Accessing data in a class when not in the class library

Hi,
I'm fairly new to labview classes and am wondering if it is possible to make public or read the value coming from a lvclass control.
If I highlight the control all the values are listed as private and I can't unbundle the class, of course once I make a vi a member of the lvclass I can unbundle the class. However there are two elements that I want o be globally available, is this possible?

You need to select your class, not the ctl.
This is the same thing as making a member vi for the class, it's just a shortcut for making a .vi that can output the private date.
( The way LabVIEW has implemented the OOP, all class attributes are private. And there are no way to make them public or protected. The only way to access the data from outside is by making a Accessor. )

Three words.
You are doomed.
Whatever you end up doing will not be serialization. It will be reverse engineering of a old (dead) format that could go all pear shaped on you when you least expect it. One of the worst problems in using a solution where you reverse engineer, try and guess hackery your way through a proprietary semi (or totally) undocumented format is that it is really impossible to test your code with any degree of certainty. Does your code actually work? Or does it only work because you haven't seen some totally unexpected (but legal for the format) format yet?
Get the producer to produce XML instead of "serialized" data. This is a much better route for you to go down.
If you decide to keep on your path then grab a DataInputStream and go somewhere else because you'll have to figure out the format of another languages serialized data on a place that isn't this site.

I am running Crystal Reports version 10 from IBM Rational 6.0.1 build 20050725_1800 XML data source. When I try to run the report under WAS 6.0.1 I get the following error:

For those who would have the same problem, here is how I could eventually fix it.
Since the Flex Test Drive is sometimes out of sync with flash builder 4, I recreated a project using other help pages on Adobe site :

I'm baffled, especially since it will usually give you the Invalid user name or password entered message. I'm not getting that. Instead the password field just jiggles back and forth. Very odd.

Does anyone know how to do this so that all my playlists are also imported and not just the music itself?

When I have done this, all I did was network the two machines and copy the contents of the iTunes folder to the other machine, and that's it.
My understanding (which may not be 100% correct) is that the one file that is absolutely necessary is iTunes Library, and that the XML file is actually a copy auto-generated from the iTunes Library, appearing in a different format only for non-iTunes apps that take advantage of the iTunes Library data.
As far as I know, if you simply have the Library (database) file and all your original music files, iTunes on that computer should operate as it did on your old computer. I believe that the Album Artwork, Genius Data, and XML files can be regenerated from the Library file. Not sure about the Extras file.

How can I partition an external hard drive with data in it? When I select the drive, the partition option is grayed out.

I am having a problem partitioning an external hard drive with data in it.
When I select the partition, everything is grayed out. I can't add a a partition for some reason. When I asked this question to other people, they told me to select my partition "io" to do it from there.
As you can see, I can't seem to partition it form there either. I ran the Verify Disk utility but the volume came out okay.
Any ideas as to what the problem would be?

Select the main hard drive entry (topmost one.) Click on the Partition tab. Shrink the existing partition by grabbing the sizing gadget in the bottom right corner and pushing up until you free up enough space for your second partition. Be sure you do not shrink to less than the space currently occupied by your files. Click on the Add[+] button to create a new partition in the free space. Click on the Apply button and wait until the partitioning is completed.

JNI generated header file does not match the class file

We have had a JNI project for many years and all has been fine. Within our libraries we have several classes that have inner enum classes.
Recently we have moved to JDK1.7. Up to now when JNI generated the methods where the signature used the inner enum class, and it was an oveloaded method, we would get something like the following as the signature:
Java_PackageName_ClassName_methodName_OuterClass_00024InnerEnum_2
And the class file result of the build would look like the following:
methodName(OuterClass$InnerEnum)
Since we have moved to JDK 1.7 the header file looks like the following:
Java_PackageName_ClassName_methodName_OuterClasss_InnerEnum_2
The class file is still the same, and because of that when we run the program we get an UnsatisfiedLinkError. I understand that this error is because the VM cannot find the implementation. So why JDK 1.7 generates a header file that does not match the class file?

I don't have 1.6 to verify but your statements about what is generated for 1.7 for the header appear correct.
The 000024 represents the '$' and for 1.7 the inner class is still named using '$'. So for example after compiling in 1.7 the inner class file is named the following...
MyClass$InnerEnum.class
So a one to one conversion should have kept the 000024 (presuming it does in fact do it that way in 1.6.)
You might want to look at the release notes for 1.7.
If you need a solution you could add a post javah step that renames the file.

The possible reason could be that class is not present in project class path.
Check the following location to make sure the project is configured with source and required libraries

Classpath is not identifing the class file

Iam developing cumtom java function event in Oracle WorkFlow. Here iam getting ClassNotFoundException. I included all class file in the jar file and the jar file added in the class path

Let's get this straight first: ClassNotFoundException is something that happens at runtime; that means you must have been able to compile your program successfully. So it is not the "java compiler not recognising the class".
What does your classpath look like exactly?
Is the class you are trying to use in a package?
Are you correctly importing the class?
Look inside the JAR files in your classpath to check if the class is really present in one of the JAR files.
If you were able to compile the code successfully but you get an error while running it, then the compiler must have been able to find the class while you were compiling it. Are you passing the same classpath to the Java runtime environment as what you are using when you were compiling your code?
And by the way, you posted this question in the forum about generics, but your question does not have anything to do with generics. Please post your questions in the appropriate forum in the future.

Unfortunately the linked crash report is empty (@ EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump) and doesn't include any data, so it is not possible to find the cause of the crash.

When I test the movie (updateSite.swf) in flash, it gives me
the error:
The class being compiled, 'CalendarView', does not match the
class that was imported,
'com.sixspices.updater.view.CalendarView'.

Here is my file structure:
sixSpices
-->updateSite
-->-->updateSite.fla
-->-->updateSite.swf
-->com
-->-->sixSpices
-->-->-->updater
-->-->-->-->view
-->-->-->-->-->Calendar.as
If I move updateSite.fla to the folder sixSpices so that
"com" is in the same folder as it, I get the same error.
The following works with no problems (no similar error):

IPhoto will not load the iPhoto library. When I select "show all windows" the library does appear but cannot open it. I am on version 8.1.2 and using Maverick.

I was able to get it fixed. I had received some responses and they had me
recreate the library I believe. It's been a while so I cant remember
exactly what I did. I have since upgraded to the latest i photo version and
have had no problems with it.

Search for shared library is impossible, as far as I know. Searches supported - are local and internet.
