Activity values of object K_KA_RPT

Hi all,
I'm working on authorization for t-code KE80. I'v found suspicious activity values of object K_KA_RPT as following:
L0     All functions
L1     Function range level 1
L2     Function range level 2
Would you please explain me about these values? I don't really understand about them.

Hi,
The reason is, that if you have restrictions via particular activities for the object K_KA_RPT (you do not have "*", but "04", "16", "32", etc.), the activities L0, L1, L2 are checked as well. If you do not have any of the L0 - L2 maintained for the K_KA_RPT, the most restricted is taken into account, which leads to restricted menu in the executed report.
If a user doesn't have authority 'L0' and he execute a drilldown report with the output type 'Classic drilldown report', not all functionalities will be available in the executed report.
But the user can navigate via menue: > Extras > More functions > Level 2 in order to get more functions (e.g. Export) - if the user has authority 'L2'.
If the user execute a drilldown report with the output type 'Graphical report-output', authority 'L2' is checked.
If the user hasn't authority 'L2' all functions are displayed in the menue, but e.g. 'Export' is greyed out (inactive).
So, if you want to give the authority to export a report to an user, you have, you have to give him authority 'L2'.

Hi Osman,
The Pros of Auto activation is all objects which do not need any manual configuration will activated. But the problem is in one transport (and in one tpz) you might have some object which needs manual configuration before activation and in this case the auto activation is failed.
So i would suggest not to use auto activation feature for ID. Please refer the below SAP Note

Formula to calculate the last active value in a row?

When using a simpe table, what formula will display the last active value in the row? Some of the cells are blank. I want a column to show the most recent value, which in this case will be the rightmost, non-blank cell.

B2 through J2 are your data
B3 =IF(B2="","",COLUMN())
Fill that to the rest of row 3
A2 =INDEX(B2:J2,MATCH(MAX(B3:J3),B3:J3,1))
If there are no values in the row, the answer will be an error triangle. You can put the IFERROR function around the formula and give it an answer when there is an error.

Passing Values to Object Type Attributes

Hi Experts,
I need to pass values to object type attributes amount,channel and company code from zprogram.
I have got FM 'SWO_INVOKE'.But in this FM how will I pass values to 3 attributes.
I have created object type through SWO1 .Is it necessary to call FM SWO_CREATE before FM 'SWO_INVOKE'.

Hi,
I guess you will have to Initialize business object first by using the function module "SWO_CREATE' and then call the other function module to pass the attributes. I am not sure, but please check by passing the attribute name and value to the tables parameter 'CONTAINER'.
CONTAINER-ELEMENT = <Attribute name>.
CONTAINER-VALUE = <value from the Zprogram>.

It's more of a safety trap within java to handle the "programmers are still humans" exception.

Website needs Microsoft Data Access - Active X Data Objects

I have a number of websites for work that are seem to be built around Internet Explorer. When I try to open them on my Mac at home with Safari, I get message that I pasted below.
I'm thinking this might be related to the fact that when I open them on a PC for the first time it shows a similar message, but Internet Explorer prompts me to download and run "Microsoft Data Access - Active X Data Objects", and then it runs fine.
Based on this I'm assuming it's a lack of these "objects" that are causing this problem. Is there any equivalent to these components for the Mac? Anything I can try to access these websites from my Mac? I've tried using Firefox as well, which has the exact same issue.
Right now I've got to fire up my 2006 PC laptop to use Internet Explorer every time I need access to these sites. I realize I could install windows on my Mac with bootcamp and restart in windows every time I need access, but that seems like a waste just to visit 2 websites. Any advice?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Advanced tab. Enable the develop menu.
In the menu bar click Develop / User Agent.
Try IE 8, 7, or 6.
No guarantees but can't hurt to try. ActiveX requires Windows.........

Javax.activation.UnsupportedDataTypeException: no object DCH for MIME type

hi there
i'm new to javamail and i'm trying to build a sample tool able only to send an e-mail.
i'm connecting to my office mail-server (web-mail). I'm sending from my office's address to an hotmail's address but i always receive the UnsupportedDataTypeException message. The same problem occurs if i mail to another user of web-mail
Have someone already encountered this problem?

Oracle Reporting Active X control object

Whether somebody can adduce an example of use of the Oracle Reporting Active X control object in a form (Forms 6)? I tried to insert this object into the form - but nothing turns out.

ActiveX is only supported by C/S previous versions of Forms (until version 6). It won't work with Web versions. You have to search/find a Java Bean equivalent.

For Grant nnnnnn, specify a value for object FUND error -Urgent

I work in SRM area and my knowledge of Grants management is almost nil. We have a PO in SRM which has account assignment associated with a Workorder and Fund. When we look at the Grant it has all green lights and is confirmed by our FI/CO team everything is correct. But since R/3 is giving this message "For Grant nnnnnn, specify a value for object FUND" , I am sure there is something missing somewhere. Some additional information, the PO is from last fiscal year but it was changed for account assignment this fiscal year. But we checked the Fund itself is valid for some more time to come.
Any ideas on which transaction codes to see, what to look at etc. will be appreciated.

