Acrobat Pro form getting MAPI spooler error

I have a form created in Acrobat Pro. The users are using Reader 9.3.1. When the user clicks the Submit button, they get a MAPI Spooler error. For some Windows Services closes Reader. Any thoughts on what is causing this and how to fix?
Thanks,
MDawn

  • Acrobat pro 9 has a stop error when trying to create a portfoloi

I have a problem with Acrobat pro 9 whenever  I try to combine pdfs into a portfolio. The program stops with an error that acrobat has encountered a problem with authplay.dll and cant continue.
I have reinstalled the program many times, cleaned out the registry, applied all updates but the problem remains. I was using acrobat pro 8 previously without any problems.
I put in a support request to Adobe and tried everything they suggested still without success. Now Adobe wont respond to my support requests.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem or know of a work around?
If I can not fix it soon I will have to reinstall Acrobat pro 8 as the portfolio function is one I need to use very regularly.
It is beginning to look like I have wasted my money on pro 9 and Adobe does not seem to care at all. I will not even bother to try and get my money back and write it off to experience.
I don't think I will be wasting my money on Adobe products in the future.
    Thanks for any help

I read through the pdf wth your emails to/from customer support. I'll have to defer to someone else because it seems you have tried what I would suggest.
If someone else does not respond with a better plan and you are willing to spend a bit more time before writing off Acrobat 9, I would try the process below one last time. (If you are using a CS suite, while authplay.dll is found in each of the directories, it does not appear that the issue extends to the other programs.)
    1. Using Add/Remove Programs, uninstall all Adobe Acrobat and Reader software and uninstall the Adobe Flash Player Active X and Adobe Flash Player Plugin. If you have it, uninstall Adobe Air.
    2. In C:\Documents and Settings\(your profile name)\Application Data\Adobe, delete the Acrobat and Adobe PDF folders if they still exist.
    3. Reinstall only Acrobat 9.
    4. From Acrobat, run the updater Help > Check for Updates and install all updates.
    5. Verify Adobe Acrobat is now version 9.2: Help > About Adobe Acrobat Pro  (If for any reason it is not 9.2, use the update on http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
    6. Test

While searching for a solution, I just saw your post over at acrobatusers.com (http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/viewtopic.php?id=15765). Looks like my advice was largely a duplicate, although your event log indicates Acrobat did not update properly.

  • Acrobat Pro Ext 9 always crashes, error 147:6 (I'm traveling & need help!)

I installed (from CDROM) and activated Acrobat Pro 9 Extended a week or so ago on my laptop, Windows XP Pro. I used it several times without any problem. I left my home yesterday on a one month trip, mostly out of the US but in the US until tomorrow. So now it crashes.
I tried to Print to PDF yesterday from another program. Acrobat started to open then crashed. If I open it by itself, as soon as I try to do anything, even just Help/About Acrobat, it crashes with a message:
'You cannot use ... Repair by uninstalling or reinstalling .... 147:6 "
Even if I just open it and wait, within a little while it will crash. I've attached a screen copy of the exact image.
I don't travel with original cdroms, so I cannot simply uninstall and reinstall. Is there anything I can do or am I SOL?
    Thanks.

I hope you get all your money back promptly! How frustrating.
If the seller was selling the software as new, that was probably just a scam or his source was unreliable.
For purchasing used software, it's possible the seller did not realize that the Acrobat had to be deactivated first. You could request verification of the deactivation prior to purchasing used software. That would at least allow you to make sure the seller understands that deactivation is necessary. The license is good for two computers and if it is installed on two computers, each installation would need deactivation, otherwise the buyer would be sharing a license and breaking the license agreement.
As for why the program ran for a bit, maybe there was temporarily one activation available for that serial number. The error message makes sense because a missing or corrupted serial number file would be replaced during reinstallation and reactivation.

  • Silent Install of Acrobat Pro 7.0 fails with Error 1404

    Hi,
I'm trying to silently install Acrobat Pro 7.0.
I have created the MST using the Installshield Tuner 7.0, and use the following command line to install:
    msiexec /i acropro.msi TRANSFORMS=mytransform.mst /qb
I am getting the following error message:
    Error 1404.Could not delete key
    \software\Classes\CLSID\{CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000}
Verify you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
If i repeat the command without the /qb, and do a manual install (msiexec /i acropro.msi TRANSFORMS=mytransform.mst), it installs without error, so the problem only exists in a silent install.
    System Specs:
Windows XP SP2 with all MS patches to march 2007
    Acrobat Reader 8.0
Base image created by SYSprep, and then using Altiris Rdeploy.
I'm suspecting that a MS patch has locked down that part of the registry, and the Acrobat Pro MSI doesn't have the code to handle this in a silent install.
I have opened the MSI using Wise installer Pro, and can't see anything strange in it.
Any help/pointers would be a great help
    Thanks,
    -Mark

    Hi,
Just Pro 7.0.0 (I'll integrate the patches to 7.0.9 later)
I'm not keen on an Admin install, as this poses problems when patching (i.e. you have to do a "reinstall=All"). I prefer to integrate released patches into the silent install package, and for subsequent patches, just package them for silent install and push them down to the client.
Reader 8.0 is on the machine only.
The base build contains Reader 8.0, the we deliver a package to the machine to silently install Acrobat Pro 7
    Thanks,
    mark

  • Can't select CMYK text colour for text fields in Acrobat Pro forms?

