Accessing ITEM_TYPE & ITEM_KEY from workflow notication/message for URL

Hi,
I have designed a Workflow process in which I am passing a URL attribute to a notification. What I want to achieve here is open up a JSP page with details of the notification from the Workflow notification screen. This can be done by clicking on the URL. But my problem here is that in order to open up the JSP for that notification, I need the ItemKey and ItemType for that particular process. Can anybody tell me as how I can retrieve the ItemKey and ItemType and pass it to the URL of the JSP?I know that the notification id can be accessed using &#NID in the message directly. Is there a similar way that I can access the ItemKey and the ItemType?
Please also mail your response to [email protected]

Hi,
You can try to do a select in WF_NOTIFICATIONS and get this information in CONTEXT column.
I know its not what you are looking for, but may be it can help you find a better solution.

  • Opening oracle form from workflow notification asks for responsibility.

    Hello All,
I am trying to open serach service request form from workflow notification.
For that I have added below.
    1) created Form type of WF attribute and attached it to message. Value of this attribute is
    CSXSRISV:REQUEST_ID=&REQUEST_ID.
    2) So the link apears in the notification but when I form session opens it brings up the responsibility selection screen, If I select Customer Support resp and click on OK, service request get queried properly.
So everthing is working fine, only issue is when oracle form opens it asks for the responsibility to select from selection screen.
How can I remove this responsibility selection screen?
Do I need to pass any parameter or something like that?

    Thanks for the reply.
I have added CSXSRISV function i.e Find Service Request to the appropriate menu which is attached to the responsibility and opened the form from newly sent notification. Still no luck. Still it is asking me for resp to choose.
Can you suggest me any other workaround?
How to see whether workflow worklist is available to customer support resp?

  • Accessing container variables from ccBPM in Message Mapping?

    Hello Friends,
I have created a ccBPM and require to send response messages to the sending system at different points as the message proceeds from one state to another. I do not want to create multiple message mapping stating different status in every message mapping. The message mapping remains the same only the status is changing. So I am thinking if I can access container elements in ccBPM at message mapping then I should be able to use only one message mapping.  Is it possible at all?
Let me know if you have other solutions. Let me know if I am not clear?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Abhishek,
Your suggestion to use Parameterized Mapping did solve my issue. I was looking something like this. Thanks.
Now I have only one Message Mapping and it is used in multiple places. Thanks a lot

  • Access to MessageSize from Mapping? (not for File Adapter)

    Dear Experts,
is there any way to access the <SAP:MessageSizeTotal> values from the SOAPHeader/Runtime part (see SXMB_MONI) ?
In case of File/FTP Sender Adapter, there is a simple possibility to use the DynamicConfiguration and the SourceFileSize attribute.
But how we can have the message size information in case of SOAP sender adapter?
Thank you in advance for the valuable replies!
    Best regards,

    Hi,
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
             Name                   Technical Name
            Variable Header        XHeaderName1
            Variable Header           XHeaderName2
            Variable Header          XHeaderName3

My hard drive crashed and I installed a new one.
Did internet recovery and upgraded to my previous OS.

