Compression with HTTP Remote Server

We are using the remote capabilities and are transferring objects that
have large amounts of data - is it possible to use compression if we are
using the HTTP Remote Server? Since this is fairly important as
performance is a critical issue for us, I'm willing to do some work to get
it working. If not, are there plans to include compression support?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Charles

Charles-
We do plan on including options for compression and encryptions in the
future, but for the time being, you would have to implement something on
your own. The transport for the remote PM is pluggable interface. See:
http://docs.solarmetric.com/manual.html#ref_guide_remotepm_server
Basically, you would implement com.solarmetric.remote.Transport (see
http://docs.solarmetric.com/javadoc/com/solarmetric/remote/Transport.html),
or subclass one of the existing ones.

    Yes Martina,
It has been done through ESM
I cannot test using testexchangeconnectivity.com since I cannot put the 2010 one into production, I will get into trouble if I change the DNS record to the new mail server!
Yes, EAS works perfectly fine with 2010 mailboxes.
    OK.
It might be that it's not possible to run Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity against a mailbox stored in Exchange 2003.
Installing KB937031 and enabling Windows Authentication is really all that needs to be done in EX03, in order for Exchange 2010 to proxy the EAS requests.

To combat the issue, enable an HLB port on your FE servers (or any other pool you are using HLB on) and configure the health checks for the load balancer to use that port instead of the port used for TLS traffic.
Start by configuring the pool in Topology Builder, right click the pool, and choose Edit Properties>General.  Place a check in the “Enable Hardware Load Balancer monitoring port” and specify a port.

  • TREX not working for e-recruiting with HTTP content server

We have a separate e-recruiting instance where we have only e-recruiting functionality installed. In this system we are using Storate type as "http content server instead of standard setting "SAP system database" for HR_KW content repository via transaction code "OAC0"
    Following are the details
    Document Area: HR_KW
Storage type : HTTP Content Server
Version no. 0046 Content Server version 4.6
    HTTP server vd24cs02.sce.com
Port Number 8080 SSL Port Number
    HTTP Script archive
    Phys. path /usr/sap/N09/SYS/global/
    Points to be noted:
    1) TREX Search functionality for Job postings etc is not
working with this setting, however if we use HR_KW_CONT (storage type=03 SAP System database) , above mentioned functionalities work. We observed that xml files required for TREX search are also not getting created when we change the settings.
    2) We observed that when we change the storage type the indexing job is successful but application log shows some failures in reading/modifying xml files
Please let me know what are the settings/ procedure to use a different storage type instead of standard setting delivered with the product. Anything related to the setting for above requirement

  • Enbaling SSL with my remote server

    Hi All,
I have successfully configured one-way SSL with my normal web application on weblogic server. I am now working on creating a webservice to query with a database server. I would like to know what is the best way to establish SSL between my web service and the remote databaserver.
    Environment:
Creating a composite application(SOA) using JDeveloper. Only one of the webservice is querying with the database. This communication needs to be secure, so need to establish SSL.

Copy the services-config.xml (and friends) to your local project.
The compiler switch does not support URLs.

  • Synchronizing  the Adobe Air application  with the remote server daily

I am building a desktop application which is built in Adobe

server daily at a particular time on a day and check for updates
and download them, irrespective of whether the application window

I know how to acheive this, if the application window is
active(window is open) by setting a Timer function , but the
applcation runs into problems if the window is closed and cannot be
connected to server to check for updates.
Can I make the code work(timer function) even when the window
is closed in the background process?
Please help me out in acheiving this, I will be very
    grateful....

  • Airport Express connectivity with a remote server

I have gone to our ISP already with this question, but they cannot assist me. I am hoping someone here will be able to assist me in solving this problem. My boss wishes to connect to our server at our company from his home using an Airport Express. The company's server is housed on our work site and connected to an internal network. This network is in turn connected to our ISP via a DSL modem. We opened the ports needed in order to connect with the server in house and redirected incoming traffic to the server's internal ip address. We had our boss test connecting to the server from his home. He could not do so. We were asked to have him try connecting directly to his DSL (also from the same ISP as what our company has). He will be doing that this evening. However, this does not help the fact that this diminishes the whole idea of him having wireless capability in his home or when he is traveling. We had our ISP test accessing our server remotely using Telnet, and it was successful. They were connected directly, however, not using a wireless network.
Is there something that we are missing here involving some sort of setting? Or is this something I need our ISP to dig into further? Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions. Thank you.

