Activity type exchange rate

we have one production order, activity type : machine, I confirm 2 hours in Sep.12, in co03, activity cost is 20 MYR, because 1 hour 10 MYR,
my group currency is USD,  in controling area currency, we use grp currency USD. USD/MYR=3.1 for sept. 30. but when I display controling area currency USD, it becomes 5 USD, USD/MYR=4, I don't why system didn't take USD/MYR=3.1(month end rate), where can we find the exchange rate type for order confirmation(activity confirmation)?  Thanks

Hi Jolin
The behaviour is correct
1. If Your Plan version specifies P as the exch rate...
2. Activity Conf during the month happen at Plan price and Plan price is always based on exch rate in the Version 0
3. Actuals always use M as exch rate... So, material issues will all happen at M
4. All FI postings will also use M
5. When you calculate KSII (Act Price) at period end, check "Iterate amounts independenlty" in KSII "Settings"
6. With this, the amounts as posted in Cost Center Currency will be used w/o any sort of conversion
Hope this helps

  • Addl LC Activated, No Exchange Rate Differences Posting on AP Invoice

We set up a new Company Code for India.  The CoCode is configured as USD.  We have configured INR as an Additional Local Currency (LC2) for statutory reporting.  The INR is configured as 'Hard Currency'.
Since going live, we've come to learn that paying USD invoices is not generating INR exchange gains/losses with changes in exchange rate between INR and USD.  When I look at a clearing document, both lines are posted at the historical invoice exchange rate.
For the statutory accounting to be correct, I would have expected the AP payment document to clean the vendor line at the invoice exchange rate and the offset line to post at the current exchange rate.  I would have then expected a third line to the payment document with the offset to exchange gain/loss.  The exchange gain/loss line would post with a USD amount zero with an INR amount in the Hard Currency/LC2 field.
I believe the Open Item configuration (TransCode OBA1, KDF item) is correct.  The Currency Type is 'BLANK'; therefore, good for all Currency Types including the Hard Currency.
I can't figure out what the heck I'm missing!  Anyone have any idea why the clearing AP invoice is not generating the exchange gains/losses as expected?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Gordon,
    When you say
"With this version, you probably have very few options"
Does this mean with SAP B1 2007 the same problems are not there.
Please say its so and i'll upgrade immediately as I'm experiencing the same problem as the one described above by Claudio
We use one exchange rate per month. We have BP accounts whose currency is Multi Currency this is where the customer would pay either in LC (KES) or SC (USD).
The problem occurs when running conversion differences, the journal entry to the unrealized exchange gain\loss is one-sided i.e. only the SC currency is posted.
This leads to both the P&L and the Trial balances being wrong.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

  • Error when calling MRM_INVOICE_PARK - Rate type/exchange rate

    Greetings gurus-
When calling MRM_INVOICE_PARK, we receive an error when trying to make a simple update that adds a payment block to a pre-existing invoice.
The error is: Enter rate THB / USD rate type M for 00.00.0000 in the system settings
We only get this error when we have a vendor set up to use withholding tax, and only when we park. If we post the invoice directly or park an invoice without withholding tax we don't see this issue.
I have entered the configuration in transaction OB08, and I believe I have the withholding tax configuration done properly, has anyone seen a similar issue before, or can you point me to where I might be missing some config that resolved the issue?
    Thank you,

  • How rate is calculated for activity types

    Hi Gurus,
There is activity type XYZ created and when in do KB21N and enter the cost center and activity type the rate is calculated.
I do not know where is the rate maintained. It is coming 27.96 hence how the system is taking 27.96 rate for 1 Qty.
    Regards.

