Accessing Adlink PCI 7250 card in Labwindows 8.0

How to access Adlink PCI 7250 card in Labwindows 8.0? Which driver need to be used? Any exaple can be shared?

Hello,
I'm sending to you a link with an example of analog trigger through software. Once the files on the link are not for your LabVIEW version I'm attaching here the same VIs for the version 8.0 of LabVIEW.

  • Accessing a PCI Card

    Hello everyone,
I have a PCI DAQ Card and I don't have its PID or VID "It is a General Purpose Card" so Is it possible to access it using LabVIEW? and if i have a handy-made PCI card is it possible to access it using LabVIEW?
could you please help me with that?
    Thanks in advance
    Ahmed

Under modern OSes hardware needs to be accessed using device drivers.
There are some workarounds such as using VISA register level access, where VISA itself is the device driver, but that would require you to know the VID and PID of the device, as well as a very detailed register level description of the hardware. And then you have to do a lot of tedious register level accesses using the VISA register access APIs. But if you can't even provide the VID and PID of a hardware it is VERY unlikely that you have the register description available from it.
So the next question is, what does general purpose mean here. It could be that it is general enough that it works with some standard OS drivers out of the box. So what is your device actually?

  • How to get counter values from pci 6221 card?

    Hii
I am using PCI 6221 card .. In that i am using the ctr o .. In my application i am using Linear encoder to measure the Lift movement.. so from software how to access the counter values i.e how much mm it moves...

Measure Angular Position.vi in the LabVIEW examples will be a good starting point. Adapt it to Linear Encoder by clicking on the selector below DAQmx Create Channel.vi.
You can also create a corresponding DAQmx Global Channel (or task) in MAX and then use it in your code.
Feel free to post back if you need further help.

  • How do I determine the interrupt detection sequences for an HP 82350A PCI GPIB card?

I am trying to install an HP 82350A PCI GPIB card in CentOS 6.4. I have installed NI-VISA 5.4.
I tinkered around and found driverwizard in /usr/local/bin. It creates an ini file to control the PCI GPIB card.
I had somehow succeeded in detecting the card (PXI3::0::INSTR). My driverwizard output looks like this
    [Module]
ModuleName = "PLX PCI <-> IOBus Bridge"
    ModuleVendor = "PLX Technology, Inc."
    ModelCode = 0x9050
    ManufCode = 0x10B5
    SubsystemModelCode = 0x10B0
    SubsystemManufCode = 0x103C
    VISARegistration = Simple
As you can see, it does not have interrupt handling built into it, so I cannot access it properly.
How do I set up interrupt handling for this card? What are the specifications for the following fields?
    Interrupt Detection:
    Access Type
    Access Width
    Address Space
    Space Offset
    Compare Mask
    Write/Compare Value
    Interrupt Removal:
    Access Type
    Access Width
    Address Space
    Space Offset
    Compare Mask
    Write/Compare Value
    Interrupt Disarm:
    Access Type
    Access Width
    Address Space
    Space Offset
    Compare Mask
    Write/Compare Value
This is the first time I have tried hacking at the PCI interrupt level. At the very least, how do I find out the values for the above parameters? Or at best, straight away what are the values for those parameters?

Their IO Libraries Suite supports only Windows. Our lab probably used Windows before. This 82350A card is quite ancient. I need to use this because we also have ancient instruments that do not have Ethernet.

  • PCIe Serial Card Stopped Working in Yosemite

I have a PCIe serial card in a Mac Pro based on the 16950 that's been working fine up until Yosemite. It's been working with the built-in Apple16x50Serial.kext driver.
With Yosemite, it looks like the driver loads okay, but no serial port appears under /dev/, and no IOBSDSerialClient for the card appears in ioreg either.
This is the same device used in the older XServe's with serial ports.

Same here, although I can't even enter the shortcuts screen on my iPhone, as the Settings app crashes when I try to view the shortcuts. They are still on and work on the phone, but I can't access them to edit, etc. On the Mac, they neither show up nor work.

  • How do I configure my PCI-GPIB cards so that one is a controller and the other is a device being controlled by the first card

I have 2 PC's, both fitted with PCI-GPIB cards. One will be the system controller and the other will be a device on the GPIB bus. How do I configure both cards using LabWindows/CVI v7.0 to achieve this ? What commands are used to send and receive the data ?

