Abnormal cost for GR material

Dear Experts,
We have two production orders for which GR posted on the same date . The header material  R1 has the same material R1 as component . The production order header material is maintained in kgs and the component in MT ( Rs 50 / kg ). But while doing GR for one production order the value of the material  become abnormal ( Rs 15000 / kg ) while the other production order it is correct ( Rs 55 / kg  ) . The actual cost of issued material and the activity costs are correct for both the orders. Please advice how to proceed.

Pijush,
Since the confirmation is not reflected in the backend, but you are able to do the same in SRM, can you confirm if you have configured message type MBGMCR as outbound (from SRM to ECC) under partner profile  in SRM and distributed the same?

  • Reducing freight cost for undelivered material

    Hi Experts,
Summary :  The material supplier vendor needs to be paid for full quantity of material. The freight transport is allowed an under tolearance of 0.5% on the material to be supplied. If the delivered material quantity breaches the 0.5% under tolerance then amount at 1.5 times the cost of material for the shortage is to be deducted from the transporter. A dummy GR will have to be prepared for the undelivered quantity for which we do not want the freight cost to be loaded. The details scenario is mentioned below :-
We have to make a Purchase Order with material code say ABC for procured of some material. Suppose we make a Purchase Order for 100 nos. at a Unit Price of Say Rs. 10/- for Material Code ABC on say Vendor M/s XYZ. A freight condition is maintained in the Conditions Tab and suppose the Freight is Rs. 10 per unit of the material.
While preparing the Goods Receipt through MIGO, in the Freight Tab we select say freight vendor say M/s PQR against the freight condition and post the goods receipt.
While doing Invoice Processing in MIRO, when we enter the combination of Purchase Order and Planned Delivery Cost the system will populate the vendor codes of both the supplier of material and the transporter. On selecting the transporter the freight amount will populate against which the invoice of the tranporter can be processed.
In the Vendor Master of M/s XYZ GR-Based Invoice Verification is activated.
The vendor is allowed an under tolerance of 0.5% (i.e. the vendor should deliver at least 99.50 nos. of the Purchase Order). If the vendor delivers 99.50 or more then there will be no deduction in the freight charges.
But suppose the vendor delivers only 99.4 nos. of the quantity. Then we will prepare the GRIR for 99.4 nos.only. But while processing the MIRO we need to deduct 1.5 times the value of the material from the freight amount for the shortshipped quantity, i.e.
0.1     no (99.5 u2013 99.4) X Rs. 10/- * 1.5 = Rs. 1.5 are to be deducted from the final payment from the freight amount of the transporter.
The material supplier will have to be paid in full 100 nos. of quantity and will raise an invoice for 100 nos. A dummy GRIR for the 0.6 nos. of undelivered material will have to be prepared for processing the invoice for the 100 nos. of the material supplier and a dummy issue for 0.6 nos. of undelivered material will be prepared to remove them from the system.
Hence the freight cost for this 0.6 nos. of undelivered material will also go into the cost of the material and increase the MAP by that amount. Also the goods issue Cost will also have the effect of the freight cost.
We do not want to load the freight cost for the undelivered material in the value of the material.
Can any one please suggest a solution for the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    AJ.

  • Sales order costing for Configured Material (Material Variant Not KMAT Mat)

    Hi All
For a Configured Material (Variant) (Not KMAT Material), which is having Std price costed.
But if we create a Sales Order for the Configured Material, what options are availale to Execute Sales order costing and take the sales order value to COGS during Delivery.
The reason being Client wants to Cost BOM items are price which is different from the Price used in Std cost estimate due to Price Volatility.
I can understand we can do this in KMAT, but not sure how to do in Conifgured material. We can execute sales order costing and get Statistical cost value in EK02/EK01, but how to get this value posted during PGI..?
    Thanks
    Aravind

    Hi Ajay
Even if i maintain M in Valuation filed, my Material Variant HALB material is already having standard cost in its material master and it is picking the std cost during PGI Delivery and hitting COGS A/c.
Now how to get my sales order costing to real and post my sales order costing value to GI..this is the client requirement.
Due some complication KMAT is not used and logistics go with Material Variant

  • Cost for adding material to iTunes store and podcasting

Does anyone know how much it cost to podcast or to sell your own your own material in the iTunes Store. For example, does iTunes receive a certain amount of commision from each sell that you make.

The iTunes Store receives a percentage of all sales of music. Contact Apple via their web page for iTunes Marketing.
They’ve reportedly been swamped with requests, so don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back from them soon or indeed ever. If you don't hear from them, you might want to consider signing up with an indie label or marketing service that already has a relationship. In another post, an Apple employee said that there are 600 already, including CD Baby and IODA. A new service that seems promising if true is TuneCore.
There is no fee for Apple listing your podcasts. For information, see this web page.

