ActiveDirectory Connector - Department Feild

Hi All,
I am using OIM 11gR2 and activedirectory-11.1.1.5.0 Connector for AD
As it is mentioned that there is a difference in the "Character Lengths of Target System Fields and Process Form Fields" as under
Department, UD_ADUSER_DEPARTMENT, 40 and in AD it is department, 64
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22999_01/doc.111/e20347/app_fieldlengths.htm#BEIECGGM
I have performed the procedure to change the length of the above field as mentioned in the connector documentation, the issue is that as soon as i save the form and make it avtive the lenth reverts back to the 40 in setad of 64.
is it some bug in the 11gR2? since I have done this in the 11gR1 and it was fine there.
please let me know if anyone else having this issue got it resolved .....

Ok… for the record,
I had to do it the hard way.
A – In Design Console
1-     Delete the Department field Map from the AD User Process Definition.
2-     Delete the Department from AD User Resource Object.
3-     Create new version of the form UD_ADUSER form.
4-     Delete the Department field from the same form.
B- In Backend Database
1- Alter Table UD_ADUSER and Drop the Department Column.
C- Back to Design Console
1-     Create new version of the UD_ADUSER form.
2-     Add column Department with Length 64.
3-     Add the Department in the AD User Resource Object and press the “Create Reconciliation Profile” Button.
4-     Map the Department in the AD User Process Definition to UD_ADUSER_DEPARTMENT.
5-     Activate this form (created in point 1 above).
D- In the Webconsole sysadmin URL
1-     Create a Sandbox.
2-     Open AD Application instance.
3-     Create new Form.
4-     Apply this form.
Run the reconciliation I hope it works for you others as well.

  • AD Connector Patch 11.1.1.5.0A (AD connector patch 14190610)

    hi all,
    I am having OIM 11gR2 (11.1.2.0).
I have a confusion about applying patch for AD connector 11.1.1.5.0.
I need to know that in the Patch download zip file (AD connector patch 14190610) there are many folders that are same as available in AD connector 11.1.5.0, in the read me file for this patch there is no mentioning of what to do with the rest of the folders, its only saying
*"1)On the Target where connector server is Installed.*
*Unzip the content of the bundle ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380.zip to the folder where Connector server is installed."*
    on the connector download page
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/id-mgmt/downloads/connectors-101674.html
for AD connector mentioned is that
*"Please apply AD connector patch 14190610 after downloading from MOS (My Oracle Support) if you are using this connector against OIM 11.1.2.0 or above."*
So it means that its a patch only not the full connector so then what is the use of the rest of the folders (configuration, dataset, owglue, resources, upgrade, xml) provided in that patch zip file other then the "bundle ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380.zip"
Do we need to run the "Upgrade Connector" after the installation of Connector 11.1.1.5.0 ?
    any comments
    Thanks...

    Hi,
Even I couldn't find one, so I guess there isn't one. So, what I did was install new connector server in the same windows box running on different port and switched the OIM configuration to use it. My environment is running fine after this change.
    Regards,
    Sunny

In the troubleshooting section of the guide, couple of reasons for this exception are mentioned. Maybe you can browse through them.
    Troubleshooting

  • Predefined AD connector User provisioning issue

    Hi,
I have downloaded the connector for Active directory : activedirectory-11.1.1.5.0.zip from oracle.
I followed the steps from the following guide to deploy the pre defined connector but I am getting the following error.
    Resource Name:      AD User
    Description:
    *User:              Sample Test [SAMPLETEST]*
    Status:           Rejected
    Response:     ICFINTEGRATION_EXCEPTION
    Response Description:     Unknown response received
    Notes:
*Assigned to User      :      System Administrator[XELSYSADM]*
    Error Details
Setting task status... "ICFINTEGRATION_EXCEPTION" does not correspond to a known Response Code. Using "UNKNOWN".
Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance for help
    Thanks and Regards,
    Prasad Shinde

  • How install Connector Server in IDM 8.1

    Hi,
I have problem with installation of Connector Server.
1.I downloaded .msi package and made installation of Connector Server Windows Service Installer v1.0 on same server as IDM 8.1. Also .NET 3.5 was installed.
2.After that I downloaded ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.0.0.4521.zip and extracted all .dll files into Conector server directory.
3.Also I restarted conector server service.
4.After that I opened IDM and tried to find page Configure->Connector Servers. But no page like this was appeared. I was logged as Configurator (with full permission). [See my menu|http://meloun.ic.cz/tmp/idm/connector_server.png]
    Where could be problem?
For downloading of connector server I used [this page|https://identityconnectors.dev.java.net/downloads.html] .
For setting I used [this page|https://identityconnectors.dev.java.net/idm_info.html] and [this page|https://identityconnectors.dev.java.net/connector_server.html]
    thanks for tips
    Petr

