Accessing values during runtime in value mapping

Hi all,
We have a specific requirement , where in we have a set of fields coming from the source system. All the fields have values expect few. The few which don't have values are reserved for future use, and for each source field there is a corresponding target value and we need map them.
We have used value mapping here, but it doesn't work for fields which don't have values.
We have thought of  accessing the fields which do not have values, dynamically or at runtime by connecting the database of the source system.
Is it possible to do this, if yes, please provide with your inputs and alternatives.
thanks,
younus

<b>To implement Value Mapping, following activities have to be performed:</b>
<b>1.</b> Register Java Proxies. This is one time activity for each installation. Following URL has to be called for registering asynchronous replication scenario:
http://<Server>:<Port>/ProxyServer/register?ns=http://sap.com/xi/XI/System&interface=ValueMappingReplication&bean=localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.xi.services/ValueMappingApplication&method=valueMappingReplication
<b>2.</b> Application Programming: ABAP program has to be written to perform following tasks:
<b>a.</b> Read Value Mapping data from table.
<b>b.</b> Call Outbound Proxy to push the data into a message to Integration Server.
<b>3.</b> Configuration of Replication scenario in Integration Directory.

  • Free Form Template and Combining Chart Values during Runtim

    Hi Guys,
Need your expertise on this.  We received some unreasonable request for the following:
    1. Free Form Template DURING Runtime
    - moving charts from one place to another by dragging them from one place to another during runtime
    2. Combining of Chart values during Runtime
-to be able to mash-up 2 different charts during runtime.  For example, dragging a chart to another chart
would result to a combined-value of chart.  For instance, you have a Sales Chart and a Production Chart,
if and when Sales Chart is dragged and placed on top of Production Chart then it would mash-up the values
and will produce only one chart.
    Is this even possible?
    Hope you guys can help.
    Kind Regards and Many Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark
    1. Free form template is not possible with current version of Dashboard Designer.  You may use the option of Dynamic Visibility to simulate this.  But this might not serve your requirement 100 %.
    2. Your requirement of mixing up chart just by dragging and droping on another is coming under Designing part.  For designing we need software, in my point of view.  Xcelsius is a Tool to generate required output in various formats.  Here we need to finalise the output such as chart type/ data to be displayed/ format to be displayed, etc and while viewing we may play with data but not with objects other than dynamic visibility.
    Hope this clarifies.
    With best wishes
    BaaRaa.

  • Replacing attribute value during runtime?

Ok Here we go... Is it possible to replace the value of an attribute during query runtime???
Here is what my user wants...They want the value of an attribute in a query (no the input selection) to change according to the current date for example:
If today is monday then the value of 0VTYPE in a query is 10.
If today is tuesday the same value of 0VTYPE in the same query would by 20.

We need to use "Key Date" concept.
Think you should get some idea by this link.

  • Getting screen field values during runtime

    Hi everyone,
In debugger for dynamically getting the screen field values we will be using  (SAPLMGMW)CALP-ENDPA this format to get the value of the field CALP-ENDPA.
But this will give only for fields. My question is that how to get the screen field labels values in debugger.
Take a look at following picture.

    Hi,
Try putting a watch point on the screen field name and see where it is changing.
If your need is before that it won't be possible to get it as it is a processed value.
Also if it is updating on screen but still you are not getting that means the value is not transported from the Screen to the program in that case use the FM DYNP_VALUES_READ to get the values the documentation has the usage else there are lot of blogs just search it.

  • User Exit/Enhancement to populate the characteristic value during runtime in FB50

    Hi
I have a requirement where in FB50 when I enter the GL Account , Tax Code, Tax Jurisdiction code and Assignment and press enter  I need to default some of the characteristics value (which comes in the popup when you click on the Profit. Sgment ).
Please let me know if any enhance or exit is there to achieve this.
    FB50 screen.
When I enter the GL account and click on Profit Segment button below popup will come . I want to default Rebate field with some value.
    Thanks,
    Sumit

    Hi Gangadhar...
Thanks for your reply. Actually our requirement is not with the fixed values .
We need that , when we go to FB50 and then provide the GL account and there is one column called 'Assignment'. As soon as we fill the value in assignment column and then if I click on Profit. Segment button for that row the value from the 'Assignment' column should get populated in the Rebate characteristic value field.
    For eg.
As I gave Assignment field value as 1234 and when I click on Profit. Segment button the Rebate characteristics value should get populated with 1234.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Sumit.

  • Allow user defined values during run time

    Hi ,
I have created a VI wherein I have 3 inputs as enums, I also want to give the user the capability to enter runtime values which are not present in the drop down for the enum , is it possible ? I see an option in the propeties of the enums as "allow user to enter undefined values during runtime" , will this serve the same purpose as I am looking for or is it something different ?
Please see the attached snapshot for the option I am referring to .

What you see is a disabled option in the items editor.  The items editor is common between Rings Comboboxs and enums.  I don't know why  the gurus and R&D decided to disable and grey the checkbox rather than hide the darn thing.  Lucky for us its not something that customers see just developers.  At least we have the ability to ask about what that is if we don't know.

