AD RMS MDE. RMS Sharing App error

Hi!
Sorry for my english. Recently I have raised AD RMS on-premises environment according to document "Leverage-the-Mobile-Device-Extension-for-AD-RMS-on-your-premises.docx". In my case I used only local network infrastructure (without Azure). Then
I tested RMS Sharing App on iPad devices and it worked fine. However, on Android devices I get error
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException

How I said, environment uses local network DNS Server, hosted on Domain Controller. In Android settings I set appropriate DNS, sites www/adfs/adrms.[domainname].com are visible. What can it be?

Correct. When you install ADRMS there is a local group created called "AD RMS Enterprise Admins". Your account is added to that group. If you do not log off and back on after the installation, OR, if you try to log into the console as a different user than
you installed the role as, you will see that error.
Obviously for you the answer was to log off and back on, but otherwise, make sure the account you are logging in as is added to that local group.

  • Does the RMS sharing app actually work on iOS 8 for iPad?

Created a trial setup for Office 365 and Azure and Intune enabled rights managements for the Azure AD tentant and added the user to AAD premium.
Downloaded the RMS sharing app for iPad and put in an account...and it tells me the account doesn't have permission to create protected content and to contact the administrator (me)...is there some special thing to do to enable this IOS app to talk
to RMS?????  Isn't RMS supposed to work out of the box with little config???  Or is this an iOS 8.1 bug???

If something goes pear shaped you'd  need to restore your iPad, which puts it back to its out of box state. YOu can then redownload any available apps that you've already purchased, as well as any iTunes content. (occasionally apps get pulled from the app store, if you have one of those, then it's gone and there's nothing you can do about it)
You will lose any data associated with the apps. For example, say mine goes wrong and I don't have a backup. I've completed all the levels on Frozen Freefall. I can redownload the game, but all my progress will likely be lost so I'll have to start all over.
So while you can redownload the apps, you can lose data associated with them.
In your case, it sounds like you should make sure your chapters are saved somewhere. E-mail them toyourself, back them up on the cloud, whatever. Just make sure your only copy isn't on your iPad.
Usually, if you  have a good backup, you don't end up needing it.

  • AD RMS (On-Premise) and RMS Sharing App not allowing outside organisation protection

    Hi All,
I have been looking using the RMS Sharing app with our AD RMS (2012) test environment.
But I seem to be having issues where the RMS Sharing app complains about protecting documents with addresses outside of the organisation.
I have set RMS to trust windows live ID's so i would have assumed that this wouldn't be the issue, or is there any additional settings that need to be implemented to get this to work? (Inter-Organisational protection however works fine)
    Any advise would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Could i use rms sharing app with Offce 365 E3 subscription?

I have enabled rms on Office 365 Portal.
However, i'm not sure if i will be able to use RMS App SHaring.
Can Anybody tell if it's possible?
    Regards

    Hi Jose -
You are able to use the RMS Sharing App!  Once you enable RMS in the Office 365 portal, you need to make sure you have an associated account in Azure Active Directory.  Then download the app (https://portal.aadrm.com/Home/Download)
and you can get started.  Here's a user guide to help you:

    I hope that helps!

The issue mysteriously resolved itself. I shut down the computer, and the next day I booted back up and tried to open the same file, and everything was OK. Very bizarre, since I had opened it previously on this same MacBook. Anyway, anyone have any insight into what happened?

  • "Shared library error" prevents app launch

Did the upgrade to 10.4.10 this morning, via the Software Update panel. Upon restart, attempts to launch Microsoft Word / Excel or FileMaker results in:
    Application Launch Failure
The application "Word" could not be launched bceause of a shared library error: "2 <Microsoft Word> <CarbonLib> <CFMPriv_CarbonSound> "
I'm out of my depth here. I've repaired permissions, but no dice. Any advice?
(Many other apps - browsers & email, Adobe, Macromedia, Digidesign - launch fine.)