Very impressive that it is that easy but trying to get my data is a pain.
Time Machine is a  backup of your computer SYSTEM,  not idealized as a data archive.
Consider other options for the future  >
Data Storage Platforms; their Drawbacks & Advantages
#1. Time Machine / Time Capsule
    Drawbacks:
    1. Time Machine is not bootable, if your internal drive fails, you cannot access files or boot from TM directly from the dead computer.
    2. Time machine is controlled by complex software, and while you can delve into the TM backup database for specific file(s) extraction, this is not ideal or desirable.
    3. Time machine can and does have the potential for many error codes in which data corruption can occur and your important backup files may not be saved correctly, at all, or even damaged. This extra link of failure in placing software between your data and its recovery is a point of risk and failure. A HD clone is not subject to these errors.
    4. Time machine mirrors your internal HD, in which cases of data corruption, this corruption can immediately spread to the backup as the two are linked. TM is perpetually connected (or often) to your computer, and corruption spread to corruption, without isolation, which TM lacks (usually), migrating errors or corruption is either automatic or extremely easy to unwittingly do.
    5. Time Machine does not keep endless copies of changed or deleted data, and you are often not notified when it deletes them; likewise you may accidently delete files off your computer and this accident is mirrored on TM.
    6. Restoring from TM is quite time intensive.
    7. TM is a backup and not a data archive, and therefore by definition a low-level security of vital/important data.
    8. TM working premise is a “black box” backup of OS, APPS, settings, and vital data that nearly 100% of users never verify until an emergency hits or their computers internal SSD or HD that is corrupt or dead and this is an extremely bad working premise on vital data.
    9. Given that data created and stored is growing exponentially, the fact that TM operates as a “store-it-all” backup nexus makes TM inherently incapable to easily backup massive amounts of data, nor is doing so a good idea.
    10. TM working premise is a backup of a users system and active working data, and NOT massive amounts of static data, yet most users never take this into consideration, making TM a high-risk locus of data “bloat”.
    11. TM like all HD-based data is subject to ferromagnetic and mechanical failure.
    12. *Level-1 security of your vital data.
    Advantages:
    1. TM is very easy to use either in automatic mode or in 1-click backups.
    2. TM is a perfect novice level simplex backup single-layer security save against internal HD failure or corruption.
    3. TM can easily provide a seamless no-gap policy of active data that is often not easily capable in HD clones or HD archives (only if the user is lazy is making data saves).
    #2. HD archives
    Drawbacks:
    1. Like all HD-based data is subject to ferromagnetic and mechanical failure.
    2. Unless the user ritually copies working active data to HD external archives, then there is a time-gap of potential missing data; as such users must be proactive in archiving data that is being worked on or recently saved or created.
    Advantages:
    1. Fills the gap left in a week or 2-week-old HD clone, as an example.
    2. Simplex no-software data storage that is isolated and autonomous from the computer (in most cases).
    3. HD archives are the best idealized storage source for storing huge and multi-terabytes of data.
    4. Best-idealized 1st platform redundancy for data protection.
    5. *Perfect primary tier and level-2 security of your vital data.
#3. HD clones (see below for full advantages / drawbacks)
    Drawbacks:
    1. HD clones can be incrementally updated to hourly or daily, however this is time consuming and HD clones are, often, a week or more old, in which case data between today and the most fresh HD clone can and would be lost (however this gap is filled by use of HD archives listed above or by a TM backup).
    2. Like all HD-based data is subject to ferromagnetic and mechanical failure.
    Advantages:
    1. HD clones are the best, quickest way to get back to 100% full operation in mere seconds.
    2. Once a HD clone is created, the creation software (Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper) is no longer needed whatsoever, and unlike TM, which requires complex software for its operational transference of data, a HD clone is its own bootable entity.
    3. HD clones are unconnected and isolated from recent corruption.
    4. HD clones allow a “portable copy” of your computer that you can likewise connect to another same Mac and have all your APPS and data at hand, which is extremely useful.
    5. Rather than, as many users do, thinking of a HD clone as a “complimentary backup” to the use of TM, a HD clone is superior to TM both in ease of returning to 100% quickly, and its autonomous nature; while each has its place, TM can and does fill the gap in, say, a 2 week old clone. As an analogy, the HD clone itself is the brick wall of protection, whereas TM can be thought of as the mortar, which will fill any cracks in data on a week, 2-week, or 1-month old HD clone.
    6. Best-idealized 2nd platform redundancy for data protection, and 1st level for system restore of your computers internal HD. (Time machine being 2nd level for system restore of the computer’s internal HD).
    7. *Level-2 security of your vital data.
    #4. Online archives
    Drawbacks:
    1. Subject to server failure or due to non-payment of your hosting account, it can be suspended.
    2. Subject, due to lack of security on your part, to being attacked and hacked/erased.
    Advantages:
    1. In case of house fire, etc. your data is safe.
    2. In travels, and propagating files to friends and likewise, a mere link by email is all that is needed and no large media needs to be sent across the net.
    3. Online archives are the perfect and best-idealized 3rd platform redundancy for data protection.
    4. Supremely useful in data isolation from backups and local archives in being online and offsite for long-distance security in isolation.
    5. *Level-1.5 security of your vital data.
    #5. DVD professional archival media
    Drawbacks:
    1. DVD single-layer disks are limited to 4.7Gigabytes of data.
    2. DVD media are, given rough handling, prone to scratches and light-degradation if not stored correctly.
    Advantages:
    1. Archival DVD professional blank media is rated for in excess of 100+ years.
    2. DVD is not subject to mechanical breakdown.
    3. DVD archival media is not subject to ferromagnetic degradation.
    4. DVD archival media correctly sleeved and stored is currently a supreme storage method of archiving vital data.
    5. DVD media is once written and therefore free of data corruption if the write is correct.
    6. DVD media is the perfect ideal for “freezing” and isolating old copies of data for reference in case newer generations of data become corrupted and an older copy is needed to revert to.
    7. Best-idealized 4th platform redundancy for data protection.
    8. *Level-3 (highest) security of your vital data.
[*Level-4 data security under development as once-written metallic plates and synthetic sapphire and likewise ultra-long-term data storage]

  • Creating an xml file from a playlist - message for iTunes staff

When I created an xml file from a playlist I noticed that in the xml file the track name was merged with the artist name in this manner "I want you - Bob Dylan".
That was hardly a problem as I could easily correct this in the FileMaker Pro environment.
But subsequently I found out, that within iTunes the track name was similarly changed to the same format. Apparently this happened when iTunes created the xml file and inadvertently also changed the track name within iTunes.
It can easily be corrected by entering File/Info, but I had over 10.000 songs in that list and it will take a lot of time. I have to do this, as I created earlier for each song a file path in FileMaker Pro, which are unrecognizable now.
Could you please correct the xml file creating procedure?

