Accordion with horizontal pixel shift

Aside from irregularities with IE yet to be solved, the
accordion I've created for a page appears exactly as desired
locally, but on the remote server there is a horizontal pixel shift
to the left for the entire accordion list. This shift is
accompanied by fine lines at the left and bottom borders.

  • When i open my computer I get the white screen with apple symbol and there are vertical lines all over the screen with green pixels and after a few minutes the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer what happens

    3 years ago I bought an IMac Desktop that I am using for a lot of things but the most important for dvd montage in Imovies and Idvd.
    Now today when I opened my computer I get as usual the white screen with the Apple symbol but there were all over the screen vertical lines with green pixels and after a while the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer using the power button or the restart button and when I do so each time the same is happening somebody can tell me what is happening and what caused this. This computer is my work and now I have no income anymore.
    On the Apple support site they are asking to enter the serial number and when I do so I get message it is wrong but it is the only one I have and I buy this computer in Cairo Egypt. I am living in Hurghada in Egypt for the moment. When I call the technical support of the shop where I buy it they are telling me that it is the hard disk or ram and that I probably lost everything on it and they are asking a big amount to repair.
    Can somebody advise me on this matter. Thanks in advance

    You can find the serial number either in About this Mc in the Menu bar under the , or it should be on a sticker under the foot of the machine.
    If you have the install discs, try booting from them, holding down the c key and then using Disk Utility to check the drive.
    You can also boot into Safe mode
    To start up into Safe Mode (to "Safe Boot"), do this:
       1. Be sure the computer is shut down.
       2. Press the power button.
       3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.
          Tip: The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone but not before.
       4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple and progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    During the startup in Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.3.9, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.
    During the startup in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login window, which appears even if you normally log in automatically.
    Please post back with results,
    To leave Safe Mode in any version of Mac OS X, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup.

  • 5900XT Pixel Shifting

    Hello,
    About a month ago I started having problems with my 5900XT.  While running HL2 or CS:Source my computer came to a grinding halt, flashing me a blue screen, and kicking me out of each program (this happened with both).  It took several trys to reboot, but once I got XP up and running and returned to the desktop, the pixles of the text for my icons were shifting as well as the pixels in my desktop.  Rebooting did not fix the problem, until several reboots later.  Now, the pixels shift, but not consisitantly.  I can run okay for 5 days out of the week.  Two days I will have pixel problems.
    Two things came to mind as possible causes - either my LCD monitor, or the videocard.  I have tried another monitor , as well as update the latest drivers/software for the LCD, and still encountered the pixle shifting problem.  I have also upgraded to the latest version of the NVIDIA videocard drivers (66.93) (making sure to uninstall the previous drivers before putting in the new ones).
    I also know that HL2 has known problems with NVIDIA cards and have the latest versions of HL2.  But even if HL2 is the problem, my computer is still "pixel shifting" on me on start up in windows.
    I have found that if I reboot, it will fix the problem 50% of the time.  I have also found that if i shut my monitor off, and turn it back on, or if I change from 1280X1024 @ 60 hz (the monitors native resolution) to a lower resolution, and then back up, the shifting goes away.
    Next course of action: update the videocard firmware?  Flash BIOS?  Change out NVIDIA drivers for MSI drivers?
    Does anybody have any ideas?

    I think the first thing I would do is list the corresponding amperages for the +12v, +5v, & +3.3v lines found on the sticker of the power supply.
    Some of the newer sonata cases have a better power supply than the ones that previously shipped. The newer ones I believe have 20+ amps on the 12v rail, then you should be OK. I've seen even the weaker ones running systems similar to yours but I don't recommend it.
    How long was it running OK before it happened?
    I am not sure exactly what you mean about pixel shifting. Quote
    the pixels of the text for my icons were shifting as well as the pixels in my desktop
    A screen shot might be helpful.
    BIOS updates aren't going to help here.
    Sounds like something failed or blew...

