Accordion Auto Cycle?

Is there a way within the current framwork to have an accordion panel auto cycle through the panels? I noticed some lines in the .js file with params like "timer" and "interval" - is that what these are for?

The timers you see are probably for the animation effect. There is no auto cycle effect for the accordion. But you can create one your self.

• Issues with AUTO cycling through ....

I'm trying to do this:
Any help with one or the other is very much appriciated !!!
1) When the Timer is finish auto cycling through the tabs (1 to 16) of the ViewStack, and switching over to tab (1) to STOP, I would like to address a function to do something ???
The question is now how to write the code to ID that the Timer has come to a STOP on tab (1), and how can I incoperate this into the existing (onTimerOne) function.
2) The second item I'm after is that if I'm amnualy select any tab (1 to 16) to address also a function to do something ???
3) The third item I'm after is to automaticly zero (0) the ViewStack to tab number (1) if I click a Btn.
<mx:Script>

import flash.events.TimerEvent;
import flash.utils.Timer;
private var timerOne:Timer;
private function initOne():void {
timerOne = new Timer(5000, myViewStack.numChildren);
timerOne.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, onTimerOne);
private function onTimerOne(evt:TimerEvent):void {
if(myViewStack.selectedIndex == myViewStack.numChildren-1) {
myViewStack.selectedIndex = 0;
return;
myViewStack.selectedIndex++;
private function autoOne():void {
if (!timerOne.running) {
timerOne.start();
private function manualOne():void {
if (timerOne.running) {
timerOne.stop();

</mx:Script>
4) Well, the fourth item I'm trying to work out is as I'm reading my data from an Xml file to have a TextArea which shows the different countries from the Xml file for each ViewStack tab while auto cycling through these tabs (1 to 16).
The diffuculty here is that I use this Xml with a specific urlID="1" to urlId="16" as part shown below.
<urlsOceania>
<urlOceania urlID="1"/>
<searchCountry>American Samoa</searchCountry>
<etc></etc>
</urlsOceania>
I'm reading all the other items this way:
source="{urlsOceania.urlOceania.(@urID==1).etc}"
Thanks in advance aktell2007

Thanks for the confirmation. 7 miles away is most likely using the same VZW tower but it does confirm the problem is not in your current location for us.
You can look up local tower locations from many public websites such as the following:
www.antennasearch.com
www.cellreception.com
http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2990/63/
The signal of -65 shows you have strong reception but it doesnt show the entire picture. Your tower could be overloaded or unauthenticating you. There are lots of little issues that exist outside of the raw signal strength between the towers and the connecting devices that we users have no control over. As you may guess only a tower tech has access to identify and correct these things.
Based on the picture of the back of the MBR1515/Netgear N300 router from Netgear I would assume that only a normal sized SIM card will fit. I would not assume a micro SIM card will fit. Since I do not have access to either of the VZW or non-VZW 4G LTE router I cannot confirm if it will work or not. You might have to give Netgear a call and ask. Based on what I can see from the User Guides of both devices the SIMs used for each should be compatible with eachother.
If you decide to purchase the non vzw version please post back your findings for us.

• Any way to auto-cycle through waypoints?

Hi,
Anyone know if there's a way to automate this "waypoints" script (or if another exists that already does it)?
http://imakewebthings.github.com/jquery-waypoints/
By automate, I mean automatically cycle between waypoints, on a loop.
Thanks!

Emir,
Thanks for the response! The version we are using is 2006.0.7.1. The scenario I gave was only an example... We are looking to address a dictionary permission issue due to regulatory issues. We have fields in LDAP that contain the regulatory rules and have a need to permission dictionaries (read access) based on these rules.
Just curious...how do you setup filters to ignore users? Is this manually managed? &

• DVD Slide shows only auto-cycle 100 slides; then aborts. What's the fix??

