Actual Finish Date

Is there some way to get data with actual date + time when user marked task completed(100%).

Indeed Julie you're right, it seems like I misunderstood the question.
It is still not very clear to me..
Roberts, what do you want to capture? Do you need to track when does the users marked tasks as completed? Or just want to capture the date and time the task was completed? For example, a user might open the project plan on friday to mark that a task has
been completed on wednesday? Do you need to track wednesday or friday?
If you want to track when does the users marked tasks as completed, either you can use a manual process, meaning asking the users to enter the current date in a date task custom field, or you can do some VBA to capture the date when the task is 100%
and store it in a custom field.
If you want to capture the date and time the task was completed, my first reply should apply.
Hope this helps,

  • Actual Finish date and time

    Hii
How can we set the actual finish date and time to be logged at the time of Technical completion ??
    Thanks and Regards
    BK

    BK,
The "Work ends on" field should be open for edit in IW41.
This field entry populates the "Actual finish date" in the operation when the "Final confirmation" flag is switched on in posting the time confirmation.
Check the settings in the IMG for: Set Field Selection for Completion Confirmation.
It sounds as though this has been set to "display only". There is no reason to have this control unless the system is set to enable posting in the future. Then folks would be able to cheat on their time.
The future date posting should only be switched on in development or test clients for test purposes.
However, from your description of the process, I would have expected the date and time to have defaulted as the current date and time.
Could there be a user exit at work?
We seem to have wandered away from the original question you were asking about setting the order "finish" date from technical completion. Were you refering to "Basic Finish Date"?
The configuration in Define Proposed Reference Time for Technical Completion can be configured to be Current, Created on, Basic start, Basic finish, but this relates to the reference date of the order.
Or are we on track now with the problem around the operation "actual finish date"?

  • Actual finish date and % of completion in Open Ps

I am unable to download Actual finish date and % of completion while downloading project from SAP PS to MS Projects using Open PS.

    From SAP Note 1332046:
07.Question: After downloading a project from SAP PS into MS Project, why is the Planned Finish Date in MS Project different when compared to project in SAP PS?
    Answer:
When downloading projects with actual data, the actual work that has been completed by an activity element on an activity in SAP is assigned to the resource of a task in MSP.If there is remaining work and if the actual finish date in SAP PS is before planned finish date, the remaining work
will be equally distributed till the planned finish date. If there is remaining work and if the actual finish date in SAP PS is on or after planned finish date, the remaining work will be equally distributed till the forecast finish date for the activity. If a forecast finish date is not
available for the activity, remaining work will be equally distributed till the forecast finish date for the activity element. If a forecast finish date is not available for the activity element also, then MS Project does the allocation of remaining work. That is, if the actual finish is on or
after the planned finish and there is work remaining, while entering confirmations in SAP a forecast finish date should be supplied so that when downloading the project to MSP, the remaining work will be scheduled properly.
I do not understand. If we must mark the final confirmation it shouldn't be remaining work. I still do not understand why my finish dates do not fit with the actual finish date in SAP.

Like Trevor I couldn't find the option in 2013 version nor in previous versions of MSP. Maybe a more experienced fellow will jump in and bring more knowledge.
That being said, there is the following advanced option which could be seen in a similar way if you look at the description. By default (option cleared) if you enter a %complete, Project will spread the actual work until the actual duration. If you check
the option, it will consider the status date instead. Thus it will apply for your definition where you enter 100% complete.

  • Actual Finish Date for WBS Elements

    Hi,
We are not using the functionality of network of PS in our orgnisation.  We would like to put a actual finish date for the WBS element so that further GRN entries can be restricted.  Appreciate if someone can guide on this.
    Regards,
    Anand

By maintaining Actual finish date in WBS wil not restric the GR.
In the Status profile create a User Status (Ex:COMP) and set "Goods receipt for prodn. order" and "Goods receipt for purch. order" as forbidden. Then set this user staus for the WBS once actual date is achieved.