    Hi Pete,
For the controller board you don't really need to do anything. By default the GPIB interface is configured as controller.
The non-controller can be configured in MAX. Right-click on the interface, uncheck the ono-controller box and change the primary address. It is usually a good idea to set these parameters programatically. Use ibpad to set the primary address and ibrsc to release system control.
For the controller you can use a device descriptor (using ibdev) or a board descriptor (ibfind).
You can only open a reference to the non-controller board using ibfind (ibfind("gpib0"), for example). This will open a board reference. You cannot use a device reference because that implies that the board is capable of addressing the bus. On
    ly the system controller can.
Here are some links I found on the web on this subject:

Tutorial: Programmatic File Transfers over the GPIB
Example: Using a C Program as a GPIB Non-Controller with LabVIEW as the GPIB Controller

  • External antenna on mini PCI WiFi card

    Hello,
The stock mini PCI WiFi card on the MEGA 865 has terrible range.  I can not connect to an access point beyond 20 feet.  Can an external antenna be added to the card?  Does someone sell a mini PCI WiFi with external antenna?  The new MEGA 865 PRO has an external antenna!!!!!  Where can I buy this 865 PRO WiFi card and antenna?  My PCI slot is filled and USB keys seem to have about the same range.
In another computer I have a D Link PCI card 802.11 a/b/g with external antenna with excellent signal at 100 feet.
    Thanks for your help!

    ahh ha! success...
I got new Intel drivers for my wireless Mini-PCI card from the Intel site itself.
It now is very stable...transferred more than 5gig at once without dropouts
Only problem is that the speed is sacrificed a bit...i was getting slightly higher transfer rates with the original drivers(which came with the card).. now im getting max 2MByte/s(16Mbits/s) with these new drivers....also Windows can see the wireless network connection as "Status:Excellent"..so im pleased with the stability
Can any1 explain how(even when 2 wireless-G devices are sitting next to each other) they can never reach 54MBit/s ??? So then 108MB/s must be an absolute load of crap ..and not even reach 54MBit/s properly
I should be getting around 54MBit/s ..after all why say its 54MBit/s when its not ....grrrr

  • Mic issue: SB X-FI Extreme 7.1 PCI-express card. New driver/software to blame?

NMic issue: SB X-FI Extreme 7. PCI-express card. New driver/software to blame? My mic has worked perfectly up untill the new driver update. It is now version .04.000 released 30 June 09'. That was yesterday as of this post. It was a complete reinstall of the driver and software and a new updater. When I finished all of the updates my mic no longer worked. Keep in mind that I have 2 mics and neither of them work. With the old driver and software I was able to access the Creative Audio Control Panel and I would find a tab called "Jacks". In that tab I could select "line in" or "microphone". I would select microphone and all would work well. Now I have a completely dumbed down Creative Audio Control Panel interface with no option that is similar. I have clean wiped and reinstalled the driver and sofware updates 3 times now with the same effect. Can anyone help please? I really don't want to wait -3 weeks for Creative support to get back to me. The only thing worse than Creative support is UBISoft support!

  • Vi-based server for Adlink PCI-6208V

I wrote vi-based server for Adlink PCI-6208V and used functions to communicate with this card. I tested it with interactive server tester. Everything was good. I also wrote client program to manage this card. The problem is that: when I start tag-engine, server doesn't start and such mistake as "...VI contains inconsistent functions" is shown. What should I do?

    1) I am using LabView 6.1 and DSC 6.1
    2) I created vi-based server such as in examples for DSC 6.1. The same thing witn the client.
    3) There was no error number with error (look at the picture in the attached file).
    4) Tag-engine works normally when I don't use the functions to communicate with the card.
I attached very simple version client and server.

  • Connecting a HP3497A with a NI PCI GPIB card.

Hello, I would like to be able to connect the above mentioned HP product with a NI PCI GPIB card. As I have no prior experience with this equipment, I wanted to know what basic important steps I would have to take to achieve this?

    Mbugua,
On the hardware end you'll need a GPIB cable to connect the card with your instrument. On the software side, you'll need the NI-488.2 driver. Please follow this link to download the proper driver version for your OS. I highly recommend that you use LabVIEW 7.0 to communicate with the instrument. If you prefer text-based programming LabWindows/CVI 7.0 would be a great choice. You can check out www.ni.com/idnet to download a library of functions to even further ease communication with t
he HP3497A (currently there is a download designed for CVI).
There are a great deal of manuals available online. Please navigate to www.ni.com and choose "support" to search through them as well as our Knowledge Base.
Please follow the following procedure of installation:
    1) Install LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI (or both)
    2) Install NI-488.2 (hardware driver for the PCI-GPIB)
    3) Insert the PCI-GPIB into your computer

  • Connecting Parker's AR-08AE driver to PCI 7350 card

I have an Aries AR-08AE servo driver (by Parker) to drive a brushless servo motor (also by Parker).  I have been unsuccessful at connecting the motor to the PCI 7350 card through a 68-pin screw terminal.  I cannot get the motor to respond when i use the "interactive" section of MAX.

