Accessing a servlet thru Proxy server

I have a servlet and It has to be accessed by a Client Application. The Cleint cannot directly access this servlet. He has to come thru a proxyServer.
Client application is opening a URL Connection to my Servlet by using the Proxy parameter in the URL.openConnection(Proxy).
It fails "Authorization failure giving error 407"
How do I authorize the proxyServer to connect to my Servlet?
I tried putting an Authenticator class to return the userId and Password and installed the authenticator before opening the urlConnection.
It doesn't call the Authenticator's getPasswordAuthentication() method at all.
Any ideas on How to make an authenticated connection thru a ProxyServer.

I have to make a video stream system. And I found that there are a lot of user is behind the firewall or proxy server, how should i do to make the udp streaming media pass thru the firewall or proxy????
does the https tunnel help?

Java Applet to Access ASP Info in Proxy server Environment

I Have a Java Applet on a Web server outside and when I access the
applet in my corporate office which has a ProxyServer I get "UnKnownHost Exception".
I did used the "System.getProperties" methods giving the Proxy information and can pass through the Proxy Server.But that is not what I want,The Applet should get through
the Proxy server and get the response from the ASP without using the "System.getProperties".
IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET THE INFO. OF PROXY SERVER FROM THE CLIENT MACHINE ON WHICH THE APPLET RESIDES(PROXY HOSTNAME:, PROXY PORT)OR FROM THE BROWSER (IE/NETSCAPE)CAUSE THEY STORE THE PROXY INFO INTERNALLY--WHERE??? AND HOW DO I GET THAT?

If you are using the Microsoft VM, and your applet is signed, you can use MS security to query the registry for the proxy server info.

When you run the application use:
java -Dhttp.proxyHost={ip} -Dhttp.proxyPort={port} {app}
where ip is the ip address of your proxy
port is the port the proxy uses
app is the app you are running.

Ftp thru a proxy server

I've a PC and my Mac g4/466 with system 10.4.
With the PC i can connect to the ftp thru proxy server without problem, the PC has a option called HTTP/1.1. With this one selectiones all is gong ok, but if I disable this, net ftp doesn't connect.
I try to connect via the Mac, and I can't, impossible, I tried with all ftp programs knowed and more! I look for the HTTP/1.1 option, but in the Mac I can't find it. So my Mac don'¡t connect to the ftp.
Someone can help me??? I don't know what to do.

OK, turn off the Mac's Firewall for a test, then lets try ftp via Terminal to see if we get more clues/info...

HELP URGENT : accessing servlets thru localhost

I am trying to access a servlet on iplanet from another servlet through forms .
when i specifically give the machine name and point the form to

where avenger is my local machine it works fine and gets redirected .
But when i try to do the same thing using localhost its not working..
I gave

Can someone pls help me figure where i am going wrong.???

But one more question though.... I am trying to access the first servlet from the browser by typing https://localhost:8443/servlet/LoopQualPage...This then gets redirected to another servlet thru forms i discussed earlier...It doesnt work .
But when when i try to say specifically https://avenger/servlet/LoopQualPage it works fine....
Any clue how i can access the first one the same way i was able access the second one thru forms without actually typing the machine name???????

I connect to internet thru a proxy server (port: 8080) but I'm unable to connect to iStore or any most of the other applications. I would like to know what is the port no. thru which these apps operate? Pls help me connect...

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

I have just a simple WCF service and which is protected by azure ACS .I am getting this error while trying to invoke the service from a client.The WCF is hosted as a simple azure website.

There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.
This is my web.config for the service and I am guessing there is something wrong with it .It is working just fine on local IIS so I am not sure what exactly is causing the issue.Can someone please have a look and see if they can find something or point me to
a direction.

I am getting "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error 0x80092013. I have just downloaded and installed current version of iTunes, and have the 2013 Norton IS. My proxy server is letting me got to iTunes, but cannot login.

I have a proxy server and the server is allowing me to go to iTunes. But I get a message "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error code ox80092013. I cannot find that code in the troubleshooting section. I have just installed a new PC HP5750, with Norton IS 2013. I installed the current version of iTunes directly from the iTunes site. My proxy server is American Family Online web browsing filter. I contacted them and they said there should not be a problem with their server. I have had an account previously, but has been inactive for several months. I even tried to create a new account, but still got the same error code.
Someone please help with this. I have accompaniment tracks on iTunes that I need for music ministry.

Sun access manager 7.1 + sun web proxy server 4

Hi all,
we have installed policy agent 2.2 on the web proxy server 4.0.5. and AM is installed on another machine with ver 7.1.
We are trying to prtectect an java application.
ex:// http://stonycarter.com:9080/med
when we hit this url we get redirected to AM for login and after login we get page not found error and it would never take us to the application page.
Pls, let us know how to configure the application. ie, how to achive above task.

In iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 on Win2000, how do I turn on authentication? I want to force users to enter an id and pw when they go thru the proxy to websites out on the net. Thanks

You'll need to point to some user database, either the local db on Proxy or an ldap server. The ldap server is the best choice as the local db just stores users in a flat file and becomes unreliable after 1000 entries.
To enable authentication, manage the proxy server instance and navigate to Restrict Access.
From there, turn on access control, and click on the Permissions button. This will open up a new window to allow you to setup your access control rules and restrictions. When you're done, click on Done, apply your changes and restart the proxy server and you should be on your way.

hello, i've tried it with a fresh copy of a catalan firefox & it's showing up as expected for me...
please try if it's the same when you launch firefox in safemode once (then it might be an issue with an extension hiding this setting) or else try a reset of firefox.

Firefox spam access to website which blocked by Proxy Server

We using Blucoat Proxy Server, I found that when users access some website which may access external content server, and blocked by proxy server by default. Then proxy server logged denied these requests, but Firefox still keep looping send the requests until the proxy server CPU 99% and hang.
But IE will error to prevent this happening, and one can help?