  • How to pass the Bound values to VO SQL Query during runtime?

    Hi all,
    I have the following sql query;
    SELECT NOTIFICATION_ID
    FROM xx_NOTIFICATION_V
    WHERE COMPANY = NVL(:1, COMPANY)
    AND INITIATOR = NVL(:2,INITIATOR)
    AND PAYGROUP = NVL(:3, PAYGROUP)
    AND SOURCE = NVL(:4, SOURCE)
    AND SUPPLIER_NAME = NVL(:5,SUPPLIER_NAME)
    AND TRX_DATE BETWEEN NVL(:6,TRX_DATE)
    AND NVL(:7,TRX_DATE)
If i click GO button on search page then it pass the selected Poplists values as a Bound values to VO Sql query at runtime after this I store the search results in a Table(Which is created by using New Region Wizard).
I want to pass the Bind parameter values to VO SQL query during runtime and :1,:2,:3,:4,:5,:6,:7 values are coming from Poplists.
I search through forum I found many threads regarding Bind Values but those all are passing ID's only not String(Varchar) values.
How to pass the Character values to VO Query.
Please anyone help me on this.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • How to pick a field value from transaction during runtime

    Hi,
I have an exit which allows creation of po without purch. req. for selected Purchasing Document Types.
similarly the exit should also allow the creation po's with item categories 'L and  U' even without pr's.
now my problem is how to pick the value of this  item category during runtime so as to put the check.
    your suggestions are valued.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
if you have the new debugger, you can see the global variables that you can use in your exit (putting a break point on your code), so you can found easly the structure or field that contains your informations.
    I hope that's useful for u,

  • Change values in File physical schema during runtime?

Is there any way to change the Directory in physical schema
    during runtime?
This is needed so that we can dynamically get the files from
    different locations.
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Yes there is:
Create your physical schema to a parent directory and, at Physical Resourse (File Datastore) use a variable before the name of the file.
Compose the variable with the "child" directory. I like to create the path on execution time.
    Does it help you?

  • How to map nodes to an embedded Component during runtime?

    Hi,
I embed a Component (<i>BasisComponent</i>) in a new created Component (<i>MyComponent</i>) to use some funcionality from it. Therefor, I have to map some ValueNodes from <i>MyComponent</i> to <i>BasisComponent</i> during designtime to transfer the data. I thought, I could use External-Context-Mapping for that. That means I've created a ValueNode in <i>BasisComponent</i>'s InterfaceController and declared it for ExternalContextMapping (let's call it <i>ExtNode</i>.
Because I want to use this basis functionality from different embedding Components (<i>MyComponent1, MyComponent2</i>, etc.), I can't declare the structure of <i>BasisComponents ExtNode</i> yet, it's just an empty ValueNode.
Now, I want to map from my using Components their different ValueNodes to <i>BasisComponents ExtNode</i>.
How to do that? Or is there another possibility to put different value-nodes from different components to the same Node in my <i>BasisComponent</i>? Can this be done during designtime? I believe it can be definitively done during runtime....
    kr, achim

    Achim,
Let me use your example and explain what in fact will work when you are creating attributes/nodes only at design time.
Let us define context in BasicComponent as:
    - MyRoot (0..n, selection 0..1, singleton)
    |-MyInt (int)
    |-MyString (string)
Say, ComponentA has the following context structure:
    - rootNode (0..n, selection 0..1, singleton)
    |-attA (int)
    |-attB (string)
    |-attX (string)
    --attC
Then you can easly map rootNode of ComponentA to MyRoot of BasicComponent, attA -> MyInt, attB -> MyString, attX left is not used for mapping.
    =============
Same is true for ComponentB with
    - RootOfBNode (0..n, selection 0..1, singleton)
    |-attIgnored (date)
    |-attA_INT (int)
    |-attB_STR (string)
    |-attY (string)
    --attZ
ComponentB.RootOfBNode -> CU of BasicComponent.MyRoot, attA_INT -> MyInt, attB_STR -> MyString, attY and attIgnored are not used for mapping.
    =============
However, if context of ComponentA is defined as
    - rootNode (<b>0..1</b>, selection 0..1, singleton)
    |-attA (int)
    |-attB (string)
    |-attX (string)
    --attC
...then you are out of luck -- wrong cardinality of node.
    Moreover, this case also fails
    - rootNode (0..n, selection 0..1, singleton)
    |-attA (string)
    |-attB (string)
    |-attX (string)
    --attC
Here all attributes are strings so mappings will be incomplete. To fix this you need at least fake attribute in rootNode.
And mostly important fact: if you can't map nodes in designer due to mismatch context structures the any dynamic (at run-time) mapping will fail as well in majority of cases.

  • How to fetch values at runtime in field exit function module

    Hi all,
I am creating a field exit for delivery date in Purchase requisition.
For that I need to capture Delivery Date and Sale Order entered in purchase requisition and pass this to Function module and validate this data.
I am using import and export parameters but it is giving runtime error.
please tell me how to solve it.