  • Actual Finish date in production order

    Hi All
Iam using AFKO-GLTRI  ( ACTUAL FINISH DATE) field in some Z-report.
Iam having only one operation in production order which does not have AUTOGR key.
Iam using serial number and doing GR through migo.
Date in AFKO-GLTRI  field does not get populated when i do partial or final confirmation with full yeild. -- WHICH Standard SAP and right
After final confirmation when i do goods receipt then i can able to see Actual finish  date in CO03  screen but it is not available in AFKO-GLTRI.
If i do partial confirmation With or without any hours after  GR then   Date gets populated in AFKO-GLTRI.
Please can you guide why date is not appearing in AFKO-GLTRI when I do GR --  iam missing any config ?

you probably can use the AFRU-IEDD (Confirmed date for execution finish).
the logic could be - look at all confirmations(or just one) and get the last one.

  • 2LIS_04_P_MATNR Delta - Actual Start and Finish Dates

My company is experiencing a problem with retrieving the actual start and finish dates and times from the 2LIS_04_P_MATNR data source with delta extraction. The R/3 source system is version 4.6C. The BI system is version 7.0. Specifically, the data source fields GETRI, GEUZI (finish), GSTRI, GSUZI (start) are sometimes never populated with data. These fields are often blank in the production data extracted. It was observed that the actual delivery date for the order (posting date of goods receipt from process order) was often an earlier date than the GETRI date. This scenario was tried in test systems, and it was found that if the final goods receipt for the process order was posted before the end of the last phase was confirmed, the actual finish date and time fields were not transferred to BI from R/3. In fact, it was noted that a new record was not created in the 2LIS_04_P_MATNR delta queue when the end of the last phase was confirmed. Regarding the actual start data, this is missing if a goods receipt from the process order is posted before the start of the first phase is confirmed.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? How was it resolved?
SAP Notes have been searched regarding this problem, and in fact, a customer message has been opened with SAP for this problem. However, we thought we would try asking the community as well, to see if any other users have experienced this, and how the problem was resolved. We also understand that it may be an unusual practice to post a goods receipt from the process order before the end of the last phase is confirmed. In a more general sense, has anyone else experienced that some of the data source fields are never populated if the R/3 information is entered after the posting of the final goods receipt against the process order? Our testing indicated that no more delta records are created for the 2LIS_04_P_MATNR data source after the final goods receipt was posted.
    Thank you,
    Chris Sopek

    Hello,
we are experiencing your same problem! The only difference to your scenario is that wer are currently operating on SAP ECC 6.0.
Did you receive any answer from SAP?
We opened a request for the same topic.
    Thanks

  • Why do Start/Finish dates automatically change to match Actual Start/Finish dates?

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the
rationale for MS Project automatically changing the "Start" and "Finish" dates to match the "Actual Start" and "Actual Finish" dates when they are inputted?  Can this "feature" be disabled?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Hi,
In the end, yes, once actuals are recorded, all these values are the same - but before that they can all be different!
Before an actual start is recorded, the column shows "NA" (wich obviously is different from Start :-)). To the scjheduling engine, thsi means the start can be freely calculated (from predecessors or resource leveling, f.i.) whereas when a date
appears in Actual Start, Project will take that value as carved in granite - it is supposed to show past reality, and reality is more powerful than values calculated by the scheduling engine!
So these two values are not Always identical!
As for Scheduled start, that is indeed meaningless for automaticlly calculated tassk. But for manually scheduled tasks it does play a role. For a manually schduled task, you can set any start value you want (even a litteral such as "when we have
the time"). Still, there is an option to make manually scheduled tasks obey links - the result of that calculation is then put into scheduled start - and so there can be a difference between these two columns as well.
So, no, these 4 values do not have the same function. They are ony identical as soon as actuals are recorded but what do you expect? There is only one past reality, Project does not work with a parallel universum :-)
    Hope this helps,

  • Real Finish Date and Task Completion Percentage

Hi, Working With Project Server 2013,
User enter Task Progress setting the fields:
    Percent Complete: 100%
But also changes the Finish Date to a later day.
    And Hit "Send"
This is the information the PL gets, accepts and publishes.
If the user sees the task again on Tasks he sees a recalculated % percentage and not the 100% that he entered in the first place.
If the user doesn't change the finish date the 100% percent is not recalculated.
This behaviour is not seen on PS2010.
Is this by design on PS2013? is it configurable?