Planned Activity rates are calcualted in KPSI and updated in KP26. Actual rates are calculated in KSII and can be viewed in KBK7.
Please check the rate in KP26 for the period/cost center/activity combination

  • Interal Acticivties - Exchange Rate Type

    Hi experts,
When I check the Cost report of an internal activity form CJ20N (Ctrl+F11) I do not understand which currency rate is picking when I ask to show the cost in the Controlling area currency.
When I check the same report for cost activities the exchange is being done properly.
    Could you help me?
    thanks

Thanks, but that's not the issue as the cost in the Controlling Area Currency matches with the rate informed in KP26. The issue is when we displayed it in the object currency. We do not know from were is taking the exchange rate.
If we do the same, check the cost, for a Cost Activity the exchange rate between Control Area Currency and Object Curreny is correct.
We are really lost with this problem, any other idea?
    Thanks

  • Exchange Rate difference posting during MIRO posting

    Hi ,
We are facing an issue for exchange rate difference posting during MIRO.
PO creation , GR posting & IR posting done on same date. Vendor in PO has different currency than company code currency. Exchange rate maintained in OB08 for this period is taken in PO.
PO value & GR value is same. Due to raw material cost there was price difference posted during GR posting.
(i.e. Raw material cost - GR/IR value = Price difference amount)
During posting MIGO, 3 accounts got posted.
Raw material cost account got debited & offset credit to GR/IR account & price difference account (in vendor & company code currency also)
During posting MIRO, 4 accounts got posted.
Vendor account got credited with GR/IR amount & offset to GR/IR account debit.
Exchange rate difference account got credited & offset to price difference account (in company code currency only)
Since PO creation , GR posting & IR posting done on same date, then why system has posted exchange rate difference account in local currency only during MIRO posting ?
    Your inputs appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
there is a setting in configuration of logistics invoice verification where you can control the calculation and posting of exchange rate differences. If you had the setting active that exchange rate differences are calculated against a planned exchange rate, that might lead to the kind of postings you describe. Please check.

    Hi ,
While trying to create a sales order , I get an error "Condition YAGC : Error in converting exchange rate from KGAG to EUR." while trying to change the amount and the currency for the pricing condition YAGC.By default the currency comes up as EUR per 1 kg.I try to change it to KGAG (This is a currency code defined for our requirement).I have maintained the currency type , exchange rates from General Settings->Currencies->Check currency codes , General Settings->Currencies->Check exchange rate types. My ideal situation should be .02100 KGAG per 1 KG.Right now I am only able to do 1 EUR per 1KG as there is an error from KGAG to EUR conversion. What am I missing ? Should I maintain something in the pricing condition YAGC or in the procedure RVAA01 ? Kindly suggest.Thanks.

  • How i can give date in each input for applying the exchange rate in Query.

    Hi Gurus,
We have a requirement to create some currency conversion queries. In the selection screen user should be able to give four inputs. Like given below
    Input 1.          a)  key figures
                            b) Fiscal Year
                            c) Fiscal Period
                            d) Exchange Rate Type
                            e) Date (Exchange rate will be applied which is applicable on the given date)
      Input 2.         a)  key figures
                            b) Fiscal Year
                            c) Fiscal Period
                            d) Exchange Rate Type
                            e) Date (Exchange rate will be applied which is applicable on the given date)
    Input 3.          a)  key figures
                            b) Fiscal Year
                            c) Fiscal Period
                            d) Exchange Rate Type
                            e) Date (Exchange rate will be applied which is applicable on the given date)
    Input 4.          a)  key figures
                            b) Fiscal Year
                            c) Fiscal Period
                            d) Exchange Rate Type
                            e) Date (Exchange rate will be applied which is applicable on the given date)
So we will have 4 key figures in the query results with the exchange rate applied on the given date.
I will make four restricted key figures and make the query. I do not know how i can give date in each input for applying the exchange rate.
Please give your suggestions to resolve my problem.
    Many thaks in advance.

You can not bring the key figures in the selection screen for the currency translation. Instead you can apply a currency translation type to respective key figures in the query definition.
The currency translation type can be defined in RSCUR transaction, where you can maintain the parameters like Exchange Rate Type, Exchange Rate Date etc.

