AD Resource Request

I am trying to enable request provisioning for AD. I have create a directory OIM_HOME/DataSet/file and copied the two dataset files to this directory. I then updated weblogic.properties with the following information:
wls_servername=oim_server1
application_name=OIMMetadata
metadata_from=D:\\Oracle\\Middleware\\Oracle_IDM1\\DataSet
metadata_files=\\file\\ProvisionResourceAD User.xml,\\file\\ModifyResourceAD User.xml
I then ran weblogicImportMetadata.bat and PurgeCache.bar All and received no errors. I then enabled "Auto-Save". Finally I updated the ProvisionResource Request Template to include the AD User resource. However, when I make a request I can't see any of the AD fields to populate. What steps have I missed?

Forcing end user to open the child form in the resource request dataset

Hi,
Is there any way where we can force end user to open the child form of a resource request dataset and enter the values for the attributes in the child form. The child form attribute is mandatory. However, currently, OIM allows user to submit the request without opening the child form and to enter values for child form attributes(which is mandatory).

Child dataset attributes are set to required="true". But it will come into picture only if end user opens the child form. If he forgets to open the child form, still he is able to submit request without entering values to the attibutes(whose required=true) in the child form. OIM is alowing to submit request if he doesn't open the child form.

Fetching all the resource request

Hi,
How to retrieve all the resource requests using a method?
The below method returns the requests for a spefic resource object with the status as "Approved".
tcResultSet rs= reqIntf.getRequestsForObject("iPlanet User", "approved");
I want to retrieve all the resource requests.

Returns a list of requests that match the provided attribute list.
Just give your criteria from the list (you can see this API in the given link)
I haven't tried but give:
Map a = new Hashmap();
a.put("Objects.Object Status.Status","*");
Then you can sort this resultset depends on your use case.

Maximum Resource Requests on a Server what is for?

We are using Weblogic 9.2. At JTA Configuration (Advanced) we have option "Maximum Resource Requests on a Server", and it is set to 50. Documentation states that it is "Maximum number of concurrent requests to resources allowed for each server.". it is not clear does this parameter limit the number of resource to be used concurrently or just number of pending request for resources? E.g if I've several datasources configured for particular server, could I've more than 50 DS at In-Use state?

Delete/Unassign Resource Request Xml ?

What is the request xml to delete the resource from ACS4 ? Currently there is no xml request is generated in "Web service API Inspector" of ACS4. Also same for delete(unassign) resource from distributor resources?
Can anyhone help?

I've seen this too. Arguably, it's a bug, but I can also see an argument for the way it works now: if the account isn't going to be deleted, won't reconciliation likely just link it up again? In my particular case, the answer is "no"...
I'm running an old version of IDM 8, so I don't know if the behavior is still that way.
You can write your own task to unlink resources and make it available for launching under Server Tasks...Run Tasks. Or you can try using what's available under Accounts..Launch Bulk Actions.

OIM: Hide provisioned roles/responsibilities in the modify provisioned resource request dataset

Hi,
We are provisioning Oracle E-Business Suite R12 through EBS UM connector. Is there a way where we can either hide the already provisioned EBS roles/responsibilities in the available list of roles/responsibilities or move these under Selected Responsibilities and make them non-editable ? I couldn't find a way to do that in the Modify Provisioned Resource E-Business Suite Request Dataset. Please advise

1. End user raising the request is able to view the process form, I need to restrict few attributes i.e. position and responsiblity should not be visible to end userEnd user will see Application Instance Form and you can customize the UI to hide attributes
2. Position and Responsibility should be provided by approver (this is specified in request data set of provision resource)
Make your Java Code/Beans/Expression to show/hide attributes conditionally.
3. As per Oracle document there is no request data set for PROVISION and MODIFY resource. What is the replacement for this?Application Instance Form
4. After Request is raised it has been assgined to xelsysadm, how do i control the approval ?Approval Policies

It is no wonder it does not work as you expect. GI/GO. You might be well advised to run the rest of your XML through a [well formedness checker|http://pscode.org/xml/xmltools.html#xmlwfc], or better, an XML validation service - using a DTD or XSD.

Update Resource Request

Hello All,
I have a requirement wherein if a user is provisioned with a resource say OID and is provisioned with Group1.
A user now needs OID group say Group2. So he logs into OIM and raises a request for OID, at this point the Object form , I have created and attached to the th OID RO gets triggered and user then make his selection of Group2.
So, in doing so a user is being provisioned again, instead of his existing OID resource getting updated.
Is It possible to update the existing OID instance instead of the user getting provisioned again?
Iam using OIM 9102 BP 13.

