could not be found". We do not have that account set up, nor do we think it's applicable. These are not donated assets from outside our organization,  these are simply assets that did not get captured through our normal acquisition processess. Is there a way to run transaction ABNAN and not get this message? Might this be something that can be changed through configuration? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help and information Kartik. We are almost done with this being resolved. In the process of creating the assets using AS91 we are encountering an error message regarding the Date of the Legacy Data Transfer. This date is currently 06/30/05. Since we want to use a capitalization date of 06/30/07, is there any negative impact on changing this transfer date to 06/30/07? Changing the date in a test environment allows us to proceed but I wanted to make sure there were no negative impact since we are not familiar with the purpose of this date.

  • TCode ABNAN

    Hi Folks,
I have this scenario where my asset was not capitalized which was purchased in 2008.
I have created asset master using AS01 with capex date : 01.09.2008.
My closed fiscal year is 2008. I have opened the fiscal year 2009 and 2010
I try to use Post Capitalization(ABNAN) for such scenario.  with the below values
    Document date: 23.02.2011
    Posting date :23.02.2011
    org val date: 01.09.2008
Note my current fiscal year is 2010(April - March)
    Am getting the below error
"Fiscal year 2010 is incorrect for post-capitalization of asset AC02 900001-0"
please let me know whats the issue
    Thanks,
    Rashmi

I wasn't sure if you are talking about the opened fiscal years in FI or in AA..
A while back, our Fixed Asset person received the same error message and when I researched it I was able to provide the following resolution involving the fiscal year in Asset Management. I am not sure if the case is the same for you...
The error message being received was the result of having a posting date in the current fiscal year 2008 and the previous fiscal year in Asset Management 2007 was still open. After running the transaction to close the previous fiscal year 2007 (AJAB), the error message was no longer received.

  • ABNA vs ABNAN

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We have an interface document where it call tcode ABNA to post capitalization for TTY 400.   We changed to from ABNA to ABNAN to address error "Transaction in Area 01 contradics the net book value rule".   And yes, it was address using tcode ABNAN.
However,  new error was encountered [The date entered is not in a closed fiscal year AA566]..wherein tcode ABNAN prevents to post capitalization in the current year...it will only allow posting in a closed fiscal year.  But ABNA allows to post capitalization in current year...Why?
Please help me understand...all i know, is that Post capitalization = Usually post capitalization is used in order to enter a acquisition for former already closed fisal years. Therefore you get error message AA566 if you enter a date which is in the current fiscal year.
Please enlighted me,...how come i am able to post capitalize using trans type 400 in tcode ABNA but not in tcode ABNAN?

    Thank you Bernhard,
    Additional question please.
In case an asset was capitalize this year 2011 let's say Feb 2011....then later on this month of August 2011, we realize that we need to perform adjustment from the acquisition, say we need to add additional 100 for this month...can i use TTY 100 by using tcode ABZO?
On Business logic,  you think this would be acceptable?
    Please help.
    Thank you!!

  • Effects of reopening closed periods in Asset Accounting.

    Hi SAP Gurus,
My client wants to open the closed periods in Asset accounting. I have used T Code OAAQ and changed the last closed period.
I would like to know what are the effects of opening the closed periods.
Will it effect the already posted depriciation and what further steps should I take after the entries are passed.
Even after I opened the period both in FI and AA it still is giving me a message that I cannot post to this year.
    Can you kindly suggest.
    Thanks in advance,
    Hari

If you post any entries to the asset , the depreciation will change in asset accounting and will not match with the general ledger unless depreciation posting run is executed.
However, since you have already executed depreciation posting, AFAB selecting repeat run in the last period or special period if your company code have  special periods.
Caution:  It will change the P&L and Balance sheet balances.
Please check the Post Capitalization Option (ABNAN) for asset values missed in the past for capitalization

  • Posting Depreciation for last year in the current year

    Hi,
We have a situation in which we have to book depreciation for assets that were put into service since last year in the current year. The depreciation expense was accrued and reported when the year was closed out. However SAP wouldnt allow us to calculate the depreciation for anything before 01/01/2009. The assets were put into service in July of last year and hence we need to post 6 months of depreciation that we accrued last year in this posting period (when we will be capitalizing those assets). How do we go about doing this?
    Here is what we tried:
    1. Manual Depreciation: Doesnt work. The depreciation key we are using (LINA) doesnt allow manual depreciation
    2. Changing the ordinary dep start date: You can change this date to last year but it wont calculate the depreciation from last year. It just starts the useful life from last year. The depreciation that is being caught up starts from 01/01/2009
    3. Unplanned Depreciation: This is not an option because it goes to a different G/L account. The client wants it to be in the regular depreciation expense account only.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
So far my knowledge goes there is no way wherein you can capitalise assets in currnet year and account for dep from the previous year unless you go for post capitalisation vide ABNAN.Let me try to explain it by the following example.
    FY: April to March
    APC 10000/
    Rate od dep   10%
    Ord dep Start   01.10.08.
Asset capitalisation date 01.10.08 but posted in the system on,  say   01.04.09.
    Line items for ABNAN
    70   Asset A/c     10000
    75   Acc Dep                          500(on 10000 @ 10% for 6 months)
50 Rev for post capitalisation 9500.
    FB60 Line items.
    31   Vendor Account       10000
    40  Prior per dep                   500
40  Rev from post capitalisation  9500.
I do hope you will be able to clear your confussion.
    With best wishes

