Adding a button to a rollover state

I made the register page with imageready for the graphics,
over/click/out states... then saved the optimized as html and user
dreamweaver to add the check boxes text forms... now i need to add
a button or a link to an image so that it sends the information to
my database... i am using XAMPP for MySQL, Apache(PHP), and some
other stuff am not to aware of it yet... Now i also want to be able
to find a person who is able to help me also with my database
issues so i am able to use it correctly
Ok, maybe i need to be more specific... I made the graphics
part of the page in Imageready, i then saved its optimized version
of it into html and images, portion of the graphics has an images
that have OVER/CLICK/OUT states and i need to make that into a
button using dreamweaver, if possible i would like to know how to
implement into the page

var someObject:MovieClip;  // this is declared - only
var someObjectMovieClip = new MovieClip(); // this is declared and instantiated
Make sure your code uses aghains and not instancename like your code shows.
I don't think you understand the third and fifth items I listed either.  The third is saying that the code is not in the same frame as the item it is trying to target.  The fifth has to do with objects in consecutive frames, not linking.
If you followed what I mentioned in the last sentence you should have a line number indicated in the error message that will tell you which line is causing the problem.  Whatever line that is, the object doesn't exist as far as the code sees it.  So if it was the line...
    instancename.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToAndStopAtFrame_28);
I can guarantee you that there is no object named instancename in the frame where you have that code since it is the only object targeted in that line of code.

  • Scaling a button with rollover state (IDCS3)

    If you have a button with a rollover state and then scale it, only the currently visible state is scaled.
    Would you guys consider this a bug or intentional?
    Any hints on how I can scale all states without laboriously editing the content of every button state?
    Cheers, Graham.

    Graham,
    Nice follow up on this, but watch out!
    When you change that preference to "Adjust Scaling Percentage" anytime you scale text frames, you will create a situation where the point size changes but is displayed with the parenthetical amount.
    For instance, if you scale 12 point text down 50%, the point size for text will be displayed as 12(6)pt.
    Then if you want to change the text to 8 point, you would have to type in 16 points.
    Obviously with this simple example the numbers are easy to figure out, but with other amounts it can get very complicated.

  • Rollover state not working in tooltip

    I am having an issue getting a rollover to work correctly in a tooltip. The action is fine but the rollover just doesn't work. You can see an example of it here: http://grosteffon.site90.com/index.html
    The buttons in question are "Material Testing" and "Proficiency" Any help at all would be appreciated.

    The rollover works in the fact that it triggers the submenu. Aish, do those two buttons change color (rollover state) like the other buttons? That is what I can't get to work.
    Thanks!

  • Transparent rollover state on slideshow?

    Hi,
    I have a lightbox slideshow on my home page but I'd like add a link to that page when you hover over an image. And for this I'd like a transparent rollover state. The problem with adding an image as a rollover state at the moment for me is that it keeps showing up behind my thumbnail image. Is there a way to get the result that I have illustrated below? (B. - is the rollover state)

    I figured it out. The slideshow widget frame was layered on top of the menu items, invisibly covering all but the left and right edges - that's why the very left menu item - Home, and very right one - Links, sort of worked, since just a bit of them were not covered by the slideshow frame. I moved it down about 8 pixels to be just below the menu items. Now they work fine! I probably could have arranged the frame backward to avoid moving it, but this works for me.

  • Link to frame in button rollover state not working..

    Hi guys,
    What I use: Flash CS5 & Actionscript 3
    So I had my buttons working just fine and linking to a frame. But after adding a rollover state in which my button has grown in size it no longer links.
    Does anyone know how to get my buttons linking in their rollover state?

  • HELP: Photoshop Button Hover Rollover State Flickers (jumps) Upon First Preview

    All photoshop buttons flicker (jump abruptly) before the rollover state is displayed in preview mode and in browser for the 1st time. After that the behavior is normal. The rollover and hover image displays without a flicker. Why all the graphics not preloaded to prevent this mega-annoying issue? Is there a work around?
    I tried INSERT HTML option as an alternative to photoshop buttons using the following code, since it works flawlessly on other web building programs,  but it doesn't even work in Adobe Muse. I am stock and don't know how to work around this issue.
    <a href='Destination URL' target="_top" onmouseover="document.sub_but.src='http://yourdomain.com/onroll.jpg'" onmouseout="document.sub_but.src='http://yourdomain.com/normal.jpg'">
    <img src="http://yourdomain.com/normal.jpg" width="281" height="55" border="0" alt="Move your mouse over me" name="sub_but">
    </a>
    I love the convenience of photoshop button but the results are truely unprofessional on first loading. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

    Do you have a URL to a site using Photoshop buttons placed in Muse? My guess is that the images are very large and taking some time to load initially.

  • ¿Custom button with different size/shape for rollover state in Muse?

    Hello, i'm trying to make a custom button, that has one size/shape when normal, and other size/shape when rollover.
    The problem is that the area not visible in normal state is a hot area, so when then mouse rollover anywhere near, activates the button rollover state.
    So i think what i need is mask or something like that
    Is there a work around to do this? Is even possible in normal CSS - HTML5?
    Here is the website:

    And here what i'm talking about:
    Thanks in advance!

    I'm not fully understanding the screenshot, but what you're describing sounds more like a Composition:Tooltip widget than a button.

  • When hovering over button text it does not show button rollover state

    Hi
    I'm new to captivate and I'm looking for some help please.  I have created buttons with Adobe Flash and saved them in PNG format,  I have created an upState, overState and downState.  These are working really well when I use them in Captivate.  However when I add text to my buttons and rollover the text the buttons don't change state.  They only change state when I hover over the button itself (a bit without the text).
    Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    No, if you cover up with text, and user clicks on text, the rollover state will not function.
    I have another work flow for translation (have tutorials in several languages as well). In previous versions I used Photoshop to create buttons, using layers and having the Text layer separately, so that to translate I only needed to change that layer. But I created the regular Captivate buttons (needing three PNG's for 3 states).
    In Captivate 6 I have almost replaced all butons by Smart Shapes used as button. Since the double as text containers, translating is now done in Captivate itself. But those shape buttons do not have a rollover functionality, can cope with that, I opt to show the hand cursor.
    Really, cannot help you if you want to stick with Flash buttons that have to be layered under a text caption, unless you make the flash button transparent where the Text has to go, so that you can put the text under the Flash button.

  • Syncing Button Rollover States

    I'm building a website for myself (currently with the Muse trial, but I am planning to buy), and I have a question regarding button rollover states.  The site I'm building is an architectural photography website, and the general portfolio page has a list of subcategories in the left-side menu bar.  However, I also want to have thumbnail links to each of the subcategories in the main body of the website (see image provided).  The thumbnails are for the Educational and Municipal subcategories.  I have currently set up the rollover states for all the links in the left-side menu (to turn to the light blue that is seen on the active state of the Portfolio button), and I've set the rollover states for the thumbnails (to go to 50% opacity).  Is there a way for me to synchronize these rollover states?  I would like to see a thumbnail respond in its rollover state if I roll over its corresponding button in the left-side menu, and vice versa.
    Thanks!
    Rob

    Hi,
    To accomplish that you can use the composition tool tip. A transparent triger can be placed where your menu item is and the target will be on the image with an opacity of the 50%.
    However, this will only work in one direction and will not change the menu item when you roll over to the image.

  • How do I create a rollover state in CS3?

    Though some of Imagready's features have been ported to Photoshop CS3, there is no "Web Content" palette that allows me to make simple rollover states for a button. If you recall, in Imageready, this palette allowed you to create and control multiple rollover states for a button, then on export it would automatically add suffixes to the files name for the rollover states.
    Right now, I'm doing it old scholl, turning layers on and off, and individually export normal and rollover states for a button, and naming them by hand each time. Very unproductive and given to error.
    Please advise.