I burned 2800 jpeg Photos from my IMac onto a DVD using iDVD and set it up for auto-play, so that the 2800-frame slide show would autostart running and advance to a new photo every 3 seconds as soon as loaded into the DVD player in our TV room.
On my Panasonic DVD player, however, I can only view the first 100 or so slides automatically before the show aborts and the player defaults back to its home screen as if it had completed the slide show.
Why will my DVD player only show the first 100 of 2800 slides on the DVD before quitting ? Is it a limitation of the DVD player hardware or software or have I misconfigured iDVD ?
If I want to view all 2800 slides on the DVD, I can do so only by holding down the forward and reverse buttons on the player's remote control to jump forward or backward to the next or previous slides. Only then will it display beyond the first 100 or so slides and run to the end. In auto advance mode, it chokes after the first 100 frames and quits on me.
As long as I manually advance to the next frame, I am fine...but the player-DVD combination will only auto-advance the first 100 before the player hardware/software crashes.
Any ideas how to fix ????
Intel Imac 2.1 GHz - 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   1 Gb RAM

Thanks. This is very clumsy to work around but maybe the just released Toast 8 has a workaround that iDvd does not. Trick is I guess to get 28 tracks onto a single DVD - each with 99 (slides) chapters. Is this doable ??
Surely there is a simple way to copy 2800 files - maybe just a simple file copy, onto a blank CD or DVD and have a CD/DVD player`read them and auto advance.
This is very frustrating because these sophisticated software programs are good at doing fancy things with movies but can't produce a simple slide show with more than 99 frames.
Michael,
The basic problem is iDVD treats slides in a
slideshow as chapters and a DVD track is limited to
99 chapters per track. Prior to iDVD 6, slideshows
were limited to 99 slides. iDVD 6 added a 'fix' to
allow several such slideshow tracks to be linked
together. HOWEVER, not all DVD players (as you have
found) want to recognize the linking and will quit
(or drop the audio) after the 99th slide.
Any ideas how to fix ????
There is nothing you can do in iDVD to change this.
There are some DVD players that will play through
all he images - you can take you DVD to a 'big-box'
store with a lot of DVD players on display and see
if you can find a player that will play all the
slides.
OR
You can create your slideshow as a movie in iMove,
although your 2800 slides at 3 seconds per slide
would create a movie that is 140 minutes long, and
this exceeds the 120 minute limit of what can be put
on a single layer DVD with iDVD.

• Using the same script twice but different options on a single page

having a hard time figuring out how to run the cycle script which is in use on one portion of my webpage as a slider gallery under my header, but i'd also like to use it in a small are in the upper right of the same page but with a different transition, to showcase specific products in a gallery.
how do i accomplish this? I've been to the cycle plugin page http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/begin.html but am having trouble interpreting their page source syntax
in my head section i have the following declared:

and in my body its invoked simply by:

now should i change the head function to

and how would i later invoke this the body here?

$('#s1').cycle('fade');

- this is what they do on their wepage but i dont understand what this
<code class="mix"... is all about.
can someone please explain
thanks

I recommend using Cycle2 instead of the old Cycle Plugin. Out of the box, Cycle2 is better and has more features. Just copy & paste the following code into a new document.

• Trouble Creating an iWeb "Hub Page"

Have been away from iWeb for a while, but now need some reminders on how to do a few things which I can't seem to find the commands for, but which I'm assuming should be relatively simple -- and that assumption is probably my first mistake!
The Project: Am needing to create a kind of iWeb "Hub-Page", which basically consists of a header, title graphic, etc. (that part's ready to go), and then four "poster-frame" images (let's say sized roughly 320x240), each of which is a link to either an Aperture-published Gallery (but one which is "invisible" to my other Galleries); an Aperture-published web page; or an iWeb-created Photo and/or Albums page.
In an ideal world, it would be great if each of these poster-image hyperlinks could be mouse-skimmed so the visitor could preview the contents before actually activating the link -- but I'm guessing that may still not yet be possible. What I definitely DON'T want is the automatic, never-ending "slideshow" effect I see when I try using the MobileMe Gallery widget.
So, my general questions are:
1) If using the MM Gallery widget, how do you simply disable that auto-cycling preview effect? (Surely there's an option for at least that much somewhere -- like the animation controls for a My Albums page.)
2) Also, how do you get the preview thumbs to fit within whatever image frame size you've set, rather than the ugly default whereby they get arbitrarily cropped when their aspect ratios and their horizontal/vertical alignments differ from that of the image frame?
3) And is there an equivalent way to link "dynamically" (i.e. with the mouse-scrubbing ability) from iWeb to an Aperture-published +web page+ (as opposed to a Gallery album), or even to a separate iWeb-published photo page (one which is either part of the same overall site, or a page from a separate site)?
4) OR... (if the answers to 1-3 are basically "it's 2010, and iWeb is still glued to coverage of the 2004 Summer Games in Athens"), should I just forget about widgets, and mouse-skimming, and simply drag in four representative images, make each a hyperlink to whichever MobileMe Gallery, Aperture Web Page, or other iWeb page I desire, and be done with it?
And if the answer to #4 is a firm "Yes", is there any way I can still have a uniform navigation bar across the top of each page, allowing for quick flipping between them? (...in other words, to have these various Galleries and individual photo pages -- each with their own unique URLs -- all appear within some kind of frame *when accessed via this new iWeb "hub page" I'm creating*... or will the visitor always have to click Back to the hub-page in order to then go to one of the other pages represented there?)
Hope that made some sense -- any guidance on any of the above will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
John B.