    My next step (cheapest) would be to remove the card and closely inspect it for any burn marks or anything that looks suspicious, the same goes for the motherboard, then if all looks good, try the card in another PC capable of running it and see if the problem can be duplicated. If the problem follows the card, then it is likely the card. If not, then there is something wrong with your board and/or related peripherals & power.

  • Compositing layers creates pixel shift

    I have been compositing three layers, two are Animation codec QT, one is a TGA still. All are 1920x1080, millions+ and have their alpha channel knocked out. They composite, scale and effect fine. The problem is a 5 to 8 pixel shift on the X-axis that occurs on playback, RAM preview and naturally in the final render. There is no tell-tale filter or action that I can pinpoint that is causing this and I can't reproduce it verbatim every time.
    The layer that shifts is locked and has no keyframes, set to fixed resolution, it is a TGA, 32bit still. The composited layers are 1920x1080 QT 29.97, no interlace. Whole project is set to 29.97 as are the QTs being used.
    Any ideas, suggestions or similar experiences out there?
    I appreciate any advice you can offer.
    thanks
    dey
    G5DP Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    After many tries I have been unable to defeat the problem with the registration moving 1080 images around when compositing layers. The 2K limit is unacceptable. I have yet to upgrade to Motion 3 but I hope this is something they have addressed. If Motion cannot handle 1080 composites without glitches, it is useless to me and I'm sure, many others. Furthermore, if you are rendering for film, forget it. If the almost 2K images wreck the registration, anything larger would blow it up, too.
    I tried fixed resolution, cropping (this would be a band-aid anyway, the whole point of HD is to get the full image, not a percentage) reducing the scale slightly, nothing helps. Previewing at half-rez and then back to full, the image jumps several pixels. I am resorting to using FCP until I install another package of AE or Shake. Very disappointed in Apple. If FCP is HD capable, Motion should be moreso. How can you zoom, rotate or distort a 1080 image if the engine is going to squeeze it and push the center reg around?
    My advice to anyone experiencing this is to move to another solution, I have spent many hours trying to resolve this and am unable. Generally I attribute these things to PICNIC but this is definitely a software issue.
    Dear Apple, please give us Motion HD, and not at a premium. If Apple intends to stay the leader in digital imaging, these "Pro" apps must work together in harmony. The license belongs to Apple, no third-party excuse here.
    Ok, I'm done crying, back to work.

  • When I turn on messages, I can't see my messages.  All I can see is a screen with horizontal lines and a text list of addresses.  How can I get the regular message screen back?

    When I turn on Messages, I can't see my messages.  All I can see is a screen with horizontal lines.  How can I get the regular Messages screen back?

    The same is happening for me. Today I decided to reboot my PC because it was acting up a bit, go figure, and then for some reason at the same time the PC was restarting my macbook froze. I had to do a reboot with the restart button but then all that came up was a gray background and in the middle of the screen was a darker gray folder with a white question mark in the middle of it, blinking. I can't imagine why the restart would've affected my macbook. After finding information on how to fix this, I tried all of the steps that were given about using the mac OS X disk to use the first aid utility to fix it. When using the Disk Utility option whenever I select my hardrive and am in the First Aid tab, the only button I can use is the Verify Disk Permissions. The other three buttons, and namely the most important Repair Disk button, is/are not selectable (grayed out). I then tried resetting the PRAM the way they also said with the command + option + P + R and waited for the second startup sound. After that I gave the Disk Utility a second try, but still nothing. And now if I try to just reinstall the OS completely I can't even select a destination volume on the third step (Select Destination). Apparently this means i'm SOL.

  • PDF Portfolio Navigator with horizontal tab layout

    Hello, Experts
             I am trying to create a PDF Portfolios with horizontal tab layout structure;
             several .NET libraries allowed me to create PDF files with thumbnail layout, but, in order to populate a horizontal tab
             layout, it seems, I would need to create a custom PDF navigator and import it into PDF Portfolio prior to inserting PDF file components ?
            preinstalled navigators look great, but I just need a simple horizontal tab view, where each tab only contains file's name and nothing else;
             buy clicking on each tab - corresponding file would be activated in the viewer
           is there any library of predesigned navigators that I can use ?
            is there any way to extract navigator from one and import it into another PDF portfolio ?
           would I need to use Flash or can this be done via .NET ?

