Acrobat 9 Pro form distribution problem (Enhanced Security?)

I am trying to distribute an Acrobat Pro form to several individuals who happen to be listed in my Outlook 2003 Address Book. When I type an email address into the "To" section of the form distribution pane, Acrobat automatically converts the email address to the recipient's name, which I can only assume is being accessed throughthe Outlook Address Book. Is there any way to isolate Acrobat Pro from my address book? Would changing the Acrobat preferences for "Security (Enhanced)" and un-checking "Automatically trust sites from my Win OS security zones" keep Acrobat from accessing my Outlook address book?

Is it tunred off for the Reader installation or in your Acrobat installation. It doesn't matter what your Acrobat settings are when it's used by someone else with Reader.
Recent versions of Acrobat/Reader do not cache form data in the way mentioned by GKaiseril. This used to happen when a form was viewed in a browser.

  • Adobe form distribution problem

Form created in LiveCycle and distributed with Adobe Pro...3 choices for distribution.
    1) Through Acrobat.com (which stores the responses on Adobe servers)
    2)  By email (This is not an option for me because these forms can not  invoke an email client on submission from the user. --> group policy  locked-down machines.)
    3) To an internal server
Option  3 works great for me as long as the person submitting the form is on my  LAN.  The problem is that we have users not on the LAN submitting the  form.  My repository for the responses needs to be accessible from the  internet.
    What I tired:
Shared folder on server.  Full permissions for "everyone" just to avoid that as a problem during configuration....
    Folder web shared by IIS.
Trying  to use the distribution wizard to set this up for that folder.  It  wants a UNC path but that will not work for external  users and no  matter what http path I put in there is tells me it is  unable to create  the shared folder....
Obviously,  if the forms can distribute and submit to Acrobat.com then they can  submit to my own server.  The question is how can I do this?  Very  frustrating.

    Hello Gregg,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble distributing your form. However, I'm not sure I understand exactly what's going wrong when you try to use Acrobat.com to distribute the form; what happens when you select that option? It should be a mostly automated process, and there's a video on using Acrobat.com for form distribution here:
    http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0348
If you are not interested in using Acrobat.com for forms (it's not entirely clear whether you are trying to use Acrobat.com or another server), please post your question to the Acrobat forum; as this forum is for Acrobat.com questions, we are not able to help with questions specific to other Adobe products and services.

  • Acrobat Pro 8 Printing Problems with Xerox 252 Fiery

printer: Xerox 252 with Fiery Controller
    Software: Acrobat Pro 8
    OS: WinXp pro
The problem occurs when I am printing a binder that consists of 8x11 and 11x17's. The printer locks up and does not print. We have had the Xerox techs come out but after numerous trouble shooting efforts we came to a conclusion that there is an issue with Acrobat 8.
Also, in order to print an 8x11 or 11x17 there is a need to go through and set the file size for each time we print. The check box "print by pdf source size" is checked and we are still having problems.
I've had no issue with Acrobat 7 and the problems I'm having are with Acrobat pro 8.

Correction it's a Xerox Docucolor 242 PS with Fiery

  • Can't select CMYK text colour for text fields in Acrobat Pro forms?

I have designed a business card template in Indesign, and now want to use Acrobat Pro to add in text fields so that a client can edit the contact details on the cards in future.
I need to select a specific text colour for the fields, so that it matches the rest of the design. The cards will obviously need to be printed and the document has been set up in CMYK, but when I enter the CMYK colour breakdown in the Properties > Text Colour panel, it won't apply the colour to that field. The text either stays at the default black, or reverts to RGB - which isn't suitable for printing and doesn't match the colour I need.
Can anybody PLEASE shed some light on this? Other similar posts have either not been answered or people have suggested JavaScript..? I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with a JS code..? Surely there's an easier explanation?
    Thanks in advance.

This is for a text field that you create in Acrobat, whether the form is used offline or online. The script is a custom Format script, which you can place by bringing up the Properties dialog for the field, select the Format tab, set a format category of Custom, and you should see where you can enter the script. Change the string "Instructional text goes here" to the text you want to display when the field is blank.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.2 problem printing to from IE8

I have been having a pretty consistant problem since doing a clean install of Win7 Pro and Acrobat Pro 9.2.  If I print preview a webpage and then try to print from it to a .PDF, the screen comes up asking where to file the printout and just hangs.  I can't do anything in the windows explorer window that opens to pick a place to save the file.  I can't cancel it.  The only way to get back it to force it shut down IE8.
Anyone else experiencing this and have you found a solution?
I have also had a few site where a link opens a .PDF and the same thing happens if you try to save the .PDF that you are viewing.
    Thanks,

Anyone have any ideas?
Try Running Disk Utilites and Repair Permissions.
Use a Utility such as Cocktail, or Oynx to remove Font cache files.
Run Font Book and Resolve Font Conflicts (more than one copy of the Same Font).
Also while in Font Book select all you fonts  (Command/apple-A) click on a Font, then choose Validate Fonts.
Try these and come back with results. Someone else  May be able to come along and suggest something else to look at.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.4 Problems

I am having several problems with my Acrobat Pro. When I am adding pages to a document, (dragging and dropping from explorer) the pages pane is hiding pages where I can't get to them. If I have 11 pages, and the page pane set to see two pages at a time, the 11 page will be just barely peaking out at the bottom but the scroll bar won't go down any further. I can't place pages at the end of the document cause I can't see the last page.
Also, it keeps adding multiple drawings backwards....... if you grab documents 1 - 5 in explorer, drag and drop them into acrobat, acrobat drops them 5-1.....
It didn't use to do this. It has been doing it for a couple of months. I am on a fresh install of the whole computer so it is not corrupted software. It has to be in one of the last updates. There has to be a way to fix this.
    Thanks

Any idea about the backwards thing?

