About dragging of object into Query panel
Hai Everyone,
I have tried to get the shop name in the report level , by dragging shop id into the query panel.
Actually this resembles a self join in SQL where shop name and shop id are from same table.
Now I would like to know whether we can display other object which is not dragged into query panel in report level.
If yes, Can you please help me out.

You can create variables at the report level, using things such as IF THEN ELSE logic.
Anything that needs to be brought in from the database must be brought in via a query from the query panel.

Hi Folks,
I had an issue with WEBI .
Iam running the report with few objects at first time , all objects are displayed in the table format of report.
I saved and closed the report .
Later i opened the report and edited the report by adding new objects into query panel and runing it.
but this time i did not find the new objects in display table in report as like DeskI.
If we find the solution for this , it will be great help to me.

MaheshThe objects will be in the data tab. Objects are not automatically added to your report in Webi, they are made available in the data panel, and you can choose which objects to add.

ThanassisTurns out that tthis was due to a problem with the database listener, some intermittent problem maybe with the firewall. I noticed the TSN error further up inthe list of error messages. I was able to run the app with the detail in either facet and appear to have no problem dragging int he structure window.

We have WebI reports build on BEX using BAPI connectivity. When we are trying to add a object in query panel in a existing report we are getting this ProcessdpCommandEx error. But error does not appear when we add at the end of the list of objects already added.
Can you calrify whether this could be some setting issue or it is a known bug?

This error occurs in case of any failure in the connectivity. It is like the data providers are not getting processed.
You have mentioned that the issue does not come with newly created reports
Are you creating new reports on migrated universe or a newly created universe?
If issue only comes with migrated universe, please check if the connection has been migrated properly and required middleware and database connectors are in place.
If connections are in place, try importing and exporting the universe once and check.
In case, new report works fine with migrated universe, then you can simply try to re-point the universe by editing the query and can run it again and check.

VijenderIf you already have the universe exported to server then create new connection in crystal and select universe and connect to server and select the universe from server. Once you select the universe it popsup query panel, here you can drag what all the fields that you want to display in crystal and also you can add filters in the query panel. Once you create the query add that query to crystal and run the report.

Business Objects 6.5 SP2 Query Panel hidden and can not maximize BO Frozen
Hi,
I am using BO 6.5 SP2 and have had this problem once before and a colleague had it also. But time no one could fix it without a full format. Uninstall doesn't not work.
I believe it happens when you run a report then return to the Query Panel to edit it then click the "restore Down" button (the one in between _ (minimize) and X (close). I can see the page using alt tab but i can't restore it at all. When i open a new report i get a blank white screen with every button (file, edit etc) disabled as the active window on top of what i am seeing is the Query Panel but it's hidden off screen.
This really ban as i can use BO until it fixed but i really don't want to have to format my PC as it take days to get every think bank and working.

Do you get any error message?
Normally, when there is no data to return, you should get the message "No data to fetch".
Please perform the following test:
- Place the object <Field 1> in the Results Objects and click on Run. Do not put anything in Conditions.
What do you get?
Please check/provide the following details:
- Do you have this issue with any object/universe or it's a specific one?
- make sure you set the defined and assigned the connection to the universe in Designer
Can you test with our demo universe and see if you get the same behaviour?

Cannot drag or move object into mainstoryboard in Xcode 6
Today when I was using Xcode 6, I found that I cannot drag or move any object into my mainstory board. Also, if I click label, there will be a label stick to the center left and I cannot move it. I don't know why, Please help me!

Xcelsius 2008: Loading objects into Panel Sets
I have Xcelsius 2008 Version 5.0.0.99 that came with Crystal Reports 2008 Engage. The panel set object listed in the "Other" category is not working at all for me. When I load a swf object into it, it shows up in the workspace, but in preview it becomes stuck in the loading phase and never comes up. Also, jpegs appear in the workspace, but in preview mode they have a permenant loading bar in front of the picture. This preview behavior is the same when I export the file and try to open it elsewhere. The Panel set object itself seems to be working. It maximizes and restores itself correctly, but the objects in the panels never load. Maybe the files I'm trying to load are too large? I'm not sure what to do populate the panel set.

WilliamAre your images in JPEG format? The Panel Set component only supports JPEGs and SWF files.

I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here, here, here, here, here and here are a few you can start with and here are some tutorial videos. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.

Mac: can I drag and drop files from Finder into Files panel
I am relatively new to Mac so forgive me if this is obvious.
I just switched from Windows to Mac and now something I used to
know how to do in Windows I can't figure out how to do on Mac. In
Windows I used to open an Explorer window over Dreamweaver, select
some files, and drap and drop them into the Files panel in
Dreamweaver, and they would be sucked in.
Now on the Mac whenever I select the Finder window to select
files to drag and drop, the Dreamweaver panels disappear

when I'm ready to drag and drop there's no Dreamweaver to drop
into. I see that if I put focus on Dreamweaver, then Finder won't
disappear, and I can click on Finder to begin a drag without
Dreamweaver disappearing but then it is unresponsive to a drop.
In short, I can't seem to drag and drop files from Finder
into Dreamweaver on the Mac. Am I missing something? I'm using
Dreamweaver CS3 on Leopard if that makes any difference.

JanI don't believe you can do this on the Mac platform. The only
other thing you could try is to use Spaces and have the Finder open
in one Space and then drag it over to Dreamweaver in another space.
Outside of that I can't think of how this would work. -
Question about casting objects into Number
This might sound a bit silly, but i have a function that
casts an Object into a Number and then checks if it is NaN to
ensure that it is indeed a number, it returns true if it is a valid
number or false if it isn't a number
Now i have a TextInput and when i type for example "HELLO"
and call the function it returns false (since that is not a
number), if i type 23 it returns true (it is a number), if i type
"20a" it returns false. Everything works fine except for one
combination, if i type any number and the letter "e", for example
2e, 9E, 5e, etc, it returns true, which means this is a valid
Number, why is this?I thought it might be that, but for my bussiness logic, 2e is
not a valid number.......will i need to parse the string and
validate it? -
Problems with Query Panel with Table
Hi. I'm having a problems with this component in runtime. I'm using JDev 11.1.1.1 with ADFBC.
The query uses three optional parameters. When i put a value for the first and leave other blank and execute query, following error is produced:

Unable to view adf query panel in jsf page
hi i cannot view the Query > ADF Query Panel when i click the query button to load the page but i can see the page in design. i can only see the search with drop down arrow but cannot see other part of ADF Query Panel . i did this by 9.Expand the EmpDetails1 data control and expand the Named Criteria node below it. Select All Queriable Attributes and drag it into the new query.jsf page. Create it as a Query > ADF Query Panel.

Changing Date Format in query panel default calender
Hi All,
when I drag the date into the Query Filter Panel in Webi and use the between operator (or any operator) the format of the date shows up as DD/MM/YYYY as default . But we want the format should show up as DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MM:SS
As far as we know, there is no preference setting available in WebI. Could you please guide us how can we change the format?

Are you using a date object or a string object for date.
If you are using a date object then you would have the option of calendar selection when using between where you would be able to see your desired format.
I think if this does not resolve ur issue then either by changing regional settings or by changing the User setting (i.e. if you are using a single signon for ur Database (maybe SAP system) and ur BO WebI reports then the user id settings would directly apply here and you should be able to acheive mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss format.)
