Add attachment/link to document upload

Hi Experts,
How can i make a link/attachment from the document i upload to other document (attachment) located in the different folder? I'm thinking of typing the URL in the metadata but it displays too long. Please help.

if the documents to be displayed in a link are very few then create KM document iview for each document and copy the url in Preview, assign it as a link according to your requirement, if the documents are more then check with html rendering option in KM navigation iview.

Add Attachment link doesn't open attachment window

I'm trying to debug a custom page, written by someone else. It's in the recruitment module, and delivered subpages HRS_CE_A_RES_SBP and are included to allow attach/view/delete of attachments.
When the Add Attachment link is clicked, it should open a window that lets the user enter a filename or browse, but on this custom page, nothing happens.
Because the delivered code is unmodified, I suspect that there is some setup that hasn't been done. The component does contain table HRS_APP_ATTACH, which includes subrecord FILE_ATTACH_SBR. The component also contains record FILE_ATTACH_WRK.
Can someone suggest my next step? Thanks.

Generally Add attachment issues are enountered while setting up new regions for the reason URL not updated while setting up new region.
In this table PSFILE_ATTDET a row is inserted temporarily with Oprid and deleted once the specified file is trasferred mentioned url successfully.
Example: AddAttachment(&URL_ID, &ATTACHSYSFILENAME, &FILEEXTENSION, &ATTACHUSERFILE, &FILESIZE)
works when &ATTACHUSERFILE =file-name and &URL_ID=gerurl(url.urlname) are given properly.Please check these parameters.

Add http link to document attributes

Hi.
I'm looking for a way where we can store a http link somewhere in the document attributes so that we can link to an external service management application. Is this possible? I've read that it should be possible to define additional attributes but I am not sure if a http link can be one of those additional attributes.
Is there maybe another way to couple a web link to a specific document?

Hi Tom,
In solution manager for all the documents that we store in solar02 we can create a document link.
1.After loading a document go to the attribute icon of the document.
2.In the attributes you have an option to create a document link-generate URL.
3.Once you clik generate URL,the URL will be in the buffer,so then open IE and give control V(paste) in the address bar.The url for your document will be there in the address bar,which u can call from any extrenal application.

My Add an Attachment link does not open, how do I get it to open?

I open an email and try to add a document or picture using the Add Attachment link but it will not open. Nothing happens when I click on it. I uninstalled Firefox and re=installed it and it still does not work. It does work on Internet Explorer.

You can add attachment from the workitem. There will be an icon to add attachment. In order to view this attachment in subsequent steps you should do a binding from ATTACH_OBJECT from Wflow to Task.

I'm new to wiki work and I need your help!
I'm trying to add a link to twitter on the page, such that the user from the wiki will click on the the twitter icon and it will go to the twitter page so they can follow it.
This is what I tried:
uploaded the twitter icon as an attachment.
Tried inserting the attachment with a link with this:

I think looked at the notation and tried to use this example, but couldn't figure out about the coordinates that are required:

Hello Sankaran,
document library is to upload documents, without document you will not be able to add a record or Item to it.
for your requirement you can use a list and enable folders within the list and maintain the local path of the file as an item in list.

The only links supported in Pages v5 (any release) are email, and web links. Pages '09, the predecessor to Pages v5, supported web, email, intra-document links (bookmarks), and extra-document links to other Pages '09 documents. Neither supports a link back to storage resident applications.

As far as I remember you couldn't do it in PAges 09 and Pages 5 has lost over 90 features that Pages 09 has so I would say no you can't. I can't test it right now. I had a quick look in the help (http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.0/?lang=en) and could find that you could link to another document from anywhere let alone a table cell.

How to add attachment (URL) to parked document inbackground?

Hi guys,
I wonder how it is possible to add the URL (of external document) to parked document in the background (with BAPI)?
After I park document (for example with transaction FV60 or MIR7) a small button (called Services for Object) appears in the left upper corner (on the left side of the transaction heading) and when I click on it I can select option (Create External Document URL). That way I can manually add the link to external document.
But the thing I need is to add that URL in the background (through BAPI).
Actually I am doing the following thing: In one other BAPI I need to call BAPI for parking incoming invoice, and in that same BAPI I need to add URL to external document.
So, what I would like to know is: which BAPI's, or API's or whatsoever are used for creating these attachments, so that I can call them in the background (with another BAPI).
I would appreciate any kind of help because the project is running, and I can't find any solution for this problem.

SharePoint 2010 document library - Add a link that points to a page

A department has created a document library. Now, they would like to have a link visible in that library that points to another .aspx page. Is that possible?
I've seen how to add a "link to a document", but I want to add a link to a page, not a document.

I tried the "Link to a document" content type suggestion, but I'm not sure if there's something missing from our SharePoint installation, or if something is different with our template.docx file, or if SharePoint 2010 is playing strangely with
Office 2013, but after I added the "Link to a document" content type and chose it from the New Document drop-down, it wants to auto-launch Word 2013 with no dialogue for adding a URL.
However, once in Word, there are a couple of boxes just above the content area to type a URL and a description (screenshot below). I pasted the URL to the page in the URL box, left the description and content area blank, then saved the file back
to the library. However, when you click on the document in the library, it simply wants to open Word without going to the link.

The project I'm working on is due to go live in just a little over a month. I've recently acquired some training materials that contain information that needs to be merged into the help file. The problem is that there is not enough time to do it, get it reviewed, and so on.
So I had this idea of linking to the Word docs (there are 3) for now, then cleaning things up as we go along.
Is that a stupid idea this late in the game?
Would it be better to create a separate help file with just those docs and then merge the projects into a master project?
I am using RoboHelp 9 and Word 2010.

I don't think the idea in itself is silly but I think there might be a nicer solution.
Link the documents to a new project. How is described on my site. Alternatively import them.
Once you have got the topics looking how you want, then import them into your main project. You then have the topics ready to edit later on but for now they can go as they are.
Backup your main project before you start the import so that you can backtrack if you want to.
The TOC will not come in automatically this way but you'll likely want to add the new stuff manually anyway. Alternatively you can import the TOC and then append it.

I have a requirement to offer a Document uploading option through Java webdynpro screen.
I have referred the below link

If we want to add Excel into Java webdynpro screen, then we are trying to create a table with invidual cells. This can be easily possible at Java Portal Perspective using Jakarta HSSF POI API.
But we require at Webdynpro so , we can use the Context feature available at Webdynpro to load the table. now we can load the table data into an excel and we can display it to end users in the form of Excel..