Well, this has blown into a bit of a 'situation,' I'm afraid, mostly because I don't have my 10.4 DVD. (Seems I left it at the office when I left some months ago. They can FedEx it to me, but as they're closed Wednesday, I won't get started until Friday.) The only system disc I have is my 10.1.3 installer, and I suspect I'll open several new cans of worms if I jump that far backward.
The G5 now won't boot at all. I can start it in FireWire target mode from the G4, and can see all the data on my hard drives. When it's turned on by itself, the panel light and the fans all look and sound the way they should, but I get to a screen that reads Mac OS X and a progress bar that never progresses – i.e. a white strip that goes nowhere.
I also can boot the G5 into Terminal (or whatever you call it when I open with Opt + Cmd + O + F), but don't know my way around it. Didn't do anything there except remove the CD.
A friend tried posting me a copy of his 10.4 disc 1 for me to use, but it seems the Apple folks knew we'd think of that. Whatever the technology, I can mount it but can't boot from it. (Or maybe that's Toast? I see that their help page reads, "You cannot make a bootable Mac Volume disc.")
Repaired & Verified permissions on the G5 before it locked me out. Looking at it from the G4 confirms that it at least thinks that 10.4.10 was successfully installed; I'm now downloading the 10.4.10 combo update. (I hadn't realized until I was already typing this that I should try running it on the G5's system drive, from the G4.)
I'm just posting this in case someone who's been willing to read this far spots some magic bullet that I'm missing.

  • Shared Pool error in Oracle 10.1.0.5

Setup : 3-node RAC clustered databases
    OS version : RHEL 4.5
    DB version : 10.1.0.5
Storage : ASM diskgroups for C/R/D files & archivelogs on SAN box
applications : no. of OLTP applications running on a separate app server
We are getting ORA-04031 SHARED POOL MEMORY error . There are three nodes : node1, node2 & node3 each running on RHEL AS4 OS . The sga components are not tuned automatically i mean there is no automated sga tuning or resizing . We have set each SGA component manuallay when required. All the c/r/d files are stored on ASM Diskgroups .
From last night we are facing the SHARED POOL MEMORY issue . There are number of OLTP applications running at front end and the load is more on node3 . Due to the saturation of shared pool it affected the applications and the CPU utilization on App server was almost 90%. But the CPU utilization on each rac node was just below 30%. The Client's complained slow performance of applications and in fact few user sessions hung up.
What we found in the alert log is the ORA-04031 shared pool error . Which was casuing the problem and the applications started to work very slowly . For workaround we increased the size of the SHARED_POOL_SIZE parameter as well as we flushed the shared pool memory . Now the applications were running fine. I have also observed that there were 454 INACTIVE sessions in the node3. Will these sessions have any impact on performance?
But i dont know whether it will be fixed for future as well. But Can anyone suggest me how could i approach for resolving this issue permanently ?
I know that we are still using 10.1.0.5 release and also one more thing is that the SWAP space in one of the node is 4GB short compared to other two nodes swap space. I cant post you the logs please.Whatever i have observed and done i have posted here.
Any suggestions will be hugely appreciate. Thanks taking out sometime to helping me out.

I understand SB and i know that 10gr1 is going to be de-supported in dec,2011. But for atleast we can fix the problem for more two months . There are few critical applications which required minimal downtime but at present the client doesn't want to have any outage. Please help.
    Thanks.

  • Help with Shared Library Errors?

I am getting a Shared Library Error (The application "APP NAME HERE" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "1<APP NAME HERE><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_PrintCore>") whenever I try to open a non-Mac application (Adobe or Microsoft, basically). And when I try to print, I cannot adjust anything in the Page Setup, else the application crashes.
Problems began right after a Software Update: to 10.4.8 (and iTunes to 7.0.1).
Any thoughts? I have seen references here and elsewhere to various shared library error issues, with solutions that have worked for some people sometimes, ranging from dowloading the newest version of Quicktime to archiving everything and reinstalling the system software.