Sorry for delay. It's fresh installation.
I'm not sure about right version of my MySQL Server - it's 5.0.51b and MySQL client is 5.1.11. Apache Tomcat Server is 6.0.18.
Is Product registration required for this feature?
    thanks

  • AD 11g Connector Server issue

    Experts,
We are trying to install the .net connector server for AD 11.1.1.5.0 connector server using 32 bit Windows 2003 server.
    But after this step:
From the installation media, copy and extract contents of the
    bundle/ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380.zip file to the
    CONNECTOR_SERVER_HOME directory.
when I try to start connector server, it does not get started.
I was able to configure same steps when I used 64 bit Windows 2008 Server for Connector server.
Is there any constraint to use 64 bit Windows box for Connector Server to be used for AD 11.1.1.5.0 connector?
    Regards,
    J

It should work on both, as per certification document.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22999_01/doc.111/e20347/intro.htm#BABGDDEE
Just check if your Windows 2003 has SP1. If not, access info in above document.
    regards,
    GP

  • Change in AD connector 11.1.1.5.0

    Hi,
I have installed AD connector 11.1.1.5.0 recently. I have noticed that it requires creating 2 resource if you want to run the Trusted Recon (AD User Trusted) as well as Target Recon (AD User).
If AD is required as trusted Resource then the AD Resource Lookup should be :
    A ) Lookup.Configuration.ActiveDirectory.Trusted
And if you want to use AD as target Resource then AD Resource Lookup should be:
    B) Lookup.Configuration.ActiveDirectory
So if AD is your trusted Resource and you also want to have AD User recon in you IDM then you have to create 2 Resources one for Trusted Recon with Lookup A) and 2nd for Target Resource with Lookup B) mentioned above.
Whereas in previous AD connectors (9.x.x) there was no need to crate 2 separate resource, it seems like Oracle has kind of forced NOT to use trusted source as target source?
Please correct me if I am wrong in my understanding.

Thanks Guys ...the issue was with .net framework on windows machine. I have installed 3.5.1 .net framework and get past this error. Now i am getting connectorKey(bundleName=ActiveDirectory.Connector bundleVersion=1.1.0.6380 connectorName= Org.IdentityConnectors.ActiveDirectory.ActiveDirectoryConnector) not found
My connector Server home directory is C:\Program Files(X86)\Identity Connectors\Connector Server. I have unzip the ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380.zip file and copied the ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380 folder under connector server but issue still remains same. I have even copied all the content of the ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380 folder and paste them directly in the connector server folder but still the issue is same. I have restarted the connector server after every instance. Am i missing anything in this step?

  • Exchange 2010 and Active Directory connector

Has anyone managed to provision an exchange 2010 mailbox with the dotnet connector bundle in the latest patch OW8.1.1.1/145769-01? ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.0.0.5143.zip and Exchange.Connector-1.0.0.5757.zip.
Provisioning the Active Directory account works fine but as soon as I add an exchange attribute I get an error: java.lang.RuntimeException: The specified directory service attribute or value does not exist. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007200A)
I checked everything I could think of. Either I'm missing something obvious or it does not work.
    Greetings,

Have you had any luck with this?

Customer have tried to involve Microsoft with them through a third party technical support company but microsoft was not able to apply anything since they have tried to apply some scripts but those scripts would take
    3 days without finishing.
The first time the Dirsync was applied it took 1 week without finishing until now they were not able to apply a full import and export sync.
What have really got me interested is that Microsoft did not suggest to the customer to upgrade his FIM (ForeFront Identity Manager)'s old version
    to the latest one.
Customer is using Full SQL deployment on a dedicated server and DirSync (FID) on a separate server too. The deployed servers are virtual and have 32
GB ram and 200 GB HDD size and 4 cores.
I have recommended to this customer that we do not touch this current deployment since Microsoft themselves couldn't do anything in regard, but what
we could do is take a virtual snapshot and then apply the upgrade and see if this resolves the issue or not?
    Note:
Microsoft talked to them about a limited number of synchronized items to their Azure site per week! I am not sure about this but what the customer
said is that they change approximately about 25,000 user object per day.
Could this issue happens because of this limit?
    Thanks

Besides the large number of objects in the system, which I am not sure DirSync can handle, I suggest you separate the failing step from other steps in the RunProfile.
    So, if you have a step that does Delta Import and Delta Sync, separate into 2 steps;
    Best,
