ACR 8.7 is out, Supporting 7D II

Just a public service announcement for those with the 7D2.
ACR 8.7 just came out, with 7D2 support as well as some other cameras and lenses, for CS6 and CC.  It also adds UHD "support" via the 200% UI, for CC only.

Oh yeah, Lightroom 5.7 is out too, with 7dII support.

  • Is analog audio out supported using the new lightning cable adapters ?

Is analog audio out supported using the new lightning cable adapters ?

Yes.  Both adapters (the .2m adapter and small adapter with no cable) have built in DACs just for that purpose.
For more information, read this story.  It's a little long but it will explain in further detail:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/2012137/hands-on-with-apples-lightning-to-30-pin -adapters.html
I personally have a speaker dock thing from iHome.  It uses analog audio.  I have tried it with both types of adapters and it works perfectly.

  • Will there be Future iPhone 5 "Ipod Out" support? Adapter perhaps?

I have pre-ordered an iPhone 5, but I' have realised that it wont work with my car head unit - which cost nearly £2000 and was bought specifically to control, and display song information from my iPhone.
It has been absolutely brilliant.  Being able to control tracks from my steering wheel, seeing the artwork on the screen and the track name and artist.  It made people go "wow".
Unfortunately, the Ipod Out feature that allows control of the iphone from the steering wheel appears not to be supported due to the new lightning connector, nor does the 30pin adapter correct this.
I am now faced with the odd possiblity of having to sell my iPhone 5 when I get it, and go back to a 4S, as it literally is the most important way, as a huge fan of music whilst driving, in which I use my iPhone day to day.
I really really hope that Apple have a way to add "Ipod Out" support to the iPhone 5, so that it can again be controlled via a car's steering wheel.
Cutting out a feature that helps prevent distractions, accidents, even deaths is wrong.
I will happily pay whatever Apple wants for the adapter in future, but I need to know its possible, otherwise I will have to go back to a 4S, as I cant be rooting in my glovebox to change iphone tracks.
Does anyone know if Apple will be creating a future adapter that supports iPod Out, to bring safety back to the millions of cars that currently can control iphones and ipods through the steering wheel?
It is an offence in the United Kingdom to interact with a mobile device in a car, even if its texting, or changing ipod tracks.  For UK iPhone owners - Ipod Out is a legal requirement to use the ipod in the car.  Please Apple, dont go backwards on car safety, I plead with you!
    Thankls

I searched all over to try and find an answer to this...
this is what I found in macworld.
"As with the 30-pin connector, the Lightning connector supports video output; Apple told Macworld that Lightning-to-HDMI and Lightning-to-VGA cables will be available “in the coming months.”"
    found from: http://www.macworld.com/article/1168555/what_apples_new_lightning_connector_mean s_for_you.html
    also from: http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/iphone-5-lightning-connector-does-support-vid eo-output-hdmi-and-vga-cables-incoming
From that I can only assume that the CONNECTOR does support iPod out, just not the adapter.
I currently have a Pioneer AVIC-Z130bt and have the same issue at hand.
So the real question is, how soon will pioneer be able to research and engineer a cable that goes from the lightning port to our radios?
Also, I wonder, if I were to take the lightning cable that came with the iphone, plug it into the usb port that the iphone cable plugs into, then take a male-male headphone cable and plug it into the other female cable attached, would THAT work? Just wondering... I doubt it, but what if...
    Also found here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-50-iphone-5-what-we-know-so-far/
"From what we currently understand, the iPhone 5, with the 30 pin adapter and the current cable from pioneer:
    Will support audio iPod output.
Will support audio out apps (like Pandora)
Might support controls (thumb up, thumb down, next, etc)
Will NOT support video iPod, video app, or Enhanced App Radio functions."

  • ZEN 32GB line out support?

Does the ZEN 32GB model have line-out support for listening through a car stereo via the 3.5 mm aux input jack?
How about for the X-Fi or X-Fi2 models?