I have designed a business card template in Indesign, and now want to use Acrobat Pro to add in text fields so that a client can edit the contact details on the cards in future.
I need to select a specific text colour for the fields, so that it matches the rest of the design. The cards will obviously need to be printed and the document has been set up in CMYK, but when I enter the CMYK colour breakdown in the Properties > Text Colour panel, it won't apply the colour to that field. The text either stays at the default black, or reverts to RGB - which isn't suitable for printing and doesn't match the colour I need.
Can anybody PLEASE shed some light on this? Other similar posts have either not been answered or people have suggested JavaScript..? I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with a JS code..? Surely there's an easier explanation?
    Thanks in advance.

This is for a text field that you create in Acrobat, whether the form is used offline or online. The script is a custom Format script, which you can place by bringing up the Properties dialog for the field, select the Format tab, set a format category of Custom, and you should see where you can enter the script. Change the string "Instructional text goes here" to the text you want to display when the field is blank.

  • While calling plsql  package from Pro*c getting  ORA-1426 error

    Hi Friends
I am calling a package from Pro*c and getting numberic overflow error ORA-1426 but when i introduce a debug message such as printf or calling standard oracle utility to write in a log file no error comes. So how just introduction of debug messages is resolving the error. Can any one throw some light on it, whether it is some kind of synchronization issue or something else
    Regards
    Abhijeet

Pretty hard to guess here since you're not providing any sample code.
    However:
"Internally, PL/SQL assigns the values of the bounds to temporary PLS_INTEGER variables, and, if necessary, rounds the values to the nearest integer. The magnitude range of a PLS_INTEGER is -2147483648 to 2147483647, represented in 32 bits. If a bound evaluates to a number outside that range, you get a numeric overflow error when PL/SQL attempts the assignment. "

  • Even with nothing connected to my Mac Pro, I get a USB error message

Even with nothing connected, I get this error message:
Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled.
I have restarted a few times and restarted in safe mode, and reset the PRAM and it is still there.
    Any ideas?

Even with the mouse and keyboard unplugged, I got the same error message. It always gives me 5 warning messages in 5 separate dialog boxes. The 2 USB ports on the front of the machine are disabled, and the 3 in the back are ok.
Profiler recognizes the "Hub in Apple Pro Keyboard" that lists the keyboard and the USB laser mouse (Logitec).
I'll give the SMC reset a try, but I have read in another thread where it didn't work for the guy with the problem, and his final solution was a complete re-install of the system software. I'm thinking maybe an upgrade to Lion 10.7 might fix it without having to rebuild my whole computer. I'm using 10.6.8.
    -I'm still perplexed.

  • Acrobat Pro IX - Getting Renew Your Subscription

Hello. I hope someone can help me with this as I've had a problem with Adobe Acrobat for a long while. I can't find a live person during the times I seem to work on my Adobe problems.
After outright purchasing a Student copy - I reloaded and rebooted and still get the Renew Your Subscription error message go to Subscription Manager.
The following occurs when I try to print to PDF in a Word Document.  I have been cleared by the Storemanager and received the appropriate download and Serial #s.
I read another link that said to reload the Download manager?  Is that the link that is given in the Serial number storemanager letter? because if it isn't perhaps you can direct me to where I can find this?

  • Problem printing Acrobat.pdf files get a VMerror error. Upgraded to Mac OS X10.10 Yosemite

I really need to be able to print Acrobat.pdf files and printer window indicates pdf is being sent to the printer. Printed a test page and Word documents but not Acrobat.pdf.
Test page indicated I have Driver Name: HP338_6PPD and Driver Version: 19.8.. I have had this printer for over 10 years and it has performed very well.  Other than I can't scan anymore it has never failed to print a document.  Does Adobe need to address this problem?

Welcome back to the community, @JAJ70
I read about the "VMerror" error you are seeing when attempting to print PDF files. Although this may be an issue with Adobe, I do have some links and suggestions for you to look into.
I would suggest a power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
I am unsure of which printer you have however, check for a firmware update:
