Acrobat Pro 9 on winXP will not update or uninstall.

I have seen posts for this issue for the mac version.  I am on winXP Pro.  I can neither uninstall or re-install.  I have attempted to follow the technote on manually removing Acrobat. However, I get access denied errors even when running as administrator to the machine.
Does Adobe have a tool similar to the Norton removal tool, that just removes the entire product?
Thanks,
Ken

Good day Ken,
It sounds like the issue might be deeper than just Acrobat not uninstalling.  I would suggest that you try creating a new Admin user account.  Logging into Safe Mode under that new Admin user and then following the manual removal steps.

my MAc Book PRO 13" Retina display will not update.  It crashes every time I try to do an update.  I have sent in the information on each update but so far nothing back from Apple.  Also it does not matter what I am trying to update, the operating system, and application, each caused the same crash.   This mac book is less than a month old.

That is the highest you will be able to go with 3g. You need 3gs or 4 to go any higher (multi processors and more memory needed).  Version 4.2.1 marks the end of your updates for that device.

  • ITunes will not update or uninstall

I have iTunes 11.1.1.11 installed on a 64 bit PC with Windows 7.  It will not update and I cannot uninstall it.  The install file for this version seems to be missing.  I probably deleted it after downloading an update. How can I solve this problem ?

    First try this fixit:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
If that doesn't work you may need the the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility
Unfortunately the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been withdrawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google  msicuu2.exe download
mydigitallife in the above search has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
After installing, To run the program  – All Programs>>Windows Install
If you get  permission denied error, Try Run as Administrator – an option if you right click on the program.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the file on your PC.
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista/Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did *not* uninstall, look out for entries that start All Users that are blank entries or have numeric entries that look like version numbers
restart your PC and try installing iTunes

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.0 will not print SRA3 size paper

I created an Adobe InDesign file 320x450mm (SRA3) and saved it as a a High Quality PDF. However, when I print from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 with SRA3 paper size settings, it defaults to A4 and the printer will not register the SRA3 paper size request. The tech from Canon updated the printer driver which increased print dialog options such as Paper Handling, Paper Source etc. (which I didn't have before) and spent over an hour running tests. We both agreed there was a software issue since there were not issues from other software:
I can print SRA3 files from InDesign and Microsoft Word, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro.
This is an ongoing problem since I often receive artwork in PDF format at this size.
My workaround is to place the PDF into InDesign, line up the crops by eye and print to SRA3 paper which works fine until I need to do a double sided print which becomes slightly innacurate and often time consuming.
    Canon printer driver specs:
    V2.0
    iR-ADV C5045/5051 PS (UK)

What happens if you select other paper sizes? Also ensure that 'choose paper source by PDF page size' is not checked at your print dialog.
Kindly let us know your results and if possible please forward us your pdf at [email protected]
Looking forward to help you out.
    Thanks

  • Mac Acrobat Pro v9.4.1 will not print to HP Envy 100

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.1 for the Mac on Mac OS X 10.6.5 or 10.6.6 was printing PDFs find to my new HP Envy 100 printer.
I have the latest driver updates on the printer.
I've tried deleting Acrobat preferences files - a common tactic to take on a Mac that clears up lots of issues. It didn't this time.
I can take the very same PDF files and print them from the Mac OS X utility Preview just fine with no issues. Try Acrobat no luck.
Not sure how to proceed right now. I see Acrobat go through the motions of printing and I even see the HP printer icon appear in the Finder dock like it does anytime you print from an application, but it quickly disappears and then the printer never does anything. Nothing is queued. It is almost as if Acrobat sent a zeroed out or null file to the printer queue.