  • SAP allows release of Standard Cost for Material with Moving Average Price

    Hi
We set our Raw Material to use Moving Average Price (V) and price determination 2 (single level). And we activated material ledger.
During mass calculation of standard cost (CK40N), If user accidentally forgot to restrict the Raw Material for being included in calculation, the system calculate standard cost anyway, even though I set it as Moving Average Price. And user is able to release it too without any problem.
Why the system does not restrict it? By giving error maybe. Although as for now I can not find the wrong effect from releasing standard cost for MAP material, by your experience, is there any side effect that I should be aware of?
    Thanks

CK40n is mass release of all materials. The release is not dependent on price indicator of the material in the master. It will calculate standard cost of all the materials.
Releasing standard cost estimate of raw materials does not have any side effect as long your calculation is based on moving average price.

  • Costing Run for Configurable Material

    Hi,
When I try to run costing run CK40N for KMAT material, I am geting information "No materials selected" for the 'selection' flow-step.
    Below is the Error description.
    No materials selected
    Message no. CK277
    Diagnosis
Due to the costing variant used, no materials could be selected for the cost estimate.
    System Response
    No materials were selected.
    Procedure
    1. First, check that the materials you want to cost exist.
    2. Then go into Customizing and check the costing variant, the reference variant, and the transfer control. If the plant changes, a suitable transfer strategy must be entered in the transfer control belonging to the reference variant.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shiva

    hi Shiva,
It is not possible to do the cost calculation for configurable materials in CK40N or CK11N.
To do the product costing it is mainly required the BOM and Routing, but in case of configurable materials the BOM and Routing are not fixed(here Super BOM/Super Routing are used with valid object dependencies which may result in "n" number of material variants)
To do the costing for configurable material you can use t code - CU50 (configuration simulation)
Here in CU50 you can select the characteristics values which ultimately selects the valid BOM and Routing required for variant production and do the costing and check.

  • Costing run for a material with alternative BOM

    Hi Friends,
My requirement is to have product costing for a material with 3 different BOMs, in CK11N i can change the alternative BOM number to have costing run for 3 differesnt boms, but in ck24 how to proceed, My client requirement is such that the standard price should be the average price of the costing run from 3 different boms, and they are not interested in manual price change in MR21
    Regards,
    Arun Kumar R V

    Hi Arun,
You can have a Standard cost estimate based on only one of the alternative BOM and Routing. This alternative is selected based on the business ie., whichever alternative is generally used in production frequently. This will be the std cost and whenever you do the production using the other alternatives, the difference in cost will be captured as Variance.
There is no option of having average or cost estimate for each alternative at the same time.
There is absolutely no use in maintaining price in MR21 for an in house produced material, since during Prod Order process the planned costs will be arrived at based on the quantity structure of BOM & Route only.

  • Costing run for the material in Physical distribution Plant

    Hi experts,
There's a material both creates in productoin plant 1000 & physical distribution plant 1999. (same material number)
However, BOM & routing only create in prodution plant 1000.
How do we copy BOM & routing (in prodution plant) for the material creates in Physical distribution Plant and excute costing run for it? (we need to excute costing run every month, so standard cost for the material in productoin plant 1000 & physical distribution plant 1999 needs to be the same every month.)
    Thanks in advance.

    HI AO
    1. There is no standard feature to copy the BOM/Routing from Plant 1 to 2...
While creating in PLant 2, you can give the reference of Plant 1.. Or you can use some BAPIs to do the same
    2. If you want same std cost in Plant 2 as in Plant 1, then easier way would be to create a Special Procurement Key and assign the same in Material master - Costing View of Plant 2 (1999)
    Follow the steps below
    1. Go to OMD9
    2. Click on New entries: Enter your Plant = Plant 2 (receiver plant) "SP Pr Type" = Z1 and Proc Type = F;
    3. Under Special Procurement Secrion
Enter U as special procurement and Plant 1 in the Plant Field (Transferring plant)
    4. Save this entry, and in Mat Master of Plant 2, specify Z1 as Special proc key in Costing view (NOT MRP VIEW)
    5. Run CK11N in Plant 2... and release from CK24

  • Delivery cost for Stcok transfer through M.type : 351

    Hi Experts,
Can anybody explain how to capture the delivery costs for Stock transfer through M.Type 351.
Also kindly explain the steps involved in configuration of the same.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prabu

    Hi,
Once the Config releated to Setup stock transfer order is done.
To include the cost you need to include the pricing procedure related to STO needs to be assigned to your schema group.
    Goto SPRO -MM-Purchasing -- Conditions
Here you need to assign the Schema determination RM2000 to your Purchasing organization.
Then when you create the STO in the recieiving plant, then you will get the condition tab in the item details of STO, there you can maintain the delivery costs for that material & send the STO to your supplying plant.
Supplying plant will send the material through MB1B & with mvt type 351 to recieving plant.
At the time of Goods reciept system will capture the delivery costs in the recieving plant for that STO.

  • In costing view in material master

we are running some customized report
The values are from costing view2
at the time of running the customized report ,some value is zero for some material
because at the time of running the report, there is no costing for that material
after running the costing the values are updated in material master
once again we run the customized report
the values are not picking in our report

    Hi,
Have u marked and released the std prices. check at table level which fields are upated and compare with the fields you use in the customized report.