Wyodor wrote:
So basically you're saying you do not like the default features of iWeb, MobileMe Gallery and all that, and you actually want a custom website. If that's the case, the short answer is: design it yourself. But it requires study, effort, finding solutions, practice, finding alternatives and more study. It's called webdesign. And for the most parts, you gave the answers yourself. So do what you want.
To be fair -- and perhaps my original intent wasn't clear -- I was really just trying to get clarification on a few of those iWeb, MobileMe Gallery, and related-app defaults, especially the current extent and limitations of their configurability. I stress "current", since any application default -- and whatever options exist to change its parameters -- is obviously a constantly changing and ever-evolving process. One version's "sorry, no way" scenario is often the next version's empowering new feature.
For instance...
1. Create the webpages you want to link to.
2. On the hub page add the four images.
3. Hyperlink the images to the pages you created in 1.
Which is indeed the Plan B scenario I outlined in item #4 of my original post, and which is essentially what I did in fact end up doing.
That original post was primarily an attempt to see if my Plan A scenario was an iWeb possibility yet (as I mentioned, having been largely away from the app since the previous version). I figure it's best to check these forums first before sending off more suggestions and feature requests to Apple Feedback, since it sometimes happens that the capability I'm seeking has in fact been implemented, and I'm just not looking in the right place.
And there's always a very grey area between configuring and customizing, especially in the area of web design -- iWeb itself being a good example. For all its easy-to-use, pre-defined templates (and thank goodness for them), iWeb does in fact also allow for a great deal of website customization in many areas. There are certainly a number of things of which it's now capable, which if proposed in the days of version 1 would have merited the response: "you're asking for a custom site -- learn how to code and design it yourself".
Much of what I'd like to be able to do is just that -- nice if available as an already-impemented feature, but not essential, and certainly not something I could justify spending large amounts of time learning how to achieve manually. Especially since this morning's non-configurable default is this afternoon's Feedback suggestion and next Tuesday's exciting new feature.
(Okay, maybe next month's.)
But as for any unrealistic expectations, my only true annoyance with any current default is when it seems arbitrarily limiting -- case in point being the automatic slideshow preview feature of the MM Gallery widget, which apparently comes with absolutely no "Off" switch. To me that just makes little if any sense, and runs counter to the general spirit of user-friendliness we've come to expect in our Apple apps, whether consumer or pro level. It's as if certain kinds of links (say to any external page) automatically included an engagingly cute musical intro, and there was no option to disable that default. It might be a fun feature, even a very cool one, but to make it mandatory, with no way to NOT have it enabled? I'd say that's a default that clearly needs to be changed (as in: made optional).
So would still love to hear from anyone who may have found a way to do this in iWeb '09 -- failing which, I'll definitely be adding that to my next batch of iWeb Feedback notes. Only question will be: whether to label it a Feature Request, or a Bug Report?
(BTW, for any humorously-challenged readers, that last question was meant as a joke.)
Thanks again though to Wyodor for taking the time to respond.

When I run this query, below are the errors I see:
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Incorrect syntax near '('.
Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 6

Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 17
Incorrect syntax near 'HR_DEV_DM'.
I don't see any problem with 'HR_DEV_DM'. Because, I was able to run the below queries:
select * from [HR_DEV_DM].[CFQ_TEST].t_Chg_Rsns
select * from [HR_DEV_DM].[CFQ_TEST].t_Qt_Typs where Qt_Typ = 'Auto/Cycle'
select * from [HR_DEV_DM].[CFQ_TEST].CFQ_Referrals where QuoteType = 'MOAT'
Please help.......

What you are trying to achieve is possible, it's just a matter of syntax.