I have the almost exact same problem. Popped up out of nowhere. When I tried to print something today wirelessly from my Macbook, the computer tried endlessly to connect to the network, but failed. Everything is fine when I directly connect the printer and the Macbook. I have now deleted that networked printer from my list and when I try to add a new printer, the system is not finding any printers.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • PDF files created in Acrobat Pro X for Mac will not print correctly on Windows - text is missing

I recently created a PDF file with pictures and texts in Acrobat Pro X. However, when I send it to my coworkers (who work on Windows computers), the printed file contains only images, and no text. I am using Century Gothic - a font that is installed on these Windows computers. When they open the files, they can see the text and everything exactly as it is meant to be. However, upon printing, the text disappears completely.
We are using a Konica Minolta Bizhub printer to complete these printouts. When I print from my computer (the Mac), the files print perfectly on this printer. However, when using the same printer, a Windows user cannot print the text in the PDF's.
Has anyone else run across this problem? I am thinking of trying to embed fonts, however it doesn't seem like it would make much of a difference (since the fonts show up fine on a Windows computer anyways). Is there a known issue with printing PDF's on a Konica Minolta printer?

The archive format you used embeds all fonts, as does Press and Print type job settings. The standard job settings does not embed all fonts and that might be where the problem was.

  • Acrobat Pro with design premium will not start

Yesterday I downloaded CS4 Design Premium.  All of the programs work except for Acrobat Pro.  It displays the following: An internal server error occurred.
I have tried all of the usual things like restarting.  Removing preferences, no luck.  Uninstalling and restarting then reinstalling, no luck.
What am I missing?  I am using a MacBook Pro 2.33ghz intel core duo, 2g ram, with OSX 10.5.8.
    Thanks in advance

Well I solved my own problem.
    Delete this file.
You can find it on this path.
After I removed the file everything worked fine.
I am not sure where this file came from but I know removing it fixed the problem.

  • ITunesiPod Windows will not update or uninstall

I have a 4G and a 5G iPod, with their software listed in the Add/Remove Programs control panel on my Windows XP desktop machine. My machine **will not install** the last 2 versions of iTunes, so I cannot (for example) access movie videos in iTunes 7. I have tried uninstalling the iPod installs; nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling just Quicktime: nothing. I tried installing new Quicktime over old; it will not install, but rolls back to old. I tried a posted Regedit fix in folder Classes>.cdda. The files supposed to be in .cdda were not there; it was empty. Nothing works. Hint: on my Windows XP laptop, I installed just iTunes (no install of iPod software from the accompanying CDs). Everything works fine there, and updates fine, but not on my desktop where I put on the iPod software. Help help help.

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 MSP will not update old MSI

Has anyone been able to update the Adobe Acrobat MSI file with the 8.1.2 MSP and push it out through Active Directory? I run the
    msiexec /a "MSIFILE" /p "MSPFILE"
command and it says it updated the msi.
Then when I try to run the msi file it go to install/repair/remove 8.1.1. However when I just try to run the AcrobatUpd812_all_inc.msp it will let me install 8.1.2 with no problem. Is there something wrong with the patch or the way I am trying to patch it and push it out? I need it to be included into the MSI so I can push it out to all my users.

