Account being hit during Milestone billing
We have setup billing plan for some contracts .We receive downpayment for the entire amount at the start of the of the contract. so we invoice the customer for the entire amount.
*Subsequently when the milestomes are reached, and the contract invoice is generated, it is hitting the customer account again. So AR is getting doubled?
How/where can I change the settings so that at the time of subsequent milestone reached, we can debit a GL account rather than the customer?

Hi,
During milestone billing of a customer project, my client wants to track commission for engineers doing work on a project
but i'm not sure how to go about it. This is my scenario:
I have a fixed-price project of $200
The work is allocated to different engineers like so:
Engineer A is allocated 20% of the work on the project.... $200
Engineer B is allocated 30% of the work on the project .... $300
Engineer C is allocated 50% of the work on the project .... $500
The milestone billing is like so:
Bill the customer 25% during Phase 1 of the project (before any actual work is done)....$250
Bill the customer 50% during Phase 2 of the project ....$500
Bill the customer 25% during Phase 3 (final phase) of the project ...$250
During the lifetime of the project, the customer may get billed BEFORE any work has been done.
Or vice versa, the engineer may have done the work but my client hasn't billed the customer for that work.
However , if the engineer has done work for a particular month, my client needs to give him credit for the work that he has done (i.e. give him commission and pay him for it) EVEN if my client hasn't billed the customer for that work.
ex:
Month Bill customer Allocated work (to Engineers)
June $250 (Phase 1) Engineer A does 20% of work....$200
July $500 (Phase 2) Engineer B does 30% of work....$300
August no billing Engineer C does 50% of work ......$500
September $250 (Phase 3) no work to be done (project already finished)
total $1000 $1000
The problem is that i can only calculate the commission for an engineer during billing. BUT what happens when i haven't
billed the customer yet? I still want to give Engineer C credit for the work that he has done in August so that I can pay
him for his August work.

Price Difference Account being hit while making AP credit Memo
Hello Experts,
Price Difference Account is being hit while creating AP Credit Memo. I am creating an independent AP Credit Memo (i.e. without any base document). After posting A/P Credit Memo when I look at the Journal Entry it shows 99.43% of amount goes to Price Difference Account and the rest 0.57% goes to Stock account.
Help required please.

This entry may have resulted because once you created the GRPO say for item A, the stock would have been consumed in production. And once you created Invoice and after that when you created credit memo, the system could not find the stock so it posted the difference in price difference account. Please run inventory posting list of the items in grpo to check the same.

Account determination error during intercompany billing invoice

I tried to release to accounting but didn't help.

When I click on the Item no., it shows as 'No G/L account found in KOFI' & messege 121.
In VKOA, there are few tables but I am not sure how & what to compare between these two.

Now i have got an unpanned delivery cost of Rs 500. When I am posting this price i detailed tab following entries occur ( simulate)

Here at the time of booking the invoice the stock of mat B is less than that in invoice . Also .... thet total of mat A Inv a/c & Pr diff a/c is 500/- that is total unpalnned del cost.

In Milestone billing WBS elet field not visible in Account assignment tab
Hi Gurus,
Could you pls let me know how to make WBS element field to display in Account assignment tab (Item details of Sales order).
During Milestone billing in Billing plan tab WBS element is getting displayed where in for Account assignment tab it is not.
But for TAD (Service) and TAX(non stock) this WBS element field is viewable in Account assignment tab.
Pls suggest me if any transaction variants are required for this or not? Or else pls provide solution to sort out this issue.

but when i do invoice, the invoice generated without accounting document, the error for posting status is ' Error in Accounting Interface.'

No accounting document generated during billing
Hi,
I am getting the error : No Accounting document generated during billing. When I went thru the steps from Envt ---> Acc.determ.analysis- -> Revenue accounts, I found that Acct Assignment group has 'Exclamation' mark.
Suggest a way how to resolve it.