  • Could some one help me with dead pixel on my screen?

    I bought my Thinkpad X61 only a few days back. I opened it and found that there is one dead pixel in the middle of the monitor. Is there any possibilty that Lenovo would fix this? I know that I have to pay 15% of the purchage amount in order to return this peice. I would be really happy to return it without any costs. I talked to the service people. This is the worst service ever I had. No one is replying. One girl told me that the dead pixel goes away in a few days and It would be okey. It looks like if you order a laptop online, they send you laptop with defective pixels.

  • 24' Cinema Display with Dead Pixel

    I just exchanged an LED Cinema Display under AppleCare for the blinking/cord problem. Got the new one set up and see that it has a dead pixel. Is there a fix for these, especially being brand new, or do I have to exchange this one too?
    Running tests it is very visible on a black background, then blue, and slightly on a green background. Red and white backgrounds make it so that the pixel is not a visible problem.

    When I chose my LED Display, I refused two monitors because of dead pixels (green pixels on full filled white background). All of them I tried to order in on-line shops.
    When I found out that Apple use LG panels for the LED Display and I understood that I have to go to the off-line shop and choose the display by myselfl. I met 2 years ago with usual LG TFT displays on my work - they all had dead pixels. (IMHO, LG is not good).
    I came to one shop and there were 2 Apple LED displays - one at the exposition and one in the storehouse. Of course I wanted new one from storehouse and let manager know beforehand about not going to buy if dead pixels. He brought up the display from storehouse, unpacked, plugged and I personally start to check. I changed the background to whole white and pointed into two green pixels. "***", - I said to the manager - couldn't believe that the display costs crazy money (in Ukraine - $1400-1500) and everyone with dead pixels!
    I also have 20" NEC display with perfect IPS panel that I bought 3 years ago for $800. And I should leave the buying of the Apple LED Display and back to my favourite and proven NEC it could be the right decision as you'll see below .
    But the manager offer me to check the exhibition example - he assured me that exhibition one is also absolutely new and stood only 5 days in the shop. We plug it, set the background to white and ... "O, miracle! No dead pixels! After three checked displays! Can't belive!" - and this one was really total perfect.
    So I forgot about to buy new NEC instead of Apple display. Brought Apple LED Display to home, connected to my brand new MBP 13, compared to my old NEC - everythnig was perfect, colors and overall picture are better than old NEC.
    I was happy ... BUT JUST FOR ONE WEEK! It started to blink/flash/blackout - this is the known problem as I found out later: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1902288&tstart=0
    I'm very disappointed because I realize that if I give it for guarantee service and they offer me to change it - I'm sure that I'll got the display with dead pixels and I don't want it! So I hope that it the software/firmware trouble and it'll be fixed in the next MacOS update. If no - it'll be the disaster because I'll not be able to return the display and give my money back from the one hand (under Ukrainian laws the money back period of goods is 14 days), and I don't want to give the guarantee replacement with dead pixels!
    Sorry for large text I had to to unburden myself!

  • My iphone 4s screen turned freaked out before my eyes, changing all different colours, now it is blue and black along the right side with horizontal lines, and is flickering. I DIDN'T DROP IT.

    I was just sitting on the couch scrolling through facebook, I closed out of that and went to open safari, when it spazzed out, for a few mintutes it looked like LSD vision, it was all different colours and flickering the whole time. I turned it off and on again, and plugged it into my computer and now the right side is nearly completely blue, and bleeds to the left side with horizontal lines, and it is still flickering. I just finished paying the **** thing off. I thought I'd get another year out of it. I have taken exemplary care of it and it hasn't left the case since the day I bought it. I haven't dropped it, there was no warning for the screen to start doing this. So my question is, is there an easy fix (I am about to restore and update it, and I already played around with the screen brightness), and if not, am I going to have to pay for the screen to be replaced, because I don't have that kind money.

    Probably sounded funnier in your head.

