Acrobat X Pro converting Outlook Folders to PDF

I'm having an issue (Or more specifically one of my users is.)
He has a process flow of exporting EMail folders to PDF when he is done with a related project.
This keeps his mailbox small and his projects easy to reference.
Recently when he tries to convert a folder to a PDF it seems to succeed.
All of the e-mails are readable, but it breaking/corrupting attached documents where it used to neatly embed them into the relevant PDFs.
They still show up with the correct names and file extensions, they still show that the PDF has an attachment.
When we attempt to open it however the documents don't work with what ever their native program may have been.
(Usually blueprints or the like.)
He accesses Outlook and Acobat Pro through a Citrix farm.
Is there any settings or permissions I should be looking at to ensure this works correctly for him?
I haven't been able to find the root cause.
Thanks in advance,
Broken Syntax

How are you creating your PDF from Excel? Are you using the PDFMaker macro or the Adobe PDF printer?

  • Acrobat 9 Pro converting multimedia files in PDF Portfolio

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and it says that it can convert multimedia files in a PDF portfolio
but when I try to convert wmv files in gives me a conversion error. The user's guide clearly outlines that this program can convert multimedia files - MOV, AVI and WMV files to PDF files within a PDF Portfolio. Am I missing something? Why won't this work?

You have not indicated what version of AA9 or OS you have. The current version is 9.5.5. You can do updates from the Help menu usually. If that fails, download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install them in order.

  • Cant' convert outlook messages to pdf

I am trying to convert outlook messages to pdf. The first message converts fine. Every subsequent message fails to convert. The progress bar starts and then quickly disappears. I have to close and open outlook to convert messages to pdf messages again. I am using Acrobat Standard 7 and Outlook 2003 on windows xp.

    Hi TisaMarisa,
The PDFMaker may have been disable in your Outlook.
    To enable it open Outlook.
Click on > Tools > Trust Center
Choose Add-Ins in the list on the left side of the Trust Center window. Choose Disabled Items in the Manage pop-up menu at the bottom of the Trust Center window. Click Go.
Look in the Disabled Items list for Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In.
If Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In is in the list, then select it, click Enable, and click Close. Then close and reopen the Office 2007 application.
Hope this will resolve your issue.

Update automatically under which circumstances, exactly?

  • Question re Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and distributing fillable PDFs

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro and created a fillable PDF (with a great deal of help from George Johnson!!). I now find out that because of licensing constrictions I can only send and receive 500 fillable PDFs (or maybe it's a total of 500 sent and received fillable PDFs, it's unclear to me). After doing some research it seems that Acrobat 9 Pro Extended comes with LiveCycle. Does that mean that I can send out and receive more than 500 fillable PDFs? I can't find any documentation and it's too late to call Adobe tech, so just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head. Thanks much.

What are you actually trying to do? Don't forget that Acrobat is not really an editor, but provides some tools to allow minor edits. If the file has security set, you may no be able to do anything.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Converting PDF to JPEG

I had to reinstall my acrobat 9 pro after my hard drive had to be reformatted. When it was installed previously on my old hard drive, I never had issues with converting a pdf file to a jpeg.  Since the new installation that option does not work anymore.  I tried to repair the installation, but to no avail.  Thanks for some help on this issue!

  • Acrobat XI Pro converting webpage to pdf not accurate

I am having issues (along with several other users in my company) with converting a webpage to pdf using IE11.  The page converts with no issues, however the alignment of the text is incorrect.  The paragraphs have a hanging indent on all lines except the first.  It looks like there are one to two spaces added to the beginning of the lines.  This happens on every webpage I convert. I need to be able to convert webpages accurately.  This did not happen with Acrobat X Pro.  I have tried disabling all add-ins in IE except Adobe with no luck.  I tried looking for settings within Acrobat, I could not find anything.  How do I get webpages to convert correctly/accurately?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    My computer specs:
    Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
    Acrobat XI Pro v11.0.09
    Internet Explorer v11.0.9600.17420CO

Fundamentally what lands in the PDF is determined by what the HTML, the associated style sheet(s) & any scripting provides. When or if there are inadequacies Acrobat uses heuristics provided by the programmer(s) (which may well be simply what the programmer feels is ok).
Typically the fix is in the web page.
    Be well...

  • Acrobat 11 Standard Office 2010 Pro Convert Word documents to PDF not working

    Adobe community,
I can create PDF's inside Word 2010 using the Acrobat Add-in but right clicking a Word document or dragging a Word document into Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard does not work. I have updated both Acrobat 11 and Office 2010 with the latest updates available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi markl16215442,
In order to convert word document to PDF by right-clicking or dragging the file, you must have Adobe PDF printer installed.
For Windows, please check that Adobe PDF is set as default printer under "Start > Devices and Printers"
While for MAC, Adobe PDF printer option is no more available and as it was removed with some changes in Apple's policy regarding virtual printers.
So, check with your OS and then let me know.
    Regards,
    Anubha

  • Adobe acrobat 9 Pro Convert to PDF Access Denied for users

I recently installed IE 9 on my computer (windows 7 ultimate 64 bit). From this moment on I cannot convert web page to pdf. I am getting " permission denied", code 0.
    Can anyone help me?

    Good day astryian,
Acrobat 9's development was completed while IE8 was still in beta.  The PDFMaker Add-in from Acrobat 9 was never designed for use with IE9.  You may want to try printing to the Adobe PDF printer from IE9 instead.  If the results you receive contain either missing or garbled text, please refer to the following knowledgebase document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/896/cpsid_89623.html
    Thank you,

  • Adobe Acrobat X - convert outlook email to pdf and include attachments as pdf

Is there a way to save an Outlook email as a PDF and include attachments as extra pages within the same PDF? I know I can convert an email to PDF and it will include the attachments as links.  My end users feel that their clients won't understand the link feature, and/or the paper clip on the side pane.  They'd rather convert an email and have it's attachments converted also, making the pdf an email message + converted attachments....all in one process.  The only way currently is to open each attachment and convert them individially, then combine the email pdf and attachment pdf together.  Too many steps involveed there.
    make sense?
    Thanks,
    Jon Wooten

Same question here, but for Lotus Notes!! Seems ridiculously simple.

  • Converting Outlook mails to PDF is very unreliable

I recently bought Acrobat XI Pro in order to archive my large Outlook mailbox.
Problem is, it works alright for single mails or small folders with <200 mails.
If I try to select all folders I am interested in and set this up using the Selected Folders option in the PDF ribbon, it gives me a message, that these are lots of mails (~6000) and might take a while.
When I click OK it starts, but after a few minutes either the progress bar simply disappears and nothing has happened, or Outlook restarts.
Also I noted, that with the progress bar still running there is almost no activity in the task manager, as if nothing is happening.
Any ideas? Is there a good and a wrong way of doing this?
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same server

We have installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro- English,Francais,Deutsch version 10.1.9 in our test environment and tried  testing it for converting SAP pages into PDF with a few pilot users. In doing so we faced a challenge, where only one user at a time can use Adobe Acrobat PRO to convert SAP pages in to PDF.As long as the first user who  is connected to Adobe Acrobat Pro via SAP isn’t logged off, other users connected to the same  server  are not being able to get the “Save As” dialog box to save the PDF in their preferred location.
This is a business requirement and we need an urgent solution for the same. Can anyone help us in telling us if this is possible and if yes the how to go about?

It's not something we deal with here, the LiveCycle products are a different world. Key points: Adobe LiveCycle is a range of products, some desktop, some server. LiveCycle PDF Generator is the one you should look at, it comes in 3 editions. License terms are by negotiation. Key management is via its Java API.
