Activate wireless wan popup

I just bought a refurbished x60 running windows xp pro.  I have activated my sierra wireless card with verizon for 1x-EVDO service. However, I still get the annoying pop-up message every startup to "activate wireless wan".
Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wiggles, welcome to the forum,
a little more information might help members help you; which operating system do you have installed?  Did you install the system manually or is it a factory install?
Thanks

  • X301 and Vodafone and AT&T Wireless WAN (HSPA) Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)

Ok, I (Lenovo) did it again.
System Update showed me this update: "Vodafone and AT&T Wireless WAN (HSPA) Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)".
As I'm using Vodafone and I had a AT&T driver, I decided to update.
The result is, that now the GPS doesn't work.
Yes, I'm in a place where the GPS signal is present (my house, with the previous driver I was able to get 6/7 satellites).
What happens? Lenovo TV GPS stays there trying to fix the satellites, but nothing happens. I can't recover the system to a previous state, as I updated Flash player too, and Windows only show me the possibility to roll back this update.
So, apart advicing everyone not to update, I kindky ask:
    - where can I found the previous driver? I searched the web without success...
    - why does Lenovo deploy driver which can cause problems (I just had one updating the BT driver last week! .msi installer problem, error 1935...)?
    Thanks to everyone

Ok, I found in the Net the drive 7uw706ww.zip, which is Version 6.1.4.2, while the updated version is 6.1.10.5 (7UW708WW).
I tried again the GPS, and it wasn't working.
Anyway, before downgrading, I tried to reinstall the new driver, downloading and installing the .exe instead going through System Update.
Result: now GPS is working (same place, same conditions, just 5 minutes later)!
Don't know where the difference is...

  • T410-CTO - Wireless and Wireless WAN disappear from Fn+F5

    Hi guys,
I normally use my laptop on home wireless network (WIFI).
Sometimes, I connect to the Ethernet (cable) to update some programs.
However, every times I switch from WIFI to Cable and back, the Wireless and Wireless WAN otpions disappears from the Connection Manager (Fn+F5). The only way to get it back is to shutdown and turn the laptop back on.
    Any idea?

I solved my problem by uninstall and reinstall WLAN driver and AC (maybe other related drivers, don't quite remember). The sequence of uninstall/install is important, I think you need to uninstall AC first, and install it last.

  • NB100 Wireless WAN System-LED

If I press Fn+Wireless WAN Key, t he WAN SYSTEM LED is not visible. Is this quite usual? The
bluetooth sign shines red. Is it necessary that the WAN Key shines green if I will conect to my w-lan router?

Hi. New to the forum. Brought an NB 100 one week ago (Windows XP) .
Have had no problem for one week connecting wireless. I still have the orange light and wireless is showing as activated however it will not connect. All other computers connecting as usual. Any ideas? Nothing has changed.
Should I just take it back to the shop and get another one as I brought it specifically for travelling and working away?
    Thanks.

  • X61 3G Wireless WAN Configuration

    Deal All,
Does anybody knows how to configure the 3G Wireless WAN Setting?
I understand that there is a Sim Card Slot behind the laptop, but don't know how to configure it.
    Anybody can help?
    Thanks..

Yes you need a WWAN card too, preferably one on the X61 BIOS 'whitelist', and the antenna.
If you configured your X61 with the WWAN card, then there is already a SIM card ready to be activated, and the provider's connection manager (AT&T in the USA) will have been installed for you in the factory. There is normally an activation nag which appears every couple of restarts.
The SIM card is under the same cover as the memory cards.
If you did not factory configure the WWAN, you can add it later, but it is a pain. Not only do you need a WWAN card, but you need to install the antenna around the screen. It's possible, but not easy. If you use a WWAN card which is not on the BIOS whitelist, you need a hacked BIOS.
I totally recommend getting the WWAN setup configured when you buy an X61, even if you only think you MIGHT need it in the future. It is not that easy to add later.

  • X201 Wireless WAN Status indicator is always on (this laptop has no 3G option)

Recently received my new laptop, X201, Win 7 Pro 32bits. Since I boot it up for the first time, I noticed this curious status LED with the antenna shape which was turned on constantly. Today poking at the technical manual I see it is the "Wireless WAN Status Indicator".
I bought this machine with no wireless WAN / 3G option. Also, Wireless WAN does not show up as an option when pressing Fn-F5. Definitely this machine has no Wireless WAN.
So why is this indicator lighted up all the time? burning battery... Anybody else seeing the same? Anyway I can turn this LED off for good?
    Tips welcome. Thanks

    Bump
looks like nobody has noticed this issue? wondering if anyone with an X201 *without* wireless-WAN could confirm what they see...

  • How do I activate wireless for Mac OS 10.4.11 with...

Hi, I ran through the wireless wizard on BT.com and it said I do not have wireless. I believe the home hub I have is activated for wireless but what do I need to do to activate it on Mac OS 10.4.11? Do I need an AirPort card or something? Am I better off first upgrading to Mac OS Leopard?
Sorry, I am new to wireless and a bit baffled by it all.
    Adam

I would think that one of the Apple forums would be the best place to get advice on which type of wireless adpater to use, if there is not one already installed.
There are a few MAC users on this forum, so you may get a reply from on of those, once you specify which actual Apple MAC machine you are actually using.

