Accrual postings in controlling

Hi All,
We are using CO accrual cycle by percentage method
system is giving errors when we are running TCODE KSA8
No credit object is defined or credit cost element is not valid on the date, error processing the cost center etc.
We are on ECC 6.0 EHP4
We have maintained all the master data required.
Thanks, Kishore

HI,
There are following advantages.
1. You can augment the percentage whenever you want in the cost sheet.
2. Great reporting through offsetting CO object (mostly an internal order)
3. No need to spare extra time in Assessment, Distribution etc. of this cost..

  • Accrual postings open item management

    Dear all,
When I try to make accrual postings to  an account with open item management I receive the following error message:
"Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted".
I have found some old notes regarding this problem, but none of them are usable for release 6.04.
I need this account to be processed with open item management. How can I fix this problem?

    Hi,
Did you find an issue of your problem?
We have the same problem with Accrual postings and we don't use foreign currency.

    Hi Gurus,
Is it ok to execute the reversal of accrual postings even if we haven't performed yet the year end procedure of balance carry forward (AP,AR,GL) to 2011?  Kindly advise.
    Thanks,
    Ellicec

    Dear Eli
you can reverse accrual entries before balance carriforward and after balance carriforward...
but it is always advisable to perform this activity once you have carriforwarded all yor balances to nex FY to be at safer side.

    Hi
If it is related to cost center statistical posting then would suggest you to check T.Code KSB1 where you have to select 'Value Type' in the column layout and filter on Value Type '11'
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Following write up is going to help you.
    Accrual Types
    Definition
The accrual type controls the calculation and posting of accruals according to different business views. It defines how the accruals are calculated and posted.
The accrual type sorts the accruals, for example, by:
    • Costs
    • Revenues
    • Receivables
    Use
You use the accrual type to control which types of posting are performed for an accrual item. You can assign all postings defined to an accrual type, or only individual postings:
    • Opening posting
The entire amount to be accrued is posted as a balance posting. Account determination is normally set so that the entire amount to be accrued is posted to an accruals account.
    • Periodic posting
The total amount to be accrued is split over the individual periods according to the accrual method concerned. When you perform an accrual run in a period, the accrual amount for that period is posted. Account determination is normally set so that the periodic postings are from the accruals account to a profit and loss account.
    • Closing posting
A closing posting only occurs when you deactivate an accrual object prematurely. The amount that has not been accrued by the time of the premature deactivation is posted as the deactivation amount.
    Structure
    The following accrual types exist:
    • Simple accrual type
With this accrual type, you define the view under which the accruals are made, and which postings are performed.
    • Derived accrual type
This accrual type is derived from other accrual types, for example, as the total or difference from other accrual types. You define a derived accrual type in Customizing for Financial Accounting under Financial Accounting Global Settings ® Accrual Engine ® Basic Settings ® Accrual Types ® Derived Accrual Types

  • REEXACRCARRYFORWARD Accrual carry forward for RE-FX Module

    Hi,
I have the RE-FX accruals engine set up and running successfully, however am uncertain what the transaction REEXACRCARRYFORWARD transaction does.
I do note that in the SAP service market place SAP note 896879 makes mention that this transaction "In the case of cross-fiscal year periods, a balance carryforward must be carried out in the accruals engine for the change of the fiscal year".
When executing this transaction does it perform any system update however, such as create an FI document, or update the GL balance carry forward in transaction FS10N that you would normally see when performing a balance carry forward in FI? I have performed a number of tests that prove so far that this neither of these occur.
Is this transaction simply a financial year end task that allows the RE Accrual Engine to be able to be executed in the new Financial Year, and that no actual system updates of data occur in system at all? If so then what purpose does this transaction serve?
I have attached a document that details my testing and furhter explanation of this question.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you can assist me in understanding what this transaction actually does.
    Thanks,
    Glen Stephenson

    Dear Glen Stephenson.
As you maybe know.., When you try to use the "RE Accrual Engine",  you can consider the IMG of
    "Open Fiscal Year for Accrual Postings" as below ;
(Go to RECACUST >> Accounting > Accrual/Deferral >Basic Settings>Open Fiscal Year for Accrual Postings)
In this IMG, you can define the fiscal years are to be open for changes to accrual objects and for accrual postings.
    - Current fiscal year
The system finds the current fiscal year automatically if the balance has been carried forward in
the Accrual Engine. Periodic accrual postings can only be made in the current fiscal year or in
previous years, but not in future fiscal years.