  • CA03 tcode customization of workcenter, activity type

    Hello Expert,
In CA03 Transaction Code, there are fields like Operating, workcenter, plant , control Key, Activity Type etc..
I just want to know where these all customization can be done want to check cost center and activity hours for one article.
where we assign operating, workcenter, plant, control key, Activity type ???
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sujeet

    Dear Sujeet,
1.Work center and routing are also the master datas for PP Module.
2.Work center is the place at which the individual operations are carried out and its created using CR01.
3.Each work center will be linked to a cost center in the costing tab.
4.Before making this assignment, for a combination of cost center and activity type the activity per hour
rate will be maintained in KP26 for the periods.
5.If for the same activity type different rates are to be maintained means, then it can assigned to a
    different cost center only.
6.One work center can be linked only to one cost center.
7.one cost centers can be linked to several work centers.
8.Cost centers will be created using KS01 and activity types using KL01.
9.While creating routing using CA01,for each operation a work center must be assigned. It means that
particular operation will be done in the mentioned work center.
10.Control key can be assigned either directly in the work center or else in the routing manually it can
    be added or changed.
11.A control key tells the whether an operation is relevant to scheduling, costing, capacity
    requirements,qualtity insepction characteristics.
12.Control key configuration can be made in OP67.
13.OP5A is for configuring the routing.
14.OPFA is for configuring the work center fields.

  • Settings for exchange rate gain/loss

In our config, for exchange rate gain /loss between ex rate in bill of lading and ex rate of actual payment , system passes two entries at the time of clearing advance and invoice in f-44. One entry is for gain and other for loss , net effect of the entries is either gain or loss . We wish to change the settings so that syatem shall pass only one entry be it gain or loss. How to achieve this??

    Dear,
in my opinion the issue You're facing is due to the split activation for exchange rate.
Usually due to different account assignment in open item, the exchange
rate difference items are split. Check the table V_FAGL_SPLIT_FL2.
    I hope this helps.

  • Use an alternative Exchange Rate Type for activity actual price

    Dear All,
I try to use an alternative Exchange Rate (not M)  in controlling area version "0", I need to use a custom currency exchange rate like in planned price (here I create a new planned version with exchange rate "N").
I find same notes and it seems that standard Sap use only Exchange Rate "M" for actual price but I notice that for example in transaction KB21N (activity allocation) system shows in additional info exchange rate "N" (input in version "0").
Is not possibile to use other Exchange Rate for actual price, activity allocation, for confirmed activity in production order?
Controlling area has currency type 30 (group currency EUR), this company has MXN.
Thanks in advance for your support
    Daria

In KB21N (activity allocation), system uses the exchange rate type you have maintained in controlling area version plan settings (transaction OKEQN). Activity allocation during the month always happen at the planned price maintained in KP26 at the exchange rate specified in plan version. During actual price calculation and revaluation during month end, it calculates actual activity price at (uses M rate to convert to controlling area currency) and revaluates consumption.
I think you cannot use other exchange rate, see the coding in include LKSPIF00 that is used in KSII where currency type is hard coded to M, if this is plan price calculation it's picking tka07-kurst.

  • ERROR in MIRO : An exchange rate type is not defined for country IN

    Experts:
When I try to enter the invoice received from the vendor, I am getting the following message.
An exchange rate type is not defined for country IN
    Message no. FF802
Can anyone provide me a solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Vijai

This is the explanation given in note 974619 for the above error message
    Summary
    Symptom
When you post an FI document, the system issues error message FF 801 or FF 802.
    Other terms
    Plants abroad, FF 801, FF802
    Reason and Prerequisites
You use the 'Plants abroad' function.
See Note 882132 for more information about this.
    Solution
If the 'Plants abroad' function is active, additional fields appear when you maintain the country global parameters (transaction OY01, table T005):
    - Country currency       (Field WAERS)
    - Exchange rate type     (Field KURST)
    - Net discount base      (Field XSKFN)
    - Net tax base           (Field XMWSN)
You must maintain the fields 'Country currency' and 'Exchange rate type'.
Otherwise, the system issues error message FF 801 or FF 802.

