ACROBAT PRO 9 data collection

HELP!!
I have created a PDF form using Livecycle Design and I intend to distribute the form to various users; and collect the responses back with the in-built feature in adobe pro 9 ( there is this file called RESPONSE FILE (when I distribute the form) where I can view or collate all the response forms submit to me)
My issues is as such that;-
1. I have ONE form
2. There will be 3 main centers i.e. Centre 1,2,3 which the users can send the forms to
3. How can I design the form in a way that if User A chose to send the form to Centre 2; Centre 1 and 3 will not get the distributed form sent to them?
I hope the question make sense and it will be of great help if anyone can help!!

Please repost to the LiveCycle Designer forum.

    Hi,
    Have a look at Paul's LockAllFields solution. You can download it in Paul's post here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3168183#3168183.

  • Problem exporting data in Acrobat Pro 9.0 from secured response form

    Hello,
    I made a form in Livecycle 9.0 and am distributing it through Acrobat Pro 9.0 - using Acrobat.com's form distribution application - in several cycles to see how varying the levels of security of the form will affect users (the folks who will be filling out the forms), once they get the forms.  I want to see how many passwords they have to enter, what they can do, what they cannot do with the form..  I've been sending unsecured and secured forms out, to test.
    The problem I have now is, when I receive my permissions protected, secured forms back, I cannot EXPORT the data.  Both  the "Export" and "Archived" buttons are greyed out, and even when I remove the security settings from File--> Portfolio Properties, nothing changes.
    I'm locked out of the collected data!
    It's easy to export data from unsecured response forms (without permissions protection), but I would prefer to limit the amount of manipulation users can do to the forms (aside from commenting, filling them out, and signing them).
    The secured forms perform great on the Acrobat Reader - user (form-filler) end, restricting printing, modifying text, etc,  but they return to me in Acrobat Pro inert.  I'm completely stumped to how I can get data out of them. I would sure appreciate any help!
    Thanks,
    Chenster

  • LiveCycle Designer 8/ Acrobat Pro 8-form data

    Not skilled in using the LiveCycle Designer included in Acrobat Pro 8, I have been struggling for a couple of weeks, trying to format a sample form and export data to a .csv file to read in Excel or notepad, once saved in .pdf and completed. I have the basics, but can't accomplish the more advanced. So far, I have used LiveCycle Deisgner to create a one page table form, with a header, 20 columns and 16 rows. The header cells are all text boxes labeling the columns below them. The rows have mostly text input cells/boxes, a few drop- down list boxes.
    I can complete, in .pdf, a couple of sample lines with made-up names, other data as a test. It will save, the using manage form data>merge data files into a spreadsheet, I can create a .csv and view it in Excel.
    Here's where the difficulty begins. I need the .csv to display every cell/box, even if blank, and in the correct row. The form data will be used by a genetics program's import module to import data and needs to be either a .txt or .csv tab, comma or other symbol (for example, @) delimited file, where blanks are represented by one extra delimiter (as a spacer) for each blank. The .csv data display is anything but that. The header runs across the first .csv row with names like :"form1[0].ID1[0]" while the only other row showing is all of the sample data from the .pdf's 2 completed sample data lines, all in one row, with some blank cells/boxes shown, and some not shown.
    Since eventually, once the form is "up and running," it can collect 50+ rows, I was hoping not to have to manually edit the .csv to get it into the acceptable format for the other program's import module.
    I am at a loss about how to set up the form in LiveCycle Designer so that the header row doesn't export to the .csv (I am unable to find the data binding controls for these text/header boxes to set them to "none."), the blank cells/boxes all register, rather than only some, and the row 1 data goes on the .csv's row 1 and the row 2 data to the .csv's row 2, etc., rather than an endlessly long single row.
    I've already searched forum's, plus the help files for LiveCycle Designer and Acrobat, with no success.
    Any ideas, solutions or places where I can check further would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Hi,
    With LC Designer you can develop a form which has data connections to databases and/or web services.
    The issues to consider are: what version of Acrobat will the user have; and if the user only has the Reader then how are you Reader Extending the form.
    User has the fulll version of Acrobat:
    user can open form;
    fill it in;
    print it;
    data connections to databases and web services will work;
    user can save the form.
    User has the Reader (form not Reader Enabled)
    user can open form;
    fill it in;
    print it;
    data connections to databases and web services will NOT work;
    user CANNOT save the form.
    User has the Reader (form Reader Enabled using the full version of Acrobat before deployment. See licence restrictions)
    user can open form;
    fill it in;
    print it;
    data connections to databases and web services will NOT work;
    user can save the form.
    User has the Reader (form Reader Enabled using the full LC Enterprise Suite)
    user can open form;
    fill it in;
    print it;
    data connections to databases and web services will work;
    user can save the form.
    Hope that helps,