  • How to access a value from "List of Values" by giving a name?

I have a "List Of Values" defined in my BI Report. It comprises list of label-value pairs.
I have defined a parameter :p_Value for the above "List Of Values" defnition. this parameter is used in datasource sql defnition to filter the query results. I configured a template which has a table that shows all the parameters used for filtering query results. If I give <?$p_Value?> in the template then the parameter value is rendered on it. But I want the "name" of the parameter and not the value. Can anybody tell me how to access name of the parameter which refers to one of value in "List of Value" defnition?

    option 1:
Can you get the value from the DB in the report sql ?
You have the code, inside the report query, if you can get the decoded value form that
    option2:
create another paramater, LOV and query, and make it as hidden, and use the first :param_1_value in the lov query in the second param and decode the value.
Now , you can refer the :PARAM_2_value in template which will have decoded value.

  • Report Parameter Default Value at runtime

    Post Author: DMiller
    CA Forum: .NET
    Hi,
I need to be able to create new parameters at runtime and have been somewhat successful in this endeavor. I have one remaining issue that I am hoping that somebody can help me with. Let me explain.
When you create a parameter from within the Crystal XI designer, you are able to specify a number of default values that will display as a list box at runtime. Eg. ParameterName is MaritalStatus and default values are ("Married", "Single", "Divorced" etc). There is also the ability to specify the Default Value in the Value Options area of the screen. This value could be set to any one of the default values above - let's say that I set it to "Single". By setting the Default Value, this causes the Parameter Fields screen, at runtime, to "Select" the specific default value set above - in this case "Single", instead of showing "..." as the parameter value.
The default value setting in the Value Options is beneficial when you have reports that are usually run with certain parameter values and only occasionally these need to change. Instead of having to specify every parameter value, the user only has to set the ones that have not been defaulted or they want to change.
So, I have been successful in creating the parameters at runtime and successfully running the report. I have been unsuccessful in setting the "Default Value" as seen in the Value Options area. I have tried a number of properties on the report parameter object and have not found anything to set this.
Does anybody know how to set the "Default Value" as seen in the Value Options area in the designer at runtime?
    Thanks for any help.

You have described my scnario to a tee.  Did you ever figure out how to get the single default value that is available in the "value options" area when working within the Crystal Reports development environment.  I am using VB.Net and have a nice report menu form and viewer but recently a user ask me to set the default value in one of my combo boxes and I have been unsuccessful in finding the correct property to use.

  • How to accessing current row report column value in Lov Query?

    Hi,
which access methods (eg. bind variables, substitutions, ...) for getting the current row report column value can be used in the "Lov Query" property of a report column?
As what I know of and what I have read on the forum there are no bind variables for the report columns. For the "Link Text" property it seems that the column values exist as substitution strings (#COLUMN_NAME#). But they don't work in the Lov Query. => And would be good because of a hard parse each time the Lov query is executed.
The following post (Re: Simulating a correlated sub query in lov
is showing a solution to use package variables for temporary storage of the referenced value, but the only problem with that solution is that if a new record is added with the "Add rows to tabular form" process the package variable still contains the value from the last queried row! Is there a way (variable, APEX package, ...) to determine if the lov query is executed for a new record so that the package can return null?
I know that I could write the package in a way that the value is immediately cleared when lov_pkg.keyval is called (one time read), but then I would have to create several variables if I'm accessing the value multiple times in the query or in another query => I think an one time read solution would be very obscurely.
    Thanks for your help

    http://inside-apex.blogspot.com

    Hi Patrick,
I agree that it's a waste to continually use Ajax to go back to the server to get the contents of a dynamic select list.
There are no bind variables for any row item - but what you do have, as per my previous post, is the value of the data entered by the user in the first row. You can pass this into your application process (using get.add("VARIABLENAME", value)), which can use it to retrieve the correct LOV in your Ajax code - this will give you a "bind variable" that your process can use.
What you could do, however, is generate hidden select lists on your page - one for each possible LOV list and replace the contents of the new row's select list with the contents of the appropriate hidden select list. This is easy to do with javascript (using innerHTML functions). Obviously, though, the usefulness of this depends on the number and size of the select lists.
Even if you don't generate them to start with, you can keep a copy of any select lists returned by Ajax in the DOM for use on new rows. So, if you have retrieved a select list, you will have a copy of it in DOM which you can then copy into the new row. If you don't have the list in DOM, use Ajax to get it, store a copy of it and copy it into the new row.
Which method you use will depend on the number/size of select lists needed. If they are few in number and/or size, I would suggest generating hidden lists. If they are large, use Ajax to get them once, store them and then retrieve them from the DOM when needed.
There is another thread here where Arie recommends going to the server every time to make sure you get the most up-to-date data for the lists. If you want to follow this advice, for this reason, use get.add("VARIABLENAME", value) to pass the value to your process. If this is not an issue, you can use one of the other methods I outlined above.
    Regards
    Andy