  • Costing Of Configurable Material

    We have a scenario here.
We create the sales order in the sales Plant
We do a STO  to Production Plant  where explode the  BOM  which has an configurable  sub-assembly
When we run an  MRP this creates a another  STO  for  the configurable material  to be produced in the supplying plant.
    Now, the questions are
    1) How do I create the cost estimate  for the configurable material
    2) How do I get it to reflect in my parent order.
    Thanks
    Siva

    Dear Siva,
In the case of configurable material, they will be having a super BOM and super Routing defined with object dependencies.
To do the costing for configurable material you can use T code - CU50 (configuration simulation)
Here in CU50 you can select the characteristics values which ultimately selects the valid BOM and Routing required for variant
production and do the costing and check.

  • COPA cost estimate from costing for COGS

    Hi,
we are using sales order costing (variant config), discrete(Prdn Order) and repitative (Cost collectors) in production costing.
Need to update COGS under COPA based on cost component structure using mat cost estimate. All mat uses mat type as ZINE for all cases.
There is separate costing variant for sales order and others. created 2 costing key in COPA and costing key 001 that is sales order costing to mat type ZINE. and assigned valuation class in next step so that discrete and repitative can get captured.
But it resulted in error during billing as system could not find sales order costing for discrete material.  So i assgned costing 2 with discrete and repitatve  costing variant to mat type ZINE aftter sales order costing variant.
Error got resolved but cost component split happens for sales order costing only and not for others. Please advice and also note that it is not possible to add material type or change valuation class due to complexity.
    Regards,
    Atu

    Hi Paul
    What is your purpose?
    1. If you just want to fetch the material cost estimate (std cost) in COPA, then what you are doing is not correct...For this,
    a. KE4U - Valuation Strategy 001 - (DETAILS Tab) assign 001 to Qty Field ABSMG and tick "Mat Cstng" indicator
    b. KE4U - (Assignment Tab) Assign 001 to PV=01 and Record Type = F
    c. Create a Costing key in KE40
    d. Assign Costing key to mat types in KE4J or KEPC
    e. Assign Cost Comp Split to Value Field in KE4R
    2. Costing sheet in COPA is used for doing some calculations during billing and updating the same to COPA... For eg: you want to add 2% of your Std cost as Freight to COPA (Statistical value)... This can be done using Costing sheet...
In order to use Costing sheet in COPA,
    a. Create a Costing sheet - (You already did this)
    b. KE4U - Val Strategy 001 - (DETAILS Tab)  Against Valuation Strategy 001 - Assign this costing sheet against "Application = KE"  and Qty Field = ABSMG.. Do not check "Mat Cstng" against this indicator..
So, if you want to use Costing sheet in COPA, your KE4U may have 2 entries under the "DETAILS" tab..
    (1) As per 1.a and 1.b above
    (2) As per 2.b above
    Regards

  • Actual Costing concept in Material Ledger

    Hi
Masters , can any body please explain the concept of Acutal costing in material ledger i think that involves the following steps:
    1 Activate actual costing.
2.Define userdefined names for receipts and consumption
3.Assign user defined names for receipts and consumption /
for the above 2 and 3 points what is the purpose we have to define and assign user defined names in coantrolling level selecting the B+ Procurement and V+ Consumption.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
Actual costing is a huge concept. It is difficult to explain the concept in few words
Please go through the following link for detailed informaton:
    http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/print46c/en/data/pdf/COPCACT/COPCACT.pdf
    Configuration Points:
Path: IMG>Controlling>Product Cost Controlling --> Actual costing/Material Ledger
    1. Activate Material Ledger for valuation areas
    2. Assign Currency types to Material Ledger Type
    3. Assign Material Ledger Type to Valuation Area
    4. Configure Dynamic Price Changes
    5. Define Material Update Structure
    6. Assign Material Update Structure to a Valuation Area
    7. Activate Actual Cost Component Split
    8. Activate Actual Costing
Coming to your Questions 2 and 3. they are required to be created if you want your own Controlling level for transactions that you would like to differentiate in the material ledger, further than the standard system offers. Normally we don't use unless there are some specific business requirements
    Some key points would be:
ML records all receipts, consumptions and variances for each material.
ML gives overview for each material of the starting balance, receipts, consumption, variance and ending balance.
ML calculates the actual cost for each material u2013 finished goods, packaging.
If a material has BOM, variances of lower levels are rolled up to next higher level up to finished goods, to calculate actual cost for raw material, semi finished & Finished goods in ML as unit price.
Calculated actual cost at end of month can be used as standard price for next period in the material master.
SAP MM is on standard price based costing, ML can do monthly average costing.
Direct settlement of all kind of price differences / exchange rate difference/ to materials at the end of the period.
Once activated , it is not that easy to deactivate although possible with implications like not having historic data.
Cannot be used in isolation : All the plants within the company code shall be material ledger active.
Material Price change is not possible after first transaction in that period.
Using material ledger, inventory in US plant in Canada will be available in USD and CAD
    Hope this would help you.
    Best Regards
    Surya