    Andres --
In either Microsoft Project 2010 or 2013, if you enter a % Complete value of 100% for a task, and then change the Duration of the task, Microsoft Project will recalculate the % Complete value, reducing it from 100%.  This is the default behavior of
the desktop tool, and Project Server 2013 mimics that behavior.  I cannot test Project Server 2010 for this behavior, since I do not have an instance available to me where I can change the method of tracking to % of Work Complete.
To answer your second question, no, the Finish field is NOT the same as the Actual Finish field.  In your situation, I would recommend that you add both the Actual Start and Actual Finish fields to the following views in PWA:
My Work view in the Timesheet section
Details view in the My Work section
My Assignments view in the My Work section
The process for using the above field with the % Work Complete method of tracking progress would be as follows:
When a team member begins work on a new task, the team member enters that date in the Actual Start field.
Each week the team member enters their estimated task progress in the % Work Complete field.
When a team member completes work on a task, the team member enters that date in the Actual Finish field (they DO NOT need to enter 100% in the % Work Complete field as the software will assume the task is completed by entering an Actual Finish date).
This is the process that we recommended to all of our clients who use the % of Work Complete method of tracking progress.  Using this method gives you more accurate tracking, and will eliminate the problems you have experienced with Project Server 2013.
    Hope this helps.

  • Early schedule start date, early schedule finish date

I want early schedule start date, early schedule finish date and project cost plan in my report. This is a PS requirement. In the standard cube (0PS_C02) I can find actual start date and actual finish date. Has anybody used early schedule start date and early schedule finish date in the reports? If yes then did you get it using standard cube/ODS or you went for enhancement?

    HI,
He have to go for few tables in which u can find all the data.
Firstly u have to enhance the datasource .
First go to table AFKO here you insert  AFUNR (Order Number) this table you will get AUFPL .
Then take AUFLP and go to AFVV table and insert AFUPL . you will get all the activites and all dates of each activity  for example early start date ,early finish date, foirecost date etc.
    Thanks and Regards

    Dear ,
Is your last operation have Finally Confirmed in Operation Over view scree .Basically , this is the date on which the last operation was confirmed, that is, the date on which the order received the status "Finally confirmed".
In COOIS -You have to enter the date as follows :
    Actual Start Date TO
    Actual Finsih Date TO
Then Enter Plant Code , select PRT and Standard Profile .Execute .It is working for me when I have tested .Make  sure that You PRT are in place for Production Order .Based on this date ragne , COOIS will pick up the PRT details which have been used for Production Orders having Actual Start Date To /Actual Finsih Date To  based on the Final Operation are confirmed -CNF .
Try -COOIS-Operation -Standard Profile -Enter Plant Code and Order Type-It will show u Actual Fisnihe date based on the last operation.
    Hope this clarifies .

  • Compare finish date with target date

Would like to keep track of late Projects by comparing the finish date with the target date but are unable to do so. The idea is just to filter and count the summary tasks which have a later Finish date than the target date and present that as a the number
of late Projects. However it does not work, when trying to setup the filter Project tells that the target value can not be used for comparasion against the finish date.
Does anyone have a workaround or maybe a better solution to keep track of late Projects. Please note that we are talking about Projects that risk to be late compared to a date promised to a customer. When we plan we always add some extra time at the
end to have some extra when the Project is delayed at a certain department, however we want to keep track of how many late Projects we have and how late they are. Are not after seeing the status for each departments, only how we are doing in relation to what
    we have promised our customers.
    Kind regards //Anders