I must confess that I can't reproduce this result myself anymore.
I created the xml file in iTunes via File/Library/Export Playlist/xml structure (I translate the Dutch terms loosely) and subsequently I imported the xml file into a Filemaker Pro via File/Import/xml.
The xsl style sheet looks ok.
It looks like a freak of nature.
Still I have the evidence in my iTunes playlist, where I have another 9000 clicks to go to repair the damage.
Let's forget about it, until it happens again.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Send Mail from workflow with a Long URL

    Hello,
My problem is that when an email gets generated from the workflow in my application, the generated url is quite long. As a result the link is not completely underlined in the email. I know there are limitations discussed in SAP note 363986. But does anybody know a workaround using aliases for the URL? and an example for the same would be great.
    Regards,
    Manoj.

    Hello!
I had the same requirements a while ago and even sent OSS note because customer insisted - even though I informed about the known restrictions.
Well, SAP replied back that the restrictions are still valid and we tried to use alias and splitting email to multiple container elements but still did not work!
Using send mail step will simply not work with long URL's!
But there is a work around if the requirement is business critical - you can create a smartform that has the email text and then pass the URL to the smartform. Smartforms can handle the long URL. You can then trigger a method in your workflow that will send the smartform as email. Hope that gives you an idea!

  • Can't Access Aperture Photos from Other Applications

I am using the trial version of Aperture. I can't access the photos in Aperture from Photoshop, Word or any other application (except Mail). I can see the icon for Aperture and the words "Aperture 3 Trial Library" but it is grayed out. Is there a setting or what? I have Snow Leopard and Mac OS X 10.6.5.

I guess one thing that bothers me about all my pictures being "bundled" in iPhoto or Aperture is that they don't show up in the Finder.
This is a real non-issue. A Package is simply a folder that looks like a file. Want to look inside? Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library or the Aperture Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
See? There are all your files, in folders.
Why are they Packaged? Because if you move, rename, or alter them then you will corrupt your Library. So it's a simple protection for the structure of the Library. That's all. No big secret.
But there are other things you need to consider too.
Supposing you want to attach a file to an Email in Aperture. Presumably you want to send the edited file of your photo. So, how do you do that +when there is no edited file+? Aperture doesn't actually edit the file at all it simply records the decisions you have taken and shows them to live when you view the pic. All your edits are "virtual". So, the fact that your original files are stored out the the package will be no help to you at all.
iPhoto is pretty much the same - though the details are different.
So, you have to use the applications when you want to access the files for whatever reason - editing, printing, sharing, whatever. That's the point of these apps. They are your Photo Manager, what AddressBook is to your Contacts, iTunes is to your Music and so on.
Here's a macro I use for when these questions come up on the iPhoto Forum. Most - if not all - of these will also work for Aperture:
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*_(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)_*
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto or Aperture
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto or Aperture not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
*File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. This produces, producing a copy.

  • Can't Access iPhoto Library From Mail, Internet

When i go to upload a picture on a website like Facebook I'm unable to access my iphoto library. The menus for the finder in safari will slither down and I'll navigate to my photos but when i get to the iphoto icon it looks faded and will not respond to being clicked on. Is there anyway to bypass this problem. THANKS!

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • How to set up reverse proxy to allow user access portal site from internet

    Hi all,
I have installed 10g(10.1.2.0.2) AS on same machine(single IP for both mid and infra with different users respectively). there is a DMZ on which windows IIS is working through which we need to redirect the request to application server such that users access portal page from internet (within intranet all URLs are working fine). I have went through technet documentation where i found 3 ways : through this link
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13998/variants.htm
Section 9.2.1.1, "Configuring OracleAS Web Cache as a Reverse Proxy"
Section 9.2.1.2, "Configuring the Oracle HTTP Server as a Reverse Proxy"
Section 9.2.1.3, "Configuring Internet Information Services as a Reverse Proxy"
I am confused to which option to use. Also i went through the metalink document 270160.1
Please help me which option to choose to do this.
    Thanks.

    Hi Hozy,
May be it's too late, I am thinking to go in the same route for our sap portal access to external customers. Please can you share your experience , like what are the challenges have you faced? what is the complexity? what are all the resources we need to configure this?
    I appreciate your feedback.

  • Error 0x80070002 when Task Apply OS has "Access content directly from the distribution point" checked

When I check "Access content directly from the distribution point" for the "Apply Operating System" task in my OSD Task Sequence, I get the failed error 0x80070002 at the step when running the sequence from WinPE.
If I uncheck it, I don't get that error or have any problems.
I've ensured that in the properties of my OS Image in the Data Access that "Copy the content in this package to a package share on distribution points" is checked, and that I Updated DPs.
Am I missing any other settings?
The reason I'm trying to do this is because the "Download" speed of the WIM is incredibly slow. I already installed a hotfix (KB2905002) that fixed this for my Dell systems, but it's not speeding it up for another computer model I'm imaging in
the same way. The Dell computers, after I installed the server hotfix, will downloading the .wim file at 1% per second. However the HP thin clients I'm imaging download at about 1% every 15 seconds, and I'm not sure if that's due to their hardware or what.

    Hi,
The error means file not found. So you need to check the smsts.log to see which DP it is accessing, then go to that DP to check the Shared Folder smspkg to make sure the file is there.
For the download performance issue, there are various reasons. You need to check your Switch bandiwidth and if the NIC driver is up to date. If downloading locally is slow, Accessing directly could be slow too.
