Accessing MDS resources within OSB projects

Hi there,
We are planning to share (Schemas, WSDLs) through MDS across the enterprise however don't see any option to refer those resources while creating OSB project. Just wondering if there is any alternative. We can use URLs for the WSDL and schemas while creating the OSB project however tool appears to make a local copy of resource. Wondering if I can get some thoughts around that so we can dynamically refer to WSDLs and schemas in shared resource.
Just wondering if there is a way to have centrilized MDS at some XYZ host name and access it through host URL of some pattern?

OSB needs the WSDLs and Schemas of Proxy and Business Services to be saved as OSB resources on OSB server. Which means even if you have the WSDL in MDS or any other centralized location you will still need to save a copy of the same as an OSB resource before you can use it to create Proxy/Business services.

How to access/use DVM deployed in EM in MDS from Eclipse for a OSB project

Hello all,
I have already deployed some DVM lookup files in MDS(Meta Data Repository) and used in BPEL projects by providing a link in composite.XML in the Property tags according to this link "http://www.orafmwschool.com/soa-11g-mds/#comment-2373".
Now i want to apply same concept for OSB projects by accessing those files from Ecclipse.The files will be there in EM MDS schema database.
Please give me Ideas..Is it feasible??

OSB - command line build with resources of coinfiguration project

Hi!
I would like to use the com.bea.alsb.core.ConfigExport class to make an OSB build. This class can create the sbconfig.jar for me but without the resources of configuration project (e.g. SMTP server component). If I make a build in eclipse I can set export level (project or resource) in that, but how I could set this in script?

Termination error when accessing resource tab in project template

i am getting error when i am trying do resource in the project template. i have structured the project structure in the template. and i am trying to add roles for the project template but it is showing termination error when i click on "resource tab" in the template.

Just do a quick check if there is any custom implementation in Project management side. This may occur most probably due to not defining the navigations properly or if any modifications in the Define Navigation part of SPRO. Raising a ticket to your BASIS team might help some time to resolve this. Last option is OSS notes.

MDS usage in OSB 11g

Hi,
SOA 11g MDS can be used to share artefacts like wsdl and xsds and can be accessable to other projects so that importing of these wsdls and xsd and maintenance at centralised MDS location is more helpful.
Since OSB 11g also requires MDS for OWSM policies, can we leverage the MDS of OSB to the meet the above requirements.

Restrict deployment of OSB project

Hi,
Is it possible to allow deployment of a specific OSB project only for specific developpers?
In my project there are several teams developping OSB.
Each team has its own OSB project.
There is also a shared project that contains shared resources.
The all projects are deployed in a single domain.
Members of each team should not edit other team's projects nor the shared project.

TransactionConflictException during ant osb project export

Hey,
I am getting more and more failed ant exports of osb projects.
Searching on com.bea.wli.config.transaction.TransactionConflictException doesnt give any hits whatsoever, i suspect however something is going wrong with the eclipse workspace or something.
It is running on a dedicated machine so workspace being locked or something. Even fetching deleting the workspace and pulling anew from the SVN doesn't resolve this.

Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures

Hi,
We have a portlet that allows users to upload files to a SQL Server database and make it available for other users to access. The portlet code is on our remote servers. Everything works fine in dev environment, but certain files fail in pre-prod and prod within the portal, but work fine when the code is executed outside the portal.
I keep getting this error:
Error - Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures. Try again later or contact your portal administrator.
What could the problem be?

If the Studio service looks good on the remote server where Studio is installed (check that
the service is started and look in the Studio logs for any warnings or errors), you should
also verify the configuration settings in the Studio remote server object. Is it properly
configured and pointing to the correct remote server?
If so, check the portal servers access to the Studio server via the port specified in the remote
server (default is 11935). You can test this by doing a telnet test on the portal server. In a cmd
prompt (Windows) or on the CLI (Unix), type 'telnet [studioserver] 11935', where "<servername> is
the name of your Studio remote server. The screen should just go blank, meaning that there is
something accepting connections on that port on the given server. (We would hope it's the Studio
app and not another service occupying that port.) If you get "Could not open connection to the host"
or some such similar result, check that the network between the portal and the Studio remote server
is open (ie, make sure there isn't any port blocking or a firewall in place that would hinder the
communication between the two servers).

Unable to access local resources or RDP over VPN Connection

Dear Tech People.
I have a Windows 7 computer that I have created a VPN service through Windows on. I am able to connect to the VPN from outside of my network with my Macbook Air. However, I am unable to connect to the computer via RDP, nor can I ping my PC that
I am VPN'd into (192.168.1.252). When I am connected, the IP address that I am assigned, is 192.168.1.150. When I run ipconfig /all, I can see the "RAS < Dial In> Interface for VPN, and it is setup with an ip address of 192.168.1.151
with a /32 subnet mask. There is no default gateway listed, which is why I believe that this is not working. I cannot determine any way to make this change.
Basically, I have a VPN connection that I can do nothing with. I cannot access shared resources, nor can I start a remote desktop session. The pass through is setup for PPTP with my router, which I believe is working, as I couldn't even connect

SWT Error occured in OSB project

When I import OSB project in workshop and tried to see params in stage "service callout" a get "SWT Error occured" [img src=http://f3.s.qip.ru/56TNXCPS.jpg] and can't see params. If to create in workshop new service callout - everything is ok.
Any idea?

How to deploy osb projects into managed server in weblogic

i am new to osb
i have a doubt
i created a managed server in weblogic admin console, it was running fine ,but i need to know how to deploy my osb projects in that new manged server.As of now it is deployed in http://localhost:7001/sbconsole

I think you need to extend the domain instead of creating the managed instance manually through Admin console. By default when you create a domain using OSB domain template, it deploys all of the applications needed automatically to all the instances. If you are trying to do it manually, then you need to follow the documentation to see which applications need to be deployed to use OSB services.

To deploy a project, Login to SB console http://<admin>:<port>/sbconsole > System Administration > Export/Import Resources.

OSB project deployment problem with MFL file

I have created a OSB project to transform a xml message into a text file. For this I have created a mfl and the necessary proxy/business service. I can generate the sbconfig.jar from OEPE tool. But while trying to deploy the sbconfig.jar (generated from OEPE toll) in the OSB server the following error is coming:

     It may cause because of the following problem,
1) Make Sure that your MFL is working perfectly
2) Make sure that your OSB Server is Running with out any error..

Ehcache config in osb project

Hi All,
I'm working on osb 11.1.1.5 version.I have configured Ehcache 2.5.2 version and created java class in the eclipse environment.I created ehcache.xml file and placed it in my application class path,added all ehcache related jars.It is working fine.Now i have created jar file for my java classes and tried to calling this jar in my javacallout component of the proxy service of osb project.I created one folder,i placed all the related jar files into the folder.But im able to get all the classes except the class which consists of ehcache related code,and im also not able to run the proxy with the ehcache jars,if i removed the ehcache jar from my project i'm able to run the proxy service.otherwise it indicating the error
Error publishing project changes for: OSB Configuration 1 socket write error: Connection reset by peer.
I'm also tried with place all the ehcache jars in the domain lib folder.But i'm not able to get the ehcache related code java class in the javacallout of osb proxyservice.
Is there any separate configuration for ehcache in the osb?It is working in the eclipse environment as a java project,but when im trying to call the same java class jar file in the osb project it is not working.
please give me any suggestions....i'm new to osb...

If you want to call a Java class using Java Callout in Proxy, you need to create a Jar type resource in OSB and import the needed Jar file there. Only the Jar files which are imported this way will be available for Java Callout. Also, any other libraries which your main jar is dependent on should be in the server classpath.