If your car stereo has an AUX input jack like you have described all you need is the cable to connect it. It plugs into the headphone jack. ANY player that has a headphone jack can be used on a car stereo with a connection like that. http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimit...=2667376&sr=-3 This is what the cable looks like price range varies from about $5USD - $5USD

It seems they deleted my post from discussions. Thanks.

  • Why no digital out support with DVD aud

    Hi,
I just installed my DVD dri've this week and was excited to try the DVD audio sampler disk I got with my Audigy2 platinum.
After I inserted the DVD audio disk, I got the following message, in a pop up...
" Digital output or recording is not supported when playing back DVD-Audio.
Please ensure that your audio outputs (lineouts) are connected to the analog inputs ouf your speaker system or receiver. Please also ensure that you have selected the correct speaker configuration. "
I am disappointed that I cannot send my optical out signal to my reciever. One of the main reasons I got this card was to use one cable (optical) to my receiver to help reduce the rats nest of wire. and I was wondering if I purchased digital speakers would I be unable to hear DVD audio on them?
My final question is why cant I get a digital output from the ultimate digital music format?
    Curious, M

mmcelarn wrote:thanks for the feedback. so I wouldnt be able to hear DVD-A music via digital speakers?
No - not unless they have analog inputs also.
It's ironic that as tech advances the resolution of music, the formats being most widely adopted by the people are regressing!
I agree! Recording companies have their panties in such a wad over, heaven forbid, someone making a copy, that it keeps the music from being the best it can be! Seems like there is always a trade-off when music formats get better. Such as CD and vinyl - we traded quality for convienience. And, I admit, I like my MLP 5. surround sound so much that I'll give up a digital connection. I grew up in the baby boomer concert generation and NOTHING beats reliving the experience!. Pop Yes, Fragile in the player and close my eyes and I'm 8 again! As you can see, I'm a huge DVD-A fan!
BTW, you probably won't be rushing out to buy the Meridian. They're $7,000 (USD)!!!

  • Video out supported?

Does the new nano support video out? If so, how?

So it's essentially video out with either the $50 dock connector-to-composite out cable, or the $50 dock connector-to-component cable? IOW, no SVHS out option (like the video out on earlier models and the older docks) -- and no HDMI option rather than the bulk of a 5-plug (3 video, 2 audio) component setup?
The video out is a nice feature of the iPod, but it kinda chaffs how you have to pay $50 for the cable now, when the 4th Gen classic iPod could output video from the headphone jack with a $3 third-party cable. It's worst still how you can get composite OR SVHS out from a Mac with a $20 adapter -- http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9267G/A -- but just the cable for the iPod costs you $50! I might pay $20 for a similar iPod composite/SVHS adapter, or maybe $50 for something high-tech, latest-and-greatest like a iPod to HDMI adapter -- but $50 for just a low quality composite out, or $50 for a sub-optimal bulky 5-plug component connection, just seems nuts.
At any rate, has anyone actually compared the composite vs. component output? Since it's 640x480 max resolution video (i.e. no HD), does the bulkier component output buy you any serious extra quality?

  • Does SAP/BusinessObjects have a recommended way to programmatically invoke reports that they will not phase out support for?

Is there a preferred way to invoke and print a report? Is there a REST based web API that we can use versus the traditional sdk??

To add a bit of info from the SAP side
I don't think the RESTful web services are planned to work with "standard" Crystal Reports. E.g.; CR for Enterprise only. Not sure why, though lately there has been a lot of smoke coming out of the CR development room so this may change.
Re. Web Services Consumer SDK. The Report Engine has essentially been removed from this, thus the RESTful for WEBI to replace that loss. Other than that, I do not see any changes to that SDK (other than improvements and updates).
To Shaheen; If you would like links to resources re SDKs, etc., let me know which SDK and I'll see what I can chase down for us.

  • Will the T4i AV out support monitoring audio as a movie is being shot?

I'm using a T4i to shoot videos and wonder if the AV out will support monitoring the audio as it's being recorded by pluging in a head phone with correct plugs/adaptors, etc.?