  • Pdf files print with horizontal and vertical lines

    All of a sudden, today, when I print pdf files, they print with horizontal and vertical lines.  I thaught it was the computer or printer. So I printed from another computer on the network, and printed to a different printer with the same result.  It is not just that one pdf file either, I have tried multiple files.  HELP.  Does anyone have any ideas?

    It is not clear how you are creating the files. It appears that they were created by Distiller from PS files that were created in some way. I also noted that you are using AA8.1.0. You may want to try to update (do all the updates in order) as a possible fix. It may be in the creation process also. Several packages will split large graphics into parts and create the image. I think this is a characteristic of OFFICE 2007 (docx) files - but I am not sure yet. Tell us how you created the files - step by step, including the scan.
    If you have the original documents, why not simply print to the Adobe PDF printer. The result would be smaller and a lot cleaner.

  • Accordion with Vertical Navigation problem

    Following tutorial about phone layout accordion/vertical navigation menu encountering following problem in my original file:
    Create accordion - ok (style to my pref)
    Insert vertical navigation - ok (style to my pref)
    When trying to resize the v/nav to hit the red line on browser edge - both left and right, in preview and in mobile simulator the navigation panels don't expand accordingly to the width of the mobile screen.
    If try with only accordion with no menu all ok. As soon as I add the navigation and try to size to hit the red guides indicating that it will resize with browser size, when preview it doesn't as described above.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    If you DO want the slideshow overlaping the navigation try the below css:
    .sidebar1 {

  • How to create gamma (midtone) changes with help Pixel Bender?

    I'd like to create Level correction with help Pixel Bender. I made correction for each channel (r, g, b), it works. But I don't know how to make correction for midtone for each one.
    Is there some formula or example?
    Unfortunately google hasn't got solution
    I use the next code for each channel, for instance, the red channel will be look like
    dst.r = ((dst.r-red[0])/(red[1]-red[0])-rgb[1]-rgb[0]), where red[n], rgb[n] are the values which can be changed by user

    thanks for your reply! so, if i wanna change gamma for each channel separately i have to change your code so:
    dst.rgb = pow(dst.rgb, float3(red[1], green[1], blue[1])/gammaRGB)
    where red[1], green[1], blue[1] are the parameters of gamma
    i compared the result which i've got and it's different from photoshop's
    so, now my code looks like this
        parameter float3 red
        <
            minValue: float3(0.0,0.0,1.0);
            maxValue: float3(1.0,1.0,1.0);
            defaultValue: float3(0.0,1.0,1.0);
        >;
        parameter float3 green
        <
            minValue: float3(0.0,0.0,0.0);
            maxValue: float3(1.0,1.0,1.0);
            defaultValue: float3(0.0,1.0,1.0);
        >;
        parameter float3 blue
        <
            minValue: float3(0.0,0.0,0.0);
            maxValue: float3(1.0,1.0,1.0);
            defaultValue: float3(0.0,1.0,1.0);
        >;
        parameter float3 RGB
        <
            minValue: float3(0.0,0.0,0.0);
            maxValue: float3(1.0,1.0,1.0);
            defaultValue: float3(0.0,1.0, 1.0);
        >;
        input image4 src;
        output pixel4 dst;
        void
        evaluatePixel()
            pixel4 p = sampleNearest(src,outCoord());
            float rgbdiff = RGB[2] - RGB[0];
            p.r = ( (p.r - red[0])/(red[2] - red[0]) - RGB[0])/rgbdiff;
            p.g = ( (p.g - green[0])/(green[2] - green[0]) - RGB[0])/rgbdiff;
            p.b = ( (p.b - blue[0])/(blue[2] - blue[0]) - RGB[0])/rgbdiff;
            p.rgb = pow(p.rgb, float3(red[1], green[1], blue[1]) / RGB[1]);
            dst = p;
    upd: i tried to apply this filter again and it seems to me it works! Thank you very much for your correct answer. Maybe you know how to use photoshop's 'output panel', this parameter increases/decreases values of channel. Photoshop has this parameter in the bottom of level's panel.