  • Rebate Agreement manual accruals not updating in agreement

    Hello,
I am configuring extended rebate agreements and am working with the MANUAL ACCRUAL functionality.
I can create a manual accrual from the agreement and sales order type B4 is created and billed as type B4.  I can see the impact correctly to the G/L and provisional accounts.  When i go back to the agreement in VBO2, I DO NOT see any error messages saying the agreement is not up to date, but i also don't see the accrual increase under the Sales Volume or Verification views.
I only see billing document that came through regular customer invoices where i accrued.  If i look under Rebate Payments menu ---> Rebate Documents, i see the manual accrual documents.  My question is...if i accrued 500$ through regular invoicing...and then we do a manual accrual for addition 200$, where do i see a total accrual of 700$?  All i seeunder verification is the original 500$?  Is this just standard behavior?
Note:  i've checked agreement config and manual accruals are checked on...info structures set to "1 Syncronous Updating" and agreement is up to date per VBOF.
    Regards

    Hi Neeraj,
When you post manual accruals via a billing document which is posted in FI, the table S060 will be updated with the amount for the condition record (field S060-RUWRT) this field holds a total value of accruals this can include manual accruals, postings form relevant billing document lines and accruals that were reversed via a partial payment. When the final settlement is carried out all of these are calculated and the accruals condition in the final settlement will reverse completely all accruals related to an agreement at that time.
However, Rebate payments have to be made to a customer based on REAL sales volumes. If there is no sales volume then no payment would be due.
    Regards,
    Raghavendra

  • Updating accrual value via extended rebate processing

We have a requirement to use scaling conditions for a customer's rebates.
Scaling will be used to accrue against billing documents.
The rebate will be reviewed weekly, and there will be weekly settlement. This I believe is standard and simple to achieve.
The one issue I can see with the client's requirements is that, during the weekly settlement process, the client requires the settlement not to post a credit entry to the customer but to just update the accrual postings.
    Example.
Scale 1 - 1% rebate on first 100k of turnover per week.
2 - 2% rebate on turnover upto 250k per week.
So if a customer buys 101k in a week, the accrual would be 1.02k as standard. However the client wants the rebate to be adjusted to 2.02k. I believe that by doing a weekly settlement, the rebate can work that out, and would produce a credit to the custmoer for 2.02k.
What my client wants, is for the amount accrued to increase from 1.02K to 2.02K and NOT post to the customer.
    Is this possible?
If so, how is this done - via pricing conditions and values in VKOA?

    Hi Mark,
I'm not sure, but I understand that you want to change the value of condition while you are running it. Check BADI SD_ENH_REBATES, method V13A_VERIFICATION, I see that you can change I_E_KONP. I am never use it, only I know it, so I don't tell you what kind of troubles you can find.
    I hope this helps you
    Regards
    Eduardo

  • Rebate accruals not posted for returns

    Hai Guys,
I have created a rebate and the accruals postings are happening fine.
When I am making the returns, the system is not reducing the accruals. I checked the 'Condition Type' for Provision for Correction - it is left blank so that automatic correction takes place.
I can't figure out where the things are going wrong. Can somebody help me in this regards.
    Regards,
    Maheshwaran. I

    Dear krishna
i tried your scenario--so after changing the validity for my Material rebate agreement type--i ran VBOF(SDBONT06)--so system has shown the updated billing doc with rebate which was not having any rebate condition earlier.
Have you tried by retrieving all the billing docs created after service render date of 28th Feb14.
Please take all the billing docs created after this date from VBRK table and you check some random billings docs whether rebate condition type is active with condition record or not.
(other wise you try with by executing condition record numbers in KONV(doc condition number--then followed by VBRK)
    pl update us..

  • Controlling area currency - urgent

    Hi,
In a project we are using Controlling Area Currency as INR. As our group company is europe based they want us to change to EUR. We are also using PCA where currency is INR. I want to know the pros and cons of changing the same to EUR from INR.
    Bye,
    Ramesh