  • Https serverfarm with http sorry server

    Hello all,
I am having difficulty configuring a sorry server for an existing https serverfarm.  The sorry (backup) server is failing all connections and I think it's because I can not determine a way to differentiate ssl connections for the production serverfarm and non-ssl connections for the sorry server.  Here is the load balance policy:
      policy-map type loadbalance http first-match WWW-HTTPS-LBP
      class class-default
        serverfarm WWW-HTTPS backup WWW-OUTAGE
        action https-rewrite
        ssl-proxy client CLIENT-SSL-PROXY
The WWW-HTTPS serverfarm is comprised of HTTPS real servers, hence the necessity of the ssl-proxy client; however, when the WWW-HTTPS serverfarm is offline, the ssl-proxy can't connect to the WWW-OUTAGE serverfarm as the real server in that farm is HTTP only.
Has anyone run into this scenario before?

The ssl-proxy client forces the connection on the backend (to the real server to be https).
You should instead create a redirect serverfarm and use it to redirect the user to an http vserver where you can use your http serverfarm without the ssl-proxy client.
    Gilles.

  • Need help with HTTPS Client/Server

Hi i really dont know much about this topic and i was wondering if any 1 knows where to find a good example program to set up a
HTTPS Server/Client or at least how to implemnt a HTTPS Client.
    thanks in advance

URL.openConnection works fine as a client. You don't have to do anything other than specify the protocol as https.
I don't know what you are looking for in terms of server. Are you trying to write your own server? Which part do you not know? The HTTP part or the S part?

  • Problem Synchronizing a Master Style Sheet on a Local Server to a Remote Server

I am using CSS5.5.  I have a large web site with over 300 pages so I use a master style sheet to store my css styles.  On my local site, I have added a style titled "ColorBlueNavyLite099" to color some text on a page.  The text is on the web page at this address
    http://www.dazzlingplaces.com/Seattle/SeattleAttractionsBlog/SeattleAttractionsBlogMasterP age.html
If you look at the code for line 204, I used this new class style at the beginning of the line of code.  The style works on my local site and the text below the first image on the page is colored BlueNavy099.
When I synchronize with my remote server, I put the local versions of my master style sheet and the file for the web page you see above to my remote site.
After I synchronize, the style works on my local site but it does not work on the remote site. The color below the first image remains black on my published page.
Any suggestions of what I can do to have the remote site correctly use the style that I defined on a master style sheet?

Seems to be working OK here. I see blue text.
Have you tried clearing the browser cache to ensure you're viewing the page with the current stylesheet?

Hii folks, I have an issue with Exchange 2010 outbound mails.
Mails of some domains stuck in  the queue with error "remote server response was not rfc conformant"
    Appreciate your responds.

    Hi,
According to your description, This issue is related to one of your clients. And I’d like to confirm if emails from the problematic user are stuck in the queue and other emails are delivered successfully.
If yes, I’d like to also confirm the version of the problematic user. Is it Exchange account? External user or internal user? Does it belong to a distribution group?
Additionally, I recommend to check the SMTP protocol log:

  • Connecting to remote server slows down computer

We've been connecting to a remote server for years, and only recently have this problem:
When connected to a remote server, the entire system runs sluggish. This only happens with one remote server -- other connections don't cause this problem. The system is slow even if we are not reading or writing -- just the connection seems to cause the slowdown.
    What could be causing this?

You need to enable WinRM on your system. Open powershell on the system you want to connect to remotely and enable it by typing:
    C:>enable-psremoting -force
WinRM already is set up to receive requests on this machine.
WinRM has been updated for remote management.
Created a WinRM listener on HTTP://* to accept WS-Man requests to any IP on this machine.
This will configure WinRM for you. Check out this technet powershell training session.

  • Since I switched to Dreamweaver CC I cannot upload my new or updated pages onto my remote server

My operating system is Windows 8.1 and I work within Adobe Cloud withe Dreamweaver CC.
Once the connection with my remote server is established and tested and the website's files: local and remote are visible on my screen I try to upload an updated page. At this moment the new folder is automatically created on the remote server with the same name as was specified and used for a whole web site and the updated page with its related files uploads into this folder and do not show on any browser after uploading is finished.
I can see that my remote web site has only one subfolder (under the FTP number defining remote server):
    /ftp439......-.
         files
while my local web site has two subfolders (generated automatically: when I open it)
    Site-Szaser-1 (L:L\Webs)
         Szaser-1
              files
I've tried also get the files from remote and they download and are stored separfately within my local site. None is replaced in either way.
My web site is online for already many years and I' ve never before had this kind og problems.
    Please help!

I took your advice & called Earthlink, our web host.   They wanted to check my FTP settings but just like when they changed their system a month ago,  I could access the 'home page' for changing the FTP settings but I couldn't click on anything.  When this happened a month ago, the web host rep
'took over' my computer & changed the FTP settings but after about 10 tries the web host rep I was speaking to this time failed to make the necessary connection so he could make the changes by taking over my computer.  Then yelled at me saying I shouldn't rely on them, I should figure it out myself. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he hung up on me.  So I don't think I'll get anywhere by contacting them again.