    Hi Mikezerby,
The AV Out terminal is not designed to allow audio monitoring during a movie shoot.

  • Dosemu: no a.out support but no a.out with kernel

Allrighty I've been itching to play some Dark Sun and Dungeon Hack, figured I'd give dosemu a shot for this.  My kernel only has ELF support.  Upon compiling of dosemu I get the message
< edit > Forgot another thing... this error happens within the install script, appears to be while autconf is running < /edit >
Sorry, a.out system detected, but we do no longer support it
Here's part of my kernel config to show it is indeed ELF:
    CONFIG_KCORE_ELF=y
    # CONFIG_KCORE_AOUT is not set
    # CONFIG_BINFMT_AOUT is not set
    CONFIG_BINFMT_ELF=y
    # CONFIG_BINFMT_ELF_AOUT is not set
    # CONFIG_BINFMT_MISC is not set
    Any ideas?

I reproduced the error here, and it's based on a braindamaged configure script. Yes, we probably already guessed that much.
Well, it basically greps for "__ELF__" in the gcc spec file which is displayed in the gcc -v version string information block, and obviously gcc3.3 doesn't think that's to be included in the spec file anymore. That's what you get when using non-documented methods of checking for ELF support.
    Workaround?
Hack the file base-configure file at line 2855ff and comment out the whole "else" block except for the setting of ELF="ELF=1". This will bypass this stupid check entirely.
Unfortunately it still won't compile since, of course, multi-line literals are used across the code. Gnaha!
    Solution?
Dump version 1.0.2 and see if you're better off with the development version. This one is just not up to date anymore. Version 1.1.5 from http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/source … -1.1.5.tgz compiles just fine here, even though they use a non-standard way of configuring the options. Oh well, still simple enough to figure out.
    HTH,
      Dennis

  • Checking out support files

I can check out the asp page but support files don't check
out with it. Any thoughts? Just upgraded to 7.0.1

Are the files referenced in the ASP or in the HTML? I don't
think files referenced in the ASP will be identified by the
    app.

  • IOS Firmware 4.0 breaks Air Video TV Out support.

All is explained in the title!
I used to watch videos from iPhone applications on my TV (by using the official APPLE cable for my IPhone 3GS) and now, all these kind of applications don't work with the upgrade iOS4.0 !!!!
Example of the main applications I use:
    Air Video
    Share Player
That's very bad news. Air Video has become one of the main programs I use on my Iphone 3GS.
it is nonsense to suggest the AppStore applications that can not do what the description says.
Will Apple allow it to use the TV out to third-party applications with the iOS 4.0?
Otherwise, will Apple reimburse users who purchased these kind of applications?
How will Apple respond to complaints from its customers?
I've always been a great fan of Apple products but now I think Apple is not fair with its customers and developers. I hope this feature will be fixed soon!
    Message was edited by: AppleIdea

Same to me here. Would like to have this issue fixed since i spent lots of money buying the dock and the original cables. Won't there be any possible solution for developers to use the TV out? It even doesn't work anymore out of Safari watching a live stream. I am very annoyed by that!

  • Removing PS5 & ACR 6.1 rips out profiles from LR2 & LR3B2

    Hello,
This is my first post here although I do read the forums from time to time. Unfortunately I have a rather serious problem.
I installed the ARC 6.1 final update over the Release Candidate (with some difficulty - I had to run the install twice) and then I did the Bridge upgrade.
However by the time it was all working again I found that my Photoshop Extended 5 demo had expired so I removed it (it would have been nice to have done a demo of the "final" product).
I fired up Lightroom 2.7 today and found that all of the non-beta profiles from Adobe had been removed when I removed Photoshop. I tried the LR 3 Beta 2 and found the same thing. The only profiles left are profiles that I installed myself and the beta profiles from Adobe.
Is there a way that I can re-install these profiles without having to re-install Lightroom too?
    Thanks.

You can download and install DNG Converter to get all the 6.1 profiles back on your system:

    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4723