  • Router to support Wireless WAN Link

    Greetings,
Here is what I would like to do.
-On a mobile platform (RV), I want to be able to park within range of a wifi hotspot and to connect a router to the hotspot and to route traffic from my internal network over the wifi 'wan'. So, rather than connecting clients via wifi, I want to be able to connect the router wirelessly to supply the clients with a route to the internet.
    Is this 'bridging'?
    What router(s) will support this?
    TIA
    Charlie

While i can not think of a true router per se for this, you could go another route.
Take a PC (could even be as low as a P II) with a wireless card int it, put in at least one Nic (or more depending on how your internal network is set up), install Linux on it, and do the routing from the linux ip tables.
A real easy way to do this, would just put smoothwall on the PC (Linux based firewall), and you could use that to configure the IP tables, plus add security for your network!
    Hope this helps

  • Can't activate wireless card in OEL5

    Hi All,,,
i have installed oracle enterprise linux 5.3, and my laptop has intel wifi 5100 wireless card which is not active.
i have tried ndiswrapper 1.54 everything was installed fine,,,,when i type "ndiswrapper -l"...
it displays device present,,,but still my wireless card is not active,,,although it scans the wireless networks when i issue "iwlist wlan0 scan" command..
I have also copied the intel driver microcode in /lib/firmware...
it even connects to one of the wireless networks.....which has no key...but when i try to activate the card.....it says
Error for wireless request "Set Mode"(8B06):
SET failed on device wlan0;invalid argument.
Determining IP information failed for wlan0
    output of ndiswrapper -l command:
    netw5v32:driver installed
device (8086:4243) present (alternate driver: iwlagn)
Also at the time of shutting down Linux.....it says shutting down wlan0 interface: ACPI PCI interrupt for this device is disabled....
    is anything wrong with this?
    thanks.....please help...

I have yet to see a legal document from Microsoft which says it is OK to run a windows driver on a Linux system, so I never touch anything concerning the ndiswrapper.
The but it almost works for me is a tempting siren's call, but unless you can debug the Windows driver you can spend much time pursuing frustration.
You would be far better served (saving both time and money) to buy a wireless card supported by Linux.

  • T410 - Gobi2000 Wireless WAN disaapeared from Device Manager???

I got the Gobi 2000 WWAN built-in, was working fine until ...yesterday. The card just got disappear from Device Manager, and Wireless Led is always lit although I turn off the Wireless LAN and Bluetooth. It also disappear from Access Connection which I was using to turn it on yesterday!!! gr.... thing just get vaporized????
I reinstalled Gobi2000 Driver, reinstall Access Connection (both are with latest driver)... still did not get it back to work... I have also checked in BIOS settings, all Wireless Radio is enable...
I noticed this after I did some Lenovo updates with something like Windows 7 patches...(can't remember what patches exactly...). Thing was working fine just yesterday!!!
    I am running on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit
Do you think this is a hardware failure or software related? What should I do?
    Thanks

I find when devices "disappear" from device manager (and there are no other unknown devices that exist that need proper drivers)  they are disabled in the BIOS, or the hardware has failed.
I had the same thing that occured with the bluetooth.. it was always enabled in the bios, and just disappeared from the device manager, and access control menu. It had to be replaced which fixed the problem.
You could try reseating the WWAN card (with the power disconnected and battery removed).

  • Can not activate wireless

I just purchased the wvc210 camera and gone through the set up proceedure, but when I power down and disconnect the ethernet cable and power
back up the wireless will not light up or connect to my router. HELP

    Hi Gary,
Thank you for posting. Please make sure that you have the correct SSID and security passphrase. The best way to do this is to copy and paste it from the router. That being said, when you power the camera on without the ethernet cable I believe the wireless light should at least flash a few times to indicate that it is looking for your wireless network. If it finds it and connects the light should stay green. You can also verify that the LEDs are enabled in the web interface. It is common to disable those lights after the camera is fully configured. If the lights are enabled and you don't see the wireless light flash at all, the wireless module may not be functioning properly. If that is the case, please call Cisco Small Business Support for troubleshooting assistance. You can find a number here: www.cisco.com/go/sbsc

  • T400 Wireless Wan/Mobile Broadband device not found

Using T400 and check the parts in lenovo site; shows only WLAN 5100 CARD and no WWLAN card. What do I to have this working?

I couldn't find your system on the support site, maybe it's too new. Are you sure that you ordered with WWAN and not an upgradeable T400? All systems will have the SIM slot.
Go to this site and enter your type and serial numbers, then click on continue. This will present you with a list of components used to build your system, hopefully a WWAN module will be listed.
Please do NOT post your s/n in the forum.

  • Ericsson wireless wan (win8)

    Hi!
    I've installed the Ericsson H5321 drivers 8.0.8.4 (g7wo06ww.exe)
Now in Device Manager I see an MbmLowext (with yellow triangle)  appearing and disappearing.
In lenovo connection manageunder Tools Mobile Broadband and WiMax are grey.
Where can I find instruction to properly install the Ericsson H5321?
Windows 8 64bit here on Windows 7 64 bit it ran fine.

This one integrates better with Windows 8 than the one on our driver matrix :
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029034
It's for T430s but still for the F5521gw and is from the 7.X series not the 6.X we have on our driver page.
Having said that there's an even newer one on that page (T430s driver matrix) for the H5321 which is essentially our card but half the size, but for some obscure reason they have seen fit to not have that driver work for the F5521 however it is Windows 8 compatible.