Hi Manjula,
You have been facing this issue becuase the sequence of the fields while mapping them is not perfect, hence the 0date field is capturing some other data rather than picking the exact date value.
Check the order of fields and match it with the file (if you are loading data from a flat file)
Also, have a look at the weblog which talks about general mistakes in loading from file.

Function modules upon activation of locked objects?

What are the names of the functional modules that will be generated upon activation of locked objects?

Prior to creating setting any locks in an ABAP program, a lock objects must be created in the ABAP dictionary.
When the lock object is created, the system will automatically generated the two function modules required for locl management.
The First function module used to set locks is the ENQUEUE_<lock Object Name>. This function module is used to generate a lock entry in the lock table. If the lock cannot be set for any reason then this would be reflected in the return code.
The second function module used to release locks is the DEQUEUE_<Lock Object Name>. Thus function module will remove a lock entry from the lock table.
These Function modules are used to set and release locks in an ABAP program. The programmer simply perform the specific "CALL FUCNTION.."
statemen for each functiom module.
These lock functiom modules are executed in a specific work process with the SAP system dedicated to lock management, This work process is run on a single server that maintains the central lock table for entire SAP system.
There are two types of locks that can be set:
Shared lock - is a read only lock that prevents data from being changed while a user is reading it.
Exclusive lock- is a rite lock that prevents data being changed while a used is already modifying it.

Error while activation of ODS Object.

Hi,
I have loaded the data from R/3 to a ODS Object and the activation of ODS failed due to the following errors as shown below..
-Value '20060 ' of characteristic 0CALQUARTER is not plausible
-Error when assigning SID (details in long text)
-Activation of data records from ODS object ZODS_02 terminated
-Error getting SID for ODS object ZODS_02
I could see that Calendar Quarter as 20060 in table /BIC/AZINV_O0240. There is a calendarday mapped to quarter and year in update rules of ODS object. How the calendar quarter is populated in update table in BW. How should i get rid of this error. Any idea would be appreciated.

you are getting this calender qurter from SAP right... check in RSA3 fro the your Datasource. if you are getting same value like '20060'. you can do one thing... you can set 'No Update' in Transfer Rules. you can write a routine in Update Rules for populating the data for calender Week.
you can call some standard function modules or you can write a small routine. If you want to write a routine check this thread...Re: Date to Quarter
Possibilites:
1. updtae rules
2. if RSA3(PSA) shows the value of the Quarter as '20050', if it is custom extractor(Generic using FM) you can change this.
3. If it is Standard Extractor or Generic Extractor (using either view/table or Infoset) you can enhance this. you can do the same thing in SAP Side.

Active Directory Ghost Object replication issue

I have a Windows 2003, Single Forest with nearly 50 Domains. This is a constantly changing, deployable system where not all Domains are connected and online at all times.
Some months ago 2 of these domains were held up in transit and tombstoned. Before they were connected to the Forest again they went to our Hardware support department to be "cleaned" meaning remove dust etc, instead they wiped the arrays on all
servers.
Our Level 4 Support team reanimated these node after restoring them from a really old backup.
This backup did not refelect the AD as it was when it was deleted, therefore we have several orphaned objects form those domains. The Domains are functioning correctly and replicating, however, the GC in the forest is inconsistent and the orphaned/ghost
objects are still being replicated.
We have rehosted the directory partitions from the problem nodes to online domains which works fine, but as soon as another domain comes online the orphaned objects are again replicated into the Global Catalog. The nature of our system means that we cannot
control when the other domains are coming back online to rehost them before replicating the object items back into the GC.
I have made several LDAP queries and can see that the items no longer exist on the problem domain, the only reference to the objects is in the GC directory partitions of those domains.
The biggest issue I have is that these objects were mail enabled users and when the GAL queries the GC it is repopulating them.
I've hit a bit of a wall now and do not know how we can remove these ghost objects without having all domains online at the same time and rehosting the problem domains partitions forest wide. I'd appreciate any assistnce.

An AD backup is as good as the Tombstone lifetime. By default the TSL of a 2003 forest functional level is 60. So if you haven't done this already you should probably configure a higher value for the TSL. By default Strict Replication
Consistency is also enabled to prevent DC that have been disconnected for a long time to propagate lingering objects into the AD topology, check to see if you have this enabled. You should use "repadmin" to remove the lingering objects.
"When a domain controller in your Active Directory environment is disconnected from the replication topology for an extended period of time, all objects that are deleted from AD DS on all other domain controllers might remain on the disconnected
domain controller. Such objects are called lingering objects. When this domain controller is reconnected to the replication topology, it acts as a source replication partner that has one or more objects that its destination replication partners no longer have.
Problems occur when these lingering objects on the source domain controller are updated and these updates are sent by replication to the destination domain controllers. A destination domain controller can respond in one of two ways:
If the destination domain controller has strict replication consistency enabled, it recognizes that it cannot update the object (because the object does not exist), and it locally halts inbound replication of the directory partition from that source
domain controller.
If the destination domain controller does not have strict replication consistency enabled, it requests the full replica of the updated object, which introduces a lingering object into the directory."
Also keep in mind that the Infrastructure Master role handles the cross-domain references and phantoms from the global catalog in its domain. Make sure that you either have all DCs as Global Catalogs or do not place the GC on the DC with the IM role.