I saw you had posted in the other topic and were
advised to start a new one. But did you try any of
    the other approaches?
Yes. I've been trying simpler things first, such as removing certain caches from my Library.
    It helps to be
more specific about the particular applications.
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and In Design 2.0.2. Microsoft Word 11.0 and Excel 11.0 are the ones that give me the shared library error. At the same time (since the upgrade to OS 10.4.8 and iTunes 7.0.1), I have been having trouble with my printer, a Canon i850 (printer software quits with each printing, although the printer does print the item; and trying to adjust Page Setup causes whatever application I'm in to crash).
    Did you look at Yo
u receive a "Shared library" error message when you
start Office for Mac programs for example?
Not until you suggested it. Thanks. It has some of the same suggestions, though — no new ones. I've been trying to avoid the archive/install option, but I guess I'm headed that way.
You say you have iTunes 7.0.1, what version of
    Quicktime do you have?
    QuickTime Player 7.1.3.
Unfortunately there doesn't (as yet) seem to be a
single fix for all these errors. We'll just have to
    keep trying!
    That's the sense I'm getting.
Thank you for your attemps to help.

  • Shared library error FATCarbon 1.5

    shared library error <FATCarbon 1.5>
Started getting this message recently. Firefox died first then other apps have now followed. I have run all diagnostic software I own and no joy. Any suggestions?

Hi there, not sure what all you've tried, but...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, then try reallpying the big combo update...
The combo update for PowerPC-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateppc.html
    Repair Permissions afterwords, reboot.
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

  • MS Word- Shared Library Error after 10.4.7 Instal

After re-starting after installing the upgrade, I received the message Microsoft Database Shared Library Error: Microsoft Database Daemon><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound and, obviously, no launch of Office products. Any solutions?

After installing 10.4.7 everything but Office apps seemed to work. Office x worked but not Office 2004. Did an archive reinstall (after backing up data) and all apps seem to be working. I plan to keep an eye on this forum and/or to wait for greater minds to fix this mess before I install upgrades. I uninstalled Norton a while back so I don't think that is the issue for me.

  • Application launch failure - Shared Library Error

I'm getting a "shared library error" when I try to launch nearly all of my applications..Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Final Cut, etc.. The error reads:
The application "Excel" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "?<Microsoft Excel><Apple;Carbon;Multimedia><CFMPriv_QuickTime>"
I ran disk utility and it said 1 volume could not be repaired because of an error. i went & bought Disk Warrior & ran it, but it did not fix the problem. Anything I can do other than Zeroing out the hard drive & re-installing the OS?
Oh, and i tried to re-install some of the apps, but that didn't work either.

You can try to reinstall Mac OS 10.4.8 combo update Intel or PPC.
Anyway, this is symptomatic of hard drive failure and needs repair (changing the hard drive).

  • Application launch failure because of shared library error!!!!!

I have been using photoshop for over a year now and I went to open it up and I get this error, Application Launch Failure, The application "Photoshop" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "/<application><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound>"
Then when I open up the console log it comes up with error code -2820, which I cannot find anywhere. Please help before I scream!

I'm not sure if folks in the "AppleScript" forum will be able to help much. You might get better results posting in a forum that deals more with third party apps like Photoshop. Maybe in Using Mac OS X Tiger.
I have been using photoshop for over a year now and I
went to open it up and I get this error, Application
Launch Failure, The application "Photoshop" could not
be launched because of a shared library error:
    "/<application><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound>"
Then when I open up the console log it comes up with
error code -2820, which I cannot find anywhere.
    Please help before I scream!
Error -2820 is from the Code Fragment Manager and means "A fragment's container was corrupt". So it sounds like "CFMPriv_CarbonSound" may have gotten corrupted in some way.
My machine doesn't seem to have anything called "CFMPriv_CarbonSound" on it (but I don't have Photoshop installed). So I suspect it's a library that comes with Photoshop or with a Photoshop plug-in.
You might try doing a "Repair Permissions" and/or a "Repair Disk" in Disk Utility to see if that helps. But, if you don't get any other suggestions the only other thing I can think of would be to try a clean install of Photoshop.