    Hello SAP Gurus,
The error occurs during asset master record creation.
Our fiscal year variant is Z6 (July to June). The asset was acquired in June 15 (previous fiscal year) but was only set up on July 30 (this fiscal year) . When we put the depreciation start date as 15 June the error appeared. While saving the Asset master we are getting below error.
We tried the same with Post Capitalization of Asset (ABNAN) there also we are getting same error.

    Hi,
have you generated the period controls properly? If not, the error is raised correctly by the system.
To generate period controls go to:
IMG Asset Accounting -> Depreciation -> Valuation Methods -> Period Control -> Generate Period Controls    / or you can use OA84

  • Creation of an Old Asset

    Hi All,
Our Company had purchased some similar assets about two years back through direct purchase. But the company did not create any asset master record for those assets and even did not calculate the depreciation. But these assets are now under operation .
Now the company wants to bring those assets into the SAP system and provide the depreciation for last two years. But the last year had closed.
How do I treat this issue?
I request you to all, please provide your valuable opinion.
    Thanks with regards,
    Ran

Yes you can follow the steps suggested by Dominic.
You can also do the following -
Go to ABNAN, and from there you can create the Asset master.
So you can use this transaction for both posting the Value of the Asset and also creating a new asset.
    Thanks

  • Asset Value Date - Wrong posting

    Dear All,
Company code is on live, Assets legacy data taken as on 31st-March-09.
Later we find that some of the assets [new purchases, in previous fiscal year (2008)] was not posted.
For that recently we posted that transactions F-90 using posting date is current date and document date is Actual acquisition date.
Due to document date in previous fiscal year system taten posting date as asset value date.   So, depreciation posting missing for previous year.
I need your help.  How can I rectify this???
Other than reversing the existing posting, what is the scenario????????
    Thanx
    Regards
    partha

    Hi,
In order to post ,post capitalization please closed the previous asset accounting year.In ABNAN T.Code screen please update the original val date field with the date  of the previous year from where you need to start calculating the dep. Doc date and posting date should be of the current FY.Also check T.Code Ao90 for updating the field Revenue from post capitalization with proper GL Account.
If your statutory audit for 2008-09 is not yet completed then you can think about T.Code AS91.While  using T.Code ABNAN the following line items are generated.
    Asset        dr
    Acc Dep         cr
    Rev form post capitalization cr
The system will only calculate dep of previous year. For the current year dep which are yet to be posted will be posted in the next schedule dep posting run.
    Thanks

  • Acquisition Year parameter in AS03 is blank

    Hi there,
I'm facing another issue here about TCode: AS02 (Change Asset). This is a different case with normal asset as this asset is customer pay dies. The asset is belongs to customer but we have to keep records in our Asset Master Record. And for the 'Deactivation On' date, we have to input manually instead of like normal asset retire then get the date. My problem is for the parameter 'First Acquisition on' and 'Acquisition Year' is blank. It doesnt read from 'Capitalized on' parameter. Did I have missout some step or any mistake when i create my Asset? Do you have any idea for me how to get the 'Acquisition' date. Thanks in advanced for your help.

    Hi Paul,
Much appreciated for your replied. Now i just realized that I have to select the Post-capitalization when i have create new asset, then i will get my First Acquisition On and Acquisition Year.
My issue is, i did not select Post Capitalization for my previous posted asset, do posssible for me to select the Post Capitalization in Change Asset? Or other way to post my First Acquisition On and Acquisition Year manually? Thank you.
I tried to post Post Capitalization thru TC: ABNAN, but get error of "No depreciation areas have been defined for asset 11111111". For your information, because this asset is Customer Pay Dies, so no depreciation on this asset. Can you help on this method? Thank you.

  • Asset wrongly capitalized

    Hi
I wrongly capitalized one asset of Rs.12000 (Doc date, posting date and asset value date: 15th July 2010). Depreciation is also posted till December 2010
Now as per auditors, the same should be expensed out in repairs account. WDV as on today is Rs.7350.
Now i need to reverse the entire transaction (including depreciation, accumlated depreciation). Vendor is paid in july itself.
FY is from April 2010 to March 2011. I tried with ABNAN. But its telling that the date is not in closed period.
Please help how can i rectify.

    Hi,
    Steps you should follow.
    1) First change the depreciation key in the asset master to "000" (zero depreciation)
    2) Do repeat run of depreciation, so that the depreciation recalculates and the net depreciation posted will be come zero.
    3) Scrap the asset. Here the entry will be
             Loss on sale of asset
                To Asset
    4) Mannualy post an entry
               Expense (corresponding GL)
To Loss on sale of asset.
Note: First try this scenario in you Dev or Quality Server.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards
