i have a new viewset with views( this is working fine i tested it alone
how can i add this to a link in navigational bar?

You can follow the below steps,
1. In the runtime repository add your window to the component Interface, add inbound and outbound plugs as well
2. Go to SPRO->CRM>UI Framework->Technical Role Def->Define Work Area Component Repository, create new entry and add your component.
3. Go to Nav bar profile and create logical link, create work center link group and add your logical link.
4. Use some existing work center and assign the work center link group created to this work center
5. Go to Define Business Role and choose your business role and enable that work center link.

On Tiger i do not have Russian (DOS) in TextEdit, only Cyrillic (DOS).
The same about TextWrangler on Tiger.

Keeping my view tight against navigation bar (iPhone)
Hi there,
I'm having a very interesting problem... I had my application working great, but wanted to add more, so I figured I'd add a navigation bar and just call my current class (which extends UIView) as a subview in my new view controller.
The only problem is, when I do this I get it 20 pixels beneath the navigation bar. So there is a black space and it's quite frustrating and I haven't been able to get rid of it. Has anyone had this problem? Let me know if there is any specific code you want to see.

Apparently it's 20 pixels because setting the rect as (0,-20,any number, anynumber) sticks it in the upper left corner...
Surely this isn't the intended way to tackle this, right?I have fixed this before. Note the use of .bounds

How do I increase the size of the view within these 2 areas in the navigation bar?. The icons on the bar have not shrunk. I have Windows 7 and FF 19.0.2 which I just reinstalled.
Are you using any DPI related settings in Windows to increases the font size?

I am new to CRM 2007 and I need to create a custom application which would present a web form to the user(all CRM business roles), user would fill in few details and upon submit action of the form, I need to write the data into z tables in CRM 2007 Web-UI framework. explaining everything you would have to do in detail is a little bit to comprehensive for this forum. Best thing is to finde someone to explain it to you in person. A colleague or even one of the SAP courses.
To get you startet:
Most important is TX BSP_WD_CMPWB here you can create and test your new component.
From now on look in SPRO for the bold words it is in CRM->UI-Framework section.
- After you created it, you have to make it known in the component repository and create technical links.
- For the technical links you can create logical links.
- These links can be assigned to a logical link group which is then part of your navigation bar profile.
I hope this will give you a small idea how to get around. As mentioned above this topic is big enough to fill a whole day of training.

Add new Character Set (Arabic AR8MSWIN1256) to existing 11gR1 (Windows)
Hi all
I have an installed 11gR1 database on Windows 2008 platform with default character set of AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252.
How do I go about adding another character set (ARABIC_UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.AR8MSWIN1256) to the database so that it support storage/retrieval of arabic characters as well as English? Is this possible?
Or do I have to recreate the database with both character sets selected at creation time?
Cheers.You cannot add a character set to an Oracle database. Your choices are (in increasing order of recommendation)
1) Use the NVARCHAR2 data type to store Arabic data. NVARCHAR2 character set is usually AL16UTF16, so you can store any language there. Cons: special handling must be programmed/configured in applications to use NVARCHAR2; some components, like Oracle Text, do not support NVARCHAR2 data type.
2) Migrate the character set of your database to AR8MSWIN1256. If your database is freshly created and empty, just drop it and create a new one. If the database is not empty but you have only pure ASCII data in the whole database, e.g. no special Windows characters, you can use csscan+csalter.plb to migrate. Search this forum and Oracle Database Globalization Support Guide for instructions.
3) Migrate the character set of your database to AL32UTF8. The migration conditions are as in 2) above. AL32UTF8 is Unicode and you can store Arabic, English, French, and whatever your want. One disadvantage: Unicode is obviously a multibyte character set and Arabic requires more space in Unicode compared to AR8MSWIN1256, which is single-byte. But in AR8MSWIN1256 you cannot properly store Persian and some other languages written with Arabic script. You cannot store French, German, Russian, etc. either.

Some add-ons are missing in the tools menu and / or modules and navigation bar
I am running Firefox 20 FRENCH (this is maybe important as all of this below does not appear with the EN version...) on MacOSX 10.6.8.
Symptoms :
- Web Developer toolbar not displayed anymore.
- Xmarks add-ons not displayed in the module bar.
- Icons of other add-ons displayed in the navigation bar ONLY after the first firefox opening i.e. just after system restart. If firefox is closed and re-opened, all the add-ons icons are lost.
> All the add-ons are installed in tha add-on menu.
> This behavior only appear with the FRENCH versions of firefox (tried 19.0.2 and 20).
> Installed the 19.0.2 ENGLISH version and all is OK !!!
Fixes attempts (tried almost everything...) :
- Reset firefox profile and restart with a new one : no effect (after I have reinstalled all the add-ons one by one...)
- Uninstall Firefox (with profiles folder, cache folders, etc...) then reinstall : no effect
- The only thing that is working is using the ENGLISH version...
This is really annoying because as a web developer I really need the Web Developer extension.
Does anyone has an idea of how to fix this ?

Calling a custom Simple View for the follow-up activity. Whenever, we click the link of a follow-up activity from the activity clipboard, the system leads us to Simple Activity view, where we can maintain the description and the status.
Note
This is just a guideline document to work with customer specific view sets for one case. While following this procedure for other cases, we may need to do further enhancements.
A. Primary Steps
Create Custom Package Z_CONS_COOK1
Create BSP application Z_CRM_IC1 under package Z_CONS_COOK1.
B. Creating View Sets & Controllers
1. Through workbench transaction, Create New View Set: SimpleActivitySet
2. Specify view area name main.
3. All Controller & Model Classes are generated in the background.
4. Redefine method GET_STATE_DESCRIPTION of Controller Class ZL_Z_CRM_IC_SIMPLEACTIVIT_IMPL & populate with following source code:

1. Create View using IC Web Client Workbench transaction. Give view name SimpleActivity.
In the wizard enter our view name, and specify all model nodes, model attributes and links to custom controllers.