Please check in the Tcode VKOA, the account assignment is complete for the ERL key...This can be dependant on the following 3 main combinations.
1. customer group, material group and accountkey
2. customer group and accountkey
3. material group and accountkey

Milestone Billing FI Configuration (Account Assignment)
Dear All,
I am configuring milestone billing is system. Upill i had defined a milestone billing type and all the configuration realted to milestone billing date and date categories is done
I have also defined the condition type AZWR in my pricing prcoedure with routines (2 and 48)
Q1) Now I defined my pricing procedure as follows
Step 10 Pr00 ERL
Step 20 MWST 15% of step 10 MWS
Step 30 AZWR ERL
Now i think i am doing wrong by assigning the same account key ERL for both Price (PR00) and AZWR.
Q2) When i m posting the invoice now the system is giving an update error message that
Error Info... FI 661: Maintain default revenue element in controlling area OGC
I had made the assignment in Revenue Account Determination
Should i make the assignment in Revenue Recognition as well.
Kindly help me on this GURUS i am totally confused

But the error is related to controlling . Just go to OKKP and check wheather you have checked in the controlling area properly or not
make the following down payment configurations
item category group - 0005
item category - TAO
for this TAO item category a billing plan 01 (milestone billing plan -01) will be assigned and its billing relevance should be I which is order related billing .
billing doc type - FAZ
cancellation billing doc type - FAS
maintain a condition type AZWR which is down payment settlement , it has requirement as 2 and calc type as 48 acct key as ERL
Now when you enter a material in line item 10 and go to item data , you can see the billing plan tab.
now go to billing plan tab and enter the start date and enter the dates on which billing has to be done and then in billing request enter 0009 which is for down payment.once u press enter automatically it all the dates get blocked and billing request by default you get as 1 , that you change it to 4 or 5 . 4 is for down payment at value basis and 5 is for down payment at percentage basis. and beside that there will be a billing type .assign billing doc type as FAZ. to all dates
check the copying requirements are there at VTFA as 20 and for item category TAO copying requirements 23 is maintained or not
now do the cycle OR - LF - FAZ (billing doc type)

Yep I was hit by the Towson hack. One day I got notice I had downloaded some game I've never heard of called Kingdom Quest and immediately I was being hit by $20 charges I wasn't making. Now my problem is that I don't want to buy anything from ITunes ever again but at the same time I have apps I paid good money for that I'd like to at least update. So how do I reactivate my account? I don't mind putting in a $15 Itunes gift card if it will update my apps I've already purchased.

Milestone Billing - Partial Invoice, Proportional Settlement
Can anyone advice the following statement from SAP documents? This is pertaining to milestone billing.
During partial invoicing, the amount of the down payment to be cleared can be changed (by changing the amount for condition type AZWR on the pricing screen for the item).
While doing the partial invoicing 'F2' after the inital downpayment request 'FAZ', i did not see condition 'AZWR' being proposed for me to make changes. Is there something i missing? Is the proportional settlement of downpayment done in SD billing?

Just make sure you configure the condition type AZWR in your pricing procedure, to let you change the downpayment during partial invoicing.

I have an ipad&iPhone but used the same iCloud account for both during setup.i now have ran out of iCloud storage! If I delete the account from iPhone will I lose the apps from my ipad?
And will new account that i set up on iPhone give me 5gb storage? I assume its not as easy it sounds, it never is!
It is the camera roll on both devices that are using the storage up, and I know I can transfer the photos to a hard copy, which I will but if I can get 5gb from two separate iCloud accounts then that's the route I will take!

I assume that the same account is required on both devices (it would be rather awkward otherwise) and that most of your space is consumed by back up.
You will need to buy more storage or back up to iTunes instead of iCloud.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable. -

Milestone billing means distributing the total amount to be billed over multiple billing
dates in the billing plan.
As each milestone is successfully reached, the customer is billed either a percentage of
the entire project cost or simply a pre-defined amount.
During sales order processing, the system determines from the item category whether a
billing plan is required and, if so, which type of plan
The type of billing plan that is determined at this point is set up in Customizing and
cannot be changed in the sales document.
Billing plans for periodic billing and milestone billing plans for project-related milestone
billing have different overview screens so that you can enter data relevant to your
processing.
For example, for milestone billing, you must be able to enter data to identify the
individual milestones.