Here's some info that I found on the adobe forum sites that
corrected my problem with applying patches to an admin install point.
I recently got msiexec v4.5 from MSoft (which can't install on
Win 2K) but only on the later XP and Vista, and server 2003. Thus,
    msiexec v3.1 will work too.
The common mistake people are making is that based on ones
interpretation of the MSoft msiexec documentation and which
AcroPro.msi to use. The first step to patching is to copy
all the files from the Acrobat install disk to ones hard drive.
After doing this, the person wants to create an admin install point
and then patch the AIP. What people are interpreting wrongly from
the msiexec documentation (an honest mistake) since they will perform
each step one at a time instead of all at once, and also that in the
future when a patch comes out, they will run the patch on the AIP
using the same sequence is filename AcroPro.msi. If all the patches
were applied in one commandline along with creating the AIP, the
AIP will be patched all at one. However, the easy thing for humans
to do is run one command at a time which is creating the problem with
the MAGAZINE_Ad_2006_JPN.jobopti file not found in the Data1.cab since each time the apply a patch they use the original AcroPro.msi
file that came from the Acrobat install disk, instead of the new
one that is created and updated in the AIP directory. Once people
create the AIP using the original AcroPro.msi file, they must then
patch the AIP using the new AcroPro.msi that is in the AIP directory.
Here's an example that a copied from Nhiem which fixed the problem.
Adobe web and technical support along with their KB articles
couldn't help because they didn't know why/how people were making
    mistakes.
1). create an AIP using the original AcroPro.msi
    msiexec /a "c:\acrobat8pro\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\AcroPro.msi" TARGETDIR="c:\test\acroPro812"
2), Apply the patches, but use the NEW AcroPro.msi in the AIP directory and not the one used in step (1) above.
    msiexec /a "c:\test\acroProAIP\AcroPro.msi" /p "c:\acrobat8pro\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\AcrobatUpd810_efgj_incr.msp" TARGETDIR="c:\test\acroProAIP"
    msiexec /a "c:\test\acroProAIP\AcroPro.msi" /p "c:\acrobat8pro\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\AcrobatUpd811_all_incr.msp" TARGETDIR="c:\test\acroProAIP"
    msiexec /a "c:\test\acroProAIP\AcroPro.msi" /p "c:\acrobat8pro\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\AcrobatUpd812_all_incr.msp" TARGETDIR="c:\test\acroProAIP"
3). I was able to apply the 6468.mst file to the new AcroPro.msi
and save it off using ORCA from Msoft. However, if I try to
use the commandline shown below, I get a 2203 Internal error and
it won't install (no filename specified when it does this). However,
if I specify the TRANSFORM file at the sametime I'm applying the
v8.1.2 patch, I get no error. But, when I view the AcroPro.msi
with ORCA and look at the entry, the port number that this transform
does which changes this number doesn't change the data. This transform
has conditions in it that check to see if the patch version is
greater than v8.1.1 and v8.1.2 since the port number was mistakenly
    changed in these patches.
any ideas other than to apply it after the Acrobat software has
been installed from the install point using the /i switch which
commandline containing the transform option and filename?
    Here's the command I'm running.
    msiexec /a "c:\test\acroProAIP\AcroPro.msi" TRANSFORMS="c:\acrobat8pro\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\6468.mst" TARGETDIR="c:\test\acroProAIP"
See Adobe's kb article; however, the usage of the AcroPro.msi
is wrong since it implies to use the original one after the AIP
to patch Acrobat 7 files which is why people are mislead and
are getting all the problems they are getting. See,

While using Acrobat 9.1.3 Pro, I cannot convert web pages to PDF format.
the output is garbled and text is cyrillic or backwards.
    Using Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13

You do not have all the fonts embedded, but the basic document looks fine. There is an issue withe the printer setup in your browser that is leading to part of the page running off the paper - but that is a browser issue and not Acrobat. In some cases, a simple fix is to print as landscape.

  • Installed Yosemite on  Macbook Pro  Epson 840 printer will not print. Uninstalled and now will NOT re-install.

I installed Yosemite last night. Today I needed to print a lot of papers. When I tried to print - nothing happened. Would not even print a test page. Looked it up and found information that said to uninstall printer and re-install. After searching a long time for the CD - I have been trying to reinstall and it only installed a tiny bit and stopped. It has been trying for the last hour and refuses to install the drivers! Why don't they tell you this ahead of time. This is such a problem. Can anyone help? Thanks

Trying to update Adobe Air and it will get an error and stop.  Tried to uninstall and that will get an error and stop.  Just says error occurred while uninstalling.  or error occurred while installing.. nothing else.

I'm sorry you're running into installation issues with AIR.  Microsoft has released a utility that can help resolve installation problems.  Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you?  When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system.  Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.

  • My Macbook Pro OX S 10.6.8 version will not update!

My Macbook Pro OX S 10.6.8 will not update! I've tried restarting, clearing cookies, checking javascript is turned on, removing 'older versions' of an update, nothing is working. Please help! What else can I do?

I would attempt to do them one-by-one to see if it is one particular update that is hanging it up. I would start with the ones from Apple that are either Security Updates, or Firmware Updates. The ones with the Grey Circle/Arrow in them are important updates, I would attempt to do them first. It may be a bad package from something else that is hanging it up.
If you can successfully install the crucial updates, then afterwards I would try doing all of them.
Also is it just attempting to install but then when you reboot it is still saying you have to update? Or is it giving you an error message about updating?