  • Acrobat Pro 9.0 date fields

    hi, I am having trouble in date fields in a form I developed in Designer (Acrobat Pro 9.0).  I have two problems.  1.  I have a date field for DOB (Date of Birth).  When any dates are clicked or entered with a year of 1929 or earlier, Adobe converts it to 2029 and so on.  So I cannot enter in anyone over 80 years old.  Not good.  How do I fix this?  2.  When I get out of my Adobe Pro and check out my form myself I am able to use the cool feature where you click on the white part in between the arrows in a date drop down box and I can easily get to early 1900's years.  When I have distributed my form those users don't seem to have that feature.  The top of their date drop down box is blue.  how do I get theirs to work like mine?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Missing data in Acrobat Pro XI PDF created from Microsoft Word (2010) doc

    When I create an "Adobe PDF" from a Microsoft 2010 Word doc that contains mainly images and text boxes, about 50% of the text boxes do not appear in the PDF.  Also, some of the images (layered on top of each other) appear in a different order - the one on the bottom moves to the top.
    How can I address this problem so that the PDF accurately reflects the Word document?
    (I am using Acrobat Pro XI and Microsoft Office 2010)

    Finally figured it out -- if I view the form directly in Adobe Reader (over our network), I see the confusing message about "Click 'Sign' to fill out..."
    BUT, if I open the form within a web browser (IE, Firefox, etc.), I see the usual message: "Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print..."
    It is doing what I expected; I just wasn't viewing it in the usual manner.  Users will be seeing this form via a web browser, so problem solved.

  • Acrobat Pro XI transposes numbers for month and day in dates when saving optimized pdf to Excel spreadsheet.

    Using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and Excel 14.3.8 on a mac.
    Saved PDF as "optimized PDF" then "save as other" > spreadsheet > Microsoft Excel Workbook.
    Problem: numbers in some random dates are  transposed so that month and day are reversed.  No particular pattern to these errors.  Only fix we've found is to go through and manually check and correct the date errors - there are hundreds of these errors in the document so this is not a good solution.
    (Note: Excel columns with dates are specified as "date" fields. All dates are formatted as m/d/yy)
    Any ideas what's causing this problem problem and how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Shared Review Deadline Dates do not Update - Acrobat Pro. 9

    I recently started two shared reviews in Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 When I attempt to extend the deadline dates on both it updates me in the tracker, but when anyone else in the reveiw attempts to add more comments they are told the review has expried.
    I am the initiator of the reviews, and acording to Adobe I should be able to change the deadline date in the tracker and have it update the other reviewers so they can contine with their reviews. It does extend my deadline, but not anyone elses.

  • Adding an Expiry date to a document - Acrobat Pro

    I want to add an expiry date to my document i.e 12 months from when it was created.  I recently got Acrobat Pro X on my computer, and the not sure how to do this now.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    In Adobe Acrobat 8, it was possible by adding JavaScript by clicking on the menu Advanced > Document Javascript > Edit CheckDoc
    Then we could open the JavaScript and put the end date, as below
    Thanks!

    Adobe LiveCycle can protect documents on an internal company network OR via the public Internet, it simply depends on how you set up access to the LC server (i.e. is the IP address of the server public and can it be connected to from outside the firewall).
    "Expiring" documents with JavaScript is strongly discouraged if the document has value, as a user can trivially bypass the script (and as you have found out, it only ever runs under specific circumstances). If the PDF is opened in a non-Adobe application such as OS X Preview, scripting simply isn't available. Many users disable the scripting module by default, especially in enterprise settings. These are the situations for which digital rights management (DRM) was developed - if there was an easier (and cheaper) way to do it, Adobe wouldn't have bothered writing LiveCycle's DRM module as they'd never sell any licenses!
    LiveCycle DRM restricts the PDF to opening only in Adobe applications (Reader and Acrobat), but the protection offered is totally reliable. Nobody has ever bypassed or cracked LCDRM hashes in the wild, and it's used to secure documents of the highest value (both commercial and proprietary). Yes, LCDRM is expensive and probably isn't viable for prosumer or short-run applications, but at an enterprise level the cost of a LiveCycle seat is often trivial compared to the losses they risk if a document falls into the wrong hands. It's a commercial decision, but anything less than DRM is merely an illusion of protection, and document authors must be aware of that.
    I have exactly the same issue as you, except that the pdf documents are
    distributed to customers - eg. quotations to expire after 30 days,
    proposals, etc. In this case, Adobe Lifecycle doesn't work for me as it
    only manages internal documents (as far as I know).