Four nodes are the pointers to the similarly named BOL entities of the focus object. The focus object will be the Activity that the user clicked in the Activity Clipboard. Whenever this happens, an instance method of the controller is called. Method IP_INBOUNDPLUGID retrieves the BOL entities from the global memory and places them into these attributes. They can also be seen as buffers since they are used in multiple locations within the controller class.
Value node: Optional entry, keep it blank.

2. Restart the IC Web Client Workbench. We will observe, controller class is generated with methods. If we want to enhance these methods we should redefine them in the corresponding *_IMPL class.
3. Define the Inbound Plug.
This is the method that is called by the framework whenever we navigate to our view set. Define method IP_INBOUNDPLUGID and populate with following code:
Following attributes added to the controller class, as it was showing an error message:

4. Confirm View Layout SimpleActivity consistency.
5. Two methods are responsible for the data transfer between the model/controller and the view and are created automatically by the wizard.
SET_MODELLS -- Sends data to the view (PBO)
DO_HANDLE_DATA -- Retrieves data from the HTTP request fields (PAI)
We can redefine these methods for further enhancements.
D. Adjusting IC Web Client Framework
After having defined the views, controllers and classes, we need to hook them up to the runtime profile of IC Web Client.
STEPS:
1. To prepare IC Web Client framework for custom-built view-sets, create a new runtime profile BSP application in the customer namespace.
Create BSP application Z_CRM_IC_RT_REP under package Z_CONS_COOK1.
Copy the file CRM_IC.xml from the BSP application CRM_IC_RT_REP to Z_CRM_IC_RT_REP.
2. Adjust the contents of file CRM_IC.xml, as under:

6. Copy page fragment CRM_IC_All_NavLinks.xml of BSP application CRM_IC_DT_REP to Z_CRM_IC_DT_REP and replace the file contents with the following line:

This definition makes sure that standard navigational links still work and that we are able to add our own link definitions later.
7. Activate all objects.
8. Customize the IC Web Client Runtime Framework Profile in such a way that the new Source file is used with the following sample code:
Navigation: SPRO  CRM  Interaction Center Web Client  Customer-Specific System Modifications  Define IC Web Client Runtime Framework Profiles.
Provide new profile name ZCUST_PROF & populate it with following set of attributes:
Profile name: ZCUST_PROF
Component Set: ALL
Separate Display Model: Off
Application: IC_BASE
Viewset name: workViewSet
Runtime Rep.Type: BSP Application
Application: Z_CRM_IC_RT_REP
Page: CRM_IC.XML
E. Creating View Definitions for Design Time Repositories
1. Every new view set must be defined in Design Time Repository. For this purpose, create page fragment SimpleActivitySet.xml in BSP application Z_CRM_IC_DT_REP and maintain it as shown in the following sample code:

H. Customize Activity Clipboard
To make activity clipboard call our new view set, change its customizing.
1. Create Activity Clipboard profile called ZCUST_PROF.
Navigation: SPRO  CRM  IC Web Client  Basic Functions  Define Activity Clipboard Profiles.
Profile name: ZCUST_PROF (copy all entries)
Keep Technical Profile name: DEFAULT
2. Assign this profile to IC Web Client profile.
3. Create a new entry for the object BTOrder and wrapped object type BUS2000126 by copying the existing entry BTORDERBUS2000126.
Activity Clipboard Entry ID: ZBTORDERBUS2000126
BOL Type: BTOrder
NavigationLink: SimpleActivity
4. Go back to your profile and select Assign Entries to Profile. Replace the original Entry ID BTORDERBUS2000126 with your new entry ZBTORDERBUS2000126.
5. Activate your changes and test the IC WebClient (application CRM_IC) -
Okay, I've played with this for long enough...now I'm
desperate!
I have a template, which is based on another template, and I
have inserted a Navigation Bar. Works fine. BUT, when I try to add
more elements to the Navigation Bar, I get an error message:

promised, it promptly disregards all the work I just did. Does

It's easy to do with CSS or with javascript.
With CSS you would have a little stylesheet embedded in the
head of each
page that allows you to set the down state for any given
button (each button
would have a unique id - for example -

and then your stylesheet would have this -

CRM 5.0 Navigation bar entry that navigates to a custom BSP
Hello all,
I'm currently trying to add an entry in the navigation bar that redirects the webclient to a custom BSP.
I changed the navigation profile and added an entry that should point to a 'Navigational Link' ('Type of navigation'). When I use the input help it asks me a profile (IC profile, not navbar profile) so I select my Z profile, in the next screen an input help with all possible navigational links are shown but my navigational link is not showing...
What I've done so far:
- I created a viewset containing one view, added the viewset definition to CRM_IC_ALL_Viewsets.xml which is in my Z_CRM_IC_DT_REP bsp application. Below you can find the file:

I'm developing in a customer namespace /CONTACT/, not in the default Z namespace.
I created both the viewset and the view through the IC workbench wizards.
I cannot add this navigational link to my navigation bar profile. When I type the navigational link 'showFactSheet' in the navigation bar profile item (without using F4) and I launch the interaction center, click on the newly added link, nothing happens... (No error messages or dumps however) Everything else works, I have tons of other navigational links that work fine so it's really the definition of this particular item, all the rest of the configuration is done and is working.
Anyone an idea??