  • Exchange rate type for version - error message GP541 during confirmation

    Hi FICO Experts,
I bumped into a problem during confirmation in CO15. (I would like to get the SFG by mvt 101 and consume the raw material by 261).
The error messase I get is:
Maintain the exchange rate type for version 000 in 2009
    Message no. GP541
    Diagnosis
You want to use plan version 000 with controlling area 1000 in fiscal year 2009.
You have not specified an exchange rate type for this plan version for fiscal year 2009. Since the update of all currencies in 2009 is active in the control indicators of the controlling area, currency conversions are possible and sometimes also needed.
It is therefore necessary to specify an exchange rate type for plan version 000 in year 2009.
    System Response
The system will not accept your entry.
    Procedure
    1. Please maintain plan version 000 first using the function 'Change Plan Version', or
    2. correct your typing error.
I'd like to ask you to please help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Csaba

go to Maintain Version at SPRO-Controlling-General Controlling-Organization->Maintan Version and do what ever it says. Provide Exchange rate type P or M would resolve your issue

  • Implications of change of Exchange Rate Type from P to M in Version in CO

    Hi SAP Experts,
We have a requirement to change the exchange rate type in Versions. In fact, exchange rate type P has been configured in Version 0. This version is being used in Costing Variant PPC1. Price updations are being made with this costing variant. Costing Variant PPC2 is being used for internal evaluations. No price updations have been done using this costing variant.
Client wants exchange rate type M in a new version to use in costing variant PPC2. I have created a new version X and assigned exchange rate type M in new version X. I have assigned the same version in Receiver version of Profitability Analysis and Version for indicators actual.allocations in Orders/Projects tab in T-code OKEQ. In Settings for Operating Concern, I have assigned currency type "Operating Concern currency" and exchange rate type M. Cost center activity price planning (KP26) has been done with new version X for all the cost centers.
My question is "Will the above changes affect any Plan or Actual values of other versions existed in the system ?"
Please let me know will there any affect on already planned data in the system with any version.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    K.S.K

I don't think it's going to impact other versions but you may need to do simple test for other versions. One more thing is versions are controlling area specific and the M or P rates will be applied based on value date you setup in OKEQ configuration.
You don't need to assign the version for  'Version for ind.act.alloc.'  indicator until unless you use WBS for project planning. By default it will be assigned to zero version.
    Thanks

  • Default Exchange Rate Type

    Dear All,
If we do not assign any exchange rate type to any document type or customer / vendor master data, the system picks the default 'M' exchange rate type. Can anyone let me know where this default setting has been made and whether this setting can be changed? What if I do not maintain exchange rates for 'M' instead I do it for 'M1'
I have a scenario, wherein I want to make exchange rate type other than 'M' as default and we do not want to make it at the document type level or customer / vendor master data level.
To make things more clear, this is not related to the realignment / foreign currency valuation. This is related to recording of invoice export / import or credit / debit notes..
Can anyone let me know how would this be possible?
    Full points guaranted

    Hi Swapvik,
The exchange rate type always is set "M" as default. The only way to
change the exchange rate type is with the customizing in the document type. If you are running the automatic payment program, you can also select a different exchange rate type. However, for normal document postings (trans. FB01), there is no other solution but to choose a different document type.
    For example:
If you want to use exchange rate type B instead of M, in customizing you have to give Alt Ex.Type as B against M. So that it will take B rate whenever M is applicable. If you want this B rate to be applicable for specific document types then you can do  the same at document type definition itself. Otherwise you can do the same At Payment program level/ Revaluation. These are the only places where exch.type comes into picture.
Please be advised that you can not change the default exchange rate type
for the 1st local currency. The default type for 1st local currency KURST of M cannot be changed. SAP does not allow for customers to setup a company code with an exchenage rate type other than M for the 1st local currency (because this could lead to exchange rate differences in the system which are not allowed).
Exchange rates are defined in SAP at a Global level via transaction OB08. In the IMG documentation for transaction OB08 (path General Settings > Currencies > Enter exchange rates) it explains that:
'The exchange rates apply to all company codes'
'The system uses the type M exchange rates for foreign currency
translation when posting and clearing documents. An entry must exist in
the system for this exchange rate type. The exchange rates apply to ALL
    Company Codes.'
    Hope this information helps.