  • Import data into a form in Acrobat Pro X

    Have followed directions on importing data in text format into a form in Acrobat Pro X . Does not work. Is it possible to import a large amount of data into a form and have multiple forms created? Very frustrating and disappointing.

    Here's a recent topic that discusses this type of thing: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3397600
    Note that some of the code that was posted isn't correct, but you will see the general approach outlined. It does require some JavaScript programming. Have you done any before?

  • Insufficient Data for an Image Acrobat Pro 11.0.6 - Windows 8.1

    We have recently upgraded several users in our office to Windows 8.1.  They are running Acrobat Pro 11.0.6, which they had previously been running Windows 7 without issue.
    Now, in Windows 8, they will have a PDF file open and pages in it start to go blank followed by the "insufficient data for an image" error.  It seems that this may be related to having a downloaded PDF file open in another window, or making comments in a PDF file.
    Has anyone else run into this?  Any suggestions on what to do?  We've uninstalled/reinstalled, run a cleaner tool, etc... to no avail.  The other suggest Adobe has had so far is to change the zoom on the file; that did not resolve it either.

    We are having the same issue.  I've tried the newest version of Acrobat (11.0.6) on windows 7, and windows 8.1.   I've also tried earlier version of acrobat (9 & 10) fully updated.  So far I have found 2 pdf's that consistently cause the "Insufficient data for an image." error.  The pdf i've been using to test is located here   (http://japoncaogreniyorum.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/lets_learn_japanese_basic_ii_1_of_2. pdf)  If i open that pdf in acrobat 11.0.6 i get the error right away.  If i open that same pdf in chrome it opens with no errors and looks as it should.  No missing pages, half pages, or blank pages.  The second pdf i've been testing this with is confidential but it has yielded the same results.  Regardless of the version of acrobat i open the pdf's in i get the error.  In chrome they display and print with no errors.
    Again this is tested with Acrobat 11.0.6 on Windows 7 & 8.1.  This is the version cited by adobe to fix this very problem.
    Any help is much appreciated

  • Master Collection CS6, Acrobat Pro X Ghost Install... (Mac)

    So you know when you do a ghost poo, as in you do a poo and when you check the toilet and it's not there, well that's what the CS6 Master Collection Installer is doing with Acrobat Pro on my Mac (OSX Mountain Lion).
    I run the installer and it says it's installed but then when you look in the Applications folder it's not there. I've tried setting the install location to a different address and creating that folder using the installer but still no love. Any ideas?
    I've been having a lot of problems in the past few days with the latest version of the Master Collection which has cost me huge hours I've lost more than a day redownloading all the software after the Application Manager stopped wanting to load and so stopped me from using my license on CS6 software versions which were installed originally as trials (then it took me a while to realise that Acrobat XI wasn't included with the Master Collection, which should be called the Substandard Collection if it doesn't have the latest versions of each software package). Since someone at Adobe didn't think of offering a separate download link for just Acrobat X (unlike every other package on that download page on a non-Adobe.com site which I linked to from an official Adobe page http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html), I've since spent 14hrs waiting for the absolutely massive CS6 installer package to find out that Acrobat won't work now (I did have Acrobat Pro 8/CS3 but it's custom file system windows don't work on Mountian Lion, great programming there guys).
    And someone make a stable version of Fireworks that doesn't crash every time you're doing something mundane. If there was decent alternatives I would be switching, Adobe buying Macromedia was bad for the industry, the monopoly means they can continue to do such a bad job with their software that we can't do much else but keep using it.

    I followed the help ideas, did some of them (some folder renaming, uninstall Adobe Air and then went to Adobe to D/L the new installer and installed it again, and again trying to resart in Safe Mode)... Nothing did the trick...
    Then, while still in Safe Mode, after one failure, I opened the main, "Adobe CS6 Design Standard" folder again. I started snooping around, opening the other folders, and in the Payloads folder found whole bunch of software "stuff"... See below, the very first was an Acrobat folder that included the Installer.pkg. So, what the heck, I already spent hours on this, I double-clicked it, and BINGO, it installed the program w/o any issues... I did a regular restart, and the program is working...
    ...Not sure what you or any Adobe expert would make out of it, but it seems like an easy workaround, so it seems....

    Hello, I have MacBook Pro with Retina display. How can I get retina support to my Adobe Acrobat pro? It is version 10.1.13 and it says it is up to date.

    Problem is that my pdf files look terrible although I have MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014). I have Adobe Creative Suite Design  Standard version 6.0 (Mac). I have installed every possible update. I think problem is that for some reason my CS doesn´t support retina display? If I view a pdf file in iMessage, it looks fantastic. But if I open the same document in Adode Acrobat Pro, it looks awful. What can I do?
    Thank you so much for your help.