• How to add trailing blanks

Dear All
I have a small problem. I have a variable QMTXT of length 40 but in the output the string stored is of lenghth 30 to 38 only. Now I am getting data inside a TEXT file and becaue of automatic concatenating my next field of NUMC type is not getting properly in file.
It's position shifts as per the lenghth of the QMTXT field. Kindly let me know how can I let the field QMTXT have fixed length added with spaces up to 40 characters so that my next field will also be at fixed place

Hi All
I have pasted the output below. I have also used the
MLFN. DT DESCRIPTION OF THE NOTIFICATION IN TEXT BRKDN.DURATION
20050102 FATTAL ERROR DACK GAIN LARGE 9168.72
20050102 TAIL STOCK NOT OPERATED 9143.53
20050102 GUAGE PROBLEM SIZE NOT OK. 9143.08
20050103 AUTO CYCLE NOT WKG. 9135.80
20050103 auto cycle not working 9131.67
20050104 linear indexing not working 9111.20
20050104 AUTO CYCLE INTRUPT FREQUENTLY 9104.60
I have also used the internal table here but still the problem persists.
Part of my code which creates this file is below.
CONCATENATE 'NOTFN.NO' 'EQUP.NO' 'LOCN.' 'MLFN. DT' 'DESCRIPTION OF THE NOTIFICATION IN TEXT' 'BRKDN.DURATION'
INTO str1 SEPARATED BY space.
MOVE str1 TO i_mail-line.
APPEND i_mail.
CLEAR i_mail.
APPEND i_mail.
LOOP AT it_jest.
WRITE it_jest-auszt TO auszt LEFT-JUSTIFIED.
CONCATENATE it_jest-qmnum it_jest-equnr it_jest-stort it_jest-ausvn it_jest-qmtxt auszt
INTO i_mail-line SEPARATED BY space.
APPEND i_mail.
CLEAR it_jest.
ENDLOOP.

• Website looks nothing like my design :|

Hi All,
Second post here, hope that you are able to assist.
So I started to build a website and its based on the throughout template: http://www.freecsstemplates.org/preview/throughout/.
In dreamweaver, and its preview through to firefox, it looks great. Otherwise, as soon as its on the web, it looks nothing at all, like it should :|
We have a silver business package with FastHosts. Things like ASP and PHP are included as standard, but I just cant see whats gone wrong or why?
So click on the above link to see how the template should really look (colour in my website is a goldy yellow text with black background, all else is very similar)
and the below is what it looks like on the web :|
Can anyone advise if I am missing the obvious? do I need to set something on fasthosts to allow the javascript of the template?

You're a beginner. It takes time to learn everything you don't know. To save some time, copy and paste this code into a new, blank document. I stripped out everything non-essential and changed your slideshow to jQuery Cycle2. It works now.

• Customise software update for Mavericks only

I am working on building up my MiniServer to do more than just file sharing, the next thing that would be nice is to cache software updates for the multiple instances of the Mac OS I run. When I turn on Software update, I can't parse the updates that are only for Mavericks unless I sort by date and manually manage it. That is quite time consuming and being that I don't use any version before 10.9 and soon to be 10.10, no other updates are needed.
I ask because storage is a bit limited in my case and it would be easier to have the server auto-cycle through a 15GB cache of the latest updates for Mavericks instead of downloading everything from the beginning of time.
Is that possible?

Software Update Server provides either full manual operations, or automatic operations.
Automatic operations fetch all updates, for all active OS X versions.
Short answer: Get more disk space. Aim your Server.app service data at (for instance) some big external disk, via Server.app > select the server at the left column > Settings > select Edit to the right of Service Data. That'll let you increase the size of your Caching Server caches, as well.

• GOG and Linux

GOG is finally supporting Linux!
http://www.gog.com/news/gogcom_now_supports_linux
Bought a few games on sale today and will try to add PKGBUILDs to AUR when I'll have time. Should I follow this quide if it is not outdated?
http://gogwiki.com/wiki/AUR
Do you know of any other sources for PKGBUILDs?

Lone_Wolf wrote:
add 'pkbase=gog-stargunner' (recent aur split packages support requires every pacakge to have a pkgbase)
Also when using a custom license, you must put the license in /usr/share/licenses/$pkgbase .
other then that the PKGBUILD looks ok to me.
However, i expect you may get a problem at runtime with stargunner saving files.
Could you post the dosbox.conf file used by gog-stargunner ?
Thanks for the feedback. Here is the dosbox.conf file for stargunner.