  • Making a horizontal menu button stay in same state when I move cursor down to submenu buttons?

    Hello! I realized as I was typing the subject of this post that it was near impossible to describe without being confusing. So I'm going to let some screenshots do most of the talking. **DISCLAIMER: Ignore all formatting besides the "Parks" button for now**
    First picture, the cursor is not on the "Parks" button. Second picture, I have rolled over the "Parks" button, changing the color of it (to the "rollover" state color) and revealing the submenu buttons. Third picture, I have moved the cursor down to the submenu buttons, and the main "Parks" button goes back to that original color. How do I get it to stay in the other color when I am rolling over submenus? In other words, I want the "Parks" button to stay light blue when I rollover/click the other menu options.
    A good example of what I mean can be found on the header menu of http://www.generalassemb.ly
    Thanks! Hope this wasn't too confusing.

    KGLAD - sorry i couldnt get that to work when i applied it to my own objects / instances...
    there must be an easier way...
    I am playing an FLV on my main stage and was trying to use the generic operators defined in flash for the play / pause buttons:
    mc_MyVideo.playButton = mc_Play;
    mc_MyVideo.playButton = mc_Pause;
    Then i tried to modify this code to swap the buttons between each other on stage:
    mc_Play.onPress = function(){
                mc_Pause._x = 339.55;
                mc_Pause._y = 12.2;
                this._x = -100;
                this._y = -100;
    mc_Pause.onPress = function(){
                mc_Play._x = 339.55;
                mc_Play._y = 12.2;
                this._x = -100;
                this._y = -100;
    the buttons work fine controlling mc_MyVideo when both are shown in different locations on the stage and without any other code.... but the moment i try to assign another function to either of them they stop controlling mc_MyVideo.
    the closest i came was with an attachMovie function... when i pressed mc_Play it would start the movie and attach "mc_Pause" at the same time... thats the farthest i got...

  • Button and 'disjointed' rollover

    I have put a button in the first frame of a movie clip and a
    graphic and the second and third frames. The graphics give the
    appearance that the button is being highlighted in a way different
    than when you actually roll over the button itself. I am doing this
    so that when you rollover a button you can show other buttons with
    the secondary highlights.
    My questiona are, why does my button loose its own behavior
    when I attach a behavior to the movie clip it is contained in?
    How can I get both the 'disjointed' rollover and the buttons
    own rollover to work at the same time?
    my test files
    swf -
    btnTest2.swf
    fla -
    btnTest2.fla

    Thank you for your reply, I think I understand the 'why' now.
    What I mean by the secondary highlights is what I show on the
    right-side of my example. I want to mouse over a button and have
    another button become 'highlighted' in a way that is different than
    the normal button over or down state.
    I'm really trying to solve this. I can make it work if I use
    a movieclip for all of the button 'states' of up, over, down,
    highlight 1, highlight 2 (each in their own frame). I then just add
    all of the 'go to frame 2' kind of code and the 'go to frame 4 in
    this other button' kind of code to the movieclip. The problem is
    that I have 77 of the same 'button' symbol on one page, thats alot
    of code to make mistakes with. And I can't make a symbol with all
    of the code for 'go to frame 2 on mouseover' already in the
    movieclip symbol or I run into the same problem i already have.
    Please help me understand this, it seems like it should be
    simple.