    Anders,
Trevor and Dale have tried to steer you towards the normal tracking fields and methods already available in Project, but let me take a more direct approach to your exact question. First of all, you didn't tell us what field you are using as the "target date".
I'll assume it is the Date1 field manually entered for each summary line.
You could probably produce something close to the report you want with custom field formulas, filters and some manual counting but let me offer a more automated approach. The following macro will examine each summary task in your project and determine if
the finish date is before or on the target date (Date1), or if it is after the target date. If it is after the target date, that will count as one late project/order and add it to a running count of late orders. The difference in days will also be tracked
and added to a running total of delay. At the end, a message will appear in the exact format you describe.
    Sub LateReport()
    Dim t As Task
    Dim LateCount As Integer
    Dim LateDays As Integer
    Dim TotDelay As Integer
    For Each t In ActiveProject.Tasks
If Not t Is Nothing Then
            If t.Summary = True Then
                If DateValue(t.Finish) > DateValue(t.Date1) Then
                    LateCount = LateCount + 1
                    LateDays = DateValue(t.Finish) - DateValue(t.Date1)
                    TotDelay = TotDelay + LateDays
                End If
            End If
        End If
    Next t
    MsgBox "Number of late orders: " & LateCount & " (" & TotDelay & " days of total delay)"
    End Sub
Note, in my view, and I'm sure in Trevor and Dale's also, the Finish field of the summary line does not indicate completion, it simply indicates the scheduled finish date of the last task in the subtasks under that summary. I think you should use the Actual
Finish date as the comparison value since it indicates when the project/order is complete. If you do decide, actual finish is a better choice, then substitute t.ActualFinish for t.Finish in the above macro.
    My input.

  • Actual Start Date vs Actual End Date - Activity

In an Activity, I would like to seperately enter the Actual Start Date and Actual End Date.
    - If I try this using (partial) confirmation,  I receive a pop-up with an error that the two dates must be entered together or no dates can be entered.
The activity in my project can take over a year to complete and the requirement is to confirm start (at start) and to confirm end (at end).
Does anyone know of a solution for this issue?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Patrick,
I think you need to research a bit more on confirmations in PS. Actual dates in partial confirmations are practically interpreted as provisional actual start dates and actual finish dates. The actual start for the activity remains the same however the actual finish date is overwritten once the final confirmation is entered.
For example, take an activity with start date 05.09.2011 and finish date as 14.09.2011. Now when you provide confirmations on a daily basis, you can use the following strategy:
    Day 1, 05.09.2011: actual start 05.09.2011, actual finish 05.09.2011, % complete 10%
    Day 1, 06.09.2011: actual start 05.09.2011, actual finish 06.09.2011, % complete 20%
    Day 1, 07.09.2011: actual start 05.09.2011, actual finish 07.09.2011, % complete 25%
Only when you provide the final confirmation the actual finish date is confirmed. The various confirmation line items may be viewed via CN48N.

  • Need to Enter Real Subtask "Actual Work" and "Actual Finish"

I am creating a Project file by importing a CSV file.  I need to be able to import both the real Actual Work hours and the real Actual Finish dates contained in the CSV file.  Somehow Project ties these two together for finished Subtasks:
entering the Actual Work sets the Actual Finish.  And entering the Actual Finish clears the Actual Work.
Is there a sequence to enter those for a Subtask, and display what is in the CSV file, rather than what Project wants to compute?

    andyrice,
If you set the % Work Complete field to 100%, then the Actual Finish field should not be empty. Do you have automatic calculation turned off? Are you using manual scheduling mode?
For the test sequence I ran, my task type is Fixed Work. I set % Work Complete to 100%. At that point Project assumes the task finished as planned so it sets the Actual Finish date to be the Finish date and the Actual Work to equal the Work. Now you need
to adjust the work and finish date. If you simply change the value in the Actual Work field, Project will reset the % work complete if the actual work value does not equal the Work field (remember, task is fixed work). So to "replan" the task to what actually
happened, you must update the Work field with the actual work value. Finally, if the Actual Finish is not the Finish, then the Actual Finish date must be updated. Try that.
    Project's scheduling equation is:
    Duration = Work/Units.