    Hi John,
I don't have access to your drive or motor so I couldn't test this configuration, but it should work something like this to drive your servo motor.  Make sure you double check our Manual for the 7350 Controller against the manual for the drive.
    7350 Controller   Drive
    Pin 6                   Pin 1
    Pin 3                   Pin 21
    Pin 32                 Pin 14
    Pin 31                 Pin 15
    Encoders:
    Pin 36               Pin 3
    Pin 3                 Pin 4
    Pin 37               Pin 5
    Pin 3                 Pin 6
    Pin 38               Pin 7
    Pin 3                 Pin 8
That should be all you need to get it to work.  Also make sure you check the Inhibit polarity from MAX to be sure Inhibt is not enabled when you are trying to do a move.

  • Another PCI video card issue

    Hello,
I bought my daughter this Lenovo 3000 h210 from Tigerdirect.com
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4167690&CatId=2630
She has an nVidia gForce 8450 PCI card she wants to put in the 1 vacant PCI slot. When she does that, the machine will not even boot up. If she takes the card back out, it boots up fine.
The PCI card does not require a seperate power connection, and she replaced the OEM power supply with a 550w one.
I keep reading about possibly having to go into the BIOS and disable the onboard video. I don't have direct access to that computer since she lives in another state, but she is telling me that there are only 2 choices, PCI-PEG and PEG-PCI. She says she had tried both settings and it still will not boot with the PCI graphics card installed.
Any idea how to fix this?

I was unable to find an answer, but was able to get the machine up and running. They took the PCI card back and swapped it for a PCI Express card. They plugged that one in and it worked immediately. So, I am guessing that this particular machine will not work with a PCI video card.
    I hope this helps someone.

  • Multiple Application Access on PCI-6503

I have two applications which would like to use a PCI-6503 card through the
NI-DAQ API. One of these applications runs as an NT service, the other as a
    desktop application.
If the service application begins using the card first, the desktop
application fails miserably. If the desktop application accesses the card
first, everything works fine. I have experienced similar problems sharing
memory between service and desktop applications and had to change the
service application so it would use an empty DACL in the security descriptor
when it allocated the shared memory. Does the NI-DAQ software have a
    similar problem?
    Thanks,
    Neal Stublen

Another guess, but information that might help.
I'm assuming the service starts as the local system account. Some driver
inherits credentials from the service running as the local system
account. These credentials are inadequate for the interactive user. But
when the interactive user launches the driver, the credentials are
adequate for the local system account.
My guess is that if you change the configuration of the service to start
w/ specific user credentials, then the problem disappears. Goto Control
Panel | Services | {service name} | Startup and change the user from
local system account to the interactive user. Don't check interact w/
desktop, rather change to a specific user and specify the user that will
    log on to the system.

  • Compatibility issue between MSI MS-6575E and a Linksys PCI wireless card

    Hi all,
I have a Compaq Pavilion a249.pt with a MSI MS-6575E motherboard. I bought a Linksys PCI wireless card to access to network.
The problem is when I plug in the PCI card the system don't boot. It remains in the HP logo and doesn't jump to system start.
I plug the card in another computer and I get no problems...
Do you have any idea about what can be wrong?
    Yhanks,
    CC

Thanks for your comments and help. The problem is solved!
Here are the steps I took:
1 - Try to find help in HP support team: they don't help me in any way!!!!
2 - Try to find help in Linksys support team: they help me isolating the problem and they didn't have any kind of error report regarding with Linksys card and MS motherboard. They told me to try the linksys card in another computer to ensure that the card was in perfect conditions. And it was.
3 - Download of MSI motherboard manual to find any clue.
4 - Search for a forum (like this!) and ask for help. You were the only with straight and usefull ideas  . Thanks!!!!!
And now the solution: After checking the BIOS parameters regarding with LAN boot (you told me to disable it), I switched the card to PCI slot 3. The boot was OK.
Again, many thanks to you all.
