Hi Kiran,
Here's some sample code that I've got of an abstract portal component that goes through the contents of a KM folder and displays the KM description for the file:
package com.graybar.portal.titleload;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.*;
import java.io.File;
import java.util.ArrayList;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentResponse;
import com.sapportals.portal.security.usermanagement.*;
import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.*;
import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.service.IRepositoryServiceFactory;
import com.sapportals.wcm.util.uri.*;
public class TitleLoad extends AbstractPortalComponent {
    public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response) {
          response.write("starting... <BR>");
          response.write("***************************** <BR>");
          IUser user = (IUser)request.getUser().getUser();
          IResourceContext resourceContext = new ResourceContext(user);
          // starting folder
          RID repositoryID = new RID("/documents/TitleLoad");
          // Get the Service
          IRepositoryServiceFactory repServiceFactory = null;
          try {
               repServiceFactory = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getServiceFactory();
          } catch (Exception ex) {
               ex.printStackTrace();
          if(repServiceFactory == null) {
               System.out.println("Repository Service Factory is null!!");
          try {
               IResource resource = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(repositoryID, resourceContext);
               if( resource != null ) {
                    if (resource.isCollection()) {
                         ICollection collection = (ICollection)resource;
                         IResourceList children = collection.getChildren();
                         int resourceCounter = 0;
                         String attrType = new String();
                         response.write("size = " + children.size() + "<BR>");

                              prop = ir.getProperty(propNameP);
                              response.write("before <BR>");
                              try {
                                   propValue = prop.getStringValue();
                              } catch (Exception e) {
                                   propValue = "";
                              response.write("after <BR>");
                              response.write("Name = " + ir.getName() + "; Description = " + propValue + "<BR>");
                              resourceCounter++;

  • How to access the XDB-Repository through iAS

    It is easy to access the XDB repository on a database server directly using http or ftp.
    However, since our database server is behind a firewall we need to access the XDB repository through our Oracle Internet application server (iAS 9i) which is situated outside the firewall. Does anyone know how to do this? Any hint is greatly appreciated; unfortunately nobody answers to this question in the iAS forum.
    We access a PSP-application on the database-server through the iAS-server using a DAD defined on the IAS-server. The XDB repository probably needs another access proceeding.
    Our environement:
    iAS 9.2 (Solaris)
    Oracle 9.2.0.4 (Solaris)
    Thank you very much for any help

  • Recording video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http.

    As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?
    What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server. Afterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
    How can I redirect the http request to the files I was recorded into my applications/appName folder? Or I need to somehow moved the recorded files to the /webroot folder?
    Thanks!

    I probably have asked a stupid question.
    My recorded streams are still saved in the applications/appName/streams folder.
    And I redirect the www.mydomain.com/streams to point to the applications/appName/streams folder.
    And the rmtp recorded streams are abled to connect through http now.

  • Error while accessing DP Planning Book through Portal. ( internet)

    Dear SDN,
    We are using a collaborative planning book from SCM 4.0 system, which is published as a service on the ITS (6.20 version). This ITS has been published so that we can access the system from the Broadband, simply like any other website.
    The ITS URL is :
    http://mmscmoptprd.mahindradms.com/scripts/wgate/webgui/!
    The planning book service is
    http://mmscmoptprd.mahindradms.com/scripts/wgate/clpsdp/!
    When we try through our LAN, we can access it.
    When entering through broadband, we can see the first page of planning book , i.e. where selection of planning book and planning view is to be made.
    Once a selection is made from the dropdown, and when <u><b>"CHOOSE"</b></u> button is clicked (for that matter the rectangular box containing the selection criteria and also the <u><b>Exit</b></u> button ) we get a message as :
    <i>Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly.
    Line : 714
    Char : 1
    Error : Object Expected
    Code : 0
    URL : http://mmscmoptprd.mahindradms.com/scripts/wgate/clpsdp/!?client=100&language=en&accessibility=0&DesignBaseUrl=%3A%2f%2fmdwds01.mahindradms.com%3A80%2firj%2fportalapps%2Fcom.sap.portal.design.portaldesigndata%2Fthemes%2Fits&~design=mm_dms_defaultTheme</i>
    and it remains on the same page.
    The IView used is of the type :
    1. URL IView ... CLPSDP service url is given as parameter URL.
    2. IAC IView : web-service is "clpsdp" and "ITS url" is given.
    We intend to give either one which should work fine.
    I am not able to figure out as due to what reason should this problem arise, either the UI attributes or the publishing or something else.
    Request you to please help.

    From location A when we are trying to access the SAP application in location B  through WAE-674 via internet Explorer there is a slow response in IE-7 PC's compare to IE-8 PC's,But when we try without WAE-674 the response is normal.
    We also found that optimization in location A WAAS device as 70-90% but still users are facing slowness while opening the Webpage.
    Please suggest how to address the problem ASAP.
    Thanks & Regards,
    P.Ramkumar

    I would suggest that you open a case with the tac to look at this. Matthew

  • Problem in accessing the standard transaction from Portal through RFC

    Below is the error we are getting when we run RFC (which has P60) from the portal(JAVA webdynpro)  which inturn uses BDC to get the spool id from the standard p60(RPCEOYG0)..
    Msgid "00"
    Msgno "359"
    Msgtx "The transaction was terminated by the user".
    But if i keep the debugger inside the RFC after the call_transaction and if I press F8 then I am getting the correct output. Could some one tell me the reason behind this ?
    thanks,
    Prashanth J R

    Hi,
    It sounds to me like the BDC or some other component being called from your Z function module requires some sort of dialog interface (maybe an "Are you sure?" type message).
    When calling RFC from Web Dynpro, you should ensure that at no point in the call stack does it try to perform any dialog functions (messages, pop-up box, display screens).
    You mention that you BDC does a CALL TRANSACTION at some point, you should ensure that this isn't executed when you are calling by RFC from a Web Dynpro.
    Your Z function module should be able to execute from start to finish, returning the results without any dialog interaction.
    I might be wrong, but it sounds similar to a problem we  had a few years ago where someone had coded an "Are you sure?" message into a function module that was called from a stadard R/3 dialog screen as well as Web Dynpro in the Portal, and it broke the portal based stuff.
    Cheers,

  • Is there any way to find out who accessed the BW reports in Portal

    Hi! Experts
    We have some BW reports which are published through SAP Portal and access given to only Team Leaders, now we want to see who are accessed or trying to access those reports other then Team leaders. Is there any way we can generate a LOG file etc.  to see  those user IDs. Any suggestions will be highly regarded with points

  • Integration: how to best access and run SAP through Portal

    We are currently using Oracle Portal for publishing reports directly from our EDW, for giving access to some applications and for delivering unstructured information.
    In the future we are very likely to give our suppliers and employees access to reports and interfaces for conducting transactions straight into SAP. This is most likely done via a web GUI.
    One way to do this of course is to implement the SAP Portals solution, the other is to keep using Oracle Portal and access SAP Portlets/iViews from there - the latter is to be preferred based on the cost of switching platforms, but we have also to take into account the cost of integration.
    So to my question: What would be the best way to integrate these to systems? Has it been done before? Is Web Services the way to go? ???????

    Ajax is a microsoft toolkit that the web site is using and is not compatible with Safari. They only support I.E. and windows.
    From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Advanced tab. Enable the Develop menu. In the Develop menu select User Agent and then try Internet Explorer 9.