    Hello
Check this if it could help you
When you create a controlling area, you specify whether the controlling area currency may differ from the company code currency, and which particular currency is to be the controlling area currency.
You can use the company code currency or the currency of a different organizational unit recorded as a parallel currency in the company code. You can also use a separate controlling area currency not dependent on the company code currency.
Cross-company code cost accounting can therefore be performed for company codes that use values recorded in different currencies. SAP recommends that you specify a consistent parallel currency for the company codes, and use this as the controlling area currency. In this case, postings in Controlling are made that are relevant for Accounting.
The following currencies are valid in Controlling:
    · Controlling area currency
The system uses this currency for cost accounting. This currency is set up when you create the controlling area. It is based on the assignment control indicator and the currency type.
(see:  Specifying Controlling Area Currency )
    · Object currency
Each object in Controlling, such as cost center or internal order, may use a separate currency specified in its master data. When you create an object in CO, the SAP system defaults the currency of the company code to which the object is assigned as the object currency. You can specify a different object currency only if the controlling area currency is the same as the company code currency. There is an object currency for the sender as well as one for the receiver.
    · Transaction currency
Documents in Controlling are posted in the transaction currency. The transaction currency can differ from the controlling area currency and the object currency. The system automatically converts the values to the controlling area currency at the exchange rate specified.
The system always translates actual data with the average rate (exchange rate type M).
You store the exchange rate type for each currency. You can specify a different exchange rate type for planning data in the version.
All three currencies are saved in the totals records and the line items. This enables you to use the different currencies for evaluations in the information system. This is only possible if you specified that all currencies should be updated for the given controlling area (see: Maintain Controlling Area).
The transaction currency is USD, the controlling area currency is EUR, and the object currency is SFR (Swiss francs). The system converts the amounts as follows:
1.) From transaction currency to controlling area currency (USD ® EUR)
2.) From controlling area currency to object currency (EUR ® SFR)
The following additional currencies may also appear as controlling area currencies in Controlling if you use cross-company code cost controlling:
    Local Currency:
Company code currency (country currency) used for local ledgers in external accounting.
For each company code you can specify one or two parallel currencies (= second and third local currencies) which are stored in the documents and updated parallel to the local currency in the general ledger.
    Group Currency:
Currency in which the group balance sheet is displayed.
You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code.
    Hard Currency:
Secondary currency for countries with high inflation. You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code. You need to specify the hard currency in the detail screen for the corresponding country.
    Index-Based Currency:
Country-specific, fictitious currency stipulated in certain countries with high inflation for tax returns. You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code. You need to specify the index-based currency in the detail screen for the corresponding country.
    Global Company Currency:
Currency used in a corporate group. In the CO application component you can create companies to represent divisions, regions, or product groups.
You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code. You need to store the global company currency in the detail screen for the corresponding company.
For more information on defining parallel currencies, see Customizing under Financial Accounting ® FI Global Settings ® Company Code ® Parallel Currencies ® Defining additional local currencies.

  • Accrual Reversal

    Friends,
Apart from FBS1 & F.81 any other way to post the Accural and Reversal entreis, because our user feel difficult to use the FBS1 TC For posting the Accural Entry, Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    BK

FBS1 is the only T Code provided by SAP to post accruals. As fast entry is not available in this T Code users find it difficult to go screen by screen to post accruals. It is advised to create a BDC script so that user can upload from an Excel sheet. Other option is to use FB50 screen to post accruals using a specific Document type but in this option you won't find the fields 'reversal date' and 'reversal reason'. You can reverse the accruals posted by FB50 using T Code F.80. In the selection screen user can select the Document type meant for accrual postings and posting dates.
Hope this gives you some flexibility to support your case.

  • Unable to reverse interest accrual in tbb5 - message flows does not exist

    Hi All,
for few particular company codes, i am unable to see any flows which were posted earlier using tbb4 while executing tbb5. hence i am unable to reverse those flows. Is there any place wherein we activate update type for reversal company code wise.

    Hi,
first of all I would propose to check with the help of TPM20, using as selection criteria 'Reversed Business Transactions' to see whether there were some reversals, relevant to your accounting entries observed.
    regarding your mentioned transactions:
      TBB4 is used for accrual (which could be imediately reset next business day - depends on accrual procedure, specified in Customizing -> SPRO -> ... -> TRM -> Transaction manager -> General settings -> Accounting -> Accrual/Deferral -> Money Market: Define Accrual/Deferral -> choose required Flow type, for which accrual is calculated and posted), so depending on the definition you will result in 1 (accrual) or 2 (accrual and reset of accrual) postings;
TBB5 would reverse the accrual postings, generated by TBB4 - the same as above, 1 or 2 postings, just opposite to previous ones.
I'm not pretty sure about your scenario, however if we talk about accrual TBB4 and possible reverse TBB5 due to some errors (e.g. nominal interest was wrong), then from process point of view once you executed reverse it is not possible to reverse TBB5. What you can do is just run accrual again, after inputs (nominal amount, interest rate, date of running accrual, etc.) for accrual are corrected.
So, if some doubts for you still exists, please provide your scenario and requirements in more details. Otherwise, I hope this will help you.
    Rgds,
    Renatas

  • Transport request for Set Control Parameters for Actual Data.

    Hi Viewers,
I am unable to create the transport request for the below settings
Controlling->Profit Center Accounting->Basic Settings->Controlling Area Settings->Activate Direct Postings->Set Control Parameters for Actual Data.
Is it possible to move the request through transport request or do we need to create the settings directly in the target system.
    Thanks
    Aswin.

    Hi,
Please read the IMG help at the given path.  There are certain profit center accounting settings which cannot be transported directly from the same path, but there is another node in SPRO path for doing this.  If possible I will try to locate the path but I am not sure I can post it immediately as I am not having system handy.
    thanks,