Milestone billing is typically used for billing projects, such as plant engineering and
construction projects. Such projects often include a series of milestones that mark the
completion of different stages of the work. In the SAP R/3 System, milestones are defined
in a network along with planned and actual dates for the completion of work. The milestones
are also assigned to the billing dates in the billing plan.
Each milestone-related billing date is blocked for processing until the Project System
confirms that the milestone is completed.
Delivery-relevant order items for which a milestone billing plan applies are billed on the
basis of the requested delivery quantity and not on the total of the confirmed quantities.
The connection between the project and the sales document item is made in the individual
schedule lines of the item. Each schedule item can be assigned to a network in a project.
To display the project-related data for a schedule line, proceed as follows:
In one of the overview screens of the sales document, select
1. Item -> Schedule lines.
2. Mark the schedule line and select Procurement details.
The following figure shows an example of milestone billing where only the Contract have
been billed :

Down Payment Processing in Milestone billing
I have created sales order that does milestone billing. The down payment is 10 % of amount - Billing type FAZ and condition type AZWR is included in Pricing Procedure and ERL is asigned.
I also have done all the required settings from the help file at:

But the sales order still says G/L account not found and not saving. Is the G/L account need to found at sales order itself ? If so, where in sales oredr type I have to assigne account determination like KOFI00 etc ? Can any explain this ?
Does the down payment in sales order do the account determination to find G/L account as in case of regeualr billing docs ?The following Customizing settings have to be made for down payment processing:
Settings for the billing plan - To activate the billing plan function, maintain the materials, for which you wish to process down payments, with item category group 0005 (milestone billing). This gives the item type TAO via item type determination. The item type TAO calls up the billing plan function.
You need to implement the following activities in the billing plan for down payments:
Maintain deadline category - This determines the billing rule (percentage or value down payment) for the down payment request. The system assigns billing type FAZ (payment request) defined in the standard system with billing category P. (For the billing type FAZ there is the cancellation billing document type FAS in the standard system).
Maintain the deadline proposal - Use the down payments that are due for the proposed deadlines.
Maintaining a Pricing Procedure with the Condition Type AZWR:
In the standard system the condition type AZWR is delivered for the down payment value already provided but which has not yet been calculated. You must include this condition type in the relevant pricing procedure before output tax.
Enter condition 2 (item with pricing) and the calculation formula 48 (down payment clearing value must not be bigger than the item value) for the condition type AZWR.
Before the condition AZWR you can create a subtotal with the base value calculation formula 2 (net value). If the condition AZWR is changed manually, you can get information on the original system proposal from the subtotal.
Maintain the printing indicator - The pricing procedure can not be marked as a transaction-specific pricing procedure (field Spec.proc.) The condition type AZWR has the calculation type B (fixed amount) and the condition category E (down payment request / clearing).
Maintaining the Billing Document - In the standard system there is the billing type FAZ (down payment request) and the billing type FAS for canceling . The down payment is controlled using the billing category P of the billing type. A billing type becomes a down payment request when the billing category P is assigned. You have to maintain blocking reason 02 (complete confirmation missing) for the billing documents and assign it to billing type FAZ.
Copying control - Copying requirement 20 must be entered in copying control at item level for the down payment request. In the standard system the order type TA for copying control is set up according to the billing type FAZ for the item category TAO.
Copying requirement 23 must be entered in copying control at item level for down payment clearing. In the standard system the order type TA for copying control is set up according to the billing type F2 for the item category TAO.
Financial Accounting settings - A prerequisite for down payment processing is that the account is assigned to the underlying sales document. To do this, change the field status settings in Customizing as follows:
Set reconciliation accounts (transaction OBXR) - For the `received down payments' and `down payment requests' from
the G/L accounts you have selected, you should assign the field status definition G031.
Maintain accounting configuration (transaction OBXB) - For the down payments (posting key ANZ in the standard system) and the output tax clearing (posting key MVA in the standard system), you must maintain the posting key.
You must also carry out a G/L account number assignment for the tax account.
Maintain the posting key (transaction OB41) - For posting key 19, set the sales order as an optional field !!!
Maintain the field status definition (transaction OB14) - For field status variant 0001, field status group G031, set the
sales order as an optional field !!!
Assign the company code to the field status variants (transaction OBC5)
By useing tcode---> VKOA assing the G/L accounts for account deteramination