One way to solve your issue is to create what I call a shadow resource object named something like "Modify OID User" that mirrors what you need of the OID User resource form of your OID resource object. Then in the provisioning process of the new resource (Modify OID User) it would need to take whatever is requested by the user (this is the group requested) and add that as a value back to the user's main "OID User" child process form. The default behavior of the connector would then take the newly added row data (new group membership) and update it in OID.

Firefox blocking resource request from localhost

I am developing a site on my local machine using using tomcat and MySQL v5.5.24. Site works fine on Chrome, however firefox and IE are blocking javascript consistently for 20 secs on page onload. Every page on firefox from localhost minimum takes 20secs to load for different resources (css/js/image) . Other sites works fine though on firefox.
Same page when loaded using Chrome is loading under 1sec.

Request more attentive resource request.

Hi. Recently I downloaded the InDesign CS3 international and CS4 english trial versions. I wanted to see the application what everybody mentioned me to try for my new job. I began to install the CS3, and the installation recoiled with the message about the insufficient hard disk capacity to continue installation. I have plenty of gigabytes on the disk, but the installation clamoured for 2.2 GB more on the C: volume. Well, I know that the lamers use their hard disk in one giant, therefore vulnerable and slow volume. But I use and still want to use only 8 GB for the system volume and for anything other. This configuration has already helped me out from some system crash.
Almost all of the applications offer the choice of the drive and folder where I want to install the program files. So does your product, but it wants to install 300 MB into the chosen folder and gigabytes into the Adobe folder on drive C:. This must be a joke, I think. Almost all of the applications can manage to store the needed components in the program folder or in a separated folder by the users choice. Everybody is able to find the soluton for it. The Adobe softwares, what I have seen, usually feed up the common system folders, unlimitedly. This is very bad manner, I mean it. I use a huge number of programs and that 8 GB has always been enough for the smooth working. If one giant application - also containing unnecessary but unskippable components, I saw it at one of my colleagues - wants the whole place for itself then I am pressed to forsake that. And I am dejected. Hopefully the next version will bring a new approach and the system requirements will show more regards for the users' requirements.

My friend, let me know what I can save with properly divided hard drive. But I let you know it, too. You probably are a user who doesn't care of the accumulated garbage on your machine. If the system is too slow, you reinstall the whole one, don't you. And all of the applications, of course, because the registry and the component folders has been erased. Maybe it spends an hour. Well, if I would have to reinstall my system, it would spend a week, approximately. All the applications, all the associatings, and last but not least the settings of the applications. This is not the same weight I guess. So, you probably don't make system backups because you have nothing to lose. I have, that's why I already create system backups with particularly set and adjusted states to archive. Earlier with Norton Ghost, now with a more stable utility, with Easy Image. From sector-to sector, I save the whole system drive in a secured image, stored in a DVD, and when my system becomes suspicious, dirty or instable, I can restore a well working configuration, erasing even the last bytes of the state to be annihilated. I am able to try any programs, make careless experiments, because when my playground is too crowded, I destroy the present and recall the past. This is what I mean comfort.
If I followed your way and stored everything in one volume then I could not make a backup of the system. I could try to backup folders but as everyone knows, not all the important contents are stored in files and folders. So you have to abandon the safety, I don't. You think you are in safety because you have downloaded the updates and patches. Well, I am in safety because I haven't ever download any system updates or patches. I had created my system configuration almost 5 years ago. When have you reinstalled your system last time?
I tell you a more interesting thing about my system. A few months ago a fully reliable software has ruined my logical drive chain, started from the partition table, if you know what I mean. The C drive has gone, okay, but some other volumes became also invisible. Maybe hurt. Somebody would decide to reinstall the whole thing, and to lose the data which are not archive right then. I took up a floppy disk of mine with an MS-DOS 7.1 system and some really handy tools. Booted on, and rechained the complete drive map by hand. Well, spent a day and a half, because I'm really out of practice, but I did not lose anything, not a file, not a byte. DOS can span 8 GB long partition in the system area to be able to use the whole disk repairing capacity of those ancient but definitely reliable and helpful tools. I took care of this limit, so at this time my care was repaid. I am curious of your methods to save your disk when a "reliable" program becomes your enemy.
I always clear off the garbage from my machine, this is a fee for using my PC. I've been use it for five years without system loss. I use tons of programs, including some giant games, and all of them can manage their tasks without using up my 8 gigabytes size system drive. Just because this is how a well designed program is made. Just because this is the right thing. All of them. The Adobe InDesign can not. And not a few kilobytes were missing to make the things done. Two gigabytes were required, not less. Now what can I think about it? Are the other programs made by excessive care of storage requirement of the common files or is the Adobe InDesign constructed without the minimal care of the users' problems? Well, not each program was very careful, but I can use my system at five years after the big bang. So, the final conclusion has to be that Adobe doesn't worry about that ******* who has bought the great product, and the great product, the most and only solution InDesign is a crap. Any objection?