  • Pro forma invoice problems if billing plan is used

    Hello experts,
i have a problem again with the billing plan.
To problem now is the pro- forma for following case:
A billing plan is used for the items in the sales order. only at the end when the delivery gets prepared at the end, the pro forma invoice will be created.
The billing relevance for the item category is 'I' - with the billing plan type (a partial billing with % used).
For the proforma the entire value should appear on the Pro forma finally when the manufactured modul passes the customs.
I am struggling with the correct copy control settings.
The already billed values do not appear on the PRO Forma - for the 'real bills' it is ok.While creating the pro forma the related message appears in the log.
Which settings in copy control for the copy control (sales order --> billing type (pro forma) do I need to use if I need to have the entire sales order item value on the pro forma bill.
all helpfull answers are highly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Kurt

    Hi Kurt,
If you are using a billing plan say periodic billing plan; then i dont think you will have a delivery created against it. From the order / contract; it would be a billing document.
If you are planning to use any of the billing plans; then invoices are bound to split based on invoicing dates and the settings of billing plan.
If you are planning to pull all the parts for the purpose of customs then probably you can plant to develop a new output type that would print the details from the billing document (instead of Proforma from delivery). This new output type will be used for "N" number of billing documents against a sales order / contract in order to capture all the part numbers in it.  So if you have 3 parts in the order and 6 invoices, then the new output would get triggered 6 times and you will end up with 6 prints.
Making changes to incorpoate billing plan related copy control settings would turn your development / configuration more complex.
I hope i understood your question correctly.
    Hope this helps;
    Regards,
    Syed Nasir

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 Installation Problem

I've had Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 running fine for several years on XP Pro.  Our company rolled out upgraded hardware with a new image about a year ago, and I cannot successfully install 8 on any of the units.  Most recent issue, using CD, install went up to accepting end user license. I accepted and then installation froze and I had to End Program.  When I try to launch now, Getting Started splash screen comes up then program freezes and terminates.  It seems like a permissions/security issue, can anybody assist?

I assume the new system is Win7 and most likely a 64-bit system. If so, you may just have to upgrade to AA XI. Folks have gotten AA8 to work on a Win7 32-bit system. You might be successful if you download the updates for AA8 and install those. I think it took at least AA8.1 to work with a 64-bit XP.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 - Signature - problems

I have used Acrobat Pro for a number of years for editing and filling out forms (newbie).
I had a signature set up in the last Acrobat (I think 7) which was a typed signature saying it was digitally signed and gave the name and date.
    Here is my question:
I am completely lost in trying to set up my signature in Adobe and need some help.  I have 2 signatures in .jpeg form and would like to use these if possible.
Thank you guys for your help and I have continually browed the forums and picked up a few tricks of the trade.

Is this something you want to use as the signature appearance for a digital signature, or just add the image as you would with a stamp?

  • Acrobat Pro X font problems.....

    Afternoon
When we print combined docs from acrobat pro x it is corrupting the fonts and but square boxes or jibberish in place of text, however if we take the same document and print it from Acrobat 9 it works?????
    Any ideas why?

Thanks so much for your response.  I actually tried this first and had the same results.  Since I posted this, I was able to find a solution.  There is a problem with IE9.  After downloading Google Chrome and following the download instructions, everything worked fine.  Hope this helps others.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 License Problems

We have successfully installed Acrobat Pro 9.3 on several Windows XP machines, but on others when we try to install we get an error stating that we have an invalid serial number.  It is an enterprise serial number, and like I said does work for most machines.
Any ideas on why the license works for some but not others.

They are setup the same.  The weird thing is I can install Adobe Acrobat 8 just fine on the machines that will not allow me to install 9.

  • Acrobat Pro X launch problem

I am having trouble launching Acrobat Pro X trial after downloading to my lap top - any ideas why this is happening ?

    Ankit,
That is correct - nothing happens.
Today I ran scans and the following messages were sent:
1: 'Incompatible Application' with the triangular warning sign
2: 'Acrobat failed to send a DDE command'
I am getting to the point of frustration and going to uninstall everything before it does
    damage to my hard drive.
I also understand that uninstall will not remove all aspects of the program from my
hard drive but this is giving me a very bad impression of the Acrobat program.

  • Form distribution problem

I have created a pdf fillable form, and would like to distribute it where the user would fill it out, then print it and send it to my office with other materials in a packet.  I do not want the responses to come to me or any other specific person or server or to collect them in any fashion; I do not want the header on the form to say either "Please fill out the following form. When finished, click Submit form to return the completed form." or "Please fill out the following form. If you are a form author, choose Distribute from the Forms panel in the Tools Pane on the right to send it to your recipients".  It should just say "Please fill out the following form."  How do I just have a form without the response mechanisms?

It will only say "Please fill out the following form. When finished, click Submit form to return the completed form." if you put it through the Distribute Form process in Acrobat. So just don't do that. If you need to allow Reader users (prior to 11) to save the filled-in form, just Reader-enable it. If you need help with this, what version of Acrobat are you using?
It will only say "Please fill out the following form. If you are a form author, choose Distribute from the Forms panel in the Tools Pane on the right to send it to your recipients" if it is opened with Acrobat, but not all versions (Acrobat 9 Yes, Acrobat 11 No), and that will only be possible to do if there are no security restrictions.