  • Psd file into FW...trying to create rollover states

    Ok, first here is the link to the PSD file I used to load
    into FW (cs4):
    http://human-landscaping.com/test/soniMENUbar.psd
    Here is the file I tried to get a rollover (state change) in
    on the first item GALLERY:
    http://human-landscaping.com/test/soniMENUbar.png
    WHAT I did...brought my menu bar (psd) file in. Each menu
    item (button) is unique with it's background and text.
    I then CREATED BUTTOM SYMBOLS for each navigation button. I
    created a hotspot on GALLERY. Moved my cursor in FW off the image
    and the Symbol Properties opened. BUT...the STATE only has one
    choice STATE 1. When I looked at the Lynda.com video there were
    multiple choices...rollover, mouse down...
    I have read links from the Forum where people said this
    explained everything. I guess it explains everything if you already
    know what the answer is. I am at a loss on how to proceed. Any help
    would be appreciated.
    I should add...when the cursor rolls over I want the box to
    display a shadow under it.
    I am dreading the next part ... drop down choices from each
    navigation category!!!
    Thanks, humble and ignorant Bill

    When I looked at the
    > Lynda.com video there were multiple choices...rollover,
    mouse down...
    No hotspots are necessary
    Try it this way:
    1-open the PSD file in FW CS4 and delete the text on the
    buttons. You'll
    put it back later.
    2-Select the first button and convert it to a button symbol
    (Modify >
    Symbol > Convert to Symbol > click the Button radio
    button.
    A green slice guide will appear over your new symbol
    3-double click on the green slice guide to open the new
    button symbol in
    the symbol editor window
    4-open the States panel (Window > States). This step isn't
    really
    necessary, but it's helpful in getting used to thinking about
    how states
    work in Fireworks.
    Back in the Property inspector, you'll see the word UP
    selected for
    State. In the States panel, you'll see that State 1 is
    selected.
    5-type the text (gallery) on the button symbol
    6-once you've typed the text, change the State selector on
    the Property
    inspector from Up to Over.
    Note that when you do this, State 2 is selected in the States
    panel.
    7-if you wish to use the same image and text you used for the
    Up state,
    click on the Copy UP Graphic button in the Property
    inspector. You can
    edit both to make them look different without the originals
    on the Up
    state being changed.
    If all you want is a simple two state rollover, then you are
    finished
    8-click on the left facing arrow at the top left of the
    document window
    to leave the symbol editor.
    Repeat for the other buttons.

  • Rollover state not working on type

    I have type that is supposed to act as a hyperlink. I've enabled it, and selected the color, etc. It looks fine in iweb, but when i publish it, there are no rollover states at all.
    The only thing I can think of, is that i've put a drop shadow on the type, thus making it "art". Would that have anything to do with this issue?
    Thanks

    Yes. Adding a drop shadow to the text converts the text box to an image file.  The rollover features don't work on an image used for a hyperlink.

  • Interactive PDF rollover states flashing in Acrobat XI

    Hello,
    I am having a problem with an interactive PDF I created in Adobe InDesign and am viewing in Acrobat XI. Any buttons that I have created with rollover states are flashing (disappearing and reappearing) whenever I actually mouse over them. A previous PDF I created with rollovers doesn't experience this problem at all and works fine. The functionality of the buttons still works but the flashing is very frustrating and looks unprofessional and this is for a client deliverable... Would love to know if there is any fix for this. The buttons and rollovers were created in InDesign (they are not links) so I have no idea why it keeps doing that.
    I am running Adobe InDesign CC 2014.1 (10.1.0.71) and Adobe Acrobat XI version 11.0.10.
    Thanks!

    Hhmmm...I'm actually having this problem even with Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. Does this make sense?
    Again, I'm creating the document in InDesign CS5 and then building the PDF with  Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional, and the rollover effects don't work in Adobe Acrobat 9, Adobe Reader 9, and Adobe Reader 10.
    I'm a bit new to this process of software not providing its basic touted functionality. Is this the kind of thing where support for this functionality will vary from product to product? I had the same issue with PDF Portfolio -- where all its functioanlity was not supported in Adobe Reader X. If so, perhaps I should simply stick with the classic features of PDFs. Or can I trust, reliability, that going forward, this rollover effect will be supported in all Adobe Reader versions? This is quite an important issue for me as I provide all the documentation for my employer, including customer facing documentation -- and I simply don't know. Any recommendations?