OIM 11G : Selecting Multiple RO's in Single "Self Request Resource" Failing

Hello Everyone,
OIM 11G : End User "Self Request Resource" failing when user selects 2 or more resources in a Single Self Request Resource Request
1) On OIM 11G, I have created 2 resource objects, workflow, process forms.
2) Created the separate request dataset xml and imported into OIM repository
3) Now if an end user creates a request , "Self Request Resource" and selects one of the resource
4) Form defined as per request dataset shows up perfectly for the application on Resource Attributes page which comes next.
5) Only Problem that I am seeing is when End User selects 2 resources in one single request
Both the resource request dataset has been correctly configured because selecting only 1 works not both when both are selected in same request.

Hello Experts,
on OIM 11G
I am getting the above issue when an end user does a "self request resource" and selects 2 Resource Objects.
On the Next Page, attribute form defined as per the request dataset.xml does not show up.
Both the RO's are seen on top breadcrumbs but with a blank form. I can navigate to the next RO Resource Data Details again with a blank form.
Though the attribute form as per request dataset comes up properly if I select any 1 of the 2 RO's and make "self request resource". everything goes fine.
I have followed the documentation thoroughly to import the datasets etc and can see request dataset in MDS_PATHS table (DEV_MDS user).
If anybody has also faced a similar issue or tested that selecting 2 RO's in 1 single "self request resource" works , pls let me know.

OIM 11g - Restricting the number of resources to one on Request Creation

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein when a requester tries to create a Provision Resource request type(be it for himself or for others), he shouldn't be allowed to request for more than one resource in a single request. If a user chooses more than one resource, he should be prevented from proceeding further and also a message should be shown to the user indicating that only resource should be chosen for this request.
Can this functionality be achieved in OIM 11g?
Any kind of help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I already have an enhancement request for this as the only plugin which Oracle provides for request creation is ValidationHandler. The validation handler is called 'number of resources' X 'number of users' and there is no static construct in the plugin either.
Thus workarounds:
1. Check for multiple resource selection in your SOA Approval process (this should not be at the orchestration level) and reject the request if there are more then one selection.
2. As Kevin pointed out, in 9x xlWebAdmin.properties file can be used to set the following properties for single resource selection during requests. You can try to look for this information oim 11g properties files and test it out. -1 here means no limit.

DataFile resource ownership request

Hi,
When ORCL opens the database at startup, what type of resource request is made? The hypothetical scenario is this:
The database is down. I am doing a 3rd party cold backup (no RMAN). (This is assuming the 3rd party product has a tablespace open for read.)
Then someone else unwittingly goes to start up the database. Does the database request exclusive access to the tablespace? Will there be some type of error in the database startup process?
Obviously, if there is no error, the backup has the potential of being inconsistent (worthless) since the database wouldn't be in backup mode etc. etc.
I've dug through admin gde and concepts with no luck in finding anything about this.

OIM - Filtering several resources in requests

People,
we have here a lot of resources (more than 3,000), and we want to find a way to filter them (at Grant Resource screen, at the point when you must select one or more resource/s to grant). It is not possible for us to make final users navigate through thouthands of resources in order to reach the one they want. Any ideas?

*1)* Well there is an OOTB filter available from the product for that purpose. As you progress to Step 3: Provide resources of the Grant Resource option, you will automatically see a drop down for filter values as follows:
Resource Name - Name of the Resource Objects as created in OIM.
Resource Form - Resource Form name for that resource.
So you are never supposed to navigate through thousands of resources to fetch your required resource. The whole thing which I talked about is when you are requesting to create a Grant Resource request for other users as your question stated.
*2)* If in case you are talking about the self request part then you can do it with the help of UI customization by extending the action class for tcRequestProvisionResourceAction. You can just update the JSP to also show an extra filter criterion with filter values fetched from a pre-defined lookup in OIM. In addition to it you will also put a search Go button which calls your method to curtail the final resultset which is passed to the populateTableData method for resource list.
